OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
PamBeesly · 21/09/2011 13:58

I get them from time to time Bill. If you can, lie down on your left hand side and try some deep breathing, don't be overly concerned unless they are happening more frequently than you think is normal or you are uncomfortable

MrsHuxtable · 21/09/2011 14:33

Hello again,
what a day I had so far. I was at the doctors to get another sick note and also to get blood taken because so far all the midwives I've seen never managed to get any out of me (bad veins they said). It was for all those bloods they usually do at the booking appointment, so quite a lot. Anyway, after a lot of poking, GP managed to get the blood flowing but when she was halfway done, something weird happened. She said the vein collapsed? But basically blood was running out my arm next to the needle like crazy and it took ages to get it to stop. She then had to get the rest with a syringe from the other arm. I'm glad it's done though!!!

Bill I love the name Lucy. It always reminds me of that Lucy who was on the X-Factor a couple of years ago and I always thought she was beautiful.

Wicket I know what you mean by being delighted someone else is still sick. I feel like a total idiot and like people don't believe me you can still have sickness that bad in your 2nd trimester...

rnbsmum I've actually started to crochet a baby blanket. I'm making granny squares and want to incorporate her name in it as well. Not sure how to attach the squares to each other though.

MrsHuxtable · 21/09/2011 14:35

Sugar I share your frustration about lack of ante-natal activities. I'm in a small city in Central Scotland and there is nothing going on for expecting mums. I always thought I'd like to do some aquanatal or pregnancy yoga but nada...

littlemonkeybix · 21/09/2011 15:27

Bill I have suffered with palpitations. I spoke to the MW about it last week, and she said it's perfectly normal but if I was worried I could speak to the GP. I had read up on them on the net, so wasn't worried, but they've eased a bit now anyway. I was really suffering at night time, they were keeping me awake. Confused

I couldnt even blame caffeine this time!! I have been able to in the past (bad week at work, too much coffee, palpitational Monkey) Blush

CoffeeOne · 21/09/2011 16:43

Eep, 4 pages to catch up on! Chatty bunch.

Read the last couple of posts, re the ante natal classes my area has aquanatal and pregnancy yoga and they're both during 'normal' working hours Angry I'm really miffed as I'd like to go to both but can't as I'm working full time.

Bill - I've been getting palpitations once a day or so, I'm sure it's normal, just have a lie down.

18+4

littlemonkeybix · 21/09/2011 16:55

I'd like some pregnancy yoga, but there doesn't appear to be any... I am carrying on with my Body Balance which incorporates yoga, pilates and tai chi. Was kind of hoping that mine would end up in work time as I am lucky and would be allowed!! Aqua was , but has been moved!! the slacker in me cried

Is there not a normal yoga class that you can attend where they can accommodate your pregnancy Coffee? That's what my BB teacher is doing.... adapting bits just for me (I feel special!!) Or a DVD??

I have to be honest, I'd have been gutted to totally stop my classes. As much as I dont have the energy yet to do my usual two a week I love my one, and as soon as energy permits, I'm back to two (plus aqua if it's OK next week!! And maybe recommence my weekly swim too!!?)

I may be a fatty, but an active one Grin

PS bump is definitely there... just under my flab!!

littlemonkeybix · 21/09/2011 16:55

damn... that was meant to be a strikethrough, not an underline!! duh me!

Potol · 21/09/2011 17:00

Hello all, my god we all talk a lot don't we?! Grin

Anyway, 20 week scan was yesterday. All is well. And we're having a boy! I'm in deep shock. My side of the family has no boys in living memory...! But I also have a low lying placenta or the edge of a placenta- so a scan at 36 weeks to see if I need a C-section.
Sorry for not responding to ppl individually- but fingers crossed that everyone else's scans go well.

m1nn1em0u5e · 21/09/2011 17:14

Liking the name Emma, thats my name!...Congratulations on all the good scans, seems to be a lot of girls!..A fellow team blue member Potol!..Been shopping in m&s for baby clothes today, they have got some lovely things in....shame most of what I wanted was out of stock in newborn or 0-3 months....aah well, probably saved dp a fortune!....Still deliberating over prams, such a hard decision to make....We are having the Humphreys corner nursery bedding from Mothercare, its lovely & bright!..sure I felt my little mans bottom or head earlier while I was feeling my bump!..sorry to hear so many of you are still so sickly....I still feel nauseas quite a lot & getting lots of heartburn! The joys hey....

m1nn1em0u5e · 21/09/2011 17:15

Oh I forgot, 22 weeks today! :)

babycarmen · 21/09/2011 17:28

Scan update! :)

Well the scan was brilliant, baby is perfect and healthy and a little poser, got some gorgeous pics, one looks like its picking its nose (just like daddy, aww ;) ) the hospital dont tell you the sex but im pretty sure its a girl! Just 6 weeks til our sexing scan, i cant wait to go shopping :D So happy and relieved :)

Congratulations to everyone else with the good scans :) what a lovely stage!

Just had a glance over the thread, i found some pregnancy yoga on one of the sky channels, body in balance or something like that, its on quite early but i recorded a few and have been doing that. I miss the gym and with SPD yoga is the only thing i feel comfortable doing.

I had to have a nap when i got home from the scan, DD is so energetic and her attitude is 3 going on 16 Hmm I think shes getting a bit fed up of all the baby talk so trying to lay off it a bit around her and concentrate on her birthday in 6 weeks time!

diedandgonetodevon · 21/09/2011 18:34

There have been some lovely names mentioned Smile. So far think they all sound beautiful- unusual for me as I'm quite hard to please with names, as poor DH knows all too well.

Am really stuggling with a bad cold. Was not able to sleep at all last night as I couldn't breathe and wasn't able to get comfortable. However, on the plus side it meant I discovered that the baby is awake and really active over night.
Have been feeling movements and then definite kicks for a few weeks but had never been able to get my hand in the right place to feel them from outside but as I had a lot of time on my hands last night I just lay there with my hands on my bump until I felt it- was really lovely.

diedandgonetodevon · 21/09/2011 18:35

ooh, forgot to add:
19+6 (half way tomorrow- where has all the time gone?!)

QueenFee · 21/09/2011 18:48

Gosh you lot can talk!
Will have a read then post later on when I can nick the laptop off dh...

Sugar80 · 21/09/2011 19:06

Will look into normal yoga classes I think. I'm in deepest darkest rural Gloucestershire so there's not a great deal about. My other option is to look into lunch hour or pre/post work classes in Bristol... I feel like I should be doing something....

phlossie · 21/09/2011 19:55

I do classes with Purely Pregnant in Southville, Sugar. I did prenatal yoga at Yoga West on Gloucester Road with DC1 which starts ar 6.15pm, so maybe good for after work?

Hello Mrs H, welcome back! Feeling much less anxious, thanks. How about you?

Well done on your scans, everyone. A boy, eh, Potol. Boys are lovely. I recommend them! My PFB is a boy, and that was a shock - I couldn't imagine myself with a boy, but he's wonderful.

Sugarkane · 21/09/2011 20:16

MrsHuxtable im in Falkirk and there is bugger all here to do in PG.

Bill Ive had them with all my PG if you get worried ask you MW to check your iron levels again as that can really kick them off.

m1nn1em0u5e Mothercare have a sale on at the min might be worth checking if they have the bedding you want on offer.

Great news on the scans everyone.

Well quick update here I feel so bloody stupid ive been really depressed the last week or so and hadnt put two and two together that I needed a B12 injection, had one and im really starting to pick up, why didnt I remember before now??? Anyway hopefully im turning a corner now, must have been low as the nurse who sees me everytime couldnt believe how pale I was and my tongue had been on edge for weeks now.

Have done too much walking today and cant even stand up straight bloody SPD, hope everyone is doing well. Sorry for a long me me post.

Sugar80 · 21/09/2011 20:25

phlossie thank you, Southville would be handy for work....

MrsHuxtable · 21/09/2011 20:31

Sugarkane I'm in Stirling so we are practically neighbours!!!! :) There really isn't anything here, is there?! I've already wondered if I'm too incompetent to search for activities..

Phlossie Yes, I'm feeling a lot better too. Still having some pains and a weird heavy feeling but I reckon they would have noticed at the scan if the baby was lying too low down or something.

phlossie · 21/09/2011 21:17

Sugar80 My class is at 7.15pm on Tuesday night at the Southville Centre, but they also do an earlier class, and I think there are other classes in Southville. Might see you there!

potol I had a low lying placenta at 20weeks with DS, but it had moved by 36weeks (which is when they decided DS was a monster-sized baby. He wasn't. But that's a different story!)

Glad you're feeling a bit better, mrsH!

I've just been oogling new houses. What is it about being pregnant and wanting to move?!

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 21/09/2011 21:18

Yay, more Scots! I'm in Edinburgh (although I'm really a Weegie - just defected here 12 years ago!)

MrsHuxtable · 21/09/2011 21:26

I can't believe there are actually people on this bus who live so close to me!!!!

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 21/09/2011 21:35
Grin

So you girls will be giving birth in the shiny new hospital at Larbert, then?

MrsHuxtable · 21/09/2011 21:38

Larbert is my second choice.
The plan is to travel back home to Germany when I'm 35 weeks. Haven't settled on a hospital there yet as there are at least a dozen great ones near me.
But should I be unfit to travel come January, it will be Larbert for me! Have you heard anything about the new hospital there?

Kayano · 21/09/2011 21:40

Anyone in north east? Newcastle? I'm so Envy at people living so close together
Lol
