Hope you don't mind the slight tweaking of the thread title :) I was feeling creative! Not that it matters, at this rate it won't last more than a week...!

I slept terribly last night. Really painful hips and back. Think that may have been thanks to my fall. Was having really strong HBs too. It felt like every time I dropped off I would have one. Some of them do feel as strong as labour just not very frequent. Lazy day today as tomorrow I'm off to the market for my Xmas food. Still need to get DH a present. Got him a couple of bits as we said we weren't spending lots on each other. We say this every year and every year he surprises me with something.

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 19/12/2011 07:28

I actually could have slept again after the alarm went off at 6 this morning. It's sod's law really The last 2 days I've been awake about then when I could have slept longer.

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 19/12/2011 08:36

Sorry to hear about the bad nights - I moved into the other room at about 1.30am and slept solidly from then on, and HBs appear to have stopped too. Feeling rested is bliss! Last Monday at work today too, wohoo!

Sorry about your fall frilly, sounds painful. Easy to see how it happened though - my balance is very dubious and it's so icy!

abeautifulbutterfly · 19/12/2011 08:58

Ugh, had a fright in the night - found myself lying on my back and went to turn back over onto my left side and got jabbed (or I jabbed) something sticking out at right angles from the left side of my bump (foot? elbow? hand?). Was so painful I actually cried out and I can still feel the place now - really hope it wasn't so painful for LO...
I too nearly ignored the alarm clock this morning.
Am getting paranoid that baby has turned transverse because am getting sort of diagonal side pushes Confused. Have dr's appt on Fri, so will ask.

Happy Mondays everyone Smile

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 19/12/2011 09:19

Ouch beautifulbutterfly that sounds awkward and sore. Not had anything like that yet. Though I did feel my first more solid bit of bump yesterday. I poked it and it went back in - not sure what body part it was.

miamamaClaus09 · 19/12/2011 09:25

Happy Monday all!

I think kitty is booked in tomorrow to be induced, so she'll be the first, if I remember correctly?

Mad weekend here, but got at least 3 1/2 continuous sleep last night before getting up to wee! anything beyond 2 hours sleep in an entire night is a bonus for me these days!

Last day of work tomorrow! woohoo! counting the hours now, rather than the days.

Hope we all have a better week! can you believe we'll be hearing news of babies arriving this week? scary!

Oeisha · 19/12/2011 10:20

fish You are a treasure. You good deed certainly did not deserve the lack of sleep that came your way.

I slept ok, just had a weird dream about bleeding, going to hospital but then my entire family turning up, and then loads (and loads and loads) of sequin sprinkles falling from me/out of my clothes on to the ward that they had me on. The nurses seemed to really like it and were totally uninterested in my bleeding. A doc then came along and told me it was something I inherited off my Dad and walked away...I assumed he meant the sprinkles thing, as I couldn't see why late pregnancy vaginal bleeding could be from my Dad.

Abi seems to be squishing herself entirely on my right at the moment. I still think her feet are very far right, poking out my side, but nothing seems to persuade her that there's an entire other half of my unterus to utalise. She must be going there at points, as I often have a symetrical bump, but whenever she rises to the top, she's all on the right. I'm wonderinng if she's facing backwards, so her shoulders and botty are sticking out...but lord knows.

butterfly I often get pokings that make me "ooof". And then get paranoid that I've snapped a little leggy, but Abi seems to continue regardless.

Time for a trip in to town for my lactulose script!

Oeisha · 19/12/2011 10:29

I don't know why briefly seeing Jeremy Kyle on telly has reminded me of this, but had an epic fail with perineal massage lastnight. DH got really friggin stroppy about it as well as looking all deadly serious and Paul McCartney again.
Anyway, it felt like DH must have a clubbed finger. Checked his nails and he's taken them right down, so it's not that. No more discharge then usual. Was fine the night before, no pain, nothing.
Just really paranoid that DH won't give it another go now.

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 19/12/2011 11:12

Oeisha I'm going to attempt to do it myself this evening. I'm going to try one leg up on the side of the bath to see if I get enough access. OH is a bit squeemish about it and if I ask him to do it he will but I'd rather attempt it myself first so that I can either explain what to do better or tell him he HAS to, because I can't. I know that if it doesn't go well the first time he won't do it again.

I am a bit concerned as to why Jeremy Kyle reminded you of that though.......Xmas Confused

Oeisha · 19/12/2011 11:17

Me too parsley...me too. Xmas Hmm.
Have already tried myself...can do the outside ones, but not the inside ones without serious discomfort and someone bashing me...

mulledfishandfrostedlilacs · 19/12/2011 11:25

I have just been really sick-i have felt grotty all morning after early rising and poor sleep.

DH was here pottering. He ran me a bath I got in-had a nice soak then got out and puked rather a lot. It was just like morning sickness all over again-I was fine afterwards, had some toast and sat quiet. I'm tired but ok.

TMI ALERT: I'm bunged up again, took fybogel and lactulose (dr has advised me fybogel once a day lactulose 5 ml x3 a day) It was mostly the fybogel that came back up. Think i'm gonna have to go back to doctors again as neither medicine seems to be working all that well-i'm only pooing every 3 days and when I do it's hard and difficult to pass. I am drinking loads of water and eating dates and fresh fruit. I may get some prunes today-my nana used to swear by them. I really just want to have a nice normal evacuation and feel better after.

I have reflexology again in a minute, I am going to ask her to "stimlulate my colon" again as it worked well last week. In fact that was the last time I had a "nice refreshing poo" :)

mulledfishandfrostedlilacs · 19/12/2011 11:27

Grin I know why Jezz Kyle made you think of peri massage...it's because he's a total C...U..N Grin

Sorry-not feminist, or nice to Jez Kyle but it amused me :)

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 19/12/2011 11:46

Had my 36 wk appt with the MW today.

Sproglet is head down and 2/5 engaged, everything else is normal, I just need to stick it out until Thursday (and then not go massively overdue) and everything will be ticketyboo!

On the insomnia front - i've been up since 2am and am mildly delusional with tiredness nwo. Trying to figure out whether getting a delivery or asking DH to do the shop would be the lesser of the evils... I suspect there are no deliveries left this close to xmas though

FrillyMilly · 19/12/2011 11:50

fish have you tried having bran flakes type cereal, wholemeal bread and green veg like cabbage? Try sprouts whilst theres plenty in the shops! They are all supposed to help.

mulledfishandfrostedlilacs · 19/12/2011 11:52

frilly i have all bran or muesli almost everyday and we had savoy cabbage last week. Sadly nowt seems to be working. Figs are good, they worked well, but they are soo pricey at mo.

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 19/12/2011 11:53

syrup of figs...? You can make it up with dried figs I believe....

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 19/12/2011 12:07

Ouch, fish! I can't really help as I've been the opposite all the way through the pregnancy. Fx it will all be over soon!

Cakes is it early enough that a nap won't affect your sleep tonight? Even though I had a relatively good night I could kill for a zzzzz right now. ooh and great that sproglet has started to engage!

Like oeisha I'm not enjoying the reduced movement due to baby's size - I suppose not so much reduced as different - not many kicks, but stretching and shifting. Easier to fail to notice when I'm concentrating on other stuff which makes me worry more!

Have my '38 week' GP appt on thurs at 37 weeks, then my '36 week' MW appt at the birth centre on Christmas eve! I had some more HBs this morning too. Does anyone know if they only do internal exams when you're actually in labour? I still haven't had one, except when I was admitted for bleeding. Not that I'm keen to volunteer, you understand...

addictediam · 19/12/2011 12:12

Community mws don't tend to do internal exams unless they think there is a problem.

mulledfishandfrostedlilacs · 19/12/2011 12:15

ghost it's all a bit fuzzy to remember but I think they do internals to check dilation when you're labouring. Thye also broke my waters for me when i was induced but I was already contracting, so that was also an internal intervention. They put a monitor on DD's head too so that was also internal.

FrillyMilly · 19/12/2011 12:15

If your pregnancy is straight forward you won't have any internals until they check you in labour. Even if you have issues community midwives don't usually check you out. I've had bleeding a few times and had to go to maternity to be checked out and it was done by a doctor.

rednosedreindeerhead · 19/12/2011 12:21

Hello everyone, sorry I've been so absent. My OH got some hideous virus and has been throwing up for 48 hours Sad. I also got a last minute day long recording session yesterday and the money was too good to turn down, so i had to go and work even though i was DEAD from said OH wandering in and out of the bathroom all nights...

it's been a trying weekend......

but last night i slept like a log - thank god we just bought a sofa bed the other day so OH has been in another room - so i feel a bit more like a human today, as does he. And it's got us out of going to visit my parents today, so that always cheers me up!

my baby, having been the right way up and the right side for approx 2 months, has now decided to start shifting around... a lot... feels transverse like yours butterfly. i don't have an appmt now til 28th so i hope he keeps shifting and goes back where he belongs!!!

can't believe some of you are 38 wks - hold them in girls til xmas is done!!!

oeisha sorry you had trouble with the peri massage Blush - we keep putting it off....

hope you're feeling a bit better now fish Sad x

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 19/12/2011 12:21

Thanks frilly, fish, and addicted, that's what I thought. At least I know I don't have to wear something that's easy access to both my belly and my, ahem, undercarriage - bit cold for that at this time of year Grin

rednosedreindeerhead · 19/12/2011 12:22

you don't have to have internals in labour either unless you want them. i'm not planning on having any until I want one for whatever reason, cos I know they'll make me tense. too many colposcopies and biopsies in the past Sad

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 19/12/2011 12:23

Red there's definitely something hideous going around, hope you don't get it from your DH - there are quite a few people I'm having to avoid atm due to nasty germs. Glad you survived the work too.

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 19/12/2011 12:27

Red I'm keen on the pool for many reasons, but one is that they'll have to be damn sure they need to examine me if they're going to haul me out of there! I had a bath last night and it was bliss; really eased the HBs and i wasn't woken by them at all last night.

I can't work out where ppm is at all at the moment! Has been head down for weeks but not engaged and the squirms/flails are all over my bump...
