Taking liberties again Grin as there are only 5 posts to go on old thread. Hope everyone is well this morning!

My feet are boiling! Been like it past 2 evenings. Have to keep dunking them in cold water.

Blimmin sunny weather. Good for drying newborn clothes and blankets though.

Cali I love people touching belly. In first pregnancy it really annoyed me early on ... 'you realise you are touching my uterus don't you. Baby is too small to feel yet.' one work colleague went a bit green round the gills when I said this Grin. He was a first class knob job though.

Caliphora · 29/09/2011 15:01

I'm so glad I live in a stone cottage - my front room is bearable. I'm NOT going out, though!

Belly touching It's more about personal space - if they ask I don't mind - it's the constant reaching over to touch it when they talk about the baby... Grrr! I love it when people ask if the can touch, and Sprout obliges with a kick or a squirm, it's really sweet. It's just the random perception that my body is a free-for-all that miffs me off.

Merlioness · 29/09/2011 15:08

Cali you need to call your landlord about the mould. It's a health risk. In the meantime you can treat it with vinegar (I think it is)?

I've only been belly touched once, but didn't seem to mind it. Was more a bit surprised :)

Sorry you are all feeling rather scorching.

voodoo sending motivation your way! Unfortunately it did nothing for me :(

MooseyMoo · 29/09/2011 15:38

I've only hated someone touching my belly once. I wasn't pregnant, just overweight from glandular fever. I. Was. Mortified.

Completely understand tho Cali. When pregnant people think they can comment on your size and touch you.

Caliphora · 29/09/2011 15:42

Merl Argh! Just did some quick research, and the mould combined with the medication I'm taking (and thus Sprout) can cause pulmonary haemorrhage :(
I wish I could rip out the carpets and the wardrobes :(

H007 · 29/09/2011 16:26

Well I've had a productive day today for once! Everything is bought for the hospital bag :-) including things like hairbands (hair's down to ass at the moment must add a trip to hairdressers to my list) all I have to do now is organise and pack bought two horrid primark nighties with buttons for £4.50 and then treated myself to some M&S pj's for afterwards :-) but going to have to wash them all as shop smell is making me feel sick! All of this was done in the morning meaning I haven't had to step outside this afternoon and have done a load of washing and ironing plus a bit of a Hoover... So pleased as this is the most I've managed for ages! Had MW earlier and bean is head down still she hasn't move for months and everything else is fine with her bp still really low.

H007 · 29/09/2011 16:30

Oh yes and does anyone have any ideas of where I could take OH on a date? We made a pact that we would take turns on taking each other out for a date on the run up to bean's arrival. It's my turn, but don't want to spend too much given everything we've bought recently.

Tjuice · 29/09/2011 16:39

yeah, cali, I would get your landlord to check it out.
It may not be the bad stuff, but all the recent flooding in basements here in cph meant that some dodgy mould/fungus has been growing that is not good to inhale.
I actually bring back a UK brand of mould and mildew remover (green spray bottle) for my bathroom here. But best get your OH to spray those kind of chemicals, not you.

More disrupted sleep plus insomnia meant I was ordering sleep books and a gro-clock on amazon at 4am last night. I am so knackered at work. But its kind of pointless to continue with a regime right now because we are about to get DD's room painted and decorated, then my mum is coming the following weekend while we go off on our "babymoon". So the regime starts after that.

Folicacid · 29/09/2011 16:44

Cali that sounds dangerous, get on the blower to the landlord, he has a responsibility to provide a safe environment.

H007 phew, knackered just reading about your day! and a bit panicked too. I'm nowhere near organised.

Moosey Horrendous. They must have been mortified too. Eeek.

I'm home from MW. Baby head down (makes me hope that placenta has moved) and all good with BP, heartbeat, pee etc.

Countdown to mat leave next week. Spending first day being waxed from ankle to fanny. Haven't seen down there for quite some time...

voodoomunkee · 29/09/2011 17:02

I. Am. Officially. Boiling. Home from work and just think I need to strip off and lie in a cold shower or something. Very dehydrated and although managed to get some work activities booked for October my brain is officially mush. Urgh. Congrats on productivity and hospital bag and those that have actually achieved today. If I was wearing a hat I'd take it off to you! I'll be lucky to manage to throw some dinner for the troops in the oven and collapse on the bed. Need to work up some energy. Probably not going to be until tomorrow though. Am fluctuating between sleep that would rival a coma and being awake half the night. Gahhh am right misery!

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 29/09/2011 17:20

Popping in to book mark.

I am not sleeping at night due to heat. I am missing the lie ins and afternoon naps of my first pregnancy (not a chance with DD around).

I have thoughts on sleeping babies/toddlers - will post later.

I have a week from hell next week re work but then I am working from home until i finish on the 3 November!! eek.

I have terrible wind (TMI sorry) and back ache but apart from that....

Oh and given the weather is a cheap date a picnic on Saturday with a bottle of wine in the park? Assuming you have no other kids (can't remember who asked).
I am skivving tomorrow afternoon and taking DD to the zoo. We have annual membership, so it's great to go there for a mooch.

Staceroo · 29/09/2011 17:28

Cali my husband is an expert on mould and condensation. SO I know a bit. Best thing to do is to make sure the room is well ventilated. If you have trickle vents on your windows make sure they're open, or if not keep your windows on the latch (esp whilst the weather is warm!) Also if you're drying washing indoors that won't help, make sure you have windows open when you have wet washing around. If that doesn't help, you will need to get your landlord in and he should get someone in to look at it - this is what my dh does as he then sells the ventilation systems to fix it! - don't worry I'm not selling you one, but your land lord defo has a legal duty to fix it!

H007 I think I have the same horrible nighties from Primark!

Off to yoga now... can't wait...makes me so chilled out!

Have a nice evening in the sunshine all xx

Caliphora · 29/09/2011 17:48

Stace We've kept the place well ventilated since we came here - we cleaned down the areas with disinfectant and keep the windows open (unfortunately we live on a major road, so we get petrol fumes instead :(), but the mould keeps coming back. We've also bought the cheap dehumidifiers to put in the windowsill (double glazing throughout), and it filled up within a week! The house is a millworker's cottage from the 1850's so it's obviously not on a damp course.
DP has said he'll email the landlord so I don't have to...

Mrs Arch - That's a great idea!

CazandBelle · 29/09/2011 18:06

Hello, everything ticking along here. 12 days to go.

Felt really off yesterday, just not myself, a bit sick and was starting to have more painful BH again. Today I've been to hospital again and Xander is now 3/5s engaged today. Wonder if him settling further down was why I was feeling so off yesterday?.. Hospital was of opinion today I have the potential to go into labour on my own before induction day, but would like me to try and hang on another week!!

Which I think I will, nothing feels imminent I don't think - just an ongoing uncomfortableness that never goes away, I would be surprised if i have him before induction! text DH the hospitals opinion in the vane hope it will make him feel like the baby's room is at all urgent. The house is a tip, and nothing is getting done. Its like there was a push on Saturday and now everything has stopped. I can't do the bits that need doing, and I can't do any of the smaller bits until the bigger bits have been done. So frustrated.

In other news, lots of downward pressure and downward shooting pains that feel like they are going through my cervix into my foo whenever I'm stood up or walking, and braxton hicks are as constant as ever of varying strengths!

I'm sure this isn't quite normal for 34 weeks, but I've never been this pregnant before so maybe it is!

SnoozleDoozle · 29/09/2011 18:07

I'm another who doesn't actually mind my bump being touched. Which is strange, because I am otherwise a 'don't touch me!' type of person. Although having said that, I love massages, but it must be because I can see it as a business transaction. How repressed am I?! I feel comfortable paying a virtual stranger to rub me all over, but totally tense up if a friend tries to hug me. I'm sure there is something not right there!

alicat10 · 29/09/2011 18:22

Caz I don't think there is a normal but sounds like you're bony building up to something. My body has never shown any inclination to go into labour which certainly ain't normal. I do remember being at a party with a friend who was 35 weeks and having regular contractions she couldn't speak through but didn't have her daughter til 4 weeks later after a million and 1 false starts.

I had another awful night - went to bed at 10:30 and still awake at 1:30 due to my itchy problem so got up and sat in 4 inches of cold water for 40 mins which did help. Medication seems to be taking effect so hopefully tonight will be better as I have hit a wall with tiredness.

Cali that sounds dreadful - I remember bleaching mould off walls in my student days.

TwoJackRussellsandabean · 29/09/2011 18:25

Caz,

try not to worry, I bet the pains are the weight of your boy on your cervix, hence why the hospital thinks you might go before your induction date. As far as the house goes, baby probably wont be in his own room for months yet, so you have ages to worry about things and the house will be in mayhem once he comes anyway :) That said I have things I've been wanting DH to do that I physically can't do which I nag him about during the week and then forget about on the weekend- doh!!!!

Not done all that much today, daytime tv really is terrible, but my shoulder is feeling much better, might go back to work for my last week next week, just to feel less guilty, but shall see what the doc says. Dogs are loving me being at home though, spending lots of time on the sofa all three of us...

cep · 29/09/2011 18:37

i've had one person touch the bump but was a sudden move towards me which was kinda weird, but i don't really mind. maybe cause i haven't had it to often.

caz sorry you were feeling odd yesterday i hope you're better tomorrow. i hope he stays where he is.

cali get what fresh air you can at the moment, while the weather is so nice.

mrsa enjoy the zoo tomorrow.

h007 glad you got your hosp bag sorted, i've got some of it but not all. i need to get it sorted before i go away on the 8th.

had my growth scan today, baby's fine, 4lb 10 at the moment, i have the consultant tomorrow and he'll judge as to whether everything is ok. The nurse seemed happy that i'd put on just under 7kg but again it's the consultant that needs to be happy with it.

last few days now, at work late tomorrow due to consultant, normal day tuesday and finish approx 11:30 on wednesday sooo can't wait.

hello to everyone else hope you're all ok.

cookie9 · 29/09/2011 18:38

Caz for what it is worth I get shooting pains doing down from the cervix and think it is just the baby head butting me! Hoping Xander hangs in there for the induction date and your dh gets everything you need finished off.

Cali the mould doesn't sound good. If using chemicals yourself get your dh to spray them just in case.

Fingers are like sausages and heat not helping. Physio went well apart from cramp at the end. Off for some water and a lie down

cep · 29/09/2011 19:02

oops also meant to say good luck for the 5am start tomorrow chip

cookie rest and put your feet up.

voodoomunkee · 29/09/2011 19:25

OWWWW, took a trip to go collect my dd's book she had pre-ordered. I now deeply regret it, the heat and my tiredness = one very uncomfortable and irritable voodoo!

Caz I feel much like you described. Feel like the baby is constantly pressing down and I have loads of pressure in what I assume is pelvis and the surrounding areas (sorry tmi and its about to get worse!) followed by mucousy stuff at erm visits to the loo. Sorry ladies, if I wasnt feeling so hacked off with being uncomfortable I am sure I wouldnt be sharing this! I dont really remember what is 'normal' for me at this stage in pregnancy. Bump is rock hard and has moved right down over the last week. I wouldnt mind going early but think it would be better to hang on to at least 37 weeks! Am 34 + 2 now.

Cali, you really can't let the annoying landlord stop you from sorting out the mould - unpleasent as it maybe!

juststarting · 29/09/2011 21:38

The mould might be fine. But I would get it sorted in case its not.
Ugh, complete lack of motivation from everyone in work today. Looooooong day. And DS is a complete snot ball poor baby. Which of course means that by the weekend we will also be full of cold.
Also not sleeping here. And also not really minding the bump being touched. I dont really have many personal boundaries though. But also, I dont think I have ever had anyone who isnt my mum (and somehow the manner in which she does it is insanely irritating) or my partner touch it without asking. But I have also grown up with people touching my hair all the time, often without asking. Kind of got used to that.
Well, hope the babies all stay put until appropriate and we all get SOME comfort in a day. Gonna be mega hot again tomorrow.

Merlioness · 30/09/2011 01:32

H007 I hope I can be this organised at some point soon!

I?m glad to read about all the good MW appointments with good babies being head down

alicat hope you manage better sleep soon!

TwoJack glad that your shoulder is better. I?d see how you feel over the weekend and decide on Sunday

just people randomly touch your hair?! Why?
I hope that you manage to avoid the cold, or at least minimal feeling crappy.

caz Don?t worry about the house. Xander won?t mind and he doesn?t need it all ready. As long as there is somewhere for him to sleep, get changed and you can play with him, I?d think he?ll be fine.
I?ve been counting down the days with you. Not long to go now.

I have previously had the shooting pains down legs and usually readjusting position to motivate baby to move helps. Could you try that? Like lie on the opposite side?

Really bad night here after nightmare followed by nightmare. Urgh! But almost the weekend and DH will be in work tomorrow morning, so I can have a guilt free lie in.

chip thinking of you and your appointment today. Hope all goes well and that Sylvie-Rose is ready to go home to be with her family. I am really excited for you.

Hope you are all having a good night and a better Friday.

cookie9 · 30/09/2011 04:06

Just too hot!

Anyone else not sleeping?

Merlioness · 30/09/2011 04:31

Mee, but not due to heat :(
