phlossie, you sound like location, location, location! Kirsty and Phil say there's always a compromise with buying a house!

Still exhasuted today, DD was screaming lots of the night, just all bunged up and snotty. Poor thing. Managed to get her to sleep til 9 with calpol though, but havign such a broken night is not having a good effect on me now. ppooooooooooooooooooor me. Much self-pity here!

DH has another interview next monday, somewhere in the East Riding. I think it's somewhere I'd like, but it'll be good to visit. I would LOVE to know where this LO will grow up!! Because it's now just 3 months til baby arrives, at least I know it'll be born here

Which just reminded me - have your Dhs/DPs got their paternity leave request forms in? Supposed to be in by 15th week before due date - which for me is last week. ARGH. Our emplyer will probably cope though!!

Off to sleep i think, as DD will be awake soon, no doubt!

babycarmen, i keep getting stabbing pains in left side of mine. I'm trying to go with the "if it's moving it's ok" line of thought!! No harm in contacting MW though if it doesn't go away or you feel really worried - that is what they're there for!

deardear · 22/10/2011 21:09

omg i have a dinner dance at the end of November and have been looking for a dress - that second one is IT! Payday on Monday so going to buy it :)

I get stabbing pains but have been told by MW that its just ligaments stretching. Also get the odd wee when i cough and sneeze and have had lots this week as have had bronchitus. Not good and pads have been out in force.

LO wakes up as i want to go to sleep and end up going to the loo at least 4 times in quick succession while he plays rugby with my bladder (like rugby players alot more than jumped up footie players!)

watching x factor with the DD's - must say if thats rocking they need to go on a proper night out!

Thanks, woowa baby just started going crazy and is kicking right out around my belly button so maybe was just how she/he was lying :S I dont like contacting midwife unless i think its really serious because i cant go anywhere just now, DD is in bed and DP doesnt finish work til 11:30 and they always ask you to go up and get checked no matter what it is :/
Hope your DHs interview goes well!

phlossie just noticed i said lovely bum Blush you know what i mean!!

BillComptonstrousers · 22/10/2011 21:28

BillComptonstrousers · 22/10/2011 21:37

Ok think they worked! First one is the bump and second is a pic from our amazing 3D scan we had today.

Honestly, if you can afford it, have one done! The lady was lovely and took 45 minutes with us to make sure we got some great pictures, we got a copy of the full scan on DVD an it is just so lovely!

I'm a dispenser in an opticians mellie so if you have any questions about your Dh eyes I'll be happy to answer them x

BillComptonstrousers · 22/10/2011 22:09

Thanks bill he's been told by me and mil that he must make a drs appointment this wk otherwise well take him. So well see what happens.

Sarah Millican was brilliant last night! So different to her tv stuff! Pip was loving it too! For the brief minutes where I stopped laughing it went silly bonkers kicking n proddin n rollin about. Was a constant cycle. DH took us for a curry too. Don't know where this huge appetite is I'm supposed to have is. Only managed half of it then I was stuffed. Was loooovely though Smile a good belated bday treat Smile

Feel like death today though Sad think I'm starting with a cold. Razor blades in my throat all my joints ache and just feel slooooow :(

littlemonkeybix · 23/10/2011 12:34

Aww hope you don't suffer too much Mellie. I've been trying to keep DPs cold at bay for a week, but may be failing! Got the dizzies today - wheeeee!

Saying that, I managed to have the energy to pounce on the poor bugger last night! Ha! And it looks like any attempts I do have will be met with those beautiful face spasms I mentioned last time Shock TMI sorry, but I did end up in hysterics again! So un-sexy!!

Can I ask a dimbo Q... The MATB1 form... Are we supposed to get that at the 20week scan?! Not had mine yet, and my next MW appointment would take me past the dates for work... So going to move it fwd a week! I am presuming that's where I get my form!?

Then I have to sit down and discuss leaving dates for maternity leave! Eeeeeek! Exciting!

Hope everyone is doing ok Smile

Sugar80 · 23/10/2011 13:20

You can ring up your midwife and they'll pop the MATB1 form in the post - that's what mine told me to do. Confirmed my maternity leave starting on 20th Feb, and last day in work will be 10th (will have some holiday to use). It seems a very long way off!!

melliebobs · 23/10/2011 13:21

thanks monkey i sent DH out to do the big shop whilst i'm catching up on last nights strictly. MATB1 you get at ur 24/25 week midwife check. I'll get mine too late than the dates work give me for handing it in, but i'm sure i'm not the only one who will get it late. They will get it as soon as I get it they can't ask for any more. I've already pinpointed out wednesday 25th Jan as my last day at work. Got 12 days annual leave to take so mat leave hopefully start the week before i'm due.

littlemonkeybix · 23/10/2011 13:30

Thanks girls, I think I'll leave my appointment where it is then, but maybe give them a call re form!

Just catchiing up on strictly too... Bloody LOVE it!!

littlemonkeybix · 23/10/2011 13:49

Sorry - keep forgetting!! 21+1

melliebobs · 23/10/2011 13:54

Love strictly but it is getting on my nerves. It really gets my goat that everyone does a different dance. You can't compare a vienesse waltz to a samba. It's madness. Split the group in half. Half do one dance the other half do another. Then you can compare everyone on a level playing field and compare their interpretations. Also don't like Alicia being a judge. Giving away tens in week bloomin 4. No way was tha waltz better than chelsees quickstep. Stoopid. Right I'll shut up now

littlemonkeybix · 23/10/2011 14:13

mellie, I agree! I'm just loving jason donovan, and russell grant though!!

notcitrus · 23/10/2011 19:35

MatB1 forms can't be given out until the 21st week, and then come from your MW, though for some reason they seem surprised when you want one - I had to ask for mine last week and the MW said "Oh, do you need one?" - given you can't apply for mat leave without it... so I made her go find the official stamp and all.

Tip: photocopy it before sending to your HR, in case they lose it and for getting your free dental care/prescriptions etc. They really don't like issuing another! (guess what happened to me last time)

I've got my flu jab on Monday, thanks to someone on MN alerting me to the need and then seeing posters for it at my GP. Again the MW didn't mention that last week...

phlossie - much sympathy with the house-hunting and needing to compromise! Very glad we never have to do that again - just another 5 years or so of DIY on our was-near-derelict place! :)

babycarmen · 23/10/2011 20:29

notcitrus i was wondering about the whole flu jab thing.. i assumed my midwife would tell me about it but she didnt mention it last week and i forgot. I take it we have to go about getting it ourselves if we want it? I'll phone the GP in the morning if thats the case!
My midwife did however throw the MATB1 at me before i got round to asking!

So angry at my dad right now, he reduced me to tears today. He seems to think he has the right to tell me how to live my life (apparently its not right that i will be giving baby DPs last name) despite walking out when i was a baby and not being bothered with me til i was 11. Dont really want to talk about it just had to have a mini rant :(

woowa · 23/10/2011 21:50

rant away babycarmen. Dads can be tricky things.

Flu jab - i had swine flu jab when I was pg with DD (and it was SUCH a controversial thing to have at the time, you should have the threads on here!!). Swine flu was particularly dangerous to pregnant women (as in, was causing death). I don't know if normal flu is that dangerous for us is it? So maybe it's optional rather than advised. Anyone have any actual medical knowledge?!

I had a nap this afternoon while DD did. WONDERFUL! I felt so different this afternoon. I had forgotten how uselful they are and will try to have many more, rather than rushing round the supermarket while she sleeps!!

Hope you all with big children enjoy your half-terms this week.

25+5 (12+2 until induction, if you'd like to feel scared by the nearness of it!!)

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 23/10/2011 21:59

Yes, medical person - the "normal" flu injection is still advised in all trimesters. There is a risk to the baby (premature delivery, stillbirth) in pregnancy, and pregnant women seem to have a higher risk if complications of flu compared to non-pregnant. The flu vaccine this year also has a vaccine for swine flu in it, as that's still about.

Got mine a couple of weeks ago and didn't even have much of a sore arm this year.

Didn't stop the nausea though, unfortunately!

phlossie · 23/10/2011 22:05

Just quickly because I HAVE to go to bed... a nurse friend of mine was saying that she won't be getting the 'flu jab because she has a good immune system, but she said she'd urge all pregnant women to get immunised. The thing with 'flu is because it's a virus it mutates year by year, so you never know what strain's doing the rounds - some more dangerous than others. Pregnant women have a compromised immunity thus making us more suseptable. I'm going to read up on it, but based on her advice, I'll probably get it.

I'll take nice bum - thanks babyc!

Hope you had lovely weekends. It was my Grandpa's 87th birthday today. My children made everyone (hilarious) party bags - they so get party etiquette these days! Mine had Action Man's boot in it!

Sweet dreams Smile

Kayano · 23/10/2011 22:12

I'm not getting the flu jab due to my severe needle phobia which I am sure you are all now thoroughly sick of hearing about!

I figure I have managed to have my blood taken and now need anti D injections... Enough is enough. Not even thinking about it Grin

Probably highly irresponsible but honestly past caring lol
