Ok, I did it!

Now shall we get our stats down again? I think we have had some joiners since we last did it.
Copy/paste the list and add yourself to it.

Colditz - due 06/04/06, aged 25, DP aged 32, 1 DS aged 2.9, having a baby boy! Very scared of needles....

Congratulations Pacinofan!!! Wow that was early... I would have been absolutely shellshocked! But you did say you felt ready, didn't you? Shame your DH couldn't be there, but at least you got the hospital bit over VERY quickly!

Sorry to hear about your bad experience pepper. Sounds awful Sad You must be dreading going through that again.

It's making me feel really twitchy to read about everyone having contractions of one sort or another - I've had nothing so far! I get the feeling I may well go over my due date again. Well, as long as the baby doesn't arrive before Sunday, when my mum is coming, and doesn't keep us waiting past 41 weeks, I'm happy. Have been having a bit of pain around my pubic bone and thought that might mean that the baby has sunk lower, but my mw said that nothing's changed, she's still at 3/5!

MrsEvs · 07/04/2006 21:28

Hurray for Pacinofan and Verity Frances GrinGrin - what a lovely name! Frances is one of our 2 possible middle names so you clearly have excellent taste Grin. Glad all went so smoothly and quickly.

Poor Pepper Sad, so sorry to hear things haven't gone to plan. Let's hope all goes well with a fresh week and some rested bits.

I had a docs appt today and there is no movement at all from the 1cm - arrgghh, been there for 2 weeks. Am booked in to be induced a week tomorrow, so Easter Saturday for me if she doesn't come under her own steam before then. Have to go and be monitored Tuesday and Thursday if she hasn't arrived to make sure all is well in there, but since Mum arrives Monday that's no problem. Due date tomorrow, but seems highly unlikely she'll make an appearance!

Bugsy38 · 08/04/2006 12:13

Congratulations Pacinofan on the birth of Verity Frances!

Pepper - I hope you get some much-deserved rest before Monday. . . .

As for me, absolutely nothing happening, but it's still early for me. . . not due until the end of the month. . . . and since this is my first, not at all sure what to be looking for. . . can anyone assist?

allyco · 08/04/2006 20:31

congrats to pacinofan! Brill news.

Poor pepper Sad.

I'm still here and am feeling completely pants. It's not like me but I am getting very down with everything. Normally I can give myself a good talking-to but it doesn't seem to be working...

Have been havnig regular contractions for a few hours at a time which then disappear. I've neen up every night for the last week imagining this is it and of course it hasn't been, so now as well as down I am v. tired.

allyco is v. sad Sad.

Come on, someone have a baby and cheer me up.

oops Blush

Emma7 · 09/04/2006 07:53

Oh no Pepper, what a nightmare Sad. Hope you got some rest and are ready to try again on Monday - just think, this time next week it will be over and you will be cuddling your new baby Smile.

Allyco - on Friday night I too convinced myself that it was happening. I had been feeling weird all day and was even nesting (don't usually have any energy at the moment). Then at about 7.30pm started to have pain in my thighs, bum and pelvic area (like a dull period pain ache). By about 9.00pm was having sharp pains building to a peak about every 1/2 hour. Had a bath and took some paracetamol at about 11pm - couldn't sleep but contractions (or whatever the pain was!) started slowing down after about 2am and woke up at 7am feeling normal Sad. Does this sound like what you are getting? At their peaks the pains felt too painful to be Braxtons but then again it's my first experience so I don't know. It got me down yesterday because I felt like it had been for nothing and we had to miss a friends 30th birthday party because we didn't think it was a good idea to travel in case it all started again.

I agree Allyco we need someone else to have their baby and cheer us all up Smile

tonton · 09/04/2006 11:50

OK how to get this moving? Am taking rasberry leaf tablets and had a cury last night. Actually had sex ysterday (sorry if TMI!) as hubbie had been away for a week. It was horrid - so uncomfortable - actually sex and me don't agree in pregnancy at all. Blush Can't believe a baby is supposed to come out of 'there'! Grin
Nipple twiddling just sounds too painful.
Am going to see an exhibition this afternoon - now have dh to drive me!
Going to try and cram in some gentle culture and lots of lunch this week. No doubt dd will moan...

spots · 09/04/2006 21:43

Hello All! We've gota Baby! But she wantsafeed. I willpost a birth announcement ASAP... For now, many many congrats Pacinofan. Love the nameVerity! Brilliant news. sorry forthe impatient waitingpeople, here's hopingit will be soon...

bloody spacebar...

Emma7 · 10/04/2006 01:58

Congratulations Spots - excellent news!! Smile

allyco · 10/04/2006 09:58

Yay Spots! But also Envy.

I'm still having these ten-minute pains but although they've been on and off for days now they never build to anything. I do remember having something similar with DD2.

I'm starting a new thread about being overdue because I officially am now, seeing as he was due yesterday..

God. This is horrible.

Pepper - any news??? Anyone else??

colditz · 10/04/2006 10:02

Congratulations Spots!

Tonton, I don't know how to really shift the baby, mine is still firmly wedged in place, 4 days late now Angry

Can just see the whole 2 weeks late, induction, 42 hour labour thing that I had with ds looming again.... arghhh!Sad

On the plus side, I had the urge to faff about with baby clothes and make lists yesterday, so that might be a good sign.

Nipple fiddling does naff all for me, and curry just makes me sweat, so I think I am just going to wait it out. Late babies run in my family, I was nearly 4 weeks late according to my mother, and I know my brother and sister were both 2 weeks late.

humpph. Nature is not on my side here.

OP posts:
petunia · 10/04/2006 13:18

Congratulations spots on the arrival of your DD. Look forward to reading all about it.
allyco and colditz- I went a week over with both DDs. Although I should have 2 1/2 weeks to go, don't want to think about whether it might be 3 1/2 wks as with DDs. I went in for a mad cleaning session yesterday- cleaned the bathrooms and downstairs loo, and then took all the fridge shelves out and washed those! That nesting instinct!

MrsEvs · 10/04/2006 15:12

Congrats Spots GrinGrin - happy news, can't wait to hear the name and details!

Still overdue this side of the Atlantic too. Had contractions 30 mins apart last night for about 4-5 hours but they died down before bed. Mum and Dad arrive today - can't wait Grin

In for fetal monitoring tomorrow, so will let you know how I'm doing after that.

Homsa · 10/04/2006 16:24

Congratulations spots! Can't wait to read your story!

Has anyone considered acupuncture or acupressure to get things moving? I've actually had two mums say to me that their waters broke while having the treatment... so I think I'll give that a go if I go overdue again! (even though I'm really not keen on needles - but rather that than another cs!)

MrsEvs, my mum arrived yesterday and I'm sooo glad she's here now! Smile

allyco · 10/04/2006 16:27

well went shopping, did washing, drying, tidying up (of sorts) fetched DD from school and nothing, nada, zilch.

I AM GOING MAD.

It wouldn't be so bad I think if I wasn't still puking and wasn't anaemic, so I didn't feel generally crap. As it is I haven't felt baby move much today (which I suppose could be another sign).

OH BLOODY HELL. STOP PRESS.

As I am typing this hospital has been on phone. Last blood tests were crap and they want me up there this evening for a sweep and try to break waters and if it doesn't work a c-section.

oh FUCK (sorry have never ever typed that word before but am suddenly very very very scared....)

Will keep posted as best can given sudden demented state.

tonton · 10/04/2006 17:28

Poor Allyco! Fingers crossed breaking the waters works...you're a vbac aren't you? No fun going overdue.

Homsa, I've booked in for reflexology - like acupuncture they reckon they can get you moving. If nothing else, a footrub is a lot nicer than having needles stuck in you!

colditz · 10/04/2006 19:28

Crikey allyco.

Good luck, I'll be thinking of you!
