Kayano · 25/10/2011 15:08

Louby that is why I got referred! I thought I could deal with pain to avoid an epidural but they were concerned if anything 'went wring' during labour that I might freak out and make it worse Sad

It was 1/2 hour session today, back on Monday but unsure of the frequency after that. My work have been very good letting me attend

littlemonkeybix · 25/10/2011 16:24

Queen theres a few ladies in my aquanatal class who havent been offered, and a few who have... Thos that heven't just rang the GP and asked, and got them Smile

I'm already on the hit list as I have asthma, so couldn't tell you if I would have had the call up or not!! Had mine a couple of weeks ago and it was the least painful so far (have them each year)

Also, just had 2 of 4 sets of training cancelled on me. One to reschedule "in the new year" so I'll miss it them most likely! Atleast I am going on the expensive one ... starting Monday!! Ahh.... the Radisson is beckoning me Grin

Kayano - excellent news that the hypno is doing the trick!

BillComptonstrousers · 25/10/2011 16:59

Can I just say to the people who are now on my Facebook, you have some VERY cute children!

babycarmen · 25/10/2011 17:36

Thanks louby :) feeling better now. Just tired as usual!

Lovely scan bill! Im soooo excited to get mine now, its amazing what they can do these days, So cute.

DD is back from her Grannys now and is causing havoc already, my couch is covered in stickers. I HATE stickers. Worst invention ever..
Just back from Asda and bought apples, apples, more apples, pears, oranges, bananas and cake. Lots of cake. Stuck my belly out at the checkout to try and use pregnancy as my excuse but they probably just think i eat too much cake... Grin

Anyones bump making life hard for them? Bending over is starting to be a struggle. And reaching my feet to get my shoes on.. not easy!

25+1

woowa · 25/10/2011 21:56

babycarmen, it only gets worse!! Wait til you can't see your shoes to tie laces. The Worst bit is trying to see your bikini line to dehair it!!! Very difficult!!

Yesterday morning the baby did a huge wriggle while I was lying in bed. Then all day yesterday (which i thought might be a fluke) and again today, all the swelling and dsicomfort has GONE from down below. I have no idea what the baby was sitting on, and what it has now got off, but HOORAY!! I feel like i've got my life back, it's amazing!! I'm getting on with loads of stuff! Enjoying dancing round the kitchen with DD! long may the baby stay off my bits!!

We started potty training this morning, and gave up at lunchtime!! It became clear very quickly that she's just not ready yet (20 months), poor thing was getting a bit confused by it all. Back in nappies and happy days again.

I started to sew a little pod sort of thing to slot into the double pram for the baby to lie in. The ones that come with it cost TWO HUNDRED POUNDS!!! Amazing what people can charge for baby things! Mine is much prettier too!

Night all, i'm finding that switching computer off at ten is a better way of not feeling crap tomorrow than switching it off at midnight. Funny that!

26 weeks today!

louby86 · 25/10/2011 22:23

Just worked out the Facebook link thing, I'm so rubbish with computers! If anyone wants to add me my link is facebook.com/louiseebray Send me a message too so I know who you are! Smile

melliebobs · 26/10/2011 08:39

Finishing work at 8pm and being back in before 8am the next day is wrong. Sick and wrong especially when a lil someone kept me up all night. Roll on 2:30. Laptop, bed and a DVD box set. Will and grace, spaced or green wing?! Hmmm

babycarmen · 26/10/2011 09:31

woowa Yeah i vaguely remember from having DD, its all coming back to me now!
mellie DP finished at 11pm on sunday night and had to be in again at 6am on Monday, no way i could cope with that! Luckily he only works round the corner.

www.facebook.com/AdinaMurray is my link seen as everyone else is doing it! Grin

Rubbish sleep last night, dont want to leave the house today, its freezing outside. My dreams are so messed up i actually dread falling asleep these days!

PamBeesly · 26/10/2011 10:32

Hi everyone!

Today is my hospital check up and hopefully I will get a scan too, I have my fingers crossed everything is ok and if we do get a scan I really want to find out if its a boy or girl.

I have had difficulties sleeping the last three nights, just an inability to nod off. I wake very early and I'm tired for the entire day. Does anyone else have have this problem?

monkey sorry Mothercare are being so stupid about their discount but if I remember correctly if they have an offer they are legally obliged to honour it

Bill my maternity information leaflet says avoid feta but I'm in Ireland so NHS guidelines might be different, some sites say its ok others say avoid.

Has anyone had a glucose tolerance test yet?

22+5 Grin

PamBeesly · 26/10/2011 10:33

mellie your afternoon plans sound wonderful enjoy, don't forget the chocolate :)

littlemonkeybix · 26/10/2011 11:17

Morning folks Smile

Pam I had mine on the 17th, and it came back fine!! I was amazed as my mum, here mum, and her mum before are/were diabetic, so I was expecting to get the news!! I immediately had a bugger load of chocolate to celebrate... how very appropriate (?) Grin

UPDATE - Mothercare have responded.... and have apologised, and explained about them having technical issues with their website, and the discounts not being applied. Also as I already had free delivery, they're going to send me a gift card (probably only a couple of quid, but I wasn't after money) So I am happy that they've taken me seriously.

Hope you have a good scan/appointment, and get your gender found out pam Smile

Hope we've all got a lovely sunny autumn day going on, I have, but stuck in work (booooo)

Mellie I vote for spaced Wink

21+4 and MASSIVE - hoping to get a bump pic up today

littlemonkeybix · 26/10/2011 11:28

Bump pic up and working (from my PC anyway!) out of focus, and in our spare room as we are still renovating.... we still have no bedrooms done... and the panic is just on the horizon!

Gooseysgirl · 26/10/2011 12:02

Hi all,
I had my flu jab last week... Kayano for what it's worth I don't really enjoy needles either but have to say I hardly felt the flu jab going in, it was like a tiny pin prick... a hell of a lot easier than getting blood drawn for blood tests! I automatically get offered flu jab at work because I work with children, work give us vouchers to get the jab done at Boots. Boots wouldn't do mine because I'm pregnant so ended up going to GP surgery to have it done in the end.. At our surgery the nurse has been running a flu jab clinic every week. Had the flu (as in the real 'wipes you out for two weeks' flu) a few years ago and don't ever want to experience it again so getting the jab was a no brainer for me. Also the jab gives protection for the baby for a few months after it's born, so bearing in mind the time of year our babies are coming I think it's great.
Re. MatB1 form... once you pass 20 weeks you can get it. I went to my GP yesterday to get it because both myself and my DH need to sort our leave asap. DH's company have already been asking for it. MW also issue them but I wouldn't be waiting til next appt in case it's past 25 wks. Wouldn't it be SOOO much easier if they automatically gave them out at 20 weeks scan!!
Am off home to Ireland tonight for a family wedding at the weekend, have to be a bridesmaid - thankfully got the dress in a bigger size months ago and it still fits.. phew!!!

22 + 2

littlemonkeybix · 26/10/2011 13:14

Ooooh enjoy goosey

I presumed they DID give out the MATB1 at the scan... was surprised when they didn't. Gonna have to call the GP for mine as my next appointment is just after the cut off date for work Smile

glowfrog · 26/10/2011 14:23

Kayano - got my flu jab done as well and can confirm it's a doozy. Over in literally half a second, didn't feel a thing and I HATE needles (which makes blood tests fun as I have shitty veins docs can never find in the usual places at the elbow). Also lucky in that I didn't get any potential side-effects like sore arm or headache....

24 weeks and 3 days today, and another scan tomorrow. Hopefully Baby's bowels have cleared!

melliebobs · 26/10/2011 16:05

Ok ASOS. Tired pregnant lady here. I defy you to find ANY pregnant lady beyond 20 weeks that fits into one of the dresses I ordered! Angry

I'm a size 14/16. Ordered a size 16 maternity dress. Now at 23 weeks I don't have a bump to speak of. Yet I struggled to zip up said dress. So if you are actually a size 16 and indeed pregnant with any kind of bump. God only knows where u are supposed to put it!

littlemonkeybix · 26/10/2011 16:15

Aww Mellie I feel for you!!!

I'm a size 20... and I'm clearly not allowed to either be pregnant, or if I am going to get myself up the duff, there's no way any bugger's gonna make clothes that'll fit, so better stay indoors!

Frustrating as hell isn't it Sad

It's as bad when I wasn't pregnant... "they" presume if you're a big lass, you MUST look like a balloon/Purple Ronnie... so all my clothes sag around the waist. I still go in and out like a woman should, but the clothes are few and far between that fit me!

PamBeesly · 26/10/2011 16:18

I'm having a boy yeah!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited now to meet him, only another 17 weeks and 2 days....or thereabouts [hgrin]

m1nn1em0u5e · 26/10/2011 16:20

Arghhh soooo tired! I know im being a grump but just cant help it! Took my boys to the cinema this morning & then for hair cuts....im fit for nothing now!....seriously need to go food shopping too!....Roll on Jan/Feb!....

Kayano · 26/10/2011 16:38

Thanks everyone Grin but I'm still not even entertaining the idea of the flu jab. The flu jab can kiss my ass lol

I am also really happy for you pam hopefully the weeks will fly by now!

Purpletoes · 26/10/2011 17:55

congratulations pam

I am 25 weeks today and having a boy. I went shopping today and bought my first clothes for baby and am now alternating between excitement and complete fear! Grin

Hope everyone is having a good day

melliebobs · 26/10/2011 17:59

congratulations pam uber jealous of you knowing one way or the other!

monkey clothes shopping has always been a bloomin nightmare. Pre pregnancy when i was a size 16 alot of places seem to think that there is some kind of correlation between dress size and height and most size 16 stuff is always a mile to long! Heaven forbid I be allowed anything nice. Ah well. I'll just have to dress in a potato sack, which is what alot of the maternity stuff is looking like at the mo!

lol and on that note i'm off to Pizza Express with DH, MIL & BIL. Lol that will help the situation!

hermionejgroooaaanger · 26/10/2011 18:17

hello everyone...eugh i'm so rubbish at keeping up with this thread and it moves so fast! bill, QueenFee, louby and babyc I hope you don't mind but I'll add you on fb as I'm a nosy cow - mine is www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=618828447 and apologies in advance as i'm a stupid-game-player so you might want to block pioneer trail Blush

Nothing exciting is really happening (of course apart from that fact that THERE'S A BABY ON THE WAY!!!!) - got a letter from my GP practice inviting me for a flu jab, and when I rang to book an appointment they said "oh sorry there aren't any at the moment"! Huh? They said they are going to ring me when there are some though so I think I'll wait until my next GP/MW appointment and see if I can book one then. I think it's a GP appointment this time - can they do the MATB1?

oh and congrats on the boy pam :)... and kayano I hope you feel a bit more positive soon (perhaps you could HAVE the flu jab in your ass instead...hahaha)... and monkey well done for taking on Mothercare... babyc and mellie I sympathise re: the GP - I've been with my practice for a while now and have a couple of "favourites" I choose every time. I only see the hot one when I don't have an embarrassing problem though Grin

sorry if I've missed anyone...

23+5 (I think...)

PamBeesly · 26/10/2011 18:18

Thanks everyone, Mellie not too long until you find out, except it seems like ages.

Purple I bought a little dinosaur outfit for him and looking at it, I too was alternating between excitment and terror, I really don't know anything, but I know when he is here it will be my instinct to protect him and make sure he is ok....and there is always mumsnet for the reassurance :) All my pregnancy and TTC concerns have been answered here I'd be lost without it

monkey completley agree with you about the clothes I was a 16 before pregnancy and now a size 20 maternity is comfy, I'm only 23 weeks, what will be comfy in another 10 weeks? I live in leggings and tops, no chance of skinny jeans(or any denims) for me

Thanks Kayano no one mentioned anything to me about the flu jab today so I'll wait and see if GP mentions it

Goosey welcome home! Enjoy Ireland

babycarmen · 26/10/2011 18:44

Congrats Pam! Roll on Tuesday when i find out what team im on Grin so exciting!

hermione you might want to block Sims Social Blush Grin

Ive been living in my ASOS maternity jeans. Only pair that fit me. :( When im at home its pj bottoms all the way. You wouldnt find me in anything other then skinny jeans before - no chance now! Id hate to buy new clothes when ive only got a couple of months left.. I WILL FIT INTO SOMETHING!
