Kayano · 23/10/2011 22:13

Also... I've already had swine flu so... shrug

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 23/10/2011 22:27

BTW, that's us 4/5ths of the way through this thread - wow! We talk a lot! How many threads do you think we're going to get through by the time we've all popped?!

Crazybit · 23/10/2011 23:31

BillC-Added you on FB, scan pics and video are amazing. Am thinking of getting one, in two minds.

Re Flu jab, I had mine last week, had a sore arm for a while but fine apart from that. I was in two minds, but figure it's better to follow advice than not to, and things go wrong, then it'll all be my fault. All down to an individual choice though.

We're going away to visit family tomorrow so wont be on for a few days, it's half term so going to be busy as usual, and dd2 has 2 weeks off for some reason grr.

QueenFee · 23/10/2011 23:48

wow we do talk at lot!

Bill will add you on fbook (nosy emoticon...) If anyone want to add me it's www.facebook.com/fionacben. Just message me your username so I have an idea who you are!

I had swine flu last year and I really never ever want to have it again. Dh missed christmas in a comotose haze :(

I have popped a pic on my profile of me ready to go out last night with my lovely new top! (excuse the pic quality dh isn't the best at photos)

Bubs proceded to kick me all through the service this morning. Very distracting. I don't notice it when I have all the other kids as I am so used to being elbowed etc.
Got some really funny looks walking down the high st yesterday. I had my 3 with me (7,5,2,) and was babysitting my friends dd whos 8 months. I could see people look in the pram and then at bump and give me a sympathetic look! I might as well have been barefoot!

deardear · 24/10/2011 06:49

early get up for me this morning - on my week off! not impressed at all. had a phone call from work last night. 7pm - not happy at all and now stressing like mad. have fired a letter off to the said director in response to the phone call already so will be interesting to see what happens. could really do without the stress atm :(

BillC have added you as well on FB.

Hope everyone ok and those with school kids dont get too hassled this week while they are off!

melliebobs · 24/10/2011 08:22

RE flu jab i aint had mine and struggling to find somewhere that does the single vaccination. I work for the NHS so they do sessions of vaccinations but every time i've been they've been the combined vaccination and there hasn't been enough research for my liking about getting the combined one and being pregnant etc etc. I'd happily get the single one though. Off to the drs anyway this morning. Woke up this morning and can't hear :( It's throwing my balance well off and look like a drunk when i'm walking

notcitrus · 24/10/2011 12:25

mellie - which part of the jab are you concerned about? This year's jab is this year's most likely circulating forms of virus, plus the H1N1 form that is the same as the last couple years, only without the extra adjuvants they used back when swine/bird flu was an immediate worry. I used to work on H1N1 stuff but have friends at the HPA who told me to have the jab!

I was in and out of the building in under 2 minutes! :)

Kayano · 24/10/2011 16:49

Seriously... What the f has just happened?!

I feel like someone has got a knife. Cut all around my left hip and my groin area... And then has stabbed me multiple times in the vajay for good measure.

I am in absolute agony!!

I finished work, got in car (left leg a bit sore) got out of car ok, in front door. One leg on the stairs and BAM!
Have never felt anything like this!!!

babycarmen · 24/10/2011 17:19

Phoned the GP and im in for my flu jab next Wednesday, they offered me a cancellation today but i was busy!

Kayano, Hope youre ok! Call a doctor maybe?? Does it feel like SPD, like as in your back/bones etc or like inside? If that makes sense..

Im so tired im barely functioning today!

Kayano · 24/10/2011 17:35

I don't know what spd feels like Sad I started a thread in the pregnancy topic because it took me so much by surprise! I'm so uncomfortable!

It feels like joint pain around my leg and groin. Dunno what the hell is up down below Sad

babycarmen · 24/10/2011 17:46

If its in the groin area it could well be SPD, might be worth phoning the midwife just to make sure? If it is SPD then i know what youre going through its awful :(

littlemonkeybix · 24/10/2011 21:31

rant on - Well, Mothercare can just fucking fuck off! Angry

I have only placed two orders with them in total... 1st one, the buy 2 get 3rd free didn't work... had to call them "sorry love, I'll do that now" Yes you will.

Just placed another order (finally a COAT!!) with a buy one get one half price (oooh a coat AND a change bag!) and guess what.... the stupid discount didn't work again!!

2 orders, 2 shitty unworking discounts! Do they hope we won't notice? Well I did! And I have written them an email to tell them it's pathetic customer service. Then I asked what and when they would to to refund and/or compensate me.

I await my discount, and nothing more from the big company. SHIT OFF MOTHERCARE! Harumph! Angry - rant off

woowa · 24/10/2011 21:38

when pg with DD the MW made apt for flu jab, it hasn't even been mentioned this time. I think my surgery is full up for it. well, i'll ask her next time I see real MW (rather than at hospital where no-one cares, poor me, poor me etc)!

v tired after another night of teething/cold/coughing from DD. Starting to potty train tomorrow so am planning to get up as soon as she wakes, rather than leaving her to stew for half an hour while i doze...so off to sleep nice and early tonight!

Xavielli · 24/10/2011 23:31

I have a feeling tonight is going to be a long one. Poor ds2 has croup, he's been steamed and dosed up and is fast asleep but every time he barks that's me wide awake again. Ah well, the bigguns are out for the afternoon tomorrow so I should be able to rest then.

Titch is wriggling around like a gooden too and I think I just heard DD bark too. Ah well, atleast ds1 is officially to old for croup!

24+5 and addicted to toffee crisps

phlossie · 25/10/2011 08:45

Ugh, croup's nasty. I have to admit I'm feeling quietly smug at having older children who very very rarely wake up at night and play by themselves happily (leaving me in bed with my laptop!)

Jeff's kicking near my belly button this morning - first time I've felt it there! And DH AND DD felt it this morning. Dh was very excited!

Mmmmmm, toffee crisps.... I am such a fatty-bum-bum, though! 2 stone on thus far. Bah. I swore I wouldn't do it again this time. Ah well, I'll just be dieting again in the spring...

24+2

BillComptonstrousers · 25/10/2011 09:33

Good morning! What a horrible rainy day, had to take DH to the station at 6am so I'm still in bed trying to get the energy up to go to ikea (nightmare) then the metro centre (torture) with my mother and the kids (extra torture)

Waves to the ladies who added me on Facebook! I do love a good nosey at everyones pictures Grin

I've had a headache for 5 days now and it's really pissing me off, can't seem to shift it at all, any ideas anyone???

OP posts:
BillComptonstrousers · 25/10/2011 09:49

Oh and can we eat feta cheese?? I can't remember and I have my eye on some feta and beetroot starter at the restaurant I'm going to tonight..

OP posts:
louby86 · 25/10/2011 11:04

Well I've left it too long now to catch up on personals how fast this thread is moving! Seriously need to ban DH from taking the laptop to work or Santa is going to have to bring me one to keep me sane!

Just tried catching up on my phone and all I can remember is mothercare and feta cheese Blush . I had a rubbish experience with mothercare too and have vowed never to go there again, no wonder they've had to close so many stores!

I think we can eat feta, I'm sure I saw it on a list of 'safe cheeses', I've definitely had some Blush That starter sounds lovely, have a nice time tonight!

After work being really rubbish my doctor doesn't want me to go back and is signing me off until my maternity leave I think, don't know what I'm going to do, I'm so bored already!

Off to start googling cheap laptops........

babycarmen · 25/10/2011 11:36

Bill Added you on FB this morning hope you dont mind, really want to have a nose at your scan, 1 week today til ours Grin

I really, really want need a toffeecrisp now... Envy

DD stayed at my mums last night so i got a lie in today :D Although woke up with a raging sore head :(

25 wks today! And babys eyes are now beginning to open Grin (according to babycentre..)

melliebobs · 25/10/2011 11:58

Really really REALLY can't be arsed. Went to the doctors yesterday to be told i have a sinus infection. He asked ME what I thought we should do. Well i don't bloody know. Thats why i've come to see YOU the so called doctor that has supposedly studied medicine for god knows how many years! He then told me to just use steam, paracetamol and ibuprofen. Ummm hang on, am I ok taking ibuprofen being pregnant and all Hmm his response. "Are you pregnant?" OMG i despair. So i'm stuck feeling dizzy and lousy and begger all I can do. Going to go to work and see how I get on. What i'd give to be signed off until my maternity leave! lol

Also noticed yesterday and today when I walk i get a really painful stabbing/cramping pain under where my 'bump' would be if i had one. Kind of on my waistband. Really hurts to sit up when i'm in bed and putting one foot infront of the other to walk. But hey ho, i'll soldier on till i see the midwife next fri.

Just eugh

littlemonkeybix · 25/10/2011 12:25

RANT ON Angry

oh my fecking hell god! Mothercare have responded.....

Dear Monkey,

Thank you for your email.

I am sorry to hear that a discount was not applied to your order, I can appreciate how frustrating this must be.

Mothercare cannot offer or discuss compensation as this is a legal term. I am sorry if you were unaware of this and for any disappointment caused.

If you would like to contact us once you have received your order and payment has been taken, we will be able to process the necessary refund for you.

Once again I do apologise for any disappointment caused, but I hope this information is of help.

Kind Regards

SO... you are telling me that even though I have told you you fucked up... I have to wait until you have debited me, then ask AGAIN for you to give me back what you should never have taken?!

grrrr... Dear Anne Robinson....

me and DP had decided to get a pram from there... been looking about for aaaaages and finally plumbed for one.... I will now tell DP that I am looking elsewhere. 2 orders, 2 orders fucked up.... you are smashing aren't you Mothercare! Care my arse!

RANT OFF

Sorry folks... Hope we are all well!! I am off to sulk now. shitbags... Angry

littlemonkeybix · 25/10/2011 12:26

mellie your GP sounds like a bit of a dick!! Hope you feel better soon!

Sorry for total selfishness, and no other personals... I am hormonal and self centred today... harumph!

Kayano · 25/10/2011 14:34

Just been to needle phobia thingy and had hypnotherapy. It was only a 30 min session but my...

EVERYONE should have hypnotherapy. Honestly It was puts on welsh accent well lush! I can't wait
To go again! Blush never expected that lol

Bring on the Needles team America style FUCK YEAH!

louby86 · 25/10/2011 14:51

Hope you're feeling better soon mellie and babycarmen

Sorry you're having a rubbish day monkey

Glad you enjoyed your session Kayano Just out of interest, how often have you got to go? I'm not scared of needles as such but more of hospitals in general, I think I'd try and put up with the pain to avoid an epidural but if something happened and I needed a c section I think I'd have some sort of freak out. Sounds like something that could make me feel a bit more relaxed about it all.

QueenFee · 25/10/2011 15:05

I haven't been offered the flu jab?!

Sirry your having a naff time with mother(don't)care. Tbh I have never had a problem with them and the pram I had from them is really good quality. Even if I had bad service I would still buy it! I think a lot of these big companies are the same :(

Thanks to louby and bill for the add on fbook. I haven't got round to a nosy yet as down at my mothers and she is planning a sleepover tonight for my sisyers kids. Sigh. 6 kids 7,7,5,5;3,2. Wish me luck getting some sleep!

Can they hypnotise kids into good behaviour? Grin
