Hope you don't mind the slight tweaking of the thread title :) I was feeling creative! Not that it matters, at this rate it won't last more than a week...!

Fish our triage is actually really good imo, I've phoned a couple of times and said I didn't really want to go in but wanted to know if its normal. They keep your records to hand and ask you to phone back in a couple of hours to update them.

If i were you I'd call, mention sleeping dd and it being inconvenient for false labour and see what they recommend.

MissRee · 19/12/2011 19:36

Are you ready for baby to come now, fish?

Do you have a birthing ball you could try and get comfy on?

Ooh exciting!!

We were told that labour can definitely start with a clear out - the body just wants to be able to get on with the birth and not worry about digestion etc.

Wow, we could have our first birth soon!!

mulledfishandfrostedlilacs · 19/12/2011 19:41

Thanks addicted thats a comfort-every time i have rung them before they have asked me to go in.

In really really don't want to go in if it is labour then it's very early stages, but I just need to know whats going on.

mulledfishandfrostedlilacs · 19/12/2011 19:42

Yes i'm sort of ready missree

i'm on my ball. just had another spasm-they are not really painful at moment just tightening with a bit of back ache which kind of rolls around my middle.

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 19/12/2011 19:59

deffo start a 'is this labour?' thread - we can all come and cheer you on and see who else drops by! :)

Well it sounds like it might be something fish I suppose you could hold off ringing to see if they get closer together first.

abeautifulbutterfly · 19/12/2011 20:02

Oh Fish! Have you got childcare sorted so you can just pick up your bag and go if/when you feel you need to? (Sorry if you've just mentioned that - am a bit fuzzy round the edges this evening...). Hope it all goes well for you, whether it quietens down for now or hots up Smile Good labour vibes!

As for freezer, I am full of good intentions but that's as far as I've got aside from a few litres of homemade stock (whenever I do a roast dinner or meat stew I make stock with veg and things like broccoli stalks that we don't eat). Our organic meat lady just killed a pig as well, so we got a few cuts of meat, and there's a duck waiting for Christmas (no tradition of turkey here, she only does turkeys in spring and autumn, and I'm never organised enough then to buy one).

I also have a list of dinners I am going to be making. As we tend to eat our main meal in the middle of the day here, and DH and the DDs have always been at work/pre-school/school, I've never really had to cook much, just a bit of pasta or rice with a few veggies for me. But now, what with DH going to be out of work for a couple of months at least and me not earning either (SMP here is less than 1/6 of what I'd normally be earning), we've decided to take the DDs off school dinners and cook instead as it'll be a lot cheaper. SO I have to get my head round this...

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 19/12/2011 20:15

Blimey and kittie is being induced tomorrow. Shock it's suddenly all go.

addictediam · 19/12/2011 20:16

Fish I think our babies are determined to meet in the hospital! My contractions hb's are getting strong and frequent again. Confused

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 19/12/2011 20:17

Ooh! My heated airer has been despatched. Not as exciting as incipient labours/babies, but still fairly thrilling for me :)

MissRee · 19/12/2011 20:19

Ooooh this is exciting!!

Much more interesting than me trying to figure out what I can eat that won't give me heartburn Sad

FrillyMilly · 19/12/2011 20:23

Ok sorry if TMI but I was on the loo when DD runs in saying she needs a wee. She can't hold it very long so I wiped and stood up to put her on the loo. I didn't pull up my trousers and felt liquid trickling down my leg. It was clear and didn't smell like wee (sorry again TMI) plus I had just had a wee. Should I be concerned about this?

Wormshuffler · 19/12/2011 20:25

When I first went in with DD they sent me down for something to eat and when I came back I threw the whole lot up. Definately can be a sign of labour.

I have been watching some of our old home videos from when DD now aged 12 was a tiny baby. It has made me so excited........... I had kind of got it in my head that babies are no fun until they are over a year as I can't actually remember any of it Blush I assumed I had blanked it all out of my memory!

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 19/12/2011 20:38

Just had a look at the pics DH took of me and bump (crop top and knickers) and am now in tears. I honestly thought I looked quite pretty but I'm just enormous with great big purple stripes and I look awful :(

That's my self esteem down the shitter.

OP posts:
mulledfishandfrostedlilacs · 19/12/2011 20:39

still nothing to report-still got spasms. No change in regularity or pain levels. Had another "evacuation" from the back end-just goes to show be careful what you wish for-this morning I was bemoaning constipation and now I am having the opposite.

Just had a frenzied tidy up and sort out of washing upstairs-not so much nesting as, "bugger if i'm going into to hospital i can't have my mother seeing my room like this" :)

Mum is on standby-but she's a good hour away and doesn't drive herself so would be relying on father to drop her up here. I have friends down the road and some very kind people in the village have said they would help out.

I'm bloody hungry now though, may try some toast-if this is labour I don't want to be depleted because I haven't eaten.

Not phoned yet. Too scared to.

Mulledbee · 19/12/2011 20:39

Frilly, that sounds like something I'd want to check out. How much liquid was there and how far along are you? Gosh we could have 4 babies tomorrow at this rate! Shock

addictediam · 19/12/2011 20:44

Fish I just rang triage and there is a lovley lady on the phone tonight if you do need to ring.

Frilly I'd want that checked out

mulledfishandfrostedlilacs · 19/12/2011 20:45

cor a baby explosion. Could def be something frilly but it's very hard to tell-I have some fluid coming out down there at mo which is clear and non smelling but I have been fairly incontinent and fresh wee doesn't actually smell of much anyway.

Isn't amniotic fluid supposed to smell slightly sweet like toffee or almonds?

Mulledbee · 19/12/2011 20:48

Oh cakes I'm sure you don't look awful. :(

I have to admit I wouldn't take a photo of my bare bump - my stretch marks are taking over. It took ages - and I mean ages - for DH to get a photo of me I liked and only my loose top worked. [vain]

If you look in the mirror and look pretty, I'd trust that more than a bad camera angle.

fish hope everything goes well for you. Could you call and say you don't want to go in but you're just letting them know that there may be action soon? Surely they can't force you to go in but it might be good for them to have a heads up.

Oeisha · 19/12/2011 20:48

Well, not sure what's going on in there with me, but she's not on her way. I've just eaten the teeniest dinner (4 carrot rounds, 2 pieces of broccoli, 4 sprouts and 2 potato wedges). Feel grim. Had som every uncomfy backache and a lot of wriggle earlier. Went for a lie down to see if that'd shift her earlier...now all the usual lumps have moved. Last felt like this eating when she was breech. Confused Guess I'll find out Wednesday (36wks apt).

addictediam · 19/12/2011 21:10

It's like the great escape in here tonight!

That or its sympathy labour for fish and kitty!

SantaSHO · 19/12/2011 21:43

OOOHH Baby explosion!!
Relax and breath ladies. Relax and Breath.

fish Give the mw a call, they cant force you to do anything you dont want to do.

frilly where a pad for a while to check it out better

Iv been hearing alot recently that the cons here like to book you in for a cs the day after they see you. So in theory I could have this baby on Thursday!

My friend had her baby girl today by cs due to breech. EDD was 26/12. Baby Holly was only 5lbs. Very exciting as my bump will go to school with her.

Also been feeling 'off' all day. Not anything exciting though.

FrillyMilly · 19/12/2011 21:50

I've had a bath, emptied my bladder (not in the bath) and put a pad on to monitor it. I remember when my waters went with DD that there was a smell of bleach. However they went in hospital so it may just be the smell of the hospital I remember. They went 12 hours in to labour so it's a bit of a blur.
