Gem, some would say that it's better to not know who Vernon Kay is. They may be right. But for me, he's good eye candy in a pretty boy kind of way. He has a slot on Radio 1 on the weekends and he and his wife just presented something on BBC1. I only watched it for him. So so sad.

My old boss was from St Petersburg and she used to send flowers to her daughter and mother on international women's day. It did seem to mean a lot to her.

Hi everyone.

I think we should have international ladies day in this country. I pointed out an article on treating mums on mothers day last night to my DH and he just grunted! I am 11 weeks on Mon and am only getting to see my MW a week today so want get a scan date for at least another 2 weeks and have been advised from friends to say I'm not sure on my dates or I want get a scan till 20 weeks. Is anyone else in this positon as I feel rather alone even though this is my 2nd pregnancy?

Where are you anna, because if its the uk it was yeesterday and there were flowers for all the ladies at work plus different stalls some with henna design, clarins came to do some treatments and also other stalls with womens issues etc

sparkly, i know what u mean about the lovely piece of eye-candy that is vernon kay lol. he's fab on radio 1 too, soooo funny. and is it just me or is there something strangely appealing about johnny vaughn???? {runs and hides}

hope that every1 is doing ok. and i agree 100% - roll on 2nd trimester! does any1 else get the all day feeling of really wanting to be sick, but for some reason never actually being sick?? yuk

take it easy ladies and hope that any upcoming scans go well :) xoxox

I am in the UK but in the middle of nowhere and we seem to live about 20 years behind the rest of the country! I don't even think in the local town you can buy Clarins over the counter!

Vernon Kay? what a weird bunch of people you are... mind you I went and saw Brokeback mountain last week and got all horny in the cinema so I can't talk really.

ginger wine is my lifesaver at the moment and the non-alcoholic variety is called Rochesters and you can get it from some supermarkets or from Holland & Barrett. I take a swig every time I feel sick and seems to bring me straight back to normal. Mind you, one of the guys near my desk was looking at me a bit funny and I think he thinks I'm a secret alkie knocking back whisky or something (the clinking every time I put it back in my drawer doesn't help...). at home have also stocked up on ginger beer, ginger nuts, ginger marmalade and ginger ice-cream,just to be on safe side..... and have started craving beef hula hoops for some reason so I think the body is gearing up to go just as crazy as last time.... with DS it was chips and salad cream. For breakfast. So I think you're doing quite well if your only vice is pizza, sparkly...

well I do like Vernon but not sure I'd call him eyecandy! I am still upset Lost has finished because I was enjoying my weekly fix of Sawyer. If he has drowned on the raft that they sailed off on I am not watching the next series!

Brokeback mountain is just too heartbreaking for me.

I spoke too soon. I feel like death. I've decided I probably won't come into work tomorrow and instead go to the doctor's.

Vernon is lovely, trust me! He was in my dream last night (and not in THAT way either!).

I love Lost, too. Can't wait for the next series to start. But for now I've got ER and that makes me happy!

Hi girls!

I'm feeling really tired still and have been very fussy about food, sometimes I can't even look at some of the stuff dh eats, it makes me feel sick!
That's a new thing, and he eats normal healthy stuff like lamb hot pot, casserole, etc.

Any of you running out of excuses when asked down the pub? I don't want to go with mates at all as they will notice straight away if I don't order a pint, so I'm just making up excuses not to go with them!
I'm not telling anyone until my scan comes! I can't go thru the MC trauma of facing people again if anything happens.

Hi guys made a mistake am 9wks today!!! Not eight! Still no sign of my date for my 12wk scan. Can't wait to see that everything is okay.. had a better day today!!!! My spotting yesterday that I experienced must been due my stressful day that I had on tuesday... No spotting today...! Hope everyone is well...

Hi ladies - this is my farewell post on this thread. Had a scan this morning and have an empty sac so the miscarriage will continue. In a way it's easier to take because there is no baby at all at this stage - there may have been one but it was reabsorbed if there was.... Will prob be on ttc after misc thread at some point and no doubt will lurk on this one. Good luck and happy pgcys to you all!

My final words to you all are - it is deeply, DEEPLY wrong to fancy Vernon Kaye.....

Hey you lot, what's all this about Vernon Kaye? Now, if it was Brad Pitt, I might understand mmmm...Although I do think Vernon is very funny! I hope you are all feeling okay and/or coping with the sickness. Riley3 I'm so sorry to hear your news. My thoughts are with you hun. Keep in touch with us if you feel up to it, and either way let us know if or when you are preg again. These first few months are the most worrying for sure and not every outcome is good. Take care everyone and speak to you tomorrow if I can keep dh off the pc for long enough! xx

And, for the record, it is NOT wrong to fancy VK. He is funny and that's what does it for me - plus he's tall and has great hair. But his wife does seem dull. Forget the fact I'm getting married in 2.5 months, what's she got that I don't?

Paow, I have now devised many cunning ways of appearing to drink. One is cherry juice which looks like white wine. Another is going up to get a round of drinks and asking for a tonic with bit of lemon in it, (and even a stirrer for adding real verisimilitude!). Also non alcoholic beer, though boy is it yucky. I'm finding it a lot easier at private parties where people are drinking vodka with juice or whatever, and can't tell.

Going4potty, am from the UK but just working in Kazakhstan (been here 2 years). DH and I thinking of staying here another year, then maybe going to Moscow, then eventually moving back to the UK. But you get used to just coming back for visits, and we're a bit addicted to Russian speaking countries, so dunno..

Re the whole Vernon Kay thing, I will try and find out who he is! Haven't seen Brokeback Mountain yet (I can't see it appealing to the Kazakh audience as attitudes to gay people are 1950s to say the least!), but I agree that the guy who played the coach in bend it like beckham was quite fit!

9 weeks today! Crossing off the days now...

Is everyone else taking special pregnancy vits?
