Ok, I did it!

Now shall we get our stats down again? I think we have had some joiners since we last did it.
Copy/paste the list and add yourself to it.

Colditz - due 06/04/06, aged 25, DP aged 32, 1 DS aged 2.9, having a baby boy! Very scared of needles....

Hi All,

Its been so long since i posted on here! Still here and counting down the days now! Only 9 days till due date! Have been getting cramps for about 5 days now but nothing regular and still no show! Had some strong pains this morning about every half an hour and then they just stopped! Doctor said she didn't thin i would last till today! HUH boy was she wrong! My stomach feels constantly hard so its difficult to tell if i am having a contraction (Thats what happens when you have a bump made of just baby no excess water of fat!!) Just want this baby to come now!!

Ally - If you miss Corrie dont worry you can watch the repeat!! Hope babay comes soon for you you seem so fed up of waiting now!!!

Pepper - Good luck i know its late but i still hope everything is ok!

tonton · 05/04/2006 18:10

Had to take dd (aged 5) to have 2 teeth out under general anaesthetic today. Not much fun for her but she's fine now. They doctors kept making jokes about it not being an obstetrics ward...
2 weeks to go. DH not back from USA until saturday, and doula not around until Monday - stay put baby please!!

spots · 05/04/2006 19:09

Poor dd tonton. Had the same myself aged 7. My main memory is of the fuss that got made of me! But it's a bit miserable waking up. Prob. pretty unpleasant being the mummy too...?

Unsure of whether or not to encourage mum to come and stay overnight tonight. Aware that anything could happen, or nothing at all.

MrsQ · 05/04/2006 21:01

Ooh ooh Ponka & Pepperabbit - very close now. And where is FT40 I'd like to know... she's been v quiet and is overdue now - hopefully just too knackered post-baby to post rather than fed up to back teeth of people asking if she's had the baby yet!!

tonton · 05/04/2006 21:37

How's it going MrsQ?

Ponka · 05/04/2006 23:22

Still here, I'm afraid. I'm getting strange twinges all over the place but it's all very weak and irregular, on and off. There's really nothing to indicate it's all starting properly. This show is very strange. It's just a constant slow leakage (sorry, nice, I know!). I sort of imagined one big plug all at once.

I expected some news from someone when I logged on today. Hopefully Pepper will be back with some news shortly.

Happy due date for tomorrow Spots and Colditz (and me!).

Emma7 · 06/04/2006 12:18

I seem to get crampy pains and twinges at night (and start to get excited!!) but then in the morning they are gone again - most frustrating !

I still have 21/2 weeks til due date but I'm getting impatient already Grin

spots · 06/04/2006 14:19

Hi all, I was almost there last night with contractions from 1.30- 6.00 but then they stopped,th buggers, and have only happened intermittently since. My mother is here and that's allowed me to catch upon some sleep, but for now I'm waiting again.Ponka, sounds like you and I are having similar experiences! I always thought stopping and startingsounded really frustrating. Now I know that it is!

Ponka · 06/04/2006 15:35

Yeah, Emma. The majority of my cramps are at night time, too.

Spots, sometimes I reckon we are living parallel lives, except you with girls and me with boys! Strange.

Have had contractions from 3 - 6 last night but only 2 random ones today at all. Mum and Dad took DS out this morning for me and he's asleep this afternoon. I was going to try and get some sleep but I had a sudden urge to do the hoovering while DS wasn't about (he hates the hoover). Stupid really.

Can anyone else who has had a section also report an extremely huge amount of wind along with cramps? The only other time I remember being this bad was straight after my c - section, which they warn you is standard!

Hmmmm. A few people have disappeared, haven't they? Colditz? FT40?

Ponka · 06/04/2006 15:37

Pachinofan? Secreteater?

spots · 06/04/2006 15:56

Right enough, lets have an update on these silentsouls! so Ponka, are you bored as hell likemetoday? Can't do a lot as contractions come with much movement, but actually do want to get thingsgoing. Mum is being great, has taken DD to soft play, and I do understandyourhoovering urge! mAY make a cauliflower cheese,myself...

MrsEvs · 06/04/2006 16:37

This waiting game is frustrating isn't it??!! I had a few contractions before bed last night and thought I might be off but nothing at all today so far. In between the contractions baby seemed very very active and I can't remember if that was the case with dd? What was everyone else's experience? It seems like such a long time ago, can it really only be 20 months?

I had to laugh at myself though because I am moaning constantly about wanting to have this baby and then last night when I thought it might all be starting, I sh*t myself and thought "oh God no, I can't do this again, I'm not ready!!" What a wuss!!!!

colditz · 06/04/2006 18:38

Sorry sorry sorry!

I have not been around this thread for ages, sorry, I'm very lax.

Good luck Pepperrabbit!

anyone else getting fed up of "hilarious" comment?

"Oh you're not going to give birth in here are you? har har!"

I force a smile out, but inside I am muttering

It'd the big DD for me today, andf have not had a single hint of labour. Am knackered though.

Ponka · 06/04/2006 18:41

Oh yes. Bored. Bored. Bored because I'm struggling to keep active due to tiredness. My contractions (if that is reeeaaally what they are) seem to be doing the opposite to yours, Spots. They come on when I relax or go to bed. Aren't Mum's great, eh? Mine is just round the corner.

Actually Mrs. Evs, I think baby has quietened down somewhat recently but he still squiggles here and there I guess everyone is different.

tonton · 06/04/2006 20:13

Had not one nap, but two today! (thanks to it still being term-time for one more day and dd going off to a friend's for tea).
Im portant business to do tomorrow - eyelash tinting and eyebrow shaping - I looked so awful in those day-after photos last time.

Buffy is one of the subjects on Mastermind tonight - going to see how I do! (yes am 36...I know v sad!).

colditz · 06/04/2006 20:27

Ohhhhh, a nap, I would love to have napsEnvy

I do sleep quite well at night though, I should be grateful.

oh come on SOMEONE must be having a baby??

Is eldest DDs birthday today and she's away out celebrating so won't see her until tomorrow.

I really thought I'd have something to report....

pacinofan · 07/04/2006 14:49

PACINOFAN HAS PODDED!!!

Sorry haven't posted earlier, here goes:

Waters broke at 0415 Tuesday 04 April. Wasn't unduly alarmed, but called maternity suite anyway who told me to call back 2 hours later. No contractions, so called my mum and told her there was no rush to get here to look after dd1 - big mistake! Contractions started, very mildly, around 0600 and became painful fairly quickly. DH was overseas in Amsterdam working, had already decided if anything started not to contact him as he was flying and tbh there wouldn't be a thing he could do anyway. Called my best friend who arrived promptly at 0700. By the time Mum and Dad arrived at 0730, I was standing on the drive, contracting, ready to go. We arrived at hospital around 0750, I was having strong contractions so shown straight to the delivery suite and had some gas and air. Midwfife examined me and I fully expected her to say 'around 4/5 cm', in fact I was fully dilated. Started pushing very soon after, Verity Frances arrived at 0828, 37+1 gestation weighing 5lb 5oz. 1 minor tear, no stitches and minimum blood loss so all in all, a great labour and birth.

Have had 3 nights in hospital to monitor us both, Verity for strep B (glad to say negative), blood sugars, temp etc and me for blood pressure which looks like it has fallen nicely. Came home this morning, absolutely thrilled, DH is over the moon and Verity breastfeeding nicely. DD1 has been a little star (well, mostly!) and is loving her new role as 'big sister'.

Good luck ladies!

colditz · 07/04/2006 14:57

Wow, Pacinofan, congratulations and welcome to Verity Frances!

It is FAB to be born on the 4/4, as my 3 year old ds will tell youWink.

Congratulations pacinofan and hello to Verity Frances. Grin

tonton · 07/04/2006 15:29

Hooray pacinofan! Verity is a great name. And Frances was on our short-list...
LOvely to hear another positiv birth story!

Emma7 · 07/04/2006 16:21

Congratulations pacinofan {grin}

pepperrabbit · 07/04/2006 19:32

I'm back. AND I'M STILL PREGNANT. Angry
Almost too upset and cross to give details. Basically, I was "Very Unfavourable", have had 3 full days of prostin, and some very nasty examinations (needed gas & air to get through them...) to no real avail - a few hours of contractions each time etc and now I have been sent home for a rest. Have to go back at 8am Sunday, to start all over again Sad. Even worse - if this time is unsuccessful I have to have a C/S by Tuesday because the risk to the baby is too high to leave any longer.
Seems very arbitrary and I have had a Long Discussion about this with the registrar but they are adament.
Actually they offered me a C/S this afternoon but I politley declined.
DS is very confused about mummy disappearing for days and then reappearing, is tearful and clingy and I'm absolutely knackered. Hoping I'll recover down below in 24 hours before they start all over again Blush.
Anyway, got that off my chest!
Congratualtions Pacinofan - really thrilled for you! Verity is a lovely name.

icklesmudge · 07/04/2006 19:48

Congratulations Pacinofan. Verity is a beautiful name and its good to hear you had a smooth delivery!

I've been havind mild irregular contrations for 3 days was up at three this morning being sick and stomach pains but all stelled down today! Having contactions now every half hour butthey are mild so just going to see if they come and go like the rest!

Just want him to come along now all this is it isn't it is driving me mental!!!!
