Congratulations Leo and Zak hope you're feeling better.
Yay for mat leave Cheshire
Groovy so have they given you anything or have you taken the decision to leave it for now?
BB3 hope girls aren't so grumpy.
38+4 and no signs yet Sad

LittlePebble · 29/09/2011 18:26

Have not gave Blush

monkeybubbles · 29/09/2011 19:04

leo congrats! love the name zak :)

groovy how scary! hope you're able to relax a bit now

went to physio today and got the wrist splints for carpel tunnel. just tried them out when i had a nap and they seem quite good. i also looked them up on the boots website, and they cost about £20 each, so it's definitely worth going to physio to get them for free.

thanks sassy for the tip about bringing them to the hospital, i had a feeling that it wouldn't just disappear as soon as the baby's born, even though the physio seemed to think it would.

MamaMaiasaura · 29/09/2011 20:00

I took boys to Paultons park this afternoon and on way home was getting painful contractions every 5-10 min. Continued till I had bath with ds2 and just niggling now. Oh well all practice. My feet are so swollen Sad

bilblio · 29/09/2011 20:28

leo & Crazy Congratulations!

Monkey Glad the splints are working. I had to wear them on and off through uni. They really help, but they do make you feel a bit like a robot. :o Also remember to be a bit gentler than normal if you tap someone on the shoulder!

Cheshire Hurrah for Mat Leave. I got your message. I'm on A/L too until the end of next week... I'm supposed to be on a course on Monday too. But it's all Maternity Leave as far as I'm concerned.

Groovy Hope LO holds on now until Sunday, or late enough on Saturday for you to enjoy the wedding.

Awen Get your feet up and relax, you might be needing your energy soon.

I had a rotten night last night. The antibiotics are kicking in, so clearing my chest but that means coughing more. The steroids are making me very fuzzy headed too. I finally fell asleep at about 3am on the sofa. DD found me there at 7:30 and I helped her get sorted for school before waking DH. She wanted to wear a stripey vest, under her t-shirt today... and she had picked a pinafore! She's very stubborn, but thankfully after about 15 minutes I persuaded her it was a bad idea in this heat. 4 year olds! Who'd have them! I then went back to bed for the rest of the morning. Desperately wanted to sleep this afternoon but I've managed to stay awake and I'm going to go to bed early. It's too hot.

Oh and Major news!!! I PACKED MY HOSPITAL BAG!!! Wooo!
Except we haven't put any snacks in because we haven't got any, we're going to buy some tomorrow when we go shopping. So LO can arrive now. :o

36+3

PenguinArmy · 29/09/2011 20:50

I'm so sorry completely forgot to congratulate leo and crazy good luck for the haze that will be the next few weeks.

Right me and DH are going to discuss what I want from the appt tomorrow

Fleecy · 29/09/2011 21:05

Oh groovy that sounds horribly frustrating. I hope the timing works out and you can go to the wedding.

No signs here again but DS has now caught DD's sickness bug from last weekend and we were up most of the night. In the end, DH kindly moved into DS' room for the last couple of hours so I could sleep. Fingers crossed for a better night tonight - poor DS had a temp of up to 103 Sad

GroovyRach · 29/09/2011 21:11

Me again!

No they haven't gave me anything. Had to go amd speak with a doc up on labour ward as to what I wanted to do next. I said that I wanted to hold off the induction but would like to be monitored again. They have asked me to go back in Saturday morning to day care to be on trace again and then assessment on Monday to decide what to do next. Starting to think I done wrong thing by telling them no, but just feel it was all done so fast and I was completely out the loop Sad

Think I am starting to have mild contractions now tho. Been experiencing tightenings for past 3 hrs now, not been keeping a note of times etc but they are fairly regular and starting to get more painful. Will keep an eye on things and see what happens!!

Hope everyone else is gd. Sorry haven't responded to individual messages xx

MamaMaiasaura · 29/09/2011 21:53

Fleecy - poor you with poorly kids. Hope they get better soon. Temp of 103 is very high and weather so hot too x

Groovyrach - I'd have reacted the same I think. When something like that is sprung on me I need time for me to collect thoughts and educate myself on choices. If tomorrow you wanted to go for it, I'd call them. I know you want to go to your db wedding but u and baby come first xxx

Still getting cramps here tho much less painful. Feet up and off to bed soon.

Tomorrow going to be mad. Decking boards being delivered, 2 friends over with there 2 year olds and 4 year old. Then ds1 has school friend over after school too. At least keeping occupied Smile

Penelope1980 · 29/09/2011 22:32

Gaaaa, I was just typing a post about how now I am overdue I am suddenly much grumpier and impatient, and then the computer went funny and lost my post. Angry I think I need to take a step back from the computer and take ten deep breaths ... Smile

GroovyRach · 29/09/2011 23:18

Well, been timing from 9.45pm and so far every 4 mins, lasting between 27 secs and 35 seconds. It's getting more uncomfortable, but I'm ok so far. Do you think I should call and let them know or just wait? Would rather stay in house as long as possible if I can. Oh gosh, this could be it!! Grin

PenguinArmy · 29/09/2011 23:32

I'd ring as they'll probably tell you to stay put until they're longer. Ask something like 'at what stage should I come in'. Then when you are ready they're more likely to listen (IMO). They'll probably say take a bath.

GroovyRach · 30/09/2011 01:14

Gave them a phone, I'm still about 4 mins apart but def getting more painful! She said I don't need to go in till they are more 2-3 mins apart, lasting 1 min amd feeling like I'm about to die! Grin

Gonna try get some sleep, it's been a long day! Will report back with any progress Grin xx

BB3 · 30/09/2011 01:55

Oh how exciting groovy!! It does sound like it might be happening for you! Barring any complications I reckon you've still got a chance of being at the wedding if lo arrives tomorrow... good luck and keep us updated xxx how exciting xxxx

Penelope1980 · 30/09/2011 02:07

groovy good luck and hope all goes well! How exciting for you ...

Your posts about the pain are a good reminder about what everyone says, that when you're in labour, you'll know!

cheekydino · 30/09/2011 04:03

Up feeding (again) and thought it was time to catch up but far too much has happened whilst I've been in newborn blur!

Congrats to Leo and crazy Smile

Good luck groovy, hope the little one arrives safely soon.

What a week. Can honestly say I've never experienced such a rollercoaster! Elodie is a delight and we are grateful everyday that she is here, safe. Didn't realise how dangerous placental abruption is but thankfully it is rare so shouldn't happen to anyone else on our thread!

BB3 - I am full of admiration for you and the way you are coping with twins/visitors/everything! And still managing to keep up with everyone's posts.

One of the best things about this week - the large quantity of nice cheese and pate I have been eating for lunch. Mmm.

Safariboots · 30/09/2011 06:34

Wow, this thread sure move fast!!
Congratulations on new arrivals.. and all the best for those of us now nearing the end Smile. Just catching up with all the posts now

LittlePebble · 30/09/2011 06:37

Morning all! Good luck Groovy hope all is going well xxx

CheshireDing · 30/09/2011 07:04

Good luck Groovy, she's been teetering on the edge of being born for ages it seems your little girl so it would be great if she had/has turned up now and you can still go to the wedding :)

Leo4 · 30/09/2011 07:11

So here is my labour slash birth story...was sent to be induced Monday evening due to Reduced fetal movements and polyhydramnios and waited til half 9 in triage to be assessed ... For them to tell me I probably wouldnt be induced until the next morning.... But my obs were bad with high bp and high pulse rate so they induced me at 12 midnight with a pessary... Which caused me to contract for 12 hours solid... Then it fell out and my contraction didn't continue...so they decided to see if I had dilated enough to break my waters.... I had dilated 3cm so they broke my waters but they had a funny smell so they thought they had been leaking before. They then put the hormone drip up and by this point I was really unwell with high temp, high bp so they started to monitor me and the baby constantly, the baby kept having decelerations and my condition was getting worse , ie temp was 38.6, so they wanted to give me an epidural so they could increase the level of hormones and deliver the baby, there was constant string of consultants checking the babies hr and when the epidural didn't make either of us better (perhaps worse as I got awful shakes aswel as a result and babies decelerations got worse) they decided to give me a c section because they were worried I had a serious infection, but just before I was wheeled down they examined me and found I was fully dilated so said if you push now you can avoid c-section ... I had a small epesiotamy and with 3 pushes he was out... Me and the baby have been given intravenous antibiotics since and baby Zak is amazing and I'm getting better but have a lot of blood loss so still in hosp until tomorrow.

GroovyRach · 30/09/2011 07:18

Morning all!

Leo - so glad all is getting better. Sounds like u had a rough time with it all Sad

Iv been up since 5.30am. Dozing on amd off all night. Contractions getting more painful. Timed them when I got up again, 3 1/2 mins between but lasting 1 min now. Had alot of bloody show Blush. Phoned mw around 6.45am. She asked if I'd felt movement since I got up, but I haven't told me to eat and drink amd pop back in an he if no movement. Planning to leave in 10 mins. If they put me on a trace just to make sure all is well then I'm happy. Feel it will be a long day!!

Hope everyone is good Grin

Leo4 · 30/09/2011 07:22

O and good luck groovy hope all goes well xx

Leo4 · 30/09/2011 07:25

Groovy think the hard part was the length as I was in labour for a long time and worrying everything is alright with baby ... Now Im jus like o wel I have my amazing baby xx

sassy34264 · 30/09/2011 07:27

morning everyone.

groovy excited for you! hope everything is going well. x

leo so sorry to hear about your infection. but amazing job at pushing him out in 3!!!! i want that. Smile oh i can only dream. hope you are both well soon.

im loving the births and the stories, but im itching to see pictures! i love baby pics. so adorable. i keep saying to dp when i see babies on tv ' i want one' ha.

no signs my end. boo. i am having a few bh a day and baby is still head down. but it is quite early at 36+2. id had the twins by now. and this baby is estimated at 7lbs 6oz which was jacobs weight, so i am missing 6lbs 10oz in there this time and im finding it harder????? !!!! go figure.

BB3 · 30/09/2011 08:29

Morning all

Leo wow that was a bit of a mammoth labour but as you said he's here safe and sound which is all that counts! And three pushes is very impressive!! How you feeling in yourself? Fingers crossed you can both come home tomorrow.

groovy sending lo enough mn vibes to make her escape suitably quickly and without complications so you can get to the wedding!

cheeky so glad you and little E are doing so well. We definitely need some more straightforward birth stories on this thread ladies, we must have had all the tough ones by now!! Wink

Ive also had goats cheese two days in a row - it's so lovely!!!!

sassy apart from the last few weeks when i was just unbearably big, I found the twin pg a whole lot easier than ds! I promise to post pics this morning - ds is off to nursery in 40 mins so I'll hopefully have the girls asleep by then and can sit at my laptop for a few minutes.

I had a horrible moment this morning. Was
feeding Ayse in bed at about 5 and must have dosed off and the next thing I know it's 40 minutes later and she is falling off me and the bed. Sad I managed to catch her upside down before she hit anything but blimey my heart was in my mouth. So she has has lots of extra guilty mummy cuddles but seems to be unaffected by the whole thing and is currently dozing in my lap Smile.

We officially registered the girls yesterday and went into town for supplies (maternity bras, vest tops and phone fixing) and today I have to get some housework done as the dust in my bedroom us horrendous Blush

Right must get moving....
