This ache is your innards probably. I had mega pains in the bump zone last night. But i had a great big poo this morning and it was muuuuuch better after that. The gas and constipation is a killer. And even though I know what it is, every time I still panic that it is something going wrong with the baby.

Just a quick note Boo to say that if I had to stay preggers for another 11 months, I really could not be held responsible for my actions. I would also be very worried about giving birth to a baby that had been cooked for 20 months - ouch Grin

MadameBoo · 13/11/2011 13:34

Oh shit - I added on a year didn't I? What a dope! :o

LauraPalmer · 13/11/2011 20:50

hi y'all

well this (post-MC) early updiffedness business is just excruciating. dark brown spotting and cramps have continued, and I've been on menkuling knicker-watch since I got my BFP on Friday. you would think that 4 +POAS (3 FR and 1 posh CBD) would make me a bit more confident, but...no. I want to get to the happy nekkid dancing bit. I want to celebrate my new-found PESHness, ffs.

remind me why I decided to give up drinking??? (nothing updiffness-related, mind you - just personal reasons, ie. I was lushing it up way too much)

KatAndKit · 13/11/2011 20:54

laura I believe I must have done approximately 20 tests and I did not believe them properly until the 6 week point. Go and see a GP about the bleeding tomorrow. You might get an early scan arranged for when you are 6 weeks if you are lucky. it's normal to be very cautious about the nekkid dancing at first. Start off with dancing in your bra and knickers!

My belly is not gorgeous unfortunately. It has grown its first stretch marks this weekend :( Looks a treat with all the injection bruises!!

Don't bother with measuring. Is a 34 uncomfortably tight? I am bigger than you and I wear a 34. There is NO WAY that you are a 38. M & S are notorious for shit sizing. Also the tape measure system does not work. You have to try the bra on and check that it fits right.

Your ribcage will expand during pregnancy eventually, but only when you have a massive bump! It is your cup size that is more likely to have gone up now.

KatAndKit · 13/11/2011 21:00

Looking on facebook I doubt you are even as much as a 34!

mucho hand holding, yes Buggery.

go get a proper bra fitting at John Lewis - it's free and the little old grannie that did mine was brilliant. ended up wearing a size I would never have expected...I walked in wearing a 34AA and left with a 36B!!! I am 5'7.5ish, thin and extremely flat-chested.

I'll call my GP tomorrow, KittenKit - thank you for pushing me towards that. I think I've been feeling like it's so early (only 4+3) that I should wait until I hit 6 wks to book, iyswim. Silly me, I will call in the am.

feel free to PM me if you want to meet up while you're in the big smoke Buggery

I'm off to bed, too. ver ver exhausted these days...

AlpinePony · 14/11/2011 07:37

Laura I hope you're doing OK today. Verrrrry tired is a great sign - it means your hormones are on the rampage rather than dissipating! :) Try and look on the positive in all of this - and ignore me if I'm getting too "glass half full" on your ass! Wink Spotting of old blood happens and we've more than one ESH who's had it.

bugsy I've talked about your boobs on the BESH fred. Grin I lasted about 48 hours on the Feb antenatal babydust-flying thread before I had to hide it. Bunch o' jobbies. And they will be your fellow mums at the school gates.

My philosophy on finding out the sex was that it is a surprise, whether you find out at 16 weeks following amnio, whether your sonographer takes an educated guess at 12 weeks or whether you find out fo sho at 20 weeks. Unless of course your name is Victoria Adams. Wink I wanted to know, because I wanted to know as much about my baby as I could - which probably makes me sound mental.

barbie I'm not sure what the hell is going on with my hospital, but when I phoned back to request my next appointment (department was closed once my meeting last week was finished...), they asked which consultant I'd like to see. I said I didn't care as long as it was a different one... receptionist laughed. Hmm I'm feeling really torn as it is and had a couple of thoughts over the weekend about VBAC (positive thoughts I mean). I just come out in hives at the thought of brain-damaging my baby. We/he would not have survived a vaginal birth last time.

truffs How are you feeling? How's your cervix? As far as moving house goes, you will survive on auto-pilot for the first 4 weeks anyway. Just make sure you know where your precious valuable stuff is and pay someone else to deal with it all.

Ocarina · 14/11/2011 11:51

Alps remind me, was your cs last time cos of PE or something similarly nasty? So if the same happened again then it'd be straight to cs again? Just thinking that you could plan a VBAC assuming you avoid any complications, with the assumption that if anything looks in the slightest high risk you go straight to cs. Of course I would entirely understand if you opted for elcs this time, but if you're thinking about a VBAC then there's no reason to assume that you'd be at the same risk this time as last, and if you were then you wouldn't end up attempting it anyway.

I'm not sure that makes sense.....

  • welcome to the madness. Menkulling is par for the course round here.
AlpinePony · 14/11/2011 12:01

ocarina it does make sense and in theory that sounds ok, but I'm scared my definition of risk/wrong might be different to their's. :/ last time I had severe pe, was induced, induction went badly, failure to progress and decelerations in both of us. Emcs called within 90 mins of first contraction that I felt. I can discuss this with them.

Truffkin · 14/11/2011 16:10

Yo biatches, nothing doing here but with still 4 days before I' even due, I can't complain!

I've been for reflexology this morning so am hopeful that might help to kick start things, am booked in again on Thursday if no changes by then. I've got nothing planned for tomorrow and then have to take my car to the garage on Wednesday before it is inspected and collected by the lease company on Thursday and Friday respectively. This clearly means that I will go into labour on Wednesday and not get home until Saturday, just so the best laid plans get blown out of the water Grin

We went to see the birth centre on Saturday and it is lufferly, as was the midwife I met who runs it. Very down to earth and the whole place is more like a hotel than a hospital, which is what I like about it. She called TGB 'Derrick' and then 'Gareth' which was highly amusing, especially as she asked me if I had made sure that 'Gareth knew what is packed in your bag as we might ask him to fetch things for us' I responded with 'I'm hoping that Gareth is not in the room whilst I'm giving birth' which made her laugh although she was a bit embarrassed and then a bit later TGB said he would be 'out in the corridor chatting to Gareth at that point' when she talked about taking the placenta home and burying it under a newly planted tree Shock

In spite of all of that, I really love the big, private rooms with birth pools and various equipment. Am really hoping to use the swedish birthing chair, birth balls, bean bags etc. They have a piece of fabric hanging from the ceiling near the stool / chair that you can hold on to if you want to remain standing during labour and it reminded me of those things you see in circuses when performers do routines dangling off them. Could be interesting! The really nice bit was the birth ball attached to a base unit with a specially shaped chair behind for TGB to sit in and be perfectly positioned for back massaging - yum.

Of course, I'll be the woman who cannot bear anyone near me and just wants to lie on the bed the whole time, sod's law!

Hee hee Truffs love the Gareth/Derrick confusion :o (although when you're off your face on gas and air you may end up calling him one of those names anyway Wink).

BarbiesBeaver · 15/11/2011 10:56

Wow Truffs that place sounds amazing! Book me in pliz. You can even call be DerekGareth if you like.

We have a lovely new midwife unit attached to the main labour ward down here but I'm not sure I'll be allowed to birth there. Apparently because I am shit at getting pregnant/early pregnancy it means I am consultant led so will have to go to the main labour ward which is more hospitally and only one birthing pool. I am trying to argue my way out of this though as it makes no sense.

Had 34 week midwife appointment yesterday - baby is head down and bumming my ribs which is nice.

Alps when are you next seeing your consultant? They really should be supporting you in what you want out of the birth.

MadameBoo · 15/11/2011 13:14

I agree that's a bit wierd Sindysbits. Surely having problems getting a baybee in does not instantly mean there will a problem getting a baybee out? Confused

Truffkin · 15/11/2011 20:03

Bugger Clapham Common can be quite naice, it's not too far out of town and although all of London has naice bits next to scummy bits, I'm sure you'll be safe to wander around! What do you have planned for the weekend? I am certain I won't have my baybee by then so might stalk you Grin

Barbie it is pretty speshul, part of the reason we decided to move after the arrival of Mini Truff rather than before. Back in Brum I have never heard of anyone using a MW-led birth centre and it's not an option offered by the NHS trust we would fall within after moving. Am just keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes to plan so I can give birth there. I've had a lot of rib-bumming, which is not pleasant!! I was a bit worried yesterday when the bab was not as active as usual, but have continued to feel movement just not as much as normal (not as big, whole body stretches that had become usual) but I'm assuming that is because it's getting ready to come out - come on baybee!

I am very pleased to be considered low risk, as throughout this pg HCPs have been determined that I wouldn't be so am pleased to have had a pretty text book pregnancy.

LauraPalmer · 15/11/2011 21:23

I can't stop reading bad stories on the internet and I saw my GP yesterday but I'm still brown-bleeding so basically at the moment I am so freaked out that I can barely type. And I'm confused because I don't want to post on BESH fred with my updiffered-worries but I can't really muster any charm or sass to think/write about anything other than I am really into some deep menkulling.

Sorry for the lame-o me me me...
