Had no idea what to call it, sorry. Just googled third trimester and that was the recommendation...

Very exciting darcies!

oimissus it's president brie (prepacked not deli counter), I got it in morrisons but I think most decent supermarkets sell it. It says on the back "full fat cheese made from pasteurised cows milk". I read somewhere that most Brie is pasteurised, but the ones on the deli counter don't say and it just isn't worth the risk.

We built the crib in our bedroom earlier and the stand for the Moses basket which will go downstairs when she arrives. We just need to build the cot in her bedroom, put the door on and put up stickers, so exciting to be getting organised.

aethelfleda · 17/09/2011 22:22

seven, oi, pleeeease don't kill me, but while the milk in pasteurised brie is indeed pasteurised, they put back the edible mould afterwards to make the white rind, and that's where the listeria can live, so it's still not officially pregnancy safe. But I confessed to nicking a bit of the kids salami last week, so am well and truly in a glasshouse....

sevensevenseven · 17/09/2011 22:24

:(

aethelfleda · 17/09/2011 22:33

I'm so sorry!!! But there are lots of alternatives- if you like chalky underripe brie try cheshire or wensleydale, non-rinded goats cheese is OK too (the stuff without a skin that looks like cream cheese). And Port Salut is similar without being mould ripened...

Thanks for the well wishes from your midwife, seven, I'm a lot less hassled about things now I've got used to the idea.

msbuggywinkle · 18/09/2011 08:24

Is everyone else planning an epic cheeseboard for Christmas? We live five minutes from a.lovely cheese shop that I just haven't bothered to go in while pregnant as it is too tempting! I'm looking forward to my champagne after the birth too, with pate on toast!

Didn't sleep much last night, so taking it easy today. Feel really sorry for poor DD3 with how stressed I have been during this pregnancy. She is going to be the most stressed out baby.

sevensevenseven · 18/09/2011 08:53

I'm looking forward to a big glass of red.

msbuggy I know it isn't ideal, but just remember that you're only human and sometimes you can't help getting stressed. Tbh with what you've had to deal with I'd have lost it ages ago.

fusam · 18/09/2011 09:25

Gosh you lot are chatty! Hope everyone has a better week next week with the aches and pains.

msbuggy hope your insurance covers everything sorry you are having such a tough time.

Am in the middle of winter proofing our house, making thermal curtains and so on. I have a to do list the size of my arm and the whole thing is just stressing me out tbh, just want to crash on the sofa under a blanket.

msbuggywinkle · 18/09/2011 09:34

Thanks seven am going to work harder at making time to relax, DP isn't helping atm as he is soooooo grumpy which is his response to stress. I honestly feel like just not getting up and going into hibernation until DD3 is born.

fusam So many things I need to do as well! We haven't been in this house long and I really need to sort out proper curtains, buy logs for the winter and probably a million other things I haven't thought of...

OiMissus · 18/09/2011 10:08

I have given my dad the clear instruction that if he does not arrive to visit his brand new grandchild with a plate of Roquefort and a spoon then he will not be permitted entry!!
(salami, pepperoni, parma ham, carpaccio... All continue to be staple parts of my diet I'm afraid.)
Ok aethel I've survived thus far without soft cheeses, I can last it out a bit longer. It'll make Christmas all the more special.
I'm hoping to find the energy soon to give the house a really good tidy today...
I had a great night's sleep. Went up at 10, only 2 trips to loo, got up at 8:30!!!!!! I should be fit to fly around with a Hoover, but I'm just not feeling it yet.

sevensevenseven · 18/09/2011 10:40

Good luck oimissus, I managed housework for about an hour but I've crashed now! And is it me or does everything take twice as long when you're pregnant?

OiMissus · 18/09/2011 11:06

At least twice as long!
Just did a bit, now having a hot vimto break before carrying on. Grin

aethelfleda · 18/09/2011 11:16

Yep, a swimmingly exciting cheeseboard is on the menu for me when dD3 appears: our local Sainsburys has a fab stinky cheese section.
So far my fantasy post-birth cheeseboard will be a big pile of crackers/french bread plus: Reblochon, Brie, Chaorce, Bleud'Auverne, Blacksticks Blue, and some pate to accompany.

I have an indecent amount of tinned pate in my cupboard from wen we had a week in France. Yum. Roll on late December!!

I too have a zillion sort-it-out tasks to do (will spend today trying to cut that down to a zillion-minus-one!) yesterday I dyed my old muslins from the DDs two nice shades of blue, hid the stains and they look much smarter! Crazy for burp cloths but I dyed a nice little newborn jacket too.

Hope everyone's aches and pains settle down, and hope your stressful stuff gets better soon msbuggy.

KateM77 · 18/09/2011 11:21

I had a VERY strange dream this morning before I woke up. The baby arrived, but it turned out it was twins and one had been hiding behind the other on the scans. I went into a huge panic because I didn't have anything prepared for two babies, not even names, and wasn't sure how I would cope! Then things got even wierder when it turned out my sister had had the babies for us as some kind of surrogate, my pregnancy had been some kind of phantom thing, and I wasn't sure if I'd be able to take my maternity leave from work!

Do you think my subconscious is telling me to get my arse in gear and actually do something to prepare for DC2's arrival?

BeeMyBaby · 18/09/2011 13:21

Kate The cleaner at work insists on telling me about her DIL who had twins without knowing as the the second was hidden just as you describe - I got very annoyed with her when she suggested the same might happen to me because my bump was so big.

Went to get a leg wax yesterday and lay on my tummy to get the back of them done, then almost passed out (vision became dark and blurred, could not hear properly/just a very loud humming, went sweaty, shaking, dizzy and was almost sick) - basically I didn't realise that would happen if I lay on my front, I know it could happen if I lay on my back though - has this happened to anyone else?

mopsytop · 18/09/2011 13:22

Taking me longer too. Just cleaned bathroom - ow, my back! My lower back is really sore these days and I still have 14 weeks to go :( Physio gave me some exercises but she said she thinks my back is out of whack anyway due to injuring my leg before I got pregnant so it's even worse than it would have been. So she didn't sound too hopeful about her exercises helping that much. Grrreat! Oh well. 14 weeks is not forever! I am drinking delicious low-alcohol cider from waitrose. It tastes just like normal cider - yay! Can fool myself into thinking I am really drinking. Other good fakes are Schneider Weisse alcohol free and Maisels Weisse alcohol free, they are better than Erdinger blue and taste nearly like the real thing so long as you haven't tasted any of the real thing recently, if you see what I mean. Roast chicken for lunch, yumyumyumyumyum! Can't wait!

OiMissus · 18/09/2011 13:34

My best-friend/gym buddy is coming around later today for a good ole catch up, so DH is making butterfly cakes whilst I'm off out to visit Granddad.
(and yes I do know that the cake mix is not allowed because it has raw eggs in, but I HAVE to lick at least one spoon!)
And yes, I have been asked by quite a few people now if I'm sure it's not twins. Yawn!
...but how fab and exciting if it was!

LittleMissFlustered · 18/09/2011 14:30

Twins are not allowed! I have figured out one name, and that is for a girl. I am flumoxed for a boy, and if it is twins I am resigning from the universe and going to sit in a dark room humming to myself.

Had a woozy session yesterday while shopping. Went dizzy and had sme weird and wonderful fizzy sparkles at the edges of my vision for about half an hour. I had wondered if it was a new and interesting aura for my migraines, but no pain has arrived, so I am assuming it was just a pregnancy interlude that has as yet not graced me with it's presence. Will mention it to the midwife dietician when I see her in a few days.

Hope that everyone has a relaxing afternoon. I'm off to make a sandwich as I haven't eaten yet, haven't had any appetite, but the smell out of the slow cooker has woken my tum up and it is demanding to be filled.

figgygal · 18/09/2011 15:13

I keep thinking I'll have twins even though have had 4 scans and only seen one each time. Also had heartbeat measured and there's only 1 in there I know I'm just being irrational but good to know am not the only one.

aethelfleda · 18/09/2011 15:42

I am SO not having twins!!!! Though I did dream last night that DD2 was a newborn baby again and we were watching a circus when an earthquake started so I put her in a shoebox, then into my baby sling and off we went to escape... I blame hormones!!

Off to continue the sloooow clearup of the front room (where we store junk). Need to clear it up to allow me to tackle the real bugbear of The Attic, which needs clearing so that all the baby stuff I've acquired can go up there til it's needed....

sevensevenseven · 18/09/2011 18:06

littlemissflustered I've been having dizzy spells on and off for the last week which are accompanied by breathlessness. I'd mention it to your MW but my GP wasn't at all concerned by mine, he just said it's down to the extra circulation. Not sure about the fizzy sparkles though.

Hope everyone has had a good weekend. I think DS is coming down with a cold so I'll be giving him an early night. DH is at work, I couldn't stomach eating dinner earlier but might treat myself to a naughty Chinese while the x-factor is on.

kri5ty · 18/09/2011 18:56

lmf i have fizzy sparkles when i go dizzy/black out through low bp... it could be that? x

aethelfleda · 18/09/2011 19:19

Fizzy sparkly things in your vision can happen if your blood pressure drops- more common if you've been standing still in a queue, have missed a meal, or are overheated/overdoing it. Mostly seen in early pregnancy and in the middle trimester due to your blood volume getting bigger to supply baby. If you get it again sit down, have a drink of water, if you still see 'em or think you might faint, lie down flat on the floor, and bend your knees to raise your legs up- should stop you from fainting. You'll feel a bit daft but it's better than keeling over!

LittleMissFlustered · 18/09/2011 20:53

I stopped off in the tesco optician and abused their chair for a bit. They were rather nice about it Grin I'll get the midwife dietician to check my BP for me when I see her next. It was an awfully odd feeling, not has it ever before, and this is my third!

Right, I'm off to scavenge a meal out of what the kids have left in the slow cooker. I swear they could eat for six between the two of them!

OiMissus · 18/09/2011 22:24

I normally get fizzy sparkles when I watch Spooks, but I think that's different. Grin
And I still have Downton Abbey to catch up on! More fizzy sparkles to come!

msbuggywinkle · 19/09/2011 07:50

Morning! Feeling spectacularly crap this morning, so I'm planning a day of yoga, crochet and relaxing to chill me out again. Am feeling nervy about being in the house on my own.

I started my hypno stuff last night, while DD1 was going to sleep, did feel great afterwards. I am a bit tired of being pregnant though, not helped by getting to cuddle two tiny babies last week - I want my baby now!
