Hello, my name is Becky and I have just got my BFP after TTC for 5 months with 1 MMC a month ago.

I noticed that no-one had started a August 2012 antenatal club so thought I might start one here. Welcome to all!

Here are my stats;

Harmonyb23 (23) Due date 19/08/12 DC#3

Please let me know if I am doing anything wrong, I've never started a thread before!

morning! Just woke up from a 12 hour mega-sleep. Cooked myself a lovely dinner yesterday, had a doze while it was in the oven, sat down to eat it and literally didn't have the energy to lift the cutlery up. Ended up leaving it on the table and heading up to bed. Kept dreaming of lovely thick beef gravy... woke up at one point and decided to try a biscuit but woke up this morning with half left on my pillow, I've never ever felt so absolutly exhausted, lol! DH is still away but says that if I'm still like it this weekend he'll just force feed me while I'm asleep! Still feeling weary and uninterested in food this morning, had gotten used to food being #1 priority followed by sleep, appears to be changing!
got my scan letter on Friday, booked in for the 9th Feb, somehow it makes it all so much more real and scarey!

PictureThis · 09/01/2012 10:01

I'm the opposite. I went to sleep eventually at midnight, woke at half 2 with a nosebleed (only ever get them when I'm pregnant) and couldn't get back to sleep so I got up had a snack and a cup of tea, watched Sherlock and went back to bed at 4. Needless to say we all slept in this morning. As for food, little amounts only otherwise the nausea kicks in.
Happy to report boobs are far more uncomfortable today again.

ruskiewicz · 09/01/2012 12:19

Cramping was (yet another) worry of mine. The nurse said it's actually a good sign as it shows your body's getting ready, and that period-type pains are due to the uterus expanding and contracting or something.
Current reason for obsessing: no nausea/sickness. But norks are getting worse.
I went a bit MN crazy then DP told me off. Am trying to stick to this thread and stop 'educating' myself. It ain't worth it.

barkwithnobite · 09/01/2012 12:29

Ruskie - I've had to hide some of the more scary MN threads that I commented on....

Is anyone else on lon term meds? I guess that's why I'm in panic mode.... I'm on metropolol and 6wks preg.....

Hello everyone, just been catching up on all the posts! Good news here managed to persuade me Doctor to refer me to the local Early Pregnancy Clinic and saw baba with yolk sack and heartbeat. Measured a couple of days earlier so am now due 22/08/12. Haven't heard from MW yet but imagine she'll be in touch in the next couple of weeks.

Hello to all newbies and congratulations! I'm still feeling nauseous and exhausted all the time but am coping well (if I do say so myself!)

Just found out that another of my friends is pregnant. We met on MN and had our babies within weeks of each other. It's nice to know we'll share the experience again.

Hope everyone is well?!

9+1 here, still no midwife appointment until next week and moving house tomorrow. Aaarrggh!

I managed to get to bed at 7.30 last night though so I'm ready for a full day packing today!

Um...has anyone felt the baby move yet? I swear last night I felt it! Felt just like last time even though I didn't feel anything until 20 weeks.

firsttimer83 · 10/01/2012 08:19

Hi all...hope everyone's feeling ok today! Does anyone have any thoughts on exercise in pregnancy? I'm pretty active normally and trying to keep it up but don't want to do anything that's dangerous. The advice on various sites is a bit contradictory. Things I'm talking about are cycling, spinning, circuit training, netball and hockey. I'm 8 + 2 and will def give up the last 2 after first trimester. Thinking of taking up yoga as I hear that's good for you!

Ambi · 10/01/2012 09:04

I have the solution to sore norks / nipples: cabbage leaf down the bra. Just bought a cabbage this morning and feels like heaven.

I'm feeling movements too but for me I reckon it's the constipation and wind!! (tmi)

TheTattybojangles · 10/01/2012 09:19

Hi, I'm new here. My friend has sent me a link to the site as I'm due 20/8/12.

It's my first so I'm pretty clueless at the moment.

It's my first midwife appt today, if anyone has any advice on what I should ask that would be great.

TangleTamer · 10/01/2012 10:11

Morning all! Been feeling much better over the last couple of days energy-wise but still pretty nauseous!

Still haven't heard from midwife but hoping will get a call this week.

firsttimer83 I'm currently 8 weeks pregnant and intending to continue with my karate training for as long as possible. My instructor knows I'm pregnant and has given me lots of useful advice. I obviously won't do sparring and will just listen to my body. Think you're meant to be ok continuing with activities you did before on the whole. Would speak to the instructors though and see if they have any particular advice. Really wish I'd been more active during my first 2 pregnancies!

Chocchip88 · 10/01/2012 10:52

I don't know a lot about exercise glances down at mini eggs packet I think you just need to be careful about not letting your heart rate get to high.

Chocchip88 · 10/01/2012 10:53

Oops! Didn't mean to make the mini eggs thing bold! Perhaps it's a sign I should eat less mini eggs....surely not?!

TangleTamer · 10/01/2012 11:13

Think the important thing is not to start up doing intensive exercise if you didn't do it before. Would be wary of doing anything where likely to get whacked in the stomach too!

Chocchip88 Think you should be ok carrying on with your mini egg routine if you were practising this before Wink.

firsttimer83 · 10/01/2012 11:48

Thanks TangleTamer that's reassuring. I think the main thing is to be sensible as you say. Wow karate - good for you!

Welcome TheTBJ - my first too (and due same time) so equally clueless. How are you feeling? You'll have to let me know how long and drawn out the first MW appt is...dreading all the questions on family medical history I won't know the answer to...

I want mini eggs now!

jipsey · 10/01/2012 13:08

firsttimer83 & chocchip88 I'm guessing that I'll feel like a numpty when the answer is obvious - but what does it mean when you say your 8+2 or 9+1?
TheTattybojangles my 1st appointment took 1hr40min! Others seem to have been in and out in 10min... if you're anything like I am at the mo it would be worth making sure you've got somthing to nibble in your bag just incase! I was lucky in that my mum could come along to answer most of the family history questions, but most of it seemed fairly straight forward. I haven't thought of any questions since - she gave me a ton of reading to take home, most of which (breastfeeding etc.) I haven't gotten the energy to process at the mo!

justine09x · 10/01/2012 13:37

Hi all,

Is it possible that I could be a late comer and complete the month for u?? I am pregnant with 3rd child due 31/08/2012. Me and the hubby got married on 27th August 2011 so im hoping we may possibly have a anniversary baby. I concieved on our honeymoon but sadly was not to be as I miscarried in october. Strangely I knew it wasn't to be as didnt feel right at all, but the this time am glad to be feeling like complete crap! My DD is 4 and my DS is 2 both of which were september babies so who wants to take bets that I will end up with yet another september baby..........expensive month for me!

Hope u ladies are all doing well :)

Justine09x (25) Baby #3

TangleTamer · 10/01/2012 14:09

jipsey the 8+2 or 9+1 means how far along you are. I'm 8+4 so 8 weeks and 4 days pregnant. Your midwife will use the same format in your handheld notes. Don't feel like a numpty - there are so many abbrevations around it's difficult to keep up! Gave up watching the trying to conceive (TTC) threads as half of it was gibberish to me!!

Hi Justine09x! Sorry to hear about your miscarriage - so glad things are going well for you now. Nice to see another 3rd timer on here too :).

Chocchip88 · 10/01/2012 14:39

Welcome to all the newcomers!
justine09x I was hoping DS would be an anniversary baby I even managed to go into labour on our anniversary just didn't get him out until 2 days later.

justine09x · 10/01/2012 15:35

Thankyou tangletamer, I was ok knew it wasnt meant to be and yes another 3rd timer all my kids will be 5 and under....must be madder than i thought ;)

And chocchip I don't have the trouble of long labours my ds my 2nd child was born in 45 mins without the aid of mw or gp or my husband delivered him myself with paramedics banging down the door just after he was born lol ......I am very nervous this time round!

Doubt I will have an aniversary baby my 1st was due august and born sept 6th and my second was due october and born sept 30th so guessing i like to have babies in september lol x

TheTattybojangles · 10/01/2012 16:34

Thank Jimpsey and Firsttimer83 the appt wasn't too bad but she wasn't able to take my bloods which is why it was probably quicker. She didn't ask that many questions about family history except in relation to thalassemia, but I do have lots of information to fill out in my notes.

So glad to read that other people have been feeling rubbish too. I was a bit worried that I had been feeling tired and sick so early. My doctor told me to expect to feel sick from 8 weeks but I've been feeling ill from almost day one. The midwife did advise that I just eat what I want and not to worry about being too healthy aslong as it stops the sickness. Did someone say mini eggs?

Babybean1 · 10/01/2012 16:36

Hi everyone....may I join to?

I'm gonna jump on the front of the waggon tho as my EDD is 2/8/12. I have a 14 month old DD....waves at Harmony as I'm the one she mentioned above that was on the same Nov 10 thread

I had a look when first got out BFP, but think I was a bit too soon as there wasn't anything about then, and have felt soooooo tired this time that haven't really had chance to look since!

Symptoms wise, feel so different from before! More tired (but didn't have a 14 month old to run around after last time!...just work which was easier!) I was constantly sick up until 13 weeks last time, but this time only felt sick for a couple weeks. Boobs no where near as sore although they do tingle occasionally. Apart from feeling like I could sleep stood up (then not being able to when I get chance!!) I don't really feel pregnant! Hopefully that's not a bad sign and just means my body is more prepared this time!
Have told quite a few people already and am so much more relaxed about worried etc this time round....maybe too relaxed!
Am 10+5 today, had booking last week(1hr app!) and waiting scan date

Oh...and need to change my name really as its now babybean2!

Babybean1 · 10/01/2012 16:37

Oh and chocchip I've definitely felt things going on that I definitely felt later on in pregnancy last time :)

ruskiewicz · 10/01/2012 20:32

Need to take own advice instead of Google bothering. Complete lack of morning sickness/nausea (am 8 weeks on Friday). Apparently it can mean a higher chance of miscarrying. Anyone else in the same boat?
Still sore norks, tired, ravenously hungry, bloated, crazy dreams every night... but am actually wanting to feel sick!
