Jane they're brilliant. Don't get me wrong, I'm constantly knackered and being a mum to three kids is so much more demanding than a full time job!
For the first week at least it was a never ending cycle of feeding, changing, sleeping, playing with DS, washing, feeding etc. My nipples were (and are still a little) screwed and I had no sleep! But I don't care. They are THE most gorgeous little girls (I am bias I know) and ds has mesmerised me at his acceptance of them.
They are now above their birth weight (after losing a bit) and feeding really well so I've stopped being so strict on feeding every three hours and have shifted to more demand-led feeding which means they sleep longer between feeds at night (although are a bit more demanding in the day!). So my supply is a bit shot so waiting for that to regulate. Am hoping this will continue to be successful but who knows!!
They have such different personalities Ayse is a little madam who is so chilled and happy but you do something she doesn't like (like change her nappy) and boy does she tell you about it and give you her best mardy face afterwards before going back to cuddles and happiness again whereas Ede is a bit of a princess, she's cuddly like a koala bear but whimpers like a mouse at little things that upset her all day!).
Crikey that was a bit of a mammoth post but suffice to say they are lovely - I was kind of worried about having girls (I'm a bit of a boys girl) but they have completely changed my perspective. I haven't even thought about work (I haven't had time but still) which is soooo unlike me!
sassy fingers crossed all will be fine for the vbac - I'm not sure what I'd want to do if we have another one. I loved the ease of a csec compared to the pain of labour but 4 more weeks of no proper exercise or driving is going to be very hard.
