OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
supergreenuk · 08/10/2011 16:02

Feeling a bit jealous that I have to wait another 2 weeks till my due date. It's my baby shower tonight. It's a boy so hopefully it will help with the boys count on here eventually.

Congrats to all the arrivals so far.

LittlePebble · 08/10/2011 16:59

Thanks BB3 I'm just feeling so frustrated not knowing what's going on! I don't seem to have had any more leaking but am fairly sure it wasn't a show so will just have to hang in there a bit longer.
I think being so overtired isn't helping I feel really weepy and not myself at all. Ah well x factor and an early night and I'm sure it will all look better in the morning.

MamaMaiasaura · 08/10/2011 17:24

Supergreen - same due date then Smile neither of my 2 boys made it, one 38 and other 39 weeks. Am hoping this one evicted soon as well as seriously running out of space and likely to be at least 9lb.

Pebble - it's hard not knowing for sure. Hope little one doesn't keep you waiting much longer.

That time of night again, cramping getting worse. Def waiting till really breath takingly omg scale and regular before going in. Maybe I have low pain threshold or where boys were OP this one may well slip there too, tho hoping not.

See there I go again memememememe Wink

When we went out today I was all bump and Lots of smiles. Enjoyed it as it's getting near end and won't be long till it's flab and I'll be hiding it. Prob last preg for us so trying to enjoy the last bits too and time with ds's tho ds1 at his dads this weekend

cassnstar · 08/10/2011 18:58

My 'Not a baby shower' was lovely. A few drinks, nibbles, some lovely girlies and a giggle. Had to sit down after a couple of hours, too much baby to carry now! Still checking my bloods, hope I have a nice understanding consultant on Tuesday.

Penelope1980 · 09/10/2011 03:11

Hello! Just wanted to quickly update to say that my baby boy was born last Thursday after a quick labour - 4 1/2 hours from first contraction to birth! The birth went ok - natural with forceps - although due to the speed of the labour both me and baby went into a bit of shock and I had to go to theatre after the birth for an op on my nether regions. Nothing residual though and they let me come home today - yay! We've called him Amotai Jack (a Maori name)

BB3 · 09/10/2011 05:01

Hey Penelope what a beautiful name. Huge congratulations on you new little boy. Hope you are recovering ok post op x how much did he weigh? Xx

CheshireDing · 09/10/2011 07:51

Congratulations Pene. Have they let you out of hospital then now ? Love his name :)

BB3 the first night Poppy never said a word in her moses basket and I thought we had a super chilled out baby, she never even complained about a dirty nappy or feeding. However Thursday and Friday night she certainly changed her tune! You think she is asleep then as soon as you put her in the basket she wakes up and kicks off! I think my milk has come through yesterday though because she feed for ages on Saturday evening and last night was actually pretty good, fed at 11pm, I tried at 1.30pm but she wasn't interested, so fed at 4.30pm and am going to try again now as mw said every 4 hours.

Don't know whether last night was a one off or we have turned a corner, reserving judgement for now (with huge boobs!).

Feeling like a bit of a cry baby since yesterday is anyone else feeling this a few days after their baby has been born?

MamaMaiasaura · 09/10/2011 08:34

Morning ladies Smile

Congratulations Pene :) glad you are home and ok. Have never seen that name before, how do you pronounce it and what does it mean?

Cheshire - I remember sobbing for no reason after ds1. With ds2 I'd achieved a vbac and was on high, tho i did cry when I needed wees etc as had episiotomony and ended up needing repair. Great on the feeding Smile watch out oft the let down when it squirts across the room Grin lol

seasaltbaby · 09/10/2011 08:59

Morning all,
Congratulations on the new babies, love all the beautiful names too!

cheshire I think that is normal to feel so emotional, your bodies been through a lot & other people told me that's how they felt when the milk comes in. I'm no expert though, still waiting here! Don't worry, I'm sure you're doing fine.

Not much to report here, now 37+6 & v ready for bubba to come! I've been making most of mat leave though & been doing some nice things that might not be possible for a while,.cinema, dinner out etc, I get sooo tired by 5ish though I have to lower my expectations of what I can do all the time which is frustrating!

So who will be next, awen it sounds promising!

pinkpainter · 09/10/2011 09:02

Big Congratulations Penelope!! :)

Cheshire - I was a bit of an emotional wreck after my DD - I even cried down the phone to my mum the night she was born because I was so scared of the responsibility, and then was sobbing every day for at least 6 weeks - a lot of the time I don't think I even knew why. I hope the experience this time will be much happier and easier....

MamaMaiasaura · 09/10/2011 09:03

Seasaltbaby - mines just being a tease and will keep me guessing Wink do know what you mean about feeling ready.

We are off to farm today... Do I go on tractor ride Grin lol (not I think). Ds2 needs a treat out as been stuck at home all week with sore throat (tho He says it still sore and still bit of temp, hoping he'll be ok for pre-school tomoz). Best get my lazy arse in shower now.

pinkpainter · 09/10/2011 09:12

Forgot to say - 38 + 3 - totally ready now and very excited!!

lovemybabyboy · 09/10/2011 11:33

Hi all,
I have not posted in months!! keep meaning too but so busy with other things to do with my DS that when I do sit down in the evening I get too tired!

Congrats to all who have had their babies so far and good luck to everyone who is still waiting! Not long now!! Grin

I am 38+1 today and cannot wait to have my baby and to find out if its a boy or a girl!! So excited...but also getting a bit fed up with swollen feet!!!

Is there a seperate thread for october birth announcements or are we just announcing on this thread?? if there is a seperate thread, where is it??

Penelope1980 · 09/10/2011 11:34

cheshire poppy sounds like my boy with feeding - night 2 was especially rough. Am hoping tonight is better as my milk has come in now. I am feeling a bit emotional too, think that the tiredness is catching up with me as well as the nipple pain and pain from the tearing - they thought it was 3rd degree, lucky it wasn't in the end but my ladybits are still sore ...

Oh he was 3.5kg and has a full head of hair!

BB3 · 09/10/2011 13:39

Lovemy here is the link to the new thread.

BB3 · 09/10/2011 13:39

Not new thread - but announcement thread!!

BB3 · 09/10/2011 13:44

Seriously I should read my posts before pressing send - we are updating on here and then keeping a rolling list on the announcement thread xxx

Seasalt I miss all those things!!!

Awen enjoy the farm

Cheshire completely normal to feel teary for a while post baby it's funny I can have no sleep, cope with screaming babies etc and not shed a tear and then someone will say something that sounds a bit off (although not meant that way) and I will be all teary! Little silly things seem to set you off!

TallyBear · 09/10/2011 14:02

Congratulations on all the new babies Cheshire, Mpops, Ferino and Penelope - don't think I've missed anyone out, coming thick and fast now.

I've belatedly ordered some more maternity trousers having realised that I only have one pair that I'm happy to wear outside the house, now that it's getting too cold for leggings. All about £7 on Asos so I don't feel too bad. Sod's law the little bugger will turn up as soon as they do! Oh well, if I didn't order them he will wait the full 4 weeks and I'd be stuck!

I've started to read 'What to expect in the first year' and am getting a bit scared at how involved this whole new baby thing is. I'm knackered already and not doing much. Did manage to make chocolate brownies yesterday though (about all I did). Found a recipe online the other day and became obsessed with making it! Also ate half a Toblerone! Feeling really guilty now as book keeps going on about eating properly.

Since Friday I've had quite a bit of pelvic pain 'down under'. It makes it so uncomfortable to walk around. Seems to be gradually going off though.

Question: Do I need to buy sheets for the pram mattress too? What about waterproof sheets?

38 weeks

BB3 · 09/10/2011 14:16

tally I'd say yes for pram sheets but not waterproofs just normal ones x

Hopefully trousers will come soon but you might get use of them for a few weeks post birth aswell maybe xx

TallyBear · 09/10/2011 18:27

Thanks BB3. I think the ones for the moses basket will fit so I'll get another pair of them. We've not got any waterproof sheets so I hope nappies aren't too leaky.

Cot put together but one of the screws can't be screwed in as the head isn't made properly - another complaint. Thanks Mamas and Papas; although by the sound of it we're not alone. Won't be ordering anything else from them.

SconesForTea · 09/10/2011 19:00

Congratulations Penelope wow what a quick labour! No wonder you were in shock. Hope the feeding is improving.

Awen good luck, hope this is it for you.

seasalt you are doing exactly the right thing. I was too tired (I thought) to go out much near the end of pg last time and now we've got DD I soooooo miss the cinema especially. So keep going out, you won't regret it! Also read, read, read!

I had a hormonal meltdown yesterday; another disturbed night, half me, half DD, an early start, and I just felt it was all too much to cope with. Had reflexology to help with my sleep yesterday afternoon, had a terrible night's sleep last night Hmm but amazingly feel a lot more positive today. Maybe it helped after all?!

bilblio · 09/10/2011 21:48

Congratulations Penelope Wow what a quick labour. Hope you're doing your best to take it easy now and recover.

Cheshire It's very normal to feel emotional. You're still recovering, tired, sore, hormones all over the place, and will be for a few weeks. I think with DD it was somewhere between weeks 4 & 6 that the fog seemed to clear.
I'm generally very level headed and strong person, I don't get emotional like some people, even when pregnant (really ratty when tired, but I rarely cry or lose my temper) but when the HV came and did the post-natal questionairre to check for depression I was quite shocked that I answered Yes to about half the questions. Thankfully she reassured me that it was all normal and she'd be more concerned that I wasn't coping if I'd said "No" to everything.

seasalt I've had 2 days in a row now where I've not fallen asleep at 5:30. This is a record. It gets to that time of night and I just can't keep my eyes open, even if I've not got up till 10:30. It's better than with DD though, then the tiredness hit at 2pm, really inconvenient when I was in work.

My parents have been up today as DH has been out for the day celebrating his birthday. My Mum has cleaned the house from top to bottom. DH calls her a whirling dervish. I wish I had a fraction of her energy... even when I'm not pregnant. :o
DD has been a star too really keen to help. She's been putting things away, mopping, cleaning windows. All good training for when the baby arrives... except she loves doing all these things with Nanna, but if I dare suggest she puts some of her toys away before getting some more out!!! Shock :o

Penelope1980 · 10/10/2011 01:05

tally I had that pain too, for a couple of weeks before I gave birth.

I am doing well, have really bad tail bone pain though as apparently mine got knocked around a lot in labour - makes the feeding a bit tricky but is improving when I remember to take pain relief. I look at my son though and is worth it (yes am feeling goopy today)

LittlePebble · 10/10/2011 08:30

Morning all, Pene congratulations on your little boy Grin.
40+1 today and nothing, all the signs I had seem to have gone away!
My sister however gave birth yesterday on my due date (cheek!) but she was 8 days over, so looking forward to seeing my niece today, hopefully now she's out my LO will come. Wink

Wobbledoos · 10/10/2011 09:39

Happy 40+1 littlepebble - me too!

Is it just me feeling tired and weepy? Spent yet another 3hrs in maternity yest having bp monitored after another high home reading. Now waiting for consult appt for ASAP this week so she can make a decision re medicate, monitor or induce sooner. Even tho my readings in hospital aren't actually high.

Feeling super stressed as my planned childcare (eldest) for the LO's has gone to pot, his gf has finished with him so he's devastated and run off visiting people 200 miles away. Stuck now til my mum arrives from Spain on Thurs night, unless I manage to labour and deliver problem free at home.

Today would be good Bertie....

Sorry for the moan :(
