Oh then that means the 2 hour countdown starts now pomme. Do try a sneeze for us Grin . I'm actually nervous for you too though, like biscuits, I will be happy as a pig in muck once dd2 arrives Grin . As of course will her proud parents! We do want all full details and gory painful parts detailed at a more suitable time too!

Now is 2 creme egg s in a day greedy or justified? I've already had one, debating a second if when dd goes to bed. I'll need some luck for that though as dh works til 10pm tonight.... Cue crying, clinging and landing perching for me to get the monkey one to bed...

fishcakefoxtrot · 27/02/2012 19:18

Go pomme! little pomme, please note your eviction papers have been served with immediate effect and vacate the area at the next sneeze.

Good luck to dream too. I suggest strategically placing your creme egg on the landing thus guaranteeing that dd will go straight to sleep and you won't be able to retrieve it for fear of waking her. My heartburn has been so bad that last night's creme egg was the first one I'd had in well over a week!

biscuits glad to hear you got everything checked out and that they are keeping an eye on you. I had one of those conversations when I was being monitored with dd- I got home and said to dh well, they might want to keep me in, and they said the baby would be born sooner rather than later, and then the penny dropped that it wasn't that I was nearing my due date but that they were going to fetch the baby out Grin

Ooh am all excited and nervous for pomme!

DreamingOfPeace · 27/02/2012 20:16

Also can't stop thinking of pomme

But sadly stuck on landing, humming to dd who goes totally nuts if I go... I don't know whether to just leave as she might not go to sleep with me here but I'm too soft to listen to the sobbing... Argh!!

jenfraggle · 27/02/2012 20:27

Dream you need to record yourself humming and then play it continuously as you silently move away...

DreamingOfPeace · 27/02/2012 20:48

i do... or better, dh- she's much calmer for him, he says she thinks 'oh well, its only daddy' when he leaves!!!

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 27/02/2012 20:52

Grin at being dropped naked onto a spaghetti junction. Hope all is going well, Pomme, go Pommelette!

Grr, have bought new phone and it doesn't get any signal at home. To be fair, I live in the middle of nowhere and lots of phones don't work here. DH is on Orange and gets some signal, my work phone is Vodafone and gets slightly better signal, but this one is Tesco Mobile/O2 and seems to get no signal at all. The Vodafone contracts were much more expensive and crappier, though, and it will work everywhere else...what do I do? At home I've got the landline and the internet anyway.

Dream, Jen's idea sounds great - do you think DD would fall for it? Especially if you start humming and then surreptitiously turn the recording on? 2 Creme Eggs is still only per baby - I think that's justified!

DreamingOfPeace · 27/02/2012 21:13

good, second creme egg consumed...DD not asleep but I'm off the landing...

Not being able to text at home would irritate me but not be a deal breaker too- and after all, your friends would all know they couldn't text you... We viewed a house we'd have bought with no mobile reception, ever, for any provider and if we'd managed to sell ours before it sold that'd be me!

Maybe the drip will have now got the 2 hour bit going and the pommelette is already having newborn snuggles- oh, I'm so dying for news!!! Hope everything going ok pomme

musicalmrs · 27/02/2012 21:27

Hoping everything's going well Pomme! I've been away for MN for hours due to PIL visit, but have been brooking from afar!

Hoping to wake up to some wonderful news tomorrow, as Tuesdays are a completely rubbish day (I seem to remember Popcorn's news coming in on a Tuesday and brightening it no end? Maybe I'm wrong though!).

Re movements, as with Dream if I only felt 10 in a day I'd be calling people. My LO's very active.. well, when I have a quiet day and I notice it. It's quite lively at work, but being busy I ignore it more. The alien-style movement and BH are very distinctly different, as with Dream - my LO also tends to do the going quiet thing on BH, and then wriggling lots after!

Jen, I get quite a lot of hiccups, and have been for the last three weeks or so at least. For me they're very light but rhythmic movements, centered where the head/back is usually - accompanied by occasional flailing of the limbs, presumably when the baby is fed up!

Lovely to see some of the soon-to-be-BFPed gang here, adding to the brooking spirit! Grin And Far too - hope you're not too stressed out, and hope you come and join us soon :)

Oh, and Dream, two creme eggs a day is more than acceptable - I'd say it was a requirement!

scarletfingernail · 27/02/2012 21:44

Too I think you usually get 14 days grace when taking out a new mobile phone contract where you can cancel without penalty. Most network provider's websites have a page which will show what the coverage is like in your area. Perhaps have a look at all of them and then maybe change to one which provides better coverage? Only if it bothers you of course. It would really bother me, but I tend to text friends rather than call anyway. I hate being on the phone, I'd rather just text to make arrangements and see people face to face.

I have a bath and shower at last! We've been without for 2 weeks and have been managing with washes at kitchen sink and trips to parents for showers. If I wasn't pg I'd be opening the Wine to celebrate. DS was in his element having a bath again earlier and I could have stayed in the shower all night. Lovely. Phase 2 begins now which is project nursery. Gah!

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 27/02/2012 21:46

Ooops, I meant one per baby! Doh!

i ate nearly an entire tube of bbq pringles the other night......i love crisps.

Hope you're doing ok pomme

Imps7 · 27/02/2012 22:20

Oooh I love BBQ Pringles, even if they bear not the slightest resemblance to any barbecued food that I've ever eaten!

NinjaChipmunk · 27/02/2012 22:39

I love pretty much all pringles! I could eat them forever.

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 27/02/2012 23:26

It's all about salt & vinegar pringles for me! Yum yum yum.

Went to my NCT class earlier, and was asked if I would be bringing music into the operating theatre to help me to relax during my cs (if I get one). The teacher gave me a very disapproving look when I said I don't mind if they play heavy metal during the surgery so long as they give me enough painkillers! Grin

Our newest member is almost here!!! (Or possibly already arrived and snuggled up with Mum Grin)

pommedechocolat · 28/02/2012 02:34

Abigail hazel was born at 11.45 on the 27th feb 2012 weighing 7lbs 11 oz.

She is gorgeous! I had just gas and air bar a shot of dimorphine at 11.30 as noone realised how far along I was. I started pushing at 11.36 so had a second stage of 9 minutes after a second stage of 4 hours with dd1! Now that is proof that no brooking works :)

BeedleTheBard · 28/02/2012 04:06

Congratulations pomme and little Abigail Thanks and well done on the no brooking birth Grin

hawthers · 28/02/2012 04:20

So so so many congratulations and Thanks all round.

And I agree - 9 minute stage 2 = sneeze birth Wink - excellent brooking Grin

Look forward to hearing the birth story and how it's all going, but enjoy those newborn snuggles. Hope you all slept well xx

Imps7 · 28/02/2012 06:41

Hoooooooorrrayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Grin Grin Grin

Not entirely sure what the second stage is but 9 minutes is awesome!

And what a beautiful name! Go Team Pomme!

Biscuitsandtea · 28/02/2012 06:47

Imps, as I understand it, first stage = contractions to get your cervix fully dilated (to 10cm, although I have no idea how everyone's cervix goes to the same size?).

Second stage = the actual pushing to get the baby out - when people often say they have the 'urge to push' etc.

Third stage = delivery of the placenta
