Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LittlePebble · 30/09/2011 09:09

Leo wow what a birth story, I'm so glad you managed to get Zak out safe without having ecs. Hope the antibiotics are helping and you get to go home soon. Yay for our (September) October babies!

Sassy I imagine having twins to look after. Will be having a huge effect on how you feel during this pg even with only one in there!

Good luck Groovy hope all is ok with your DD xx

BB3 I feel for you I worry about falling asleep and squashing LO or dropping it as I walk down the stairs - recurring nightmares atm. Can't believe you're noticing dust though you sound like superwoman!

TMI warning! I noticed my nipple oozing clear sticky stuff thus morning, is this colostrum? Does this mean I might be any nearer having this LO (hopeful emoticon)?

38+5 getting closer Grin

PenguinArmy · 30/09/2011 09:44

maybe pebble although some people leak from the second trimester and it most likely means nothing This symptom spotting is worse than the 2ww.

I'm back from the hospital and I've decided to do a VB with some caveats. The won't let second stage last any near as long as time, 1hr max probably 45 mins being the main one. She was lovely and for the first time really got to talk/discuss childbirth in a two way discussion. I must have gone through a 1000 what if's with her.

Anyone having night sweats, I'm still awake until 1am most nights as from 8pm I'm far too hot.

Leo wow, you must have felt awful glad your feeling better and both of you are all right

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 30/09/2011 09:45

pebble yep it's colostrum but unfortunately don't think it's a sign of labour I've been leaking v small amounts of it since week 26/27.

Haven't done a single bit of housework all week but DH and I will tackle it together tomorrow. Got a beautiful canvas for LO's room yesterday so just to put that up and it's finished :-)

I'm so jealous of all you ladies getting twinges/having babies I've had nothing yet although think I have a really strong baby as every time she moves today it's quite painful think she's having a wee party!

Have started getting in Christmas pressie's am so excited
As I think DS will understand a lot more this yr :-)

sassy34264 · 30/09/2011 09:48

my happiness is off the scale................

dp just rang, his voluntary redundancy has been accepted! with all the leave he is due and they have to give you a resettlement period he should be out by feb. no more being a single mum. he will just have a normal job and come home every night.....yippee Grin

9 years of this hasn't been the easiest of times. he's estatic too. i just need to persuade him to use the redundancy money on a holiday home now. ha

BB3 · 30/09/2011 09:57

Yaaaaaay!!! sassy what fantastic news! What with Dubai and now this dh is definitely in your good books hey! GrinGrin

BB3 · 30/09/2011 10:06

penguin so glad you managed to get it sorted - glad they listened and you feel more comfortable with the decision.

Edward oh see I can't even start shopping until my decorations are up in the house! It's a weird thing I have but also means I'm desperate to get the decorations up the first say of December!!!

pebble I know it's stupid but I have a dressing table in my bedroom with all my perfumes, creams and make up on it all laid out and all the black mac and bobby brown cases are covered in it and it just winds me up! Have just quickly dusted round and it makes such a difference - dh can hoover later when I'm out visiting relatives!

sassy34264 · 30/09/2011 10:11

ha bb3 i suppose he is. doesnt happen very often. the relief is enormous- i just sobbed. so bad that dd1 started crying, i think she thought something was wrong. im saying 'no its happy tears' through all my blubbering, to stop her freaking out. (its an inset day at school so she is off)

bb3 i did that too. woke up sat up in bed thinking wtf. dp was asleep next to me and jacob was lying between us. i realised i had been breast feeding and fell asleep and he must have rolled down my body and over my legs. he could have been squished

GroovyRach · 30/09/2011 10:27

Well, I'm up on ward, just waiting on space down in delivery. They had me on trace for a while but was same story as yesterday so said induction was a must. Can't argue this time! Had 2 sweeps done so they wouldn't have to use gel. Things going pretty fast! Plan to break waters then onto drip to speed it all up as they want her out as soon as. Contractions every 3 mins and starting to hurt like hell!! I thought I was gd with pain Confused

TallyBear · 30/09/2011 10:40

More babies - well done Leo and Crazy. Glad to hear all worked out in the end, even if the event itself was a bit of a drama.

The first of our NCT babies have popped as well. I just realised that my due date is in 3 weeks and he could be earlier - do I feel ready to be a mum? Not at the moment. Keep having quiet panicky moments. Still got so much to do....

BB3 · 30/09/2011 11:06

Ah Sassy poor DD1 but yay for happy tears!

Groovy it's operation get that baby out then - hopefully she will make an appearance today and you can be out tomorrow morning and at that wedding taking all the attention from the bride with your beautiful new baby xx

Tally I don't thin you are ever ready to be a mummy no matter if it's your first or tenth!!

I've put some pics on my profile, could only manage a few as it was taking forever! But there are some on there finally. Right I will go and update the birth list now before too many of us have babies and we forget!

sassy34264 · 30/09/2011 11:42

awh bb3 they are gorgeous! oh, i want mine right now.

tallybear dont worry, you'll soon feel like you've never been anything else. and you'll probably wonder what it was you did to fill in your days, as they just take up all your time. Smile i remember lying in bed and looking into the cot when i was pregnant with dd1 the night before i was going to be induced, thinking omg, there is going to be a baby in there tomorrow and it felt so surreal.

mpops · 30/09/2011 12:00

Good luck groovy! Hope it's all quick and great for you!

BB3, awww, what cutiepies. Congratulations again!

sassy, that's really great news. Very happy for you!

39+2 today.

Engelsmeisje · 30/09/2011 12:17

Beautiful photos BB3!

Congrats Leo and good luck Groovy

Was relieved to hear from my midwide yesterday that she thinks I'm having an "average" sized baby. All I've been hearing from MIL is what big babies DH an BIL were (they're now both strapping Dutch men over 2m tall!).

Has anyone got/used a tummy tub, or just a baby bath, or both? Am umming and aahing over the tt.

37+3

TallyBear · 30/09/2011 13:27

Thanks for the reassurance BB3 and Sassy. Since last post pram carry cot has arrived (at last!), I've cleared out the chest of drawers in spare room/nursery and I've starting to wash baby clothes (they look so cute and tiny hanging on the line), so starting to restore order and feel a bit more prepared, but glad to hear it's normal all the same.

Good luck Groovy must had missed this last time.... fingers crossed for you...

Engels we got this one from Amazon - www.amazon.co.uk/Tippitoes-BM3-Mini-Bath-White/dp/B0037ZTT2A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1317385301&sr=8-1.

I was worried about baby holding their head up in the tub one. Maybe I'm just a 1st time worrier (see previous post!!)

bilblio · 30/09/2011 15:09

BB3 Beautiful girls!

Groovy Good luck, thinking of you and hoping you make it to the wedding tomorrow. What time do they get married?

Sassy Fantastic news.

Edward I've been Christmas shopping too. I started in August, but bought a few more today. My pay will have dropped by December so I can't buy much then. I'd never be able to do BB3 trick of buying things once the decorations are up. They go up about 21st at our house, and that's only since DD arrived. My choice would be about 23rd.

Another plug for the Cupoftea collection thread in case anyone missed it. They've raised £800 so far, they're not going to keep publishing what's been raised now though in case dodgy people decide to take advantage.

Right must go and waddle across to get DD now. It's Too Hot!!!!

Molybdenum · 30/09/2011 15:19

Hi everyone - wow, so much has been happening, it's taken me ages to catch up on all the news! Congratulations to those with babies thus far.

I feel I won't be too far away from joining you - am now 40+4 and feeling (more than) a bit scared at the thought I'm soon to be a mum. I've no real signs of anything happening, lots of pelvic and back pain but nothing rhythmic or unbearable. I saw the midwife bang on 40 weeks and she offered me a sweep, which I declined. I would prefer to let things happen on their own timescale. Had acupuncture this morning. Again, I didn't want her to do any induction points, so she stuck to cervix softening and uterine prep points. If things haven't kicked off in the next week or so I'll give the acupuncture induction a go, but I really do not like the thought of a sweep or anything else invasive.

I've been going a bit nuts on ebay, buying bundles of newborn outfits for 99p. Most of them arrive looking brand new, although I just received some which smell of smoke. It made me so sad, to think that there are babies out there living in a house with a smoker. I plan on leaving those clothes outside on the washing line for a few days to let fresh air and sunshine give them a good clean.

We have piles of things everywhere, ready for the homebirth. Hopefully enough old towels and sheets. I've decided to have the placenta made into capsules for me to take after the birth - anyone else consuming their placentas?

Best of luck to everyone who's about to give birth. Will report back after the imminent arrival...

Roseflower · 30/09/2011 15:49

I am very late to the bus... Im 39 weeks today? Can I still join in?

I am pregnant with dc2

Well I don't know about anyone else but I am very cross its hot again, its unbearable.

Fed up now, just desperate to go into labour, but very exciting to hear all the labour stories already!

soundofherwings · 30/09/2011 16:13

Massive congratulations to Leo and Cheeky and good luck Groovy!

It's my due date today and still no baby, although I did lose my plug/have a bit of a show last night so maybe things will start moving soon. Booked in for a sweep on Tuesday if not. I've decided to make a start on new living room curtains to distract myself, and half hoping that this will cause baby to arrive just to scupper my plans.

And excellent news- DH was offered a job yesterday, which he really wanted, after 4 months of being unemployed. So now I don't have to stress about having a baby and no money!

I am soooo hot! I was praying I didn't go into labour last night as the heat was unbearable and we have just given back the fans we borrowed over the summer!

40 weeks today.

meravigliosa · 30/09/2011 16:21

Leo, cheeky congratulations. Have missed so many posts, have had to catch up.

Groovy good luck.

Got sweep this morning, but nothing happening (instinctively feel it won't). Another sweep next Friday if nothing doing, and have an induction date for the following week.

39 + 1

Roseflower · 30/09/2011 16:36

All of you getting sweeps are very brave! The thought makes me cross my legs (well I would if I could actually cross them still)

sassy34264 · 30/09/2011 17:03

argh- wrote big post and lost it.........short version

moly good for you, but i couldnt do it. think i would gag.

rose welcome

mera good luck hope something happens soon

bilblio i need to start my xmas shopping soon- before baby comes. otherwise everyone is just going to get something from tesco.

im off out tonight. booked a table at a tapas restaurant for 7.45pm and my mum is babysitting. cant wait as never tried tapas before and the menu looks delicious. just waiting for dp to get home, but think there have been crashes. hopefully he wont be too long.

sassy34264 · 30/09/2011 17:07

sound brilliant news about your dp. bet that is a load off your mind.

mine has just lost his and i couldnt be happier! he has got 6months more to work before his leaving date though, so hopefully plenty of time to look for a job around here.

Mimatchin · 30/09/2011 18:38

In fact this thread is moving too fast

groovy good luck!!!

tonight is baby shower and my feet and hands are very swollen,my hands too, maybe because of the heat but it is really annoying.

I am using tummy tub I bought for baby to put my feet in with cold water but still :(...

No signs really but baby is moving fine.

38+5

BabCNesbitt · 30/09/2011 21:38

Tally, I know what you mean - it hit me when I bought a nursing bra the other day that that meant I'd actually have a baby on my tit fairly soon, and I had a moment of blind panic. Surely one of the midwives will recognise that I'm not grown up enough myself to be a mum yet?! But apparently we're allowed to keep the babies! Shock

BB3, your girls are gorgeous (and your DS has such a cutie face, too!)

Good luck with everything, groovy - fingers crossed for tomorrow!

I've finally started maternity leave!!! And I'm starting as I mean to go on - sitting on my arse, drinking tea and eating cake. Grin

36+3 today.

PenguinArmy · 30/09/2011 22:00

This weekend I vow to

write up my part of birth plan
