Hi all

Luckily not a Stilton fan so not an issue for moi :-)

Am 10 weeks today. Had booking in appointment 2 weeks ago. Thought would have got scan date by now? As would need to plan child care etc as family dont Live nearby and apparently children not welcome at scans?!

I'm sure someone else is in my area, am booked in to princess Anne Southampton.

Just could really do with the date as something to focus on when throwing up all day long!!!!! Envy

Dalrymps · 17/11/2011 15:26

Afternoon ladiesSmile

Rrrrayray Maybe the other ladies will give you an idea of what has happened with regards to children at their scans.. I just wanted to say when we had ds2 we took ds1 to all the scans. We just wheeled him in in his stroller, he was around 2 at the time. They seemed fine with it but don't know if that's just the case here? My sil took her ds the other week too.. We're planning to take ds2 to our first scan (next wed!) then ds1 to the 20wk one so they get one scan eachSmile

I'm 11 weeks today!Smile

ecstatica · 17/11/2011 15:30

Hello everyone,

Greengoose - You have your hands full, bless you! I hope DS will be feeling better and that you get a night to yourself, feet up in front of the box. I do think you'll be falling asleep before you get into any drama/soap/film though. Have a real good rest x

Florin - I would have been annoyed but that's just me and I get on perfectly well with MIL. He was however, probably just really excited to show her how progression is recorded etc.. (I think this is your first?) so he probably didn't think in any other way other than excited sharing news for his mum, if that makes sense :)

Well done those keeping food down. Today is day two of NOT vomiting but it feels imminent, my legs feel achy and I want to sleep.

Had booking appt today -- was lovely, student nurse and m/w both amazing. Notes seemed to take forever to fill in though. Hopefully just arrange first set of bloods now and get scan letter.

Hello to everyone on the thread DS2 is supplying me with plums and oranges bliss. x

greengoose · 17/11/2011 16:25

Hi all
Thanks ecstatica and other for sympathy! And glad you had a lovely booking today!

Its still a bit yuk here... Ds2 has been sick down the stairs (carpet) and in the dog bed Confused. He also found a pen and drew all over the couch cushions. (hes never done that before, guess he figured since I was doing laundry anyway)??! Im starving them in the hope they will 'run dry', although obviously keeping them hydrated. DP back at 10 pm. He is well and truely on shift for the next few nights, I dont care if hes been at work!!! (10am-4pm, then swanky hotel and nice meals, Id swap in a second)!

RE: Stilton... Ive been told that its fine now... seemingly only soft blue cheese carries the bugs?? Anyway, Ive had it, so Im not being too worried. I think its far more likely IME that MW and HCP are out of date than that the latest guidelines are somehow wrong?? They have re-written them with every one of my pregnancies....Hmm

RE: DCs at scans, we had DS1 with us (age4) for all of DS2s scans... nobody bothered. I guess it would be hard if it wasnt straightforward though? Think we will get childcare this time as my confidence is a bit shot...

Yippee! Feels very exciting to be adding my name to the list below. Haven't had a scan or booking appt yet so date may change.
Congratulations to all the ladies on here. This is our first, long-awaited, pregnancy. It's taken us 4 long years but managed on our own.
Had perpetual nausea from wk6 til last week so sympathies with everyone. I'm such a foodie that I managed to eat through the nausea (carb-tastic) and now have a fabulous wee bump!

Oh, and I also read that stilton was fine. I also found out that you can cook brie, soft blue cheese, feta etc and they're fine so planning my weekend dining around this good news!

Dalrymps · 17/11/2011 20:27

Ooh liking the idea of some
feta/filo parcels Smile thanks mrs

thedogwalker · 17/11/2011 21:01

Hi all
*Rrrrayray, I will be 10 weeks tomorrow, had booking in appointment last week and still not had scan date through yet. I feel the same as you, I want something to look forward to. I'm going to ring the hospital tomorrow, Salisbury General and see if I an registered yet and if I am then I'm going to sort my scan date as my work diary is filling up and I don't want to have double bookings. Work don't know I'm pg yet and I don't want to tell them yet so I can't just say no to appointments for no good reason.
I love cheese but thankfully none of the blue ones, so I just eat as much as I want. yum yum.

Welcome to all the newbies, this bus is very full and we are all just so excited Smile.
Hope everyone is well, take care and stay safe xx

Dalrymps · 18/11/2011 07:53

Morning ladiesSmile

Slept well but still tired, what's that about?! Probably the fact i'm growing a humanGrin

Feelings of bleurgh creeping up on me as usual.. Trying to fight them off with porridge...

How are we all?

Kayzr · 18/11/2011 08:20

Morning.

Mrskitchen. Isn't feta ok to eat anyway? I ate it all the way through the other 2 pregnancies. Ooops.

Rrrrayray · 18/11/2011 08:39

Dogwalker - I thought it was you who is nearby. Hope call goes well. I am
Going to call my midwife as am presently "out of area" for Southampton but will be moving to catchment area before due date.

Daryl - I have found porridge the only way to start the day. Won't stop me
Being sick, but seems to fend it off for a few hours.

Other suffering badly with sickness (ive lost 7 LB!!!!!!!!!) I'm finding fresh mango helps.

Wishing everyone a lovely day! X

JjingleBeanplusPudalltheway · 18/11/2011 10:01

Well I found out my 'seabands' which I swore by with ds and dd and they made me feel worse :(

I'm surviving by sucking mint imperials.

Warlin · 18/11/2011 11:33

Morning all!

What about baked Camambert? A fav of mine but have been avoiding since we found out? Like all good things I reckon it's prob a no go!
I saw an article that said Kate Midleton must be expecting because she said no to a peanut cookie! The pressure on that girl is unreal but what's this about peanuts...I didn't know I needed to avoid them?

So Friday is dress down day at work and my jeans are much tighter this week than last! Argghhh...even in the thigh/ bum area. I know I'm starting to get a tummy (which I'm pleased about) but am worried I'm starting to "spread"!

10 weeks today......2 more weeks til I can relax a bit!

Still no news on the booking apt....might chase up again as Consultant was to book me one. 4 weeks until next scan.

Hope everyone has a good day and a great weekend xx

LadyGrace, I'm eating sour sweets by the bucket load. It's about the only thing that keeps me feeling less sick.

ceeej · 18/11/2011 13:44

Only just managed to get myself going for the day as slept terribly and felt horrendous this morning, fingers crossed the weekend is a bit better.

greengoose I do hope your ds has got better, no idea how I would cope with cleaning up sick atm

mrskitchen huge congratulations

Warlin I'm assuming all cooked cheese is OK as the baking should have killed any bugs that were in there. The peanut thing is old advice which has been proved wrong, there is a discussion a few pages back on here if you want to read more.

Kayzr I thought feta was OK too, will ask if it's pasteurised next time I'm at the cheese shop

LadyGrace I've eaten a lot of salt and vinegar crisps too but they only work if dipped in cream cheese! Also liking cheddar and pickled onions, very retro.

WhyAlwaysBoris · 18/11/2011 14:07

Lady Grace and Kayzr i thought the sour sweets thing was just me! Oh the shame in Sainsburys of a woman of my age bulk buying Fizzy Fangs

Dalrymps · 18/11/2011 14:16

Lol at fizzy fangsGrin

I am also enjoying sour sweets and have to nibble them whilst collecting ds from nursery..

Mmm cheese and pickled onions sounds good. I had a craving for pickled eggs the other dayHmm I also REALLY want a BBQ chicken dominos pizza but the nearest branch is an hour awaySad

Kayzr · 18/11/2011 14:21

Ewwww at pickled eggs. Never seen the appeal with them. I really want some cheese and pickled onions on cocktail sticks now.

JjingleBeanplusPudalltheway · 18/11/2011 14:26

Natural confectionary co. Snakes.

Are amazing I can easily eat a whole bag --in a few minutes-- in an evening.

Dp cooked some sausages today, the smell I thought I was going to pass out.

Going to see twilight breaking dawn tonight Grin

Dalrymps · 18/11/2011 14:27

Lol kayzr I think that is the normal reaction people are supposed to have to pickled eggs. Unfortunately I seem to like themHmm

ecstatica · 18/11/2011 14:53

LOL at Fizzy Fangs....how that made me giggle! :)

My OH has been food poisoned It was totally unintentional must've been something he ate Hmm but we are all fine haven't been very sympathetic (he insists it was the spicy wraps i made him for his lunch yesterday and not the Thai curry he had night before when out with work) as I've started vomiting again, oh well, the two days of non-puking were great!

With each PG I automatically vomit on waking (so if i doze after lunch that is what happens, same if i go into bath or shower), does anyone else have this happen? Prob just me!

Never eaten blue cheeses, I am a Halloumi/Mozarella fan.

JJ Enjoy the movie -- is popcorn on the menu? And a big fizzy icy drink...drool.

Well, ever since I popped into the city centre the other day the smell coming from LUSH has had me craving bath bombs and goodies...so am hoping DH will arrive earlier than norm so I can go off and treat myself.
God, the little luxuries in life!

ceeej · 18/11/2011 15:10

In the interest of research I just bought a bag of Haribo tangtastic to see if they help!
