Hiya everyone!

I am feeling good today. Sick, but good. Not sure if this progesterone is already working of if it's all in my head, but I feel less depressed and anxious as before so that's good!

Bubblebell, sorry about your DS's school. Are any of his friends going there? That might help soften the blow.

Gizzy, that sounds horrid, hope you manage to have a nice lazy day.

Have fun with no kids, babybrain!

CottonSock · 02/03/2012 10:32

Writing on the sly at work.. totally freaking out as have some pinkish discharge.. arrghhh I think if I go and check any more times this morning I might as well stay in there! Anyone else had this?

CottonSock - sorry you are having a frightening time. A little bleed could be down to many things. Have you recently had an examination by your doctor or midwife? My doctor did a smear test and it caused a little bit of bleeding but it was nothing to worry about.

Contact your doctor and see what they say.

Bubblebell1 · 02/03/2012 10:59

cotton I second what thunder said. Def get checked out at epu. It could be nothing I've blew on and off since 6wks and I've had 2 scans and everything is ok. I'm 9 wks tomorrow. It is so scary tho and I know how you feel. X

psam all of his friends are going and this is what I don't understand. He seems to want to go to a different school. I live next door to the school and keep saying that it's really handy. But he says he wants to appeal. I will try but I'm hoping that he will come to terms with it.

Bubblebell1 · 02/03/2012 11:00

Oops Blush I didn't blew I bled Blush Hmm

CottonSock · 02/03/2012 11:32

I tried EPU, they need a GP referral which seems a bit silly (I said as much). Seems to have stopped a bit, will see how things happen this afternoon and over weekend. Imagine it will be a wait until monday for scan now anyway. No examinations etc.. No cramping yet, though I think there are some in my head! thanks for your comments x

Good luck, CottonSock - definitely do what Thunder said. Even if you are 100% ok over the weekend you can always cancel the appointment, but it will do wonders for your peace of mind if you know you have an appointment.

Bubble - I guess it is just disappointing to get a third choice, even if it's a good option. Maybe he's feeling a bit rejected. It's easy to want what you can't have. I bet once he talks to his friends and has a little time, he'll come round.

Pixiepops · 02/03/2012 12:10

Morning ladies,

Cotton I had this nearly a fortnight ago. Just before I went to bed one evening I had a pinkish discharge, followed by a little brownish discharge the following morning. It really worried me at the time, though I didn't contact the epu as it disappeared, I didn't have any cramps and extensive googling showed that it seems to be pretty common. I was also concerned as I was only just 7 weeks and thought that should they not be able to see much on a scan, it might worry me more. If it happened now, I'd probably be more inclined to go to the epu. Hope everything's ok whatever you decide to do.

I'm going to mention it to the midwife when I see her next week at my booking in appointment, and just keep my fingers crossed that all's ok.

CottonSock · 02/03/2012 13:29

I took your advice and am waiting for the GP to call me back. I took a half day from work as I was so stressing and have some leave to use up. Thought doing some nice things this afternoon might calm me down.

I also just enquired about private scans, plently of options in my town but they are £100 and nice lady said best to wait until next week as better result 8 wks + and less chance on internal scan then. I can probably get a EPU appt by then anyway so would be waste of £. My DH is an NHS doc and I know he will probably tell me to wait and see. We had such amazing care at the EPU last time once we were referred.

It's amazing what you can get though, the private place do a reassurance package for £400 where you can have 2 scans a week if you want from 7-14 weeks, evening and weekend appointments etc.

Thanks again, fingers and toes crossed XX

Beeblebear · 02/03/2012 13:50

I hear that bleeding / spotting is really common in the 7th week. Something about the placenta taking over the blood supply.

That being said, i'm 7 weeks today and am a wee bit concerned that if it happens i'll freak out.

Oh well, so far, so good.

Beeblebear · 02/03/2012 13:52

Ps

Is anyone having one breast getting bigger, and one staying the same? I think i'm starting to get lopsided! Though it's probably all in my head.

MissPollysTrolleyed · 02/03/2012 14:17

Beeblebear I have lopsided boobs. Not noticeably so but my consultant remarked on it when I had a breast check a couple of years ago and I really noticed it when pregnant with DC1.

I had spotting throughout Week 7 so wish I had read your post then as I was very concerned. It all cleared up though and an early scan confirmed that the pip was intact. I think you should probably see your GP though if you have more spotting Cottonsock - just for reassurance. Good luck and try not to worry. x

RnB · 02/03/2012 16:52

Hope you're ok cottonsocks. Hopefully the scan will come through soon.

Note to self: eating a whole jar if pickled onions (HmmWTAF?!) may seem like a good idea at the time but you are likely to regret it ... Confused

CottonSock · 02/03/2012 18:04

Got a scan monday morning :) No way I'm cancelling it now i've got it.

A jar of pickled onions, crikey you had better not stock up lol

HettyTurner · 02/03/2012 19:49

cotton I hope the spotting stops sharpish and Monday morning comes round quickly for you.

rnb I hope you don't react to pickled onions in a similar way as DD, OH might need a gas mask otherwise Wink

Just going to roll over for a kip on the sofa...

cakes82 · 02/03/2012 21:47

Hi
Hope all is well cotton
Just wanted to ask a question, 9wks today :)
Has anyone else lost weight whilst pg? I put 6lbs on over Christmas (before getting pg) but since then i've lost 8lbs! I haven't been eating chocolate and I am eating smaller meals than I used to but even so,,, Also I can't say i've been getting any cravings, is that normal for this stage?

pinpan · 02/03/2012 23:16

Have a good weekend everyone! Take it easy cotton, hope all goes well on Monday.

cakes, I just weighed myself and I am exactly the same weight I have been for months. I read that a good goal for the first trimester is only 1 or 2 kg though, and lots of people stay put or lose some (oh, the nausea), so I don't plan to worry just yet. (Though now you mention it, maybe I will go and bake a chocolate cake - it's important to capitalise on days when I don't feel sick, right?)

Hope you're feeling better, Gizzy!

babybrain3 · 03/03/2012 06:22

I've lost weight too cakes it's a little disconcerting isn't it but I'm sure we will make up for it soon!! mmm chocolate cake....?

Bubblebell1 · 03/03/2012 07:45

Morning girls.

Wish I could say I've lost weight. I've swollen up hugely.
Never had this before. Mind you doesn't help that I'm starving hungry most of the time. Actually laying in bed now thinking of what I can eat. Blush

9 wks today. Vomiting has stopped but still feel sick. Fingers crossed the fatigue lessens and I'm back to normal soon. I was in bed at 7 last night and asleep by 8.30Biscuit

How are all of you? Much planned for the weekend?

CottonSock · 03/03/2012 10:02

Hi ladies.. Spotting all stopped :) In my head though I don't feel pregant (melodramatic), I say in my head because I never had any symptoms anyway. I'm sure my gut has shrunk too, but I have lost quite a bit of weight - prob lack of vino (and in my head....).

DH was really sweet and said he would pay for the private scan if it would help me sleep and enjoy the weekend. (I'm waiting till monday and he is coming with me).

Not much planned today, but visiting a friend and newborn later. Potter around house. Went bowling last night. Walk planned for tm, but might scale it down a bit. Awwww just burnt my toast! Now, making cakes is a good idea...

CottonSock · 03/03/2012 10:05

Burnt second bit of toast, maybe baking not a good idea today lol
