Hope you don't mind the slight tweaking of the thread title :) I was feeling creative! Not that it matters, at this rate it won't last more than a week...!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
FrillyMilly · 21/12/2011 17:08

Ive been having PMT (to the extreme) for the last few days. Stomach cramps, back ache, sore boobs, no patience and weepiness. I'm not even due until the 17th!

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 21/12/2011 17:09

Hooray for non-breach sho Grin PGP is supposed to be ok during birth as long as you tell the midwives you can't move your legs too far apart.

Hooray as well for maternity leave ghost Grin I've re scheduled mine now. I did start on 20th now it is the 9th. And with my working from home days included that's only 4 more days in the office and 4 more days at home Grin

greenlady78 · 21/12/2011 17:20

yummy glad I'm not the only one counting the hours then Grin

ghost congrats on maternity leave, hurray!

Sho no longer breech, great news!

Just came back from a growth scan and at 5 weeks baby is 6lb12!!! They think the baby will be 8.8lb or more at time of birth....argh, gosh, now I'm worried! And baby is on the right side, instead of left and not engaged 5/5 still... Sad

But Smile all is well with the little one! xxx

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 21/12/2011 18:30

8 8 is quite a healthy weight greenlady Grin

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 21/12/2011 18:31

Giant baby green Grin! Are the scans accurate at this stage then? Guess so if they feel they're worth doing in the first place...

Am currently watching DH and SIL play around at the climbing wall - Envy face, wish I could do active things, it's about time I got my body back Wink

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 21/12/2011 18:34

One of my hypno class produced a 9 1/2 pound baby with no extra help and a relatively quick labour so it might not be so bad.

greenlady78 · 21/12/2011 18:42

I'm now considering asking to be induced earlier...I don't know if they would say yes but now I'm totally panicking about the size!!!! Thanks parsley it is good to know it is possible but I have no idea why this baby is so big (er, apart from my husband being born as a 8.8lbs....)

Don't know what to do, will have to wait till my next appointment (3rd Jan) to find out! Balls, I was so zen so far...now panic mode on....

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 21/12/2011 18:47

The weight might not be relative to the head size greenlady.

Oeisha · 21/12/2011 18:52

Sho great news!

milly I'm 18-01 and feeling very PMTish at points. I seem to have good days and bad days. I put it down to being tired mostly. Except the sore boobs...no friggin sore boobs...irritating as I really wanted it to start to hapepn so I coudl get an idea of bra sizes for today. It's a heck of a trek to make to try on bras.

Had my 36wk apt today. MW was all... Hmm That's a head, but so's that...they're not both heads I hope...(me too!)...
I'm either:

  1. very well engaged and my pelvic bone is obscuring a good head-squidge and Abi has a boney arse, with her feet on the right...but she couldn't feel them, just 'something' over there...(couldn't feel legs, shoulders, hips etc)
  2. or she's totally breech and we can't find any feet...meaning they're probably tucked under her bottom and thus I will have to have a section...
  3. or she's a very odd v-shaped bum-breech which might make a VB possible, but depends

So upshot is, we have no friggin idea what way she's lying and they're not at all happy with that. Now have to go next Thurs for an unltrasound and a consultants appointment to discuss options....and hope I don't to into labour any earlier...otherwise there could be "issues" (no shit).

I dunno, I was hoping the MW could just tell me and get rid of my insecurity that she'd gone breech...even though I swear the lump that might be feet, is feet, there's a chance they're not...

...oh and they've now lost note of my 27wk bloods...which hospital have a record of, but not local care...so I might have to have those re-done too, but she then got all excited about the 2 heads thing and didn't mention them again.

Small victory for the day is I have found a nursing bra. After many different shoddings, I've ended up with THIS ONE. As I've got no signs of milk coming through we've got with a slight compramise.

Super-tired, so sorry if I've missed anything.

Am off to try some dinner and see what happens.

FrillyMilly · 21/12/2011 18:55

greenlady glad everything is ok. I don't think 8.8lb is that big, isn't the average 7lb-8lb? Also bear in mind they will just base it on average growth between now and full term. There's nothing to say your baby will grow at the same rate. Most of the babies I have seen that are 'bigger' have been long rather that gigantic.

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 21/12/2011 19:36

oeisha that sounds a most unsatisfactory appointment. At least they are going to check with a scan. My GP was a bit like that yesterday. He "thought" one bit was a head and another bit was feet. The MW is usually a bit more definite.

Oeisha · 21/12/2011 20:01

Humm, also concerned about the lack of fish now. Nowt on FB either. Now feel like a crazy stalker too. Confused

I got my M&P order, all there, all fits! ...snuck in [http://www.mamasandpapas.com/product-gingerbread-striped-knitted-blanket/786009400/type-i/ one of these]] as it was in the sale ...I'm a sucker for stripes. AND a slightly less exciting order of 15kilos of litter and 10kilos of biccits...but they did come with free scissors, tin lids and a bed (think I might donate it to a shelter).

So far dinner's stayed down, and I managed more than 4 mouthfulls!

Still bloody knackered.

Missyface's doing a good job of trying to "come out the sunroof". 90 movements last set of 24h count - averaging anywhere between 40 and 80, so not that many up, but still! Think she got very excited by the vibrations on the train.

I dunno. A part of me doesn't mind the idea of a section, just want what's safest for Abi. Just paranoid that with a lack of boob action I won't be able to BF. Then again, no guarantees either way, so I suppose I should stop guessing and wait and see.

Oeisha · 21/12/2011 20:02

ah balls...link didn't work. here

MissRee · 21/12/2011 20:05

Green - lots of what I've read/heard is that bigger babies are easier to birth as there's more to "push", iyswim!

Got my next MW appointment tomorrow as I will be 38+5. I already know she wants to discuss induction tomorrow... funny considering she hasn't asked me about my birth plan or preferences yet. All of my appointments have been routine checks so far and NOTHING else Sad

DeeOfTheNorthPole · 21/12/2011 20:06

Good to hear things are ok green. My midwife reckons mine is going to be a biggie too. Shouldn't come as a surprise as I was 9lb 2oz at birth, I'm 5'6" now and DH is 6'1". Am hoping that baby will be long though rather than big iyswim.

Oeisha - glad you've found a nursing bra but Shock at your appointment - it's hard when you've got expectations that things will be clearer then mw can't come up with much more than a two-headed baby! Hope your scan comes quickly and all is sorted out then.

And a general point - on a lot of message boards I've seen loads of people saying raspberry leaf tea tastes horrible. I've just tried it today and I love it!

MissRee · 21/12/2011 20:10

I was surprised with the RLT too Dee! I don't normally like herbal/fruit teas and was preparing myself to just grin and bear it (or opt for tablet form) but I'm finding it very refreshing Grin

Green they are predicting my baby will be 8lb 15 Shock I have a growth scan in 3 weeks to find out how big she is! I think i may also ask for an induction if this one doesnt make an appeareance by then!

So I got some good news today, there are no clots on my legs, meaning I dont have dvt :o so they think its just asthma. Phew!

addictediam · 21/12/2011 20:32

Ohh sorry x post with lots there.

Wonder where fish is, maybe she did go into labour? although didnt she post this morning? Or was that just me catching up. Confused

DeeOfTheNorthPole · 21/12/2011 20:35

Yummy - apparently RLT doesn't bring on labour as such - what is does is tone the muscles in your uterus so when labour does happen your body is more prepared for it.

Haven't seen any sign of fish...hope all is ok.

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 21/12/2011 20:37

She hasn't posted since last night addicted but today was DD's first day of hols I think so she might just be busy.

Glad no DVT for you. Smile I suppose you have meds to manage the asthma?

FrillyMilly · 21/12/2011 20:39

Is it obvious if your waters are leaking? I had a trickle on Monday but put a pad in overnight and the pad stayed completely dry (although isn't that what it should do?). Anyway tonight I was lounging on the couch and when I got up I felt damp. I had a wet patch in my knickers and my jogging bottoms felt a bit damp. I didn't feel like a needed a wee, it hadn't been that long since I had been and it didn't smell of wee. DH thinks we should wait to see if it happens again then ring hospital. I don't want to go in to be told I've wet myself (although I really don't think I did). If I put a pad in should it be really obvious if I'm leaking?

supadupaturkeystupor · 21/12/2011 20:43

The leaking can come and go..... keep your eye out for 'pooling' when you get up from laying down and any colour Smile Mine smelt quite sweet when it happened to me....

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 21/12/2011 20:46

I think it should wet the pad frilly that's why they like you to test with it. It could just be excess discharge rather than wee. I had that a couple of weeks ago. you could always phone and let them know about the pad. I had to go in but I think that was because I couldn't try the pad as I was at work.

greenlady78 · 21/12/2011 21:02

parsley thanks for the reminder, the HC is actually only above average (phew!)

oeisha sorry to hear about the very shoddy appointment...but great news on the delivery front! Xmas Smilewe bought a stokke blanket and it looks the same! I'm a sucker for stripes, too!

frilly good point! I started reading about it and they measure the leg to find out about weight (and head, etc) I had no idea that was the way they did it! Sorry can't help with the water leak business...first baby here too, but hope all is well!!! Hugs!

missree hope you are right and baby comes out as slippery as a fish Xmas Grin

yummy aw, hang in there little baby yummy! Wait for your daddy to come home!

dee welcome to the biggies league! Really focusing on long baby rather than fatty one though Xmas Shock

addicted yayyayayaya, no dvt!!! Awesome news!!!

RLT I tried it once at a friend's house and loved it! But I read somewhere that if you had bleeding at any point during pregnancy you should not take it. I had two small bleeding in first trimester so now not sure if I should have it, anyone knows anything about it?

Also wondering where fish is!!!! Hope all is well with her!!!
