Hello, my name is Becky and I have just got my BFP after TTC for 5 months with 1 MMC a month ago.

I noticed that no-one had started a August 2012 antenatal club so thought I might start one here. Welcome to all!

Here are my stats;

Would love to share lig even now, I had a small kids bowl of lasagna at 7 on Wednesday, a toasty at 2 yesterday and nothing so far today, that can't be healthy but I'm wracking my brains at what to eat as nothing appeals :( I'm actually losing weight!

LIG1979 · 13/01/2012 13:04

That wouldn't last me more than a couple of hours Deafworm. Can you not force yourself to eat? I think from what I have heard if the baby needs more nutrients etc. it will take it from you so hopefully you don't need to worry. One of my best friends was so sick she lost over half a stone in the 1st trimester and her little girl is absolutely fine!!

AugustMoon · 13/01/2012 13:52

Hi ladies. I fell off so just jumping back on! Will have a read to catch up and post more later.

harmonyb23 · 13/01/2012 14:20

Hello everyone! Waves to Babybean.

Had my booking appointment on Wednesday. Didn't know I was having it until about 2 hours before hand as they had sent the letter regarding my appointment to my old address - haven't lived there since May! All went well, bloods were taken and all the usual stuff measured (weight, blood pressure, etc.) Took 1 hour roughly and my poor mum waited in the car for me (as my car broke down) she was bored to tears!

Have to speak to a consultant this time due to having emergency C-Section last time round. Hoping for VBAC though!

Feeling less sick this week. Am starving all the time and super tired though. I seem to be expanding fast this time too, feel like a whale!

Hope everyone is well?!

Deafworm, I'm having the same issue! What's strange too is that I am the same dress size so I wonder if that has anything to do with it? What I am lacking in appetite I am gaining in thirst, mostly mornings when I wake up. I've just been going with the flow and grazing on grapes and fruit when I can and trying to eat. I can't eat anything if I cooked it, so DH has taken over cooking. Are you feeling nauseous/sick? I went off my good about two weeks before BFP (probably after conception) and am now 11 weeks and have lost over half a stone in weight. Feeling nauseous a lot but haven't been sick at all...

Deafworm · 13/01/2012 16:50

I haven't had it this bad before Westcountrywife, mw suggested that my symptoms being so intense may indicate twins Confused lig I tried and just threw it all back up :( pretty fed up today, walked 15 miles this week dealt with my monkeys alone on an average of one kids sized meal a day, there's got to be an end to this coming surely, I don't actually feel undernourished or hungry though, just frustrated. Meant to be going for a birthday meal next Saturday if I can't eat I'm not going to be impressed, may save myself for desert!

Harmony I'm expanding quickly too, have given in and pulled out the maternity gear as nothing fits!

Westcountrywife · 13/01/2012 17:14

Oh no, being sick too! I hope there is an end for those symptoms for you soon too. I don't feel undernourished either, just constant queasiness...

OMG twins! Hmmm, blimey. Was she joking or serious?!?!?! Amazing (but scary) for you if possible. Wow...

Hoping all went well for peas today...

missduff · 13/01/2012 20:55

deafworm I'm the opposite, eating constantly to ease the nausea but last time I hardly ate a proper meal for months, my DS is the result of rice crispies, crumpets and toasted tea cakes. Any of those appeal?
Oh and baked potatoes with beans and cheese. I'm getting through a lot of beans at the mo!
I am eating plenty but I tend to fancy bland food, although if DP just makes summat and put it in front of me I'll just eat it, the idea of certain foods is usually worse than actually eating them.
Baby will be fine though, it'll just take nutrients from you but you do need to keep your energy up if you're looking after little ones x

barkwithnobite · 14/01/2012 20:01

Does anyone else have 24hr nausea? With my first 2, I would feel sick and vomit lots, but with this one, I feel sick, no vomit, lots of runny poo (tmi).....does this happen to anyone else?

Deafworm · 14/01/2012 22:21

Mw seemed serious Westcountrywife, slightly scared about that idea! I managed 3 small meals today, I don't for a second think I will manage it again tomorrow but I seem to be having a day where I can eat every 4 or 5 days and just tiny bits inbetween, will keep on just playing it by ear I guess.

Rice crispies might work miss duff, I'm not really concerned about the baby as I know it's taking from me but like you say it's the looking after the others, on a school day we walk 3 miles for the school run on top of everything else that inevitably needs doing, just glad dh doesn't have to go back on Monday now so I can lean on him a bit next week.

I'm constantly nauseous and a bit loose bark but I am throwing up too, this is by far the worst early symptoms I've ever had.

LIG1979 · 14/01/2012 22:54

My nausea is easing up at 10 weeks bark - but it has never been confined to the morning and at its' worst (6-7 weeks) was 24 hours a day and kept me awake and woke me up in the night and early morning. Do some of you have nausea/sickness just in the morning and feel fine later on?

Just had a vaguely normal saturday - got to the gym, went out car shopping and then out to dinner - was so good to be a normal person for a bit again. Now feel queasy again but glad of the relief!

barkwithnobite · 14/01/2012 23:02

Oh deaf worm, I know the feeling. I eat to get rid of the nausea, but I get put off after a few forks....grapes and cherry have been my saving grace. I don't know why it's called morning sickness. I feel like I've swallowed a bottle of Seven seas cod liver oil! Yuck!

Westcountrywife · 14/01/2012 23:43

Yeay just got home from dinner at a friends house. Ate a whole meal, with desert AND Haribo! First proper meal in two days! Feeling less nauseous too. Cup of tea now in bed. Bliss. Grin

barkwithnobite · 15/01/2012 03:20

How far gone are you west?

Deafworm · 15/01/2012 08:07

Go Westcountrywife! Hope you had a lovely evening, I'm snuggled up in bed with all 3 girls and it'd just occurred to me and dh that we need a king size bed, we only just fit the 5 of us in here!

Westcountrywife · 15/01/2012 09:41

Just woken up from a very deep sleep. I reckon there won't be many 9 hour sleeps in the future though.

Bark - I am 11+2 and hoping that the nauseousness is going to subside. Didn't realise how worried DH was about my not eating till last night when he was telling our hosts how happy and relieved he was to see me eat!

Deafworm - you definitely need a king size! We are snuggled up in one now with the cat and there is only just enough room. Mind you, the cat is a major space hogger but we're being nice to him as he has no idea what's coming! There will be no more morning cuddles on the bed for him!

Westcountrywife · 15/01/2012 09:44

P.s. deafworm with three girls already, if you do have twins that sounds like you'll be needing a super king! Hope you're feeling better today. Smile

missduff · 15/01/2012 09:55

DS stayed at my mum's last night, I slept till 9am and feel AMAZING! Not sick in the slightest Grin
It would seem that tiredness definitely makes the sickness worse.

missduff · 15/01/2012 09:57

Haha I can just imagine the childless mothers-to-be's reading my post in horror.
Yes that's right childless ladies, once you have kids sleeping in till 9am is considered as a lie-in lol.

Westcountrywife · 15/01/2012 10:18

Nnnnnnnnnooooooooo!

...so far that seems to be the most popular bit of advice we (currently childless but expecting) have been given by friends/family with children. It's a if they relish that we are losing what they have been jealous of us still having. Well I have decided that we are having a baby that sleeps all night from day one!

MrsLister · 15/01/2012 10:28

Hello ladies

Bit late on this as wasn't aware there was an August 2012 thread here as well as in the 'Pregnancy' area but I'm feeling like I need as much support as possible so thought I'd say hello!

35 y/o expecting first on August 30th. Had a MMC at 9 weeks (think we lost it at 7 weeks) last July so am nervously excited about this pregnancy. I'm feeling a lot more 'pregnant' than last time - boobs in agony after all day in a bra, tired - but still no major nausea/sickness so am of course worrying! I'm 7+3 today and my 12 week scan is booked for 15th Feb. I think it's going to be a long 4 weeks!

A lot of friends have said nausea kicked in around the 7 week mark so I'm hoping I'll start feeling something soon. Sounds daft but I'm longing for morning sickness?!!

LIG1979 · 15/01/2012 10:31

missduff yes - reading it in horror - I got woken up by DH going to footie at 9am - not impressed. That is one thing I am not looking forward with a DC to is getting up at 6am or even earlier every single morning - what is there to do at that time in the morning?

Still in bed now - thinking about getting up.....

Deafworm · 15/01/2012 10:49

Westcountrywife I love your optimism! Missduff :o 9am? Middle of the day ignores that I'm still in bed with all 3 girls dh has gone to buy supplies for a cooked breakfast because, hooray, I fancy one!

Mrslister with dd1 I got to 25 weeks with no clue I was pregnant, no morning sickness or anything, I know it's hard not to worry I had a mc in 2010 and it's taken us till now o conceive again but not having sickness etc needn't mean anything bad, fingers crossed for you

MrsLister · 15/01/2012 11:23

Thanks for the reassurance Deafworm - I know I need to stop worrying about every little thing. My motto for this pregnancy is POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE! Focus on the positive, not the mental attitude ;)

barkwithnobite · 15/01/2012 11:59

Morning MTB! Just back in from church. Have a lovely Sunday all xxxx
