Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
GroovyRach · 29/09/2011 06:10

mimatchin do u think so? I'm honestly layin here with every scenario going through my head Confused. I swear this little girl is in there twiddling her thumbs and thinking 'hmm, I could have a bit of fun here. Let's kick this all off at the most inconvenient time!' little bugger Wink

BB3 · 29/09/2011 06:31

Cheshire yay for last day of work.Smile

groovy if LO cones today and barring any complications Saturday should be fine! Are the cramps constant or coming and going?

My picture of happiness is being shattered by two very grumpy girls this morning!!! Wink

Penelope1980 · 29/09/2011 06:55

Wow groovy sounds like it could all be happening! Am sure that it will all work out fine for the wedding Smile
I had what I thought was the start of a show today but it went away and then remembered the MW telling me that I'd probably bleed after the internal yesterday so think it may be that. So many false starts!

GroovyRach · 29/09/2011 06:57

bb3 its just a constant crampy feel. No waves or anything. Gonna get up and have something to eat as I'm suddenly starving! Oh I'm so reassured that if she came today, Saturday is still a possibility!! Honestly, this child is giving me grey hairs before she is even here!!

Aww, hope your grumpy girls cheer up soon Smile! Think it's gonna be another lovely day!!

sunface · 29/09/2011 09:51

woohoo congratulations Leo and welcome to the world zak!

I'm 39+4 today and had a rough night last night, lots and lots of tightening tummy pain, bit of back pain and it all came to nothing this morning :(

Even though this is my 3rd and i should know, can anyone tell me if everyone lose the mucus plug before 'proper' labour starts? i'm getting a lot of white discharge but nothing pink tinged....

sassy34264 · 29/09/2011 10:07

crazy and leo congratulations on your babies! crazy think you have had the dream birth by the sound of it- lucky bugger. Wink

yes bb3 it was me who had carpal tunnel last pregnancy. it was awful. i cant recommend splints enough. i ended up in a and e at 5am in the morning to get some as i was literally crying and labour breathing it was so painful. ive not had one twinge this pregnancy. but im not swollen at all. i can still get my rings on, whereas i couldnt get my flower ring past my nail last pregnancy!
dont do what i did though (whoever has it?) and not bother to take your splints to the hospital cos you read it goes after birth- err, no it doesnt! took me a week or two to unswell and i had to keep wearing them. make sure they give you the rigid ones and not the bandage type ones that they use when you have a sprain. i found shaking my hands at the wrist helped sometimes and massaging the fingers which are in pain.

sunface the mucus plug can be clear. my waters broke with twins and i never saw a mucus plug at the time or before hand, so im clueless as to what it looks like too.

BB3 · 29/09/2011 10:07

sunface I havent had show or 'plug' with either pregnancy so it's not a mandatory part of labour.

groovy what did they say this morning? (you're probably still at your appointment!) hope all is going well.

Leo hope you and baby Zak are settling ok. How's the infection? Hope you're enjoying lots of new baby snuggles x

BB3 · 29/09/2011 10:10

Sorry meant to at I'm sure it came out both times but by that time I was already in full blown labour or surgery so didn't register it at all.

sunface · 29/09/2011 10:26

thanks ladies, really hoping that something will happen today or tomorrow, fingers crossed........just can't remember what happened last time other than bad period like cramps and back pain and then lots and lots of contractions/tightenings......

Hope the sun is shining where you guys are! Bit overcast up here in Scotland, warm though!

GroovyRach · 29/09/2011 10:35

Hello, I'm hooked up to trace just now. Baby is doing fine, they can tell by heart trace that she is moving, I just can't feel it! Student mw thinks they will prob give me an induction date, so just waiting to hear. Said head still isn't quite engaged. Had bit more show just before I left house but again, mw thinks that as it was brown (tmi!) it might be from when I had sweep on tue. Who knows! This pregnancy/labour malarky is hard work!

Congrats on little Zak!

crazy I'm hoping my labour can be as quick!! Congratulations!!!

GroovyRach · 29/09/2011 10:50

sunface I'll second the heat in scotland! Very warm, but cloudy Sad. Did say on radio the sun would come out later Smile

So funny, 3 people in ward on trace machines, all the hearts are beating together!

MamaMaiasaura · 29/09/2011 10:54

Congratulations crazy and Leo.

Sounds like dream birth crazy Smile

Leo - hope infection all cleared soon. Love name Zac (our favourite for boy Smile)

Went out with girls last night and my feet were all swollen (only a pizza out for couple hours). All fine at first this morning but swollen again Sad. Wanted to get out doing fun in glorious sunshine and I feel like I have elephant woman feet.

mpops · 29/09/2011 11:54

Leo, yay! Lots of good wishes for you and baby Zak. Hope your infection clears up and you get home soon. x

Fleecy · 29/09/2011 12:20

Congratulations leo - look forward to hearing the full story and hope your infection clears up soon.

I never saw my mucus plus in either previous pregnancy but both my labours started with my waters going so perhaps that's why. Have had some bloody mucus over the last week but again I think this is from the internals when I was in hospital rather than a sign of any imminent arrival!

GroovyRach · 29/09/2011 13:49

They want to induce me now!!!

BB3 · 29/09/2011 13:51

Go groovy get that baby out and then you can both go to your brothers wedding! Yay!!!

PenguinArmy · 29/09/2011 13:52

good luck groovy

Initially the hospital called me back and said no, it had to be next week. Cue e getting all emotional again (can't for the live of me work out why) and wanting to call into a cupboard to give birth and going nowhere near the hospital. Then they called back, have a cancellation tomorrow morning :) maybe I can finally come to a firm decision about what I want and what it is I'm worried about.

GroovyRach · 29/09/2011 14:04

But how likey is it that I'll have her? He said it could take days! Think I'm gonna speak to them again and ask if I can wait a few days, it's all too soon!

PenguinArmy · 29/09/2011 14:07

it could be a few days you are right. It's worth speaking to them, my opinion is that if they were really worried they would go for a CS. Maybe ask for monitoring over a few days instead?

BB3 · 29/09/2011 14:37

Oh right I was induced and had ds a few hours later but then I went straight on the drip thing. Maybe see what they say xx hope all goes ok

Bumpsadaisie · 29/09/2011 15:47

Is it your first Groovy?

FWIW this is how my induction with DD (at 40 weeks exactly) went. It was starting from scratch as I hadn't had a show or any contractions/cramps though.

9am Sunday - 24 hour pessary
9am Monday - 7 hour pessary
Some point on Monday - waters broken, put on the drip
1am Tuesday morning - epidural in
9.40am Tuesday morning, DD born!

bilblio · 29/09/2011 16:44

Just in case people haven't spotted it, a group are putting together a collection for CupofTea to get her some things to help out. Suggestions so far are things like a cleaner, frozen meals.

The thread is here

CheshireDing · 29/09/2011 17:00

Finished work so can now join you ladies on maternity leave -although technically it is holiday first, then mat leave the day before Porgey is due - but who cares about the specifics I am not in work and it's going to be roasting tomorrow :)

Plus I don't have the fear now of my waters breaking at work Blush

Got some Next vouchers so am very excited about spending those.

38+1

GroovyRach · 29/09/2011 17:13

Well, I'm home. What a feckin nightmare!! On my notes, it was made out that I needed to deliver now, but this wasent made clear to me at time! All mw commented that heart was fine, showed signs of movement, but I just couldn't feel them as strong. The doc that I spoke to advised an induction in next few days, but just si happened to be a slot at 2pm so he took it.

Just feel the whole thing was rushed upon me and made out to be an emergency when it's not. She is moving, I can feel her! Doc I spoke to when I went back up said it was my choice what I done, but in the event that anything happened, they wouldn't be held responsible!

I need to eat, drink, sleep and relax!!! What a day Sad

BabCNesbitt · 29/09/2011 17:18

Yay, enjoy the sunshine, Cheshire! Last day for me tomorrow, but missed most of today as MW sent me up to hospital for a scan to confirm that the baby was still breech - and yep, she is, so I'm booked in for an ECV on the 10th. Guess I'd better get that bag packed in the next week, then...

Congratulations, crazy and Leo!
