Go Leo

Promise to catch up later, just want to say good luck xxx

MamaMaiasaura · 26/09/2011 20:31

Hope it all goes well Leo :) x

mpops · 26/09/2011 20:47

Leo, good luck! x

TallyBear · 26/09/2011 20:53

Hope all goes well Leo, I'm sure it will. Think positive (easier said than done, I'll agree)!

Now apologies - a rant coming on.....

None of my deliveries turned up today. When I phoned it seemed one was here at 3:50 (bulls**t, as I was, they didn't ring the bell, put a card through or anything) and has had to be re-scheduled for Wednesday as I've got mw tomorrow and sod's law they would turn up when I'm out and the other, out of four parcels to be delivered apparently one was delivered to a random person/address on Friday (despite me arranging on Thurs for it to be redelivered today), another has been returned to the sender and they have no knowledge whatsoever of the other two!

I already had a nightmare last week with them all turning up on the wrong day when I was at work and I was promised that they would all be here today. Not impressed!

Now, where's the chocolates....?! I might even have to raid my secret stash.

bilblio · 26/09/2011 20:56

leo Good Luck, another October baby on its way in September.

Scheh Glad to hear you're heading home.

MrsH I'd wash them too. Whenever DD stays at MIL and has her clothes washed there she doesn't smell like DD.
SIL gave me a load of beautiful baby clothes, which I know were all clean, but I had to wash them in my own wash powder because otherwise DD smelt like DN, and it was just weird!
One of the best things about newborn babies is their smell... but half of that is the wash powder, you get used to your own wash powder so don't notice it, but it's really obvious if it's something different.

Thankfully my Mum uses Ecover like me, so the 2 Ikea bags of baby clothes I've been given by people smell fine. :o

I think I'm the only one not craving junk food.... in fact I seem to have completely lost my appetite. (She says after polishing off the roast DH made tonight.) I'm getting bad heartburn now so I'm thinking twice before eating anything.

Another MW appointment tomorrow. I'm going to speak to her about my asthma and see if she can hurry through a GP appointment. If not while I'm at the Doctors I'll find out which GP is best with asthma and book to see them.

I've had really bad period like pains today, I think I've just done too much, but it did bring back memories of the few days before DD arrived. Still not packed hospital bag... but I have got a list now. :o

mpops · 26/09/2011 22:23

bilblio, PACK YOUR HOSPITAL BAG! You're stressing me out and I don't even know you! Grin

Penelope1980 · 26/09/2011 22:24

leo best of luck!

I re-washed all the clothes as well, smells aside it helped me to sort them and familiarise myself with what I'd been given.

biblio could be moving closer for you perhaps? I had some bad pains come and go about 12 hours ago, three about half an hour apart, but nothing since. I'm going to the midwife later on though and she's going to give me an internal which will be good as will give me a better idea of how things are looking. If she says nothing looks like it will happen for a while, at least I'll make some firmer plans for later in the week and stop going from day to day waiting for baby. Last week she told me it was unlikely to be imminent as of then and I found that made for a much more pleasant week.

39+5 today - due in two more sleeps

SconesForTea · 26/09/2011 22:26

Good luck Leo!

Welcome home to Scheh, how is life with DS?

MrsH definitely wash them, do it when your mum is round and get it done in a day. DH and MIL need never know, everyone's happy.

sassy excellent that DP is not going abroad.

PA just give the MWs a ring! Why wait for them to call you?

Tally Angry that is shocking service.

Well I'm booked in for my home birth Smile So long as I go into labour between 37 and 42w should be fine. Scraped it with DD at 40+14 Hmm I am really hoping that this one isn't quite so overdue.

36+2 and tired, hormonal and weepy. Oh and full of cake Grin

LittlePebble · 26/09/2011 22:35

Good luck Leo x

GroovyRach · 26/09/2011 23:13

BB3 · 27/09/2011 00:39

Ooooh busy evening.

MrsH - definitely wash them. LO will never smell right if you don't. Today I washed up all my DN outfits that DSis gave me.

Hope everything is going ok Leo x

Blinking deliveries - that is awful.so frustrating as it's I've of those things that apart from screaming down the phone there is little you can do!

Sassy - so glad DP isn't going - at least you know he's making the effort to be with you.

So excited for new babies!!! this time last week I was in theatre about to meet my babies. Can't believe the girls have already been with us for a week!!GrinGrinGrin

BB3 · 27/09/2011 05:46

Leo4 · 27/09/2011 05:49

LittlePebble · 27/09/2011 06:21

morning Leo, hope things start moving for you soon. x

BB3 · 27/09/2011 08:13

BabCNesbitt · 27/09/2011 11:23

So yes, I did sit with a packet of frozen sweetcorn on the top of my bump for twenty minutes last night in an attempt to get wee yin to turn head-down. For my efforts I got a few hours of frantic kicking overnight (in the wrong place) and then a head back in my ribs this morning :(

Good luck Leo! Hope everything's going well!

Tallybear, how frustrating! Where did you order all the stuff from? Couriers so often suck!

MrsH, I usually use a laundry liquid that has no scent at all, so when I've been buying baby clothes from eBay (my new hobby, it seems Blush ), I've had to put everything through the wash to try and get rid of the washing powder smell. I don't think you need to feel bad about doing that, but if you think your MIL would be really offended, then there's no need to let her know. (Also: am I the only person who's not ironing baby clothes? I'm far too lazy to be bothered with that!)

Engelsmeisje · 27/09/2011 12:36

All my friends (especially my friends who already have children) are laughing at me for ironing baby clothes.

I KNOW I will never have time to do this once the baby is actually here, but it just makes me feel that I'm doing something useful (and it's more appealing than cleaning the shower) while I wait for the baby to arrive!

TallyBear · 27/09/2011 13:24

Bab/Engels I don't iron and have no intention of starting now! I hate ironing and the clothes are so small anyway I'm not sure how to do it without a teeny tiny iron.

Update on the deliveries: the one I re-ordered for tomorrow (Mamas and Papas) due to my mw app today is apparently on it's way today instead! I left a note on the door while I was at the mw but I don't think they've turned up yet. Who knows when they will actually turn up; maybe one day it will be the day they are supposed to! The other (Boots) I've discovered, after several phone calls and emails, that it was not delivered to someone else after all, that all four items are in the two deliveries and they've gone back to the sender, despite me being promised last week that they would be delivered yesterday. They now should be coming on Thursday. So that's potentially another 2.5 days when I can't go out of the house or do anything too loud in case I miss them. I thought ml was supposed to be fun and relaxing! I hate the couriers even more given that they forced me to buy a large slice of chocolate cake and a bag of Crunchie Rocks!

Even more annoying, next door are putting in solar panels, which means four vans blocking the car in (had to walk to mw app - I'm not the best driver in the world and I didn't fancy getting in and out with an audience, even if they did move them) and banging/drilling from 9 this morning. LO kept me awake doing somersaults for ages last night so, with all this, I'm not in the cheeriest of moods (choc cake did help a bit though!)

Still, I hope everything is going better for Leo, should be moving by now I would think. Looking forward for some good baby arrival news to cheer me up.

Happy one week birthday to BB3's LOs.

Mimatchin · 27/09/2011 13:30

Leo Good Luck!!

I did not iron baby clothes yet but will do as soon as I have time and I agree with you Engels it is far more pleasant than cleaning the bathroom.

Tallybear Same issues as you with deliveries and in fact apart from screaming down the phone you cannot do much. It's been 2 weeks I am waiting for a screw to fix the cot bed I bought from Mamas and Papas, they also forgot to put the towel rail Angry in the box for the cot top changer.

I am 38+2 today and no sign of anything...Baby is moving regularily, a slight backhache but I think it is more due to the fact that the mattress I am sleeping on is not suitable but I will receive my new bed tomorrow afternoon. Her head is down and she kicks my ribs sometimes but nothing too bad...I am just using this time left to have my home ready, I ordered beautiful curtains which will be ready end of this week and I am heading to Ikea this afternoon to get ceiling shade and a futon for my living room. After painting (alone) my whole corridor last week end I just need to vaccum clean and relax...Since the beggining of ML (I was scared to get bored and get impatient)at the end of the day it is not too bad. Hope baby love will give me until the end of this week as my baby shower is planned for friday :)

Mimatchin · 27/09/2011 13:35

PS: I am slo going to get some of those huge chocolate bars from Ikea..yummy..Wink

CheshireDing · 27/09/2011 16:58

Did you buy Dime Bar Cheesecake too Mimas? That is the only thing I like about Ikea!

We are waiting for a screw for our Mamas and Papas cot too, it's not the end of the world because we are just going to put the Moses basket in the cot so baby gets used to the cot but still annoying.

I washed all Porgeys clothes and ironed them all, it took hours and hours and I am not sure I fancy ironing them all again, including hats. I did wonder I you would be able to tell once it's on the baby but then I do iron tea towels too so maybe I am just sad!

Wonder how Leo is getting on?

TallyBear · 27/09/2011 17:12

Well the M&P cot arrived (wrong day after all that but at least I was in). Box a bit battered from all the moving on and off vans, so hope it's OK, and sounds like I'd better check all the screws are there. We weren't planning on putting it up straight away as he'll be in the moses basket and it's one more thing to find room for, but I think we ought to. One down, two to go...

Oooo, Dime bar cheesecake..mmmmm. Ikea meatballs....mmmm. Sorry Cheshire but Ikea rocks. Plus their baby sleeping bags are only a tenner and they have great kids stuff.

MamaMaiasaura · 27/09/2011 17:44

Back from midwife. Measuring 41 weeks :0 and baby 3/5. Also weighed me and put on 6.5kg so that's about 14lb (1 stone). I'm so uncomfortable (sorry moaning) but want baby here now.
