Another thread!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
GroovyRach · 22/09/2011 18:18

No, that's good to hear sassy. Does just feel like possibly something ive ate, maybe my soup I made earlier Confused. Clutching at straws now lol!

Thanks anyway! x

Scheherezade · 22/09/2011 18:51

oh that's exciting groovy - am very very jealous if it means things are moving! Crossing fingers for you :)

Bad news from me unfort- nightmare wait in clinic. ECV next week are fully booked, so they've booked me in to have it done the week after at THIRTY NINE weeks! Stuff that for a lark. It's not likely to work, is going to hurt, and if I go into labour before then I'll be having a c-sec. So am going to rin gmy midwife tomorrow, get them to just book the c-sec, cancel the ECV and have done with it (I get the choice).

Really didn't want a c-sec, can't face the torturous recovery period :(

sunface · 22/09/2011 18:57

Hey groovy i have been getting similar sounding toilet visits for the last few days and first thing in the morning too, when i've not even eaten anything for 10hrs or so?! I don't really remember as much 'emptying' during my last pregnancy at this stage, so i've no idea what's going on... Woke up this morning with really bad lower back pain, which is what normally indicates baby on the way for me, but it's eased off during the day and i just feel kinda normal again... another sign for me last time was really crampy period pains in my lower back and tummy..

38+4 today

sassy34264 · 22/09/2011 20:18

i just looked back at the week before twins were born on the sept 10 thread and im asking everyone what it feels like when the baby is engaged as i had a dragging feeling in my private area- like something was hanging heavy. but when i had an appointment 3 days later the mw said twin 1 wasnt engaged. and i also put that i was getting loads and loads of braxton hicks. i mentioned that my belly was hard the whole time i was shopping around tesco.

i was induced with dd1 cos i was 13 days overdue, so i never got any signs of imminent labour.

will be looking out for some this time, but to be truthful i dont feel like anything is going to be happening for quite a few weeks. i can see me going all the way. if i can stretch to fit 14lbs of babies, i can stretch to the 40 week mark with this one- groan.

BB3 · 22/09/2011 20:27

Phew - just read up and now going to spend some time catching up while the kids sleep.

bilblio You feeling any better with the slip. Yay for mat leave - and your colleagues did make me laugh. Go rescue your plant! Bless DD making cards - so lovely

Groovy I would take the high road, continue to text him all the key things and if he chooses not to respond or be an idiot about it you have done everything you can. It's his choice. I had an u[set tummy frequently in the run up to the birth (for about a week-two weeks). With DS I contracted in my back, like it was rippling from spine round hips and this time It was lower tummy up my sides s both completely different pains. Both times started with really bad period cramps.

sassy Don't complain abour moaning, christ you are doing so well. Is there anyone that could come and sit with the twins for an hour or so so you can get some rest? Is there anyone else that could come with you as back up in case DH is not back? Pesky chocolate - you be careful with that, it often jumps into your mouth as well as your basket!

monkey how were the cupcakes?

Awen talking of silly brains, after a looong night last night was sat watching the girls at about 2.30 this morning and suddenly thought to myself - Oh God, I haven't felt the babies moving today Shock Blush Grin DUH!!! I was sat there looking at the two of them and still wondering why on earth I hadn't felt them inside! That sandwich is quite impressive!

happy good idea about moving place to meet - some people don't really get the logistics of it all.

Scheh that sounds a bit rubbish although from personal experience so far CS is easier recovery than the internal stitches of my VB.

emmazed fingers crossed he comes soon x

Merav DH once took 6 hours to get back to me after 5 messages and three calls - He was in more trouble than he had ever known and from that point called me every hour! I desperately want my hair done now the girls are here but it's on my list to book in.

PA Hope you are ok.

Thanks for all the well wishes. Today has been a bit tougher - I am very tired after three nights of no or limited sleep (0 Monday night, 4 Tuesday and 3 last night) but still in love with the girls and DS. Have had a day FULL of visitors and it's been so tough, tomorrow is relatively free bar a drs appointment with DS and the mw three day check for the girls so hoping to get more rest then.

Anyway off to close my eyes for ten minutes before the next feed time x night all xxx

cheekydino · 22/09/2011 20:31

Just quick update - am proud mummy to Elodie Katherine, born this am by emergency cs under a general after placenta detached whilst I was mid message on this thread!! Ambulance called and gave birth an hour later. She is gorgeous and a hefty 8lbs 14.
Smile

CheshireDing · 22/09/2011 20:38

Er congratulations Cheeky, that one was a surprise! :)

Impressive size, Elodie sounds like she was definitely ready.

MamaMaiasaura · 22/09/2011 20:39

Cheekydino - wow how exciting and scary too I bet. Huge congratulations :) xxxx

Bb3 - lol and the feeling kicks after. Wow tho, massive post on here and youve been busy. No wonder u r tired. Hope u get some good sleep xx

PenguinArmy · 22/09/2011 21:00

cheeky massive (pun intended) congratulations. Hope recovery goes well.

I posted here tbh I don't why I found it as upsetting as I did. Even if I agree to VB at least it is because I will be reassured rather than being told to.

GroovyRach · 22/09/2011 21:02

cheeky wow! Massive congratulations!! Welcome to the world little girly Grin

sassy34264 · 22/09/2011 21:18

cheeky huge congratulations. love love love the name. im really into e names for a girl- i want esme or emme but dp having none of it.
great weight too. cant believe they are all girls so far.

sassy34264 · 22/09/2011 21:42

penguin he sounds like an egotistical prick. so sorry he has upset you. if the problem is that you are worried about recovering from a c section, i wouldnt if i was you. its not that bad at all. obviously some recovery quicker than others, just like with a vb but ive had 2 and i wouldnt have any anxieties about having another. i have more anxieties about a vb. im a bit like you, in that i dont know which way to jump either. i want a vb for speedier recover, what with having to look after twin toddlers and also for selfish reasons- i want to start training and going the gym again asap. but im really worried about the chances of rupturing the scar- esp as i have big babies. its a dilema. i have my consultant appointment about it next wed. gonna make my decision then. i think im likely to play it by ear too be truthful. if i go into labour naturally i will be all set to give vb a go and if i have to be induced- ill just go straight for the c section.
obviously i havent had a vb so have no direct experience but as someone says on your thread, it is pushing when the head is easing out that causes the tearing. could you speak to the midwives and ask if there is someway to get them to really focus heavily on that time so you are massively aware of when not to push. iyswim- like make a big song and dance about it, so it isnt missed by you? i can imagine with all the activity and groaning and maybe talking that it could all go past in a blur.

bb3 so pleased to hear all is going well. i was lucky in the first few weeks that cause they were prem they just slept and slept, so i could too. it was after that, that it got a lot harder for me.

Fleecy · 22/09/2011 22:00

Wow, congratulations cheekydino - that was a surprise (not that you had a baby obviously, just not expecting the news quite yet!).

penguin I have just read your other thread and I'm sorry he upset you so much. What a nasty attitude! Don't let him get to you - sounds like you'll get the birth you want so don't be afraid to stick to your guns.

BabCNesbitt · 22/09/2011 22:01

cheeky, congratulations! Beautiful name! Hope you recover well :)

TallyBear · 22/09/2011 22:07

Another girl! Well done Cheeky.

Who's going to be the first 'October' boy....

One more day of work!! Yay, so excited. So ready to go now. Bought a few big tins of chocs to take in. Was hoping to finish early tomorrow but so much work to finish off I think I'll be staying late instead.

Does anyone else still working notice that their bump is more active on work days than weekends? I notice he moves so much more when I'm at work. Hope he keeps it up once I've finished or I will constantly be on edge.

Having a nightmare with all the deliveries at the moment. I organised them for Monday when I'm off but they keep trying to deliver this week - even though I keep telling them we won't be in and to come back on Monday. We had a note today to say we'd have to collect one from the depot (60 mile round trip) but luckily when I called to blow a fuse they admitted it had received my request to redeliver on Monday and they'd messed up. Grrrr! And Boots delivered the wrong car seat rain cover..... Still, almost there...

35+4

PenguinArmy · 22/09/2011 22:14

I have a esme :)

PenguinArmy · 22/09/2011 22:18

thanks btw, I will see how it goes with those MWs and see what birth plan comes out of it. Consultant has referred me to post-natal physio and perineum clinics regardless so at least current issues may start to resolve themselves. I'm so glad DH was there and he thought he was a dick. It was DH who told him to leave the room for 5 mins otherwise I would have given in there and then and not found out about other things they can do to help and also gone into labour a lot more scared.

mpops · 22/09/2011 22:22

cheekydino, congratulations! Blimey, that sounds crazy. Glad you're both doing well and all the best for your recovery. Elodie is such a beautiful name!

mpops · 22/09/2011 22:24

38+1, by the way.

And DH still not back from Greece as his flight was delayed and he missed his connecting flight. Another night on my own... :(

penguin, good luck, hope it all goes alright and that you feel more confident.

bilblio · 22/09/2011 22:41

cheekydino Congratulations! Take it easy and hope you recover quickly.
I started my labour off whilst posting on my ante-natal thread last time too. :)

Penelope1980 · 22/09/2011 23:01

cheekydino congrats! How exciting. And I imagine quite stressful with the ambulance call out and all.

I think I experienced the popping thing! Can't remember who mentioned in earlier, but I did get it earlier, twas weird. It didn't last long though.

Hope everyone gets a good sleep - am very crampy today, but it's constant rather than coming in waves so am trying not to get hopes up although repeating my mantra of the week that every pain has to be helping in some way Smile

Scheherezade · 22/09/2011 23:11

bb3 that is hilarious! I can't imagine how strange it must feel now they are out and at home :)

Good point re recovery times, I just want to be back riding asap! My options are breech birth (ouch) ecv at 39wks, or c-sec. Going to ring midwife tomorrow I think as felt very rushed in clinic today, not used to having to wait with other patients as this was just a routine scan! She didn't even seem bothered when I mentioned bleeding, just said I'd have plenty of warning if it was labour as it's a first pregnancy!

BB3 · 23/09/2011 00:15

CONGRATULATIONS cheeky what a beautiful name - wow but fast hope you managed to get someone with you!

Huge congrats again - wow so far we have girls, c-sections and placental problems dominating the birth list! Grin

BB3 · 23/09/2011 00:21

penguin I haven't managed to read your thread but will do asap just wanted to say take your time to think about everything that was said in the meeting today, (regardless of chappy's bad attitude), talk to others and then review your decision and make sure it's right for you.

So its past midnight and I'm led on my bed with two gorgeously scrumptious girls on my chest sleeping after a big feed and they refuse to go in their Moses baskets. Little minxes. I should make them so i can get some sleep but I'm enjoying the snuggles too much - don't give me any sympathy when I complain about being tired tomorrow! WinkBlushGrin

BB3 · 23/09/2011 00:22

Oh was thinking we did birth stories on my previous antenatal thread and I loved reading all the stories - shall we do them and if so on this or birth thread?
