LP you are still really early days and as everyone else said - different tests have different amounts of dye in (even different batches of the same brand will vary)and the amount/concentration of HCG in your wee will also vary.

They aren't telling you anything - even if you did have a MC they would continue to show a positive result. Go by the fact that you haven't had any pain or copious bright red bleeding (both of which can be ok in some pregnancies as well). Early scans don't show much before 6.5/7 weeks and I think it's a bit pointless having them before that as you might not see the heartbeat and this may panic you. Hang in there, I know this stuff is completely mental making.

Where is everyone??

Waves pompoms for truffs - any news from cervix watch yet?

How about you laura still have everything crossed for you.

Truffkin · 19/11/2011 12:58

I know Kat it's like people have lives or something! So rude.

In cervix watch news I think I may be starting to lose my mucus plug, although no bloody show yet am hoping it's A Good Sign that things will progress on their own. Am having a nice bounce now to help things along

I'd quite like my baybee to arrive tomorrow for the birth date 20.11.2011 so I'm fairly certain it will be another week of waiting Grin I am late for everything so can't complain at all.

KatAndKit · 19/11/2011 13:00

Ooh that would be a good birthdate! Time to keep bouncing and have sex and curry all day long?

BrownB · 19/11/2011 14:12

Hey Truffs! Losing your mucus plug huh...? Keep bouncing.

LP - I don't think we've been officially introduced, but am keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you. In my first 12 weeks it seemed like time was standing still. It was pure torture. I'd had two miscarriages and the first scan I had was at 6 weeks (or so). There was a blood clot in the way so they couldn't see anything much. Rescanned a week later, and I was steeled for the worst, but turned out there was a heartbeat. She's now wriggling about in my tummy and at 31 weeks it feels like it may actually happen!!

And as for you BugsLife - I think Alps said something to me about morning sickness when I was at your stage of pregnancy that ran along the lines of... "Just wait. Seems everyone falls ill at about 7+2." I scoffed, and my nausea started at 7+3.

BrownB · 19/11/2011 14:12
AlpinePony · 19/11/2011 14:52

Helloooo. Ooh truffs, sounds like things are happening. What are your current views on cleaning?

I'm doing fine, I have a scan and another consultant appointment on tues. I also need to get more blood tests done as they're searching really hard for GD. ;)

Laura how are you doing today?

bugger you will start feeling grim soon enough. ;)

I'm still sleeping in the recovery position/tummy, what's everyone else doing?

OP posts:
Medee · 19/11/2011 19:37

ooh, hope things move soon, truffs.

MadameBoo · 19/11/2011 23:20

Oooh, mucus plug Truffs?

KatAndKit · 20/11/2011 09:28

bugger if you are really lucky like me you will escape the MS. I have had very little nausea. Just occasionally, I can't eat something I normally like. No sickness though.

alps they seem determine to prove there is something wrong with you don't they? Wankers. I am trying to learn to sleep on my side but arm squashing isn't very comfortable and I still wake up on my back. Despite wedging myself in a veritable cloud of rolled up quilts and pillows.

brownie nice to see you back around these parts. Can't believe how fast the time has gone, I remember when you got your win and it certainly doesn't seem like that long ago.

BrownB · 20/11/2011 11:27

Pineapple in vindaloo sauce sounds quite nice actually...

As for sleeping positions - I'm still using the recovery position as part of the limited repertoire available to differs.

Re MS - I have pretty much got my taste buds back - which is great! I spent the best part of 5 months unable to eat salad, which doesn't sound like a problem until you're actually there. Wink

Hello all.. sounds like things are ramping up in Truffland. I am in awe at your zen like attitude, and not being phased if it turns up late. I shall attempt to copy this later on.

Bugger be careful what you wish for is the motto re. commenting on no sickness...I had some days of over 20 pukes, simultaneously pissing myself and nearly choking on vomit and over a month off work. Yum.

I finish work this week which feels very very strange.

Does anyone have any advice about swimming in pregnancy? I'm really enjoying it but my pelvis does hurt afterwards. I know you are supposed to limit your breaststroke leg flapping (technical term) but how else are you supposed to do it?

Good luck tomorrow Alps.

LP how are faring missus? Hope all is distinctly non spotting and ok in your pants.

Ocarina · 21/11/2011 11:54

Just popping in to join cervix watch.

BB I am a lazy cow have no idea about swimming I'm afraid but am impressed at your continued exercising! Is doing crawl less painful than breast stroke? Butterfly?! (The ! cos I've never been able to work out how on earth people do butterfly at all - you're probably a master at it).

Truffkin · 21/11/2011 12:23

Well, nothing doing here after me thinking something was on Saturday. Sorry to get your hopes up for a new baybee! Saw MW this morning and she was all 'oh you're seeing the consultant tomorrow so they'll do a sweep and book you in for induction' it wasn't my usual MW and I don't mind saying I wasn't keen Smile

I explained that I understand in principle the risks associated with both induction and going past term and am still reluctant to agree to induction based purely on hospital policy. She did seem to understand that making decisions based on my actual circumstances rather than general policy makes sense, so that felt like a breakthrough!

Of course I am really hoping this is all entirely academic and baybee will put in an appearance of its' own accord to save Mommy the hassle of battling with HCPs.

The bab is very wriggly today, doing a lot of rib bumming - ouch. I'm feeling lazy and appear to be welded to the sofa watching Homes Under the Hammer on iplayer Grin

Hi laydees. I've moved back over to the other fred - my P is back to being a B. Thanks for the virtual hand-holding, appendage crossing and gin.

I will continue to lurk check in so I can welcome the lovely new PESH baybees.

KatAndKit · 21/11/2011 17:43

Here's hoping you will be back here in a very short while.

so sorry to hear that, Laura.

BrownB · 21/11/2011 22:46

So sorry LP - I left flowers for you on the other thread...

What have other ESH's done about counting movements of their babies? I have NO IDEA whether the amount of tumbles, whirls, and shuffles going on in my tummy is optimal or not. I am trying not to fret, and think there are enough going on that I shouldn't need to. I am somewhat reluctant to get as obsessed about it as What To Expect suggests you should. [Take a regular time in the morning and another hour in the evening and count how long it takes for your baby to make ten movements... if it's over an hour, have a lie down, drink a cold drink and count some more. If it takes longer than that, then go speak to your midwife... FFS - does anyone else work for a living? To me this smacks of another of those arse-covering "we warned you to be perfect" head-fuckery patronise-the-pregnant-lady pieces of advice. You know the sort...]

BarbiesBeaver · 22/11/2011 09:38

LP I hope you are back here soon and the physical bit is over quickly. I was also treated for recurrent m/c after 2 m/c and given Heparin and Aspirin this time just in case. I'm glad the Dr's are looking after you properly.

Brownie my MW said to count 10 movements in an hour, starting from the first movement if you see what I mean. And those movements count even if they are little flips, rolls, stretches or whatever. But I agree, if you are busy then you don't have time to do this or pay attention, and some days the baby is quieter than others.

Occers if only I could do butterfly! Although the sight of me propelling my belly along in that fashion might cause distress in the elderly folk at the pool.

BrownB · 22/11/2011 09:43

Anyone know what's happening with Truffs?

Ocarina · 22/11/2011 11:40

So sorry LP. Look after yourself, and take advantage of all the ESH support you need.

Brownie I was never very good at the counting movement thing. My midwife was only ever interested in whether I'd felt 10 or more movements in a 24 hour period. I ended up keeping a vague note of what was going on each day so I could compare, but unless there's a drastic change I wouldn't worry. Things do change from day to day with different positions, and with just the baby having a particularly wriggly/sleepy day. And some babies are wrigglier than others so what's normal for one person might be unusual for another.
