Can I just ask a quick question? Anyone else feel like their cervix is sensitive. Bit hard to describe in wrinting what I mean. No pain just very aware of my vagina (sorry if tmi)

Just back from EPU. very very small for dates, but still there, and a heartbeat too. Have to go back in 2 weeks to check if viable, but looking better than I hoped. Fingers crossed.

I'm interested to read that some of you already have midwife appointments. Is it because you have had previous problems?

I was under the impression that my first appointment would be for a scan at 13 weeks. Saw GP last week due to cramping pains. They are less today so more hopeful at the moment. She siad my due date was 27th Oct but my other two cooked for 42 weeks so maybe I should start a Nov thread!

Sparkly - your first apt is usually lots of note taking and bloods so its up to you what you want personally if you want him there or not.

cece different authorities do things different ways. Our authority has just changed (leics) and we now go to dr who gets you mw apt, that apt is booking in for notes and bloods then you wait for your scan from the hospital direct usually between 10-12 wks at this apt you are given your notes. hope this helps

oh I see. Have just moved into this area so it is obviously different here. The doc did give me a sheet with all the info on but seem to have mislaid it already! I was in a bit of a state when I went to see her last week as it was such a shock and I was worried about telling dh.

the pg is not planned so wasn't sure what his reaction might be - he had indicated previously that two was enough!

he was shocked I think but is fine! Keeps moaning how he can't get the car he was hoping to get though as it won't fit 3 car seats in! lol

fancy him thinking of the car lol I am sure as you grow and he see's the scan etc and given time he will be getting more excited. give him a little time and all will be well I am sure x

He will be fine but has never been that keen on the pregnancy stage of fatherhood. He prefers it once they are out iyswim!

Typical man though to worry about the car!

missmibaby, do you mean, (TMI alert coming up), more discharge in general and a swollen feeling to the vagina (sorry!). I have this and think it must be normal. In fact I was wanting to ask the others if they have this.. almost like you're ovulating all the time.

It sounds like most of us have had some type of bleeding, so must just be one of those things..

thats normal(the discharge etc)you get an increased blood flow to your vagina and it takes on a purplish tinge,according to the books.
Am also size of small house,cant get any clothes done up,was forced to buy new bra as clasp burst off old ones as bosom most impressive size now
Didnt want to buy maternity clothes yet though,feel like im tempting fate to buy them before 12wks

Hi all, Havn't posted for a while as I've been having cramps and been a little worried. Sometimes I find Mumsnet comforting, but for the last week or so I've been finding it more alarming (DP says I should give it up but it can't be done!) Anyway had a scan this morning and everything is OK, but only 6 weeks pregnant (thought I was 8). - Even longer to wait until the 12 week point
Totallyfloaty - My tummy is getting enormous, but that may be due to all the comfort chocolate I'm eating!

Not a lot of posting by me but hello again Cece and MumtoLaura and everyone. MumtoLaura ikwym about Mumsnet! Some days I'm scared to look. Had a tooth extracted today so v miserable and have had to take 2 lots of paracetamol already. Saw mw for booking in which was very pleasant. She seems like a v good mw. Having nuchal fold scan on 21 March which will be first scan I have. Going for quadruple (integrated) test afterward but then I am extra paranoid this time being 40!

Of course we want you to stay around FirstNikki! Let us know what happens tomorrow.
