Congratulations Ferino so sorry that you didn't get the birth you wanted but I'm sure Hannah Elizabeth makes up for it. No advice on debriefing sorry, you need to make sure you have a copy of your notes for a start I would think? Hopefully someone will know Smile

October babies

PA Grin sounds promising, what form has the nesting taken?

Moly I was 14 days over with DD and refused induction on at least two occasions. The MWs were fine with my refusal, it was the doctors (or one in particular) who was pushy and told me I was endangering my baby's life Sad Even though I'd just been monitored for two hours and baby was fine. All you can do is stick to your guns and trust your body. I felt so healthy and fine, was convinced baby would make an appearance when it was ready and she did. Be warned though the monitoring may not be a quick in and out - it never was for me! Hours every time I'm afraid.

Keep us posted Awen...

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 07/10/2011 22:00

Sorry can't remember who asked (on phone) but nothing yet. Sad

Just in from cinema with DH exhausted now though.

Congrats to all the new babies

MamaMaiasaura · 07/10/2011 22:47

Feeling a bit scared now as not really prepared. No name and no arrangements for childcare properly sorted and hosp bag half packed. Pains worse and in back too. Feel physically sick and been a little bit too.

Worried about my 3 year old and hosp 40 min drive. Pains every 5 min and peaking like wave. I am silly because I'm scared as this is number 3 now so I shouldn't be.

PenguinArmy · 07/10/2011 22:54

awen DD will come with us until DM picks her up (a few hours later). I've accepted that her and DH will wait outside.

Now go and direct someone to finish your bag. I did mine last night [smug] and hope the back pain isn't too bad. I'm hoping for a non back labour this time around. Some people find hot presses helpful, I personally found cold ones better.

Have you rang them, I'd have thought at every 5 mins and being 40mins away you should be heading in sooner rather than later?

Molybdenum · 07/10/2011 22:55

Scones thank you for your words of wisdom - we'll be sure to pack a lunchbox and a book each. I really hope I'm not given too much of a hard time; luckily I am very medically assertive though.

Awen best of luck. I am sure that once you've met your little soul all will feel well. We don't have 'a' name either; hopefully one will suggest itself on meeting the new arrival :)

GroovyRach · 07/10/2011 22:57

Hi ladies, just a quick check in since I haven't been around in a week! Will be back in next few days properly. Hope everyone us doing well, can't wait to catch up with all the news Smile xxx

MamaMaiasaura · 07/10/2011 23:06

Not rung them yet, I've taken paracetamol now and hoping that will help. With ds1 o had irritable uterus and ds2 was early labour for ages. This time I want to leave as long as I can before going in rather than disrupt everyone if it's not happening happening. I think ds2 will have to come with us if we go in this weekend till my mum can be there. Sorry going on so much Sad Blush.

If pains keep me awake tho I'll be calling them. X

PenguinArmy · 07/10/2011 23:12

not at all awen this is the tricky bit and if it back to back I think they can have a longer early stage . The happening at night is the worse bit as well as the tiredness/weariness kicks in.

I'm off to bed now but good luck and don't apologise. If you can't be 'me me me' when in labour then when the hell can you hey :)

CheshireDing · 08/10/2011 01:51

Good luck awen

Sorry Typing with one finger as poppy has started being difficult about sleeping in her Moses basket!

LittlePebble · 08/10/2011 04:38

Good luck Awen hope all is ok x

Not sure whether my waters have started leaking. I felt a trickle in bed last night and when I woke up to go to the loo earlier I found a damp circle at the back of my knickers. Definitely not urine but the don't really smell of anything just fairly clean. Can't sleep now don't know what to do! Confused

BB3 · 08/10/2011 05:08

pebble could well be - get as much rest as you can and then if you're still leaking in a few hours give the labour ward a call - likelihood is they'll bring you in to check it's def waters xx

Hope you're doing ok Awen xx

CheshireDing · 08/10/2011 07:00

Oooh could be pebble. Good luck if so.

Tiny babies are feeding machines! Still one finger typing, hence will update birth link and story soon.

BB3 · 08/10/2011 07:57

Morning all

How is everyone getting on? Awen? pebble? any developments?

BB3 · 08/10/2011 07:59

Cheshire how you finding it bar the one handed typing? We are having Moses basket issues at the moment too - Edith-may is fine but Ayse-Rose refuses to sleep in hers during the night but will go in it all day! She is trouble that one WinkGrin

MamaMaiasaura · 08/10/2011 08:46

Well I'm still here, all died down in early hours. Glad I didn't go to hosp. Ds2 woke twice in night (unlike him). Still cosleeping so glad I was here. He's definately a Velcro child at moment.

Amber - they certainly are feeding machines Smile it is going to a shockI think how often they nurse.

Bb3 - love how you can distinguish the girls and their little ways Grin also I think you are amazing to keep uptodate on here too

MamaMaiasaura · 08/10/2011 08:47

Just saw Pebble message. Sounds like it could be, let us know Smile

And yay I'm 38 weeks today Smile

BB3 · 08/10/2011 09:03

Ah awen congrats on 38 weeks x glad you were there for ds too - it's very hard for them as they can just sense it's going to change. Interestingly the night before the girls arrived ds had a really rough night bless him!

The girls are soooo different. We call Edith-May squeaker as she let's out little wimpers like a mouse and likes to cuddle in like a koala and is constantly trying to hug her sister. She pulls some hilarious faces when she is half asleep. Ayse-Rose on the other hand is a little bloody drama queen she screams like she's being tortured if you attempt to change her clothes or nappy with full on wet sobbing tears down her face that miraculously disappear the second she's done up! She makes big dramatic gestures when you move her and pushes her sister away when she tries to cuddle her but she does it all with this butter wouldnt melt look on Her face that is quite hard to resist! She is all about one on one attention! Grin if these personalities develop then I'm in for an interesting first few years!!

Wobbledoos · 08/10/2011 09:12

Hello lovelies, congrats on the newest baby arrivals!

Can't remember who asked but yes, this is a boy, but no, he won't be called Bertie, DH doesn't like it. Or any other names for that matter, we're a bit stuck. Hoping when he arrives he'll look like a someone lol!

Had raised bp at mw thurs so had to sit on monitor in labour ward for 3 hours while they did my profile. Sent me home under orders to have it checked every 2 days til further notice. They're overly concerned as was induced with PIH with my first 2.(except they called it pre-eclampsia back then). Seems to have dropped a bit since, but best safe than sorry eh. Had no other problems ie. protein/excessive swelling/vision/headaches tho.

Had sweep Thurs too, she said am 2 dilated but still thick, so not looking likely Bertie will come anytime soon. Keep saying it and no-one believes me, this boy will go overdue and need inducing.

Ah well.39+6

MamaMaiasaura · 08/10/2011 09:43

Bb3 - Is Aysa-Rose the eldest? She sounds like she going to led Edith-May into mischief Grin I can imagine them as toddlers, together they'll be a force to be reckoned with Wink lol.

How does ds1 act around them? I'm interested to watch relationship between mine. I already know ds1 going to be amazing. He was great when ds2 was born and loved helping. Now it's wonderful how ds1 will play with ds2. And ds2 absolutely adores his brother.

Dh is desperate for us to fully prepare today (last night was a bit of an awakener that this is really happening soonish).

MamaMaiasaura · 08/10/2011 09:44

Sorry Ayse- Rose x

MamaMaiasaura · 08/10/2011 09:50

Wobbledos 2cm is 2cm tho so could be sooner Smile. Glad I'm bot only one not fixed on name. Lovely you are having a boy (I'm a fan having 2 already). I think because I don't know gender I'm flummoxed. Poor you with high BP, it's a pain having to go in for monitoring. Had that with my first. Was urine ok etc?

Niggling pains again here, hohum I am going to ignore them. I looked back at thread when preg with ds2 and it kept happening same. Waiting for the OMG contractions where there is No doubt Wink

BB3 · 08/10/2011 10:13

wobbledos glad you're ok - 2cms is progress so you never know!!! My me said at my check up it wasn't happening soon and within 12 hours my contracting were 3 mins apart and I was in for emergency cs.

Awen no she's the youngest but slightly bigger and more boyish / she's the spit of her eldest brother!

Ds is brilliant we were really, really worried as when his cousin was born he stopped speaking for a few months (hence the whole nursery assessment issue) so after getting his confidence and speech back up to where he was about 7 months ago we were scared it would go again. But he is brilliant he ignores them most of the time like they've always been here. He likes to help change them, bath them and put them in Moses baskets he likes to have them both I'm front of him and he sits watching them and occasionally they get a sniff kiss (yes he sniffs while kissing it's very cute) but it's a good balance I'm glad he doesn't push them away but equally not all over them and in a way he's more confident now they're here and getting more vocal in his gibbering. It's almost like he pressed pause because he knew things were changing and now they're here and it's all ok he can start back on track! The only thing he finds hard is that i cant go on the trampoline with him and he can't always have mummy to himself during his nighttime routine (he sits on my lap for cuddles, in the night garden, stories and then sleep) but he's getting used to it xx

BB3 · 08/10/2011 13:18

Hello all

Just updated the babies thread and we are on 16 babies already, 11 of which are girls so the boys have some catching up to do!

BBx

LittlePebble · 08/10/2011 13:44

Hi all, so very frustrating have no idea what is happening my midwife said it was my hindwaters leaking and to call labour ward. Labour ward said it was just a watery show. Now have to wait to see if anything else happens to figure out what it is!
If I have any more leaks then it is hind waters and I may have to go in if I don't go into labour today. Nothing so far but been on feet all morning so having a lie down to see if I spring a leak (feel like a lilo!) Confused

BB3 · 08/10/2011 15:53

pebble this might not be helpful but my hind waters broke on the Wednesday and the friday the rest of my waters broke. The hospital checked it on the Wednesday and the hospital said they couldn't see it (although I could feel it!) and then on the Friday it was clear they were leaking everywhere which is why they induced me on the saturday as that would technically be day four.

Anyway, how you getting on?
