feeling absolutely rubbish today :(

was in pain all night, thought that i must be having proper contractions, but i guess not. now i feel like everything hurts! just when i think that it can't get any worse, it does!

sorry for the whinging, just needed to get it out.

sorry for the others that are suffering too...if there wasn't a baby at the end of this, it just wouldn't be worth it!

so thankfully 37 weeks today, going to celebrate with DH when he comes home, i even got cupcakes from hummingbird, yum!

happymummytobe · 22/09/2011 12:43

monkeybubbles what a great way to celebrate 37 weeks! Cupcakes, mmm... I'm 37 weeks tomorrow - might have to copy you Wink

I'm feeling more normal today although I had less sleep. About to head of to consultant appt and find out about CS. Will pop back later with update

MamaMaiasaura · 22/09/2011 13:03

Oh my, had small appetite all preg really and just got big hunger. Had scrambled eggs, tuna, philli ontop of tuna, 3 little sausages, tomatoes, bread and grapes. Sounds revolting tasted amazing (till burped Blush) Think I must want protien lol.

SconesForTea · 22/09/2011 13:28

Afternoon ladies, commiserations to everyone feeling rubbish I had another fairly rubbish night, lots of wee trips and not getting back to sleep afterwards. I had to wake DH and ask him to stop fidgeting as it was doing my head in Blush Luckily he is a very even-tempered fellow and just apologised and went back to sleep.

I wish I was on ML! I've been stuck in with a sick toddler all week and I'm nearing the end of my tether. I never thought I'd say this, but I would much rather be at work Sad It is honestly easier than looking after a child, a sick child anyway. Commiserations to your House of Lurgy sassy you deserve a medal for coping without your DP.

Also he deserves a red card for not cancelling the Dubai trip Angry If someone else could go while he's on PL, someone else could go full stop. Can you put your foot down?

Fleecy wow I've heard of quick labours but that's amazing.

Awen great going for feeding throughout your pg. My milk dried up at about 20 weeks so I had to wean DD; I was sad at the time but right now I'm quite pleased it's one less thing I have to do!

Ah mustn't forget BB3 what lovely names for your girls. I hope you're getting lots of rest.

PA good luck with your CS chat.

Well, as DD isn't awake yet, I'm going to eat more biscuits! Sending strong labour vibes to all those who might be starting...

GroovyRach · 22/09/2011 13:29

Well, my wee gin and coke done sod all Envy. Weird tho to be having some alcohol! Last time i had a drink was New Years Eve!!! And even at that, was only a few as i got a terrible headache so stopped. Madness!!
We are all totally in the same boat here eh?! I never fell asleep till some time after 4.30am then got a text from my mum at 9.30 asking if there was any sign on little lady yet?! Wanted to scream, I can't function on so little sleep Sad. Must start putting my phone on silent at night. Hopfully early to bed tonight but if wee one decides to come, then I'm sure I could make an exception Grin

Well, I'm gonna have a quick clean up, but on some homemade lentil soup and catch up with some trashy tv. Maternity leave ain't that bad eh?!

38+4 getting there!!

CheshireDing · 22/09/2011 13:29

Pebble what a naughty cat! Grin Do you think it was trying to make a point about not wanting to be second fiddle to the baby? Our Nursery furniture smells a bit but I like it, it's like a new smell. I have just washed everything and put it away but we are obsessed with open windows so maybe a bit of air through the house will help.

Bilblio I would go and get your plant, just either pop in first thing or last thing so you can be in and out if you are like me because once I finish next Thursday I don't want to go back!

Sheh glad you got some storage sorted :)

37+1 weeks I might need jelly babies to celebrate or a piece of Guinness Cake.
5 days left at work

wheelshavefallenoffthebus · 22/09/2011 13:50

Groovy some physiotherapists like myself are acupuncture trained too. There are lots of other options for SPD like osteopathy. It's just finding what helps you manage it. Ideally you need a women's health Physio if you can get one. Or you might get referred to outpatients where I work where unfortunately there can be big differences in terms of treatment options for SPD/pelvic pain. Some will only give you crutches whereas others will do what are called muscle energy techniques to help settle the pelvis. Traditional acupuncturists will have their own treatment approaches but it dismays me to hear that they think all physios are not prepared to discuss all possible treatment options not only what they can offer. You would only need to see a consultant if you wanted to talk about induction. Your GP would usually do the physio referral or in some areas you can self refer (eventually all areas will allow this). Hope you get some good treatment whatever one you try Smile

Scheherezade · 22/09/2011 13:54

Just noticed how many of us are 37 weeks (I'm 37 + 1) - isn't that a nice little coincidence?

Right, I am officially NOT putting on makeup or getting properly dressed for this hospital apmt, hopefully they will see how crap I look and take pity on me! Am in leggings, a cheapo stretchy maternity top and cardi, hair tied up Grin - it's ok, DP will be in his work suit with flashy watch so hopefully they will think "that poor woman" as opposed to "what a skank".

Awen that is the most disgusting thing I have ever heard, chuckle @ tuna burps! I accidently ate half a mouldy sandwich yesterday (stale smelly bread, didn't realise as I had made a bolognese sarnie Blush and got halfway through before sniffing the bread and so gone off food today! Let's see if food poisoning can get this baby out.

Gutted that the gin didn't work groovy , was looking forward to trying that!

bilblio · 22/09/2011 14:13

GroovyRach Yes definitely put your phone on silent. I was re-reading the ante-natal thread from last time and I had a little rant about the amount of people phoning to see if LO had arrived.... I only went 1 day overdue!

From about 38 weeks I'd get several calls and texts a day from people asking if LO had arrived, and they often woke me up. I kept pointing out that as soon as I found out I was pregnant I told everyone, so I wouldn't be keeping quiet about actually having the baby.... but people still phoned.

CheshireDing · 22/09/2011 14:41

Am now bored, mw said she would come "after 1pm" to do thie house check but it's 2.40pm now!

meravigliosa · 22/09/2011 15:12

Sorry so many are feeling rubbish.

Baby can now come, as have now had highlights done. Forget that I still have two pieces of work to do, not everything is washed and that hospital bag only partly packed, I know my priorities.

It was an expensive trip out to hairdresser as I noticed rear tyre on (DH's) car looked a bit soft, though not flat. Debated whether to call AA or drive to nearest tyre replacement place. Did latter -- there was a nail in tyre, and was told another two tyres v bare and needing replaced (don't think I was ripped off, as DH had noticed this, but was sure they were still legal). Anyway, three new tyres and a wallet extraction later ....

DH got told off because it took me some time to contact him to find out what sort of tyres he wanted -- I could have been in labour!!!

Then I couldn't get in my front door because it was jammed with mail, and was on point of tears (not easy being on hands and knees trying to poke mail out of way with a credit card @ 38 weeks) when finally got in.

Sorry for the moan.

38 weeks today seeing cons obst tomorrow at hosp.

PenguinArmy · 22/09/2011 15:44

it was horrible, well the first guy was and I proper cried in there as well.

MamaMaiasaura · 22/09/2011 15:54

Can't believe how close we are all getting (thanks for welcoming me back, iPhone app is greatGrin).

Sconefortea - wish he'd weaned sooner. Just wanted to follow his lead (I'm now facing still co-sleeping and having newborn in cot next to bed..)

I decided to mow lawn (real one not lady one) as sun shined. Silly silly idea. I feel like I've been drop kicked in the other garden.

Sorry moany me.

MamaMaiasaura · 22/09/2011 15:55

Scheh - mouldy bread. Wink

BabCNesbitt · 22/09/2011 16:00

Penguin, I'm sorry you had a shitty time :( Why do arseholes get employed to work in these environments?!

Sitting here at work with a constant stabbing pain at the top of my bump. Probably just indigestion, so I don't think I can use it as an excuse to bugger off early...

emmazed · 22/09/2011 16:50

hello everyone and huge congrats to BB3

wow - i can't believe how much i have missed! for me going on mat leave has meant i haven't wanted to go near a computer. there is so much going on - it sounds like we will get lots more good news soon.

loving not working and still not had a day without tonnes to do. i am also anxiously waiting for something to happen. my dh has loads of work booked in for around 41 weeks (he is freelance and can't say no) so i really want our little boy to arrive now. my sister and mum both had to be induced each time so i am not holding out much hope (is it genetic?). i havent had any bh or any signs so i dont think this will be soon

38+2 and very ready!

sassy34264 · 22/09/2011 17:12

scones we had a discussion about it last night. he keeps getting v defensive about it and tries to turn it into an argument, but i wont let him. i keep saying im not saying its your fault or that im mad at you, im just mad in general and you'd feel the same way if the situation was reversed and that im entitled to be mad that i might end up giving birth alone. theres not much he can say really. its like he says- the armed forces dont give a shit about family stuff on the whole. if a grandparent dies while your away they dont let you come back for the funeral. dp had an operation a few years ago and was given a sick note by the consultant but they still made him go back to work. different rules for armed forces you see. they have get out clauses for most employment law.

penguin so sorry they upset you. come and rant when you are ready.

its just took me an hour to do a 20 min trip to the chemist for some iron tablets. i was prescribed them last wed but havent got round to it, but yesterday and today, i have been exhausted. i did call in co op for a cooked chicken though, so thats dinner sorted and somehow a big 200g bar of chocolate managed to fall into my basket. Wink

sassy34264 · 22/09/2011 17:14

35+1

happymummytobe · 22/09/2011 17:14

penguin so sorry, what happened?

Have had a little foot under my ribs for ages now. Ouch!

Off to see a friend tonight who suggested meeting in the centre of town - 18 stops for me on the tube in rush hour. No way in the world that's a possibility so have compromised on somewhere I can drive to. Felt like I was being a bit precious but knew that a packed tube would not start my evening well...

Fleecy · 22/09/2011 17:18

CheshireDing · 22/09/2011 17:59

Aww Penguin that sounds horrid. I hope you bought some chocolate/sweets on the way home :) As Sassy said feel free to rant later.

MW eventually turned up, apparently "after 1pm" means sometime between 1-5pm, will let her off now though as got most of my ironing done waiting for her and she said my name goes on their board now tonight and that if Porgey decides to turn up anytime onwards we are fine to stay at home :) It doesn't feel like it will be turning up yet though, plus need to finish work, go and see Peter Kay and do household cleaning before EDD.

Might go and buy some jelly babies for my "hospital bag" Wink

GroovyRach · 22/09/2011 18:09

Ok, I need advice from you ladies who have been through this before... I've had 2 horrid waves of stomach cramp that have made me go to toilet where things have been rather 'unpleasant' shall we say Confused. It was the wave of pain thro my tummy tho that got me! Like the kind you would expect with food poisoning etc. Would this be what a contraction feels like? They were 1hr30 apart so thinking it may be a while if it is the start if things but I'm just curious. Having a lay down now but if I have another, I'll be up, showering and washing hair just incase!!

Fingers, toes, EVERYTHING crossed!!!!! Grin

sassy34264 · 22/09/2011 18:15

everyone is different groovy loads of people feel it in their back but i never do. mine feels like a tight band and its always at the bottom of mty bump. ive never had the urge to clear out as they say. but i am miss regular who never gets constipation even with iron tablets.
it sounds more like youve eaten something that doesnt agree with you, but someone might tell you different. sorry i dont suppose that is much help.
