I think I'm the first to find this out. Am 5 wks pg and an EDD of 10th August, Anyone else wanna join me?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
lunavix · 04/01/2006 13:16

Well I had my scan today, I'm so happy they found a heartbeat! Although I nearly fainted, the yolk sac + baby made me think it was twins and I nearly fell off the bed! Thankfully it's just the one!

I'm a tiny bit disappointed, it's earlier than they think, well not disappointed I'm ecstatic but it's still just so early on. I'm roughly 6+4 today (which gives an edd of 25/8) when I thought I'd be 8 or 9 weeks, so 12 weeks just seems so far away.... I'd do anything for it to be Feb 11th!

pucca · 04/01/2006 13:20

Lunavix..snap, same happened to me, they have put me 10 days back, i have no exact idea of how far i am, i just know that at my scan last Thurs they said i was about 6 weeks so i can't wait for my dating scan to find out exact due date.

When pg with my dd, i was further along than i thought which was fab! horrid to be the other way round lol.

Glad scan went well for you

lunavix · 04/01/2006 13:36

Yes when I was pg with ds I found out at 12 weeks which made it all go sooooo quickly.

At my scan before Christmas, they said I was 6 or 7 weeks, but obviously not! It just seems soooo early still! plus I won't sleep easy till the hurdle of the 12 week mark is up.

trix1 · 04/01/2006 15:24

Hello everyone - Im fed up as I have just realised that I am on a course next Wed when I have another scan booked with the consultant and there is no way I can miss this course. that means that I have to rearrange the scan and my constultant only does Wednesdays so I that will take me to 9+5 days which seems ages away. I am considering paying for a private scan but dont want to waste money unneccessarily!

Nbg · 04/01/2006 16:06

Hi everyone, glad to hear your scans went well.

Lol @ you Lunavix

My midwife came today for my booking in appt. I got a load of free stuff from the bounty pack which is good and a load of leaflets. I have to decide wether to have the Triple T test or not by the time I'm 15 weeks and no later. So not sure on that one. She said that my scan date will come through soon and it will be done 12, 13 weeks at the latest. Have to have all the nasty bloods done then too.

I did find out something good though. Our hospital has opened a "home from home" unit on the hospital grounds so I think thats where I'll be having this LO.

trix1 · 04/01/2006 17:07

Do you have your booking in appt with the midwife at around 7 - 8 weeks? I have not heard from the midwife yet?

Nbg · 04/01/2006 17:36

When I called my Gp's they asked the midwife to call me and when she did she said that they dont see mums till 8 weeks at the earliest. I was 8 weeks yesterday.
She did say that if I had any previous problems in early pg then she would see me earlier or if I had any concerns.

Arabica · 04/01/2006 18:22

Hi, had my scan (at the Homerton) and everything is fine. It's amazing how much the baby has grown in just 3 weeks. It looked like a frog last time, and now it's more like a teddy bear.
I have to go back in 2 weeks for nuchal scan/CVS. I haven't received a booking appt with the midwives yet, but I don't really care about that side of things at the moment, need to know that everything is medically OK first. I'm not even sure I will get to see the midwives much, as I think I will mainly be seeing the consultant due to advanced age/asthma. Apparently he is a lovely African guy with an extremely posh voice. He was the consultant for my 46 year-old friend who just had her baby at the Homerton. She had a good pregnancy so I am hoping to follow in her footsteps!

trix1 · 04/01/2006 18:35

Glad your scan went well today Arabica - I hope you are reassured now. Where is the Homerton is it in London?

Are you starting to show now as you are nearly 10 weeks - that is a milestone in itself.

Nbg · 04/01/2006 18:39

Trix, have been meaning to ask you. Where in the world are you?

Nbg · 04/01/2006 18:39

Great news about the scan Arabica

Strike1 · 04/01/2006 18:48

Hi all, glad all the scans went well. I haven't heard a peep from the hospital about a scan or anything from the midwife about a booking in appointment yet. I'm starting to think I'm dreaming the whole thing, well apart from the sickness and bad wind

Lunavix, that mikes you about the same as me I'm 6+5 today. If they find out my dates are less at the scan, all be nearly on the September thread! Roll on Feb I say!

I went to see Aladin at Richmond Theatre this afternoon with my nieces, it was great, they had such a good time, it made me sooooo excited about being a mummy! Is anyone else a first timer on here?

Have a good evening all.

Arabica · 04/01/2006 18:58

Homerton Hospital is in Hackney, E9--people in my 'hood usually choose between Homerton and UCH. Or get a private midwife and have baby in pool at home

NBG - Im in Solihull, West Midlands no where exciting im afraid.

Nbg · 04/01/2006 21:27

It was just earlier this year someone came out another thread and I'm sure the name was Trix (was probably very similar) but she lived very near me.

It's not you though.

trix1 · 05/01/2006 11:29

Good morning - I have just been for a scan and everything is ok, and instead of being 7+5 I am 8+2 which isnt a great difference but it brings me nearer to the time when I can relax it more.

I booked my booking in scan today as well its for the 2nd Feb when I will be 12+2, my consultant seems very confident that everything is going to be fine this time I just hope and pray he is right.

How are you all this morning? how is the sickness, Ive decided to have the day off as I felt so bad this morning.

Arabica · 05/01/2006 11:42

Great news Trix! What did the baby look like?

trix1 · 05/01/2006 13:08

Arabica - it looked like a blob with a head

Ive just been for a back massage (christmas pressie) and it was just wonderful.

aprilgirl · 05/01/2006 16:36

hi everyine hope evryone is well, had my 1st midwife appointment on wednesday and she was lovely she took my blood and weighed me and gave me a due date of 5 aug, doctor has requested an early scan but im 10 weeks on sat its not going to be that early, morning sickness is kicking in big style and feel ill most mornings but to be honest i'll take anything this pregnany throws at me as long as baba is ok!!!! glad to see some many of us on here!!! xx

Arabica · 05/01/2006 17:35

Hi aprilgirl, you're nearly same due date as me (2 August). I don't have morning sickness, it creeps up on me throughout the day at random moments. Or so I thought until I satisfied my craving for oranges this afternoon. Now I am worried what I have is fruit sickness!

Nbg · 05/01/2006 20:52

Great to hear your scan went well Trix

I was supposed to be at the dentist today having a filling but felt a bit sicky this morning and decided that I really didn't want a dentist rummaging around in my mouth so I cancelled and they told me to come back after I had passed 12 weeks!

Have any of you had an appt and then received your notes in the post from the hospital?
If so how long did that take?

My midwife said they will send mine out with my appt for the dating scan but as I am very impatient it should be here tomorrow

pucca · 05/01/2006 22:35

Nbg...I got my notes and appointment the Thursday before xmas, I have been told i won't see my G.P mw till after my dating scan on 1st Feb, as they will take my bloods etc then.

melsy · 05/01/2006 22:58

Can I be added to the group ? Im 8wks , 9 by Sat and have EDD 12th Aug , if I have my dates written right, although mucked up my days, as was late with AF in Nov. I suppose they can date me properly at 12 wk scan ? Ive been posting under a different name in conception & pg as had a mc Nov 02 around same time things went a bit scary with this pg.

My dd is 2 1/4 if you dont know me around mn. Im a little low at times as have some worries due to past PND/PTSD not sure wether to discuss here or start another thread. Dont want to upset new mummies , but its kinda why Ive come out in my real mn name , as the hormones may be making me extra teary.

Ive felt sick and dizzy & so so so tired almost from day one, but hit 8 wks and boy have I felt rubbish; cooking smells, looking in fridge, food on telly, all sorts are setting me off with sickness. I can just about eat and now getting over a nasty cold virus thing too which rendered me useless this week.

Anyway Im going on and on as usual.

Congrats to everyone else too, cool to see others with similar EDD.

pucca · 05/01/2006 23:11

Melsy....Welcome and congratulations

I know how you feel regarding the queasiness

The PND/PTSD i can slightly relate to, i scored very low on that questionaire they do after having a baby, i also had a fairly traumatic birth which i didn't address at the time (my dd is 2), i just wanted it to go away ( i am quite good at burying things in my head), if you are feeling very concerned it will happen again, maybe discuss with your midwife or G.P, or you can always let it all out on here.
