i wonder if the vouchers are all age related. you might not get them for another 4 weeks?

KLou111 · 20/01/2012 21:58

Oooo might be, am in the boots one.
Just been looking at car seats. The Kiddy Guardian Pro 2 takes our fancy, I'd bot heard of them before but the reviews are fab!!

Lol liz I think I may be teething haha! I was in bed watching tv at 8:30 last night! My stomach hurts, I feel sick. Cold amd sweating. Urgh feel sorry for myself.
And nick slammed the window shut last night which woke Joshie up do we had screaming for a hour trying to get him back to sleep :(

Lol at kennel cough for babies! Hope u feel better soon. It's horrid feeling I'll when you can't just go back to bed!

KLou111 · 21/01/2012 10:45

Bloody hell that's a good price iwish!! All the ones I've been looking at are £150+! Just liked that other one cos its group 1/2/3 so meant to last til they're 12, but can you honestly say a 10 year old will sit in a car seat versus a booster seat!!

OP posts:
KLou111 · 21/01/2012 11:36

Just shown it Rob and he said order it lol!! What a bargain! Did u get the isofix? If not, is it easy to put in as the video is for isofix and not bothered about getting that cos once its in the car its in lol!

OP posts:
Iwish · 21/01/2012 11:49

Lol no chance. If my mum and dad tried to get me in a car seat even at 8 I'd have gone mad! The seat seems really comfy etc. we have 2. One for each car.

Iwish · 21/01/2012 11:52

No we don't have issofix in our cars but it was v easy to put in.

Joshua is doing my head in today. He's screamed him head off for half a hour cos he's tired and wouldn't calm down do have had to put him in his bedroom screaming. He eventually shut up. Feel really mean but my head couldn't take much more screaming.

KLou111 · 21/01/2012 12:21

Is let him scream and walk away if he's that bad iwish you did, and it worked!!
Have you got it forward or rear facing?

OP posts:
KLou111 · 21/01/2012 12:22

I'd not is!!

OP posts:
KLou111 · 21/01/2012 12:26

Like you say aswell, you've not got isofix, so who's to say someone takes Euan out and if they've not got it, the car seat is a waste of time! I know we've got it, and both sets if parents have got new cars so assume they have, but they may not. I think the other one will be better (and cheaper :))

OP posts:
Iwish · 21/01/2012 12:34

We have it rear facing at the moment. Think they can go in forward facing around 18lbs. Nicks car has issofix but as you say other people may not have it so we got a normal one.

He fell asleep after his screaming fit and is still in bed now :)

KLou111 · 21/01/2012 13:44

Ah bless him.
Can you put it on either side of the car (sorry for all the questions lol!)

OP posts:
Iwish · 21/01/2012 15:00

Oohh I'm not sure. I suppose you could because the bits the seatbelt goes through are the same on both sides.....
It reclines a bit too so he can have a little nap :)

lizandlulu · 21/01/2012 20:29

thats a nice seat klou! dead cheap too!
how long did joshua sleep for iwish

well been out for tea, had to wait 10 mins for a table and there was nuts out on the bar, so me, being me, grabbed a handful of peanuts and rammed then in, turns out they wasnt nuts at all, but some god awful crispy things, i think them wasabi things, that must be what hell tastes likeGrin brought tears to my eyes andi nearly chocked! all chris could do was laugh at me!

Iwish · 21/01/2012 20:54

Lol liz!! Bet you weren't best pleased. But bet you won't do it again!
Joshua slept for just over a hour in his cot and got up for a feed. He did go back to sleep at about 3:15 till 4:45 then was in bed for 7:30.

lizandlulu · 21/01/2012 21:24

ohh heres hoping for a good night then.

we went to lincolln for tea, about 12 mile away, the baby slept on the way htere for about 15 mins at 5.30 and we left sat 7.40, so i tohught she would crash out on the way home, so i changed her in the restaurant so i could put her straight in her cot, but she stayed awake the whole way home! i couldnt believe it! especially in the dark too. i put her in her cot as soon as we got back and she shouted about twice and went to sleep.

every day i wonder how i got a good one this time!! and every day i say 'lulu was never like this'!

KLou111 · 22/01/2012 10:42

Lol Liz what you like. Violet is good bless her :) Thank god Euans turned out good too, prob will get a devil child next!

Euan was good last night again, woke at 5.30, I got straight up and put his dummy in as was knackered cos our neighbours got back at 3.30am and had a conversation in the courtyard!!! Not impressed. Anyway, I woke Euey at 8.15 :)
We have decided to start trying for number 2 in Dec so I will come off the pill November. I hope it doesn't take too long again, we were lucky this time. We just want to enjoy Euan for a little bit longer though and don't want him pushed to the side too much. He's such a sweetie, god I love him so much!!!
Met a lady swimming the other day and she has a little girl just turned 1, started trying when 9 months, she's due in June lol!! So it can happen quick the second time too!!

lizandlulu · 22/01/2012 18:36

good luck to you if thats what you want to do. i cant see why you would have any problems. they can grow up playing otgetherSmile

is anyone elses mumsnet slow in typing? my computer is fine with everything else but takes forever to put the words onto the screen?

SpaghettiTwirlerAndProud · 22/01/2012 20:11

liz have you got the whole conversation open or just the last page? That might be why it's slow.
Tbh I would have laughed at the wasabi things too Blush sorry :o

Blimey klou number 2? I'm sticking with 1 I reckon. The thought of having poppy as a toddler and as a baby at the same time fills me with horror! She is far too demanding and needy, it's enough to put anyone off having any at all!
Isofix is in every car made after 05, it's a legal requirement to have it in cars with an 05 plate and above.

How is joshua today iwish? It's so tiring when they constantly cry all day isn't it? It wears you down so much. I like that carseat. Fab bargain or what!?

Well it was my brothers wedding yesterday, I don't like his new wife at all. She doesn't seem genuine. I've only met her once, back in 2010 when he brought her to meet the family, at my great uncles funeral Hmm

KLou111 · 22/01/2012 20:47

Lol melly :) meeting your bros wife at a funeral!!!
Mad aren't we lol! Euan is so good, we've been so lucky, he will be a fab older brother :) thankfully we've not had any continuous crying, and he doesn't really demand. I think the most he cried was an hour and half when he was a few days old!! He does have his moments where he screams for us, but its for attention if he's been on his own too long lol!
I thought we were for it when he was teething, but even that didn't really bother him.
Next one will bite us in the ass no doubt!!

KLou111 · 22/01/2012 20:49

I must say though, the few nights I spent in his nursery at 10 weeks did almost put me off. I can't remember why I did that now, think he kept just waking for his dummy lol!

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 22/01/2012 21:11

how do you just keep the last page open?

klou and melly you 2 being seasoned weaners, do you take lucnh out with you if you go out for the day, and if you do, do you give them it warm? and if you do that, how do you warm it?

i bought one of them thermos foogo flask things today. 18 blummin quid!!!!! but needs must. i looked at htem in lakeland and didnt get one, then got stressed when she would eat her dinner cold, so went back and got one, so i can warm it up in the morning and it will still be warm when she wants it. its abit big, slightly fatter then a bean tim, but i couldnt find a smaller one, had enough trouble finding that one!

SpaghettiTwirlerAndProud · 22/01/2012 22:20

liz at the top of the conversation, just below the thread title, are a few buttons, one of them says 'show pages' click that, then in the purple strip where it says how many pages and posts there are, click 'last'.

Don't ask me about weaning. We're not doing brilliantly at all. Poppy will eat other things now besides fruity custards but only finger foods. I'd just chuck a custard pot and spoon in the changing bag tbh if we were out during mealtimes!

klou it wasn't really something to lol about. My grandma had spent the past 13 years visiting her brother in the nursing home every week. He was there because he had a massive stroke and was basically a vegetable. He didn't know anyone, couldn't talk, feed or dress himself, couldn't go to the loo, he couldn't do anything. He died at the grand old age of 65. My grandma was devastated and my brother was ridiculously insensitive.

KLou111 · 23/01/2012 09:20

Sorry melly didn't mean to cause offence :( 65 is no age is it???

Liz I usually heat veg before we go out and Euan will eat veg warm, room temp or once it's cool, and fruit and yoghurt cold so I don't worry about that. If you're using jars, I'd just feed her straight from the jar temp wise. Otherwise stick the jar or pot in some hot water to warm it.
Euan had 24oz milk yesterday so back to normal. He did 7pm-7.15am, dummy in til 7.45am, drank all his milk and ate all his porridge and fruit! Think his appetite is well and truly back!!
