purpleturtle · 23/12/2005 15:07

LOL at your dd Rubles! Glad it all went well this morning.

lunavix · 23/12/2005 19:53

Hi everyone

Well this morning I had a doctors appointment, he did an internal examination and was v. worried about the pains... so booked me an emergency scan. Had that at 2pm, and it turns out.. I have a yolk sac!!! And the approximate date is '6 weeks' but they won't know till I have a proper dating scan in the future. They did a blood test too (they're worried I have a hidden ectopic as well) and it seems okay and backs up the 6 week theory and I have another scan on the 4th Jan!!! Yipee! So my edd is roughly 18th Aug, pending a proper scan!!!

I'm so chuffed!

Well done rubles, my ds was there (20 months) and his phrase is 'oh no'! But he sat there holding my hand and during the blood tests and internal exams he glared and shouted at people touching me! lol!

Nbg - sorry you didn't win! I've decided if everything is still okay at 10 weeks and we have a heartbeat I'll buy one. Will get maternity clothes in the next sale though, I can always take them back and won't get another chance to get any cheaply.

lunavix · 23/12/2005 20:18

I forgot to say, has anyone else told people? We're thinking of telling dh's family, as we're spending christmas with them and not entirely sure how to explain why I'm not plastered Otherwise we'd normally wait to 12 weeks...

NewBethlehemGirlwithsparkles · 24/12/2005 08:15

Thats great news Luna. Really pleased for you
You haven't got long to wait for your other scan either.

Just to let you know. I went shopping last night and thought I would try some bits of maternity stuff on in Next. It turns out that they son't sell it in store anymore and you have to order it from the catalogue instead !

Had a look in H&M and their stuff was awful really dowdy and for somereason they seem to think that all women are 10ft tall, looking at the length of their trousers!
Topshop is ok, again an issue with the length of trousers but the stuff is quite nice but a bit pricey.

Needless to say I came away with a new handbag

NewBethlehemGirlwithsparkles · 24/12/2005 08:36

Well I may aswell say my goodbyes for christmas.

I've got a busy day ahead and I don't think I'll get back on so....

Happy Christmas everyone

Have a good one!

trix1 · 24/12/2005 09:08

Good Morning all, good news about the scan Lunavix. I am due on the 19th!

This morning, daytime and evening sickness is really getting on my nerves, I have so much to do and all I can do is lie down. I was in work yesterday morning and everyone kept saying to me 'heavy session on the beer last night' how many bottles of wine did you have last night?' because I looked so awful. I just smiled and let them beleive that was the case.

Ive just tried the dry toast theory - really hope it works.

I am really confused now about my scan on Wednesday when I didn't see a heart beat but the consultant said he did! I was five and a half weeks then and it was not an external scan.

Anyway six weeks today yippee - It seems like ages away though until I am 12/13 weeks.

Have a good Christmas everyone

trix1 · 24/12/2005 09:11

www.amazingpregnancy.com/duedate/setdate.php

I like this website because it tells you how far in to your pregnancy you are - I am only 11% right now.

trix1 · 24/12/2005 09:12

oh I dont know how to do links.

NewBethlehemGirlwithsparkles · 24/12/2005 15:33

Here you go Trix

NewBethlehemGirlwithsparkles · 24/12/2005 15:34

or not, lol!

Arabica · 24/12/2005 17:23

Merry Christmas everyone! Glad your scan went well rubles and Lunavix.
I had to buy a bra yesterday because my old one was way too tight. Have gone up a whole size. Managed to squeeze into exercise bra and do a gentle jog in the park. I'm so glad I did--have lost that awful bloated feeling I had yesterday and although my boobs were sore, it was bearable. Had horrible heartburn last night though. Anyone else had this? I had to get up at 4am and find the pregnancy book on the bookshelf to see what the cure was (a glass of milk did the trick).

lunavix · 26/12/2005 18:06

Hey everyone, what sort of symptoms is everyone getting at the moment? I have a very embarrassing one! The huge pains I have... turned out to be constipation!

When I had my scan, the doctor suggested my pain could be possibly constipation, so put me on lactulose and senna. I spent all Christmas Day as sore as hell on the toilet, and now I feel much better

I should have guessed really as I suffered terribly with ds, but I wasn't expecting it this early. Don't think the lactulose is agreeing with me, I threw up all my food that night

I'm terrified of needing maternity clothes soon too lol i'm sure I wasn't in it till about 22 weeks last time but I'm paranoid now. Boobs are definately bigger already, but I haven't put on any weight yet (though conveniently put on nearly a stone just before we conceived

trix good website, will check it again when I have an actual edd

arabica, i don't jog Am thinking of taking up antenatal yoga, but really don't have the time...

nbg - am going to the next sale tomorrow morning in the hope they might have a few bits left!!!!

NewBethlehemGirlwithsparkles · 26/12/2005 20:09

Poor you Luna!

Well at least you know what the pains were now!

Arabica, just out of interest, where do you get your mat bra's from or don't you bother with them?

I have noticed mine getting a bit bigger but not loads.

Did you all have a nice xmas anyway?

Arabica · 26/12/2005 22:38

Oh you poor thing Lunavix. I've had constipation too and yesterday had such terrible wind that I had to sit further away from the Xmas tree in case the leaves started dropping off!
Re bras, I went to M&S where was measured by a 14 year-old sales asst. Had to tell HER how to do it. Bought a pack of 2 M&S maternity bras for £20, as recommended on this very website. Really boring to look at but v comfy. No seams to dig in!
Went for a gentle jog again today, it was brilliant. I was a regular runner up until 5 weeks ago when I sprained my ankle. I'm keeping it v simple and feel much better for it. I will do yoga after 12 weeks but not before, as I haven't done any for over a year (we have a good yoga studio near where I live and that's what the teachers say).
That's me sorted, hope the rest of you are enjoying your boxing day!

purpleturtle · 27/12/2005 12:37

Lunavix - I think I was in maternity clothes by about 14 weeks second time round! There's only 22 months between the first two, so my excuse is that I hadn't got my figure back in between. Mostly because I hadn't tried at all.

I am fairly symptom-free (as usual) just quite tired. Need to try to keep that under wraps though. My SIL had a brain tumour removed 3 weeks ago and was readmitted to hospital with a blood clot on Christmas Day afternoon. Her parents, with whom we are staying, are caring for our 9 week old neice. So all in all, more than enough to worry about without the fact that I'm pregnant a 3rd time, when we have no house to call our own, and dh has no job.

trix1 · 27/12/2005 20:33

Hi everyone - purpleturtle it does sound all on top for you right now, hope your sil is feeling better soon.

I had a complete panic today as I realised that since last night I have been feeling ok no sickness at all so I was feeing my boobs and they did not feel sore/heavy so I was on the phone to the emergency doctors number and the hospital to see if I could get an other scan. The scan units are closed so they suggested I come in tomorrow. But this evening all the sickness and tiredness has returned - am I going mad or what.

Ive been wearing maternity bras for the last week and they feel so comfy even though i felt a bit daft putting one on a just six weeks.

Hope you all had a great xmas and are feeling ok.

Oh and I have just sent my DH out to get me something for constipation too.

pucca · 27/12/2005 22:24

Hi everyone

Hope you all had a fab Christmas? Mine was good, apart from feeling sick as hell! All day sickness has started...BIG TIME and i am feeling lousy! Infact i would rather be sick than feel sick, i have had a couple of very close calls but i am trying my best not to, as once i start i won't stop lol.

I have my 2nd scan on Thurs so i will let you all know how i get on.

xxx

Arabica · 27/12/2005 22:26

Trix, hope your scan reassures you. This is a horrible anxious time, isn't it. When I have symptoms I feel dreadful, because nausea, exhaustion and sore boobs aren't nice; but when I'm feeling OK there is always the nagging doubt that there's a problem. I've got a scan in 8 days though.

rubles · 28/12/2005 10:22

rubles · 28/12/2005 10:44

Oh another thing I noticed, for all of you who are buying maternity clothes, Formes have a 30%-40% off sale on now.

trix1 · 28/12/2005 11:32

Hi Rubles - thanks for doing that, its nice to see who is due when in August.

Arabica is your scan in 8 days your normal dating scan?

Ive been to the doctors this morning and I now have a scan arranged for tomorrow morning. I just cant understand why I was so sick and now I feel fine I really do hope everything is ok. By boobs are still sore though but im not sure if they are as sore as they were, as I suffer from painful boobs anyway. Oh please god let everything be ok and let me just be paranoid.

rubles · 28/12/2005 11:51

Trix1, I understand your concern after your m/c, and I am equally jittery about my symptoms, but I think you are going to be fine from what you have said. The boobs seem to be the surest sign, and I bet you'll be feeling like poo by the end of the day and this will turn out to be just a temporary let-up in sickness. The doctor did say there was 95% chance of it being successful.
I'm glad you have a scan tomorrow though, as it will really put your mind at rest.

What does your dp/dh say?
Mine said in a v.v. upmarket Paris restaurant "Oh for goodness' sake, of course you're pregnant, you just spat your dinner out into your hand" and is generally quire weary of my panic and nervousness. I'm glad he's like that, it would be really unhelpful if he were getting jittery too, one of us needs to keep our feet on the ground.

You said in a previous post that you were taking progesterone and aspirin - do they think they know the cause of your previous m/c then, and will taking these prevent that?

trix1 · 28/12/2005 12:06

Hi Rubles, they never found out what the causes of the previous miscarriages were, the doctor prescribed the asprin and progesterone just as a precaution really. My dh is really supportive and I hate worrying him about this especially if I am being paranoid - he is releived that we can have a scan tomorrow.

I know what you mean about spitting out - ive done it myself a couple of times in the last week, just could not keep what ever it was in my mouth and had to spit it into my hand - sorry if thats making your sickness worse girls. ooops.

Im counting the minutes until tomorrow at 9.00am and I keep saying prayers - please god let this pregnancy be ok.

rubles · 28/12/2005 12:10

Well Pucca's got her repeat scan tomorrow as well, so you two seem to be going in tandem at the moment.
I shall be thinking of you both.

Arabica · 28/12/2005 12:37

Hi everyone! I'm feeling pretty good today. Taking DS to see Jack & the Beanstalk this afternoon. He was so excited yesterday when it started snowing (all melted now unfortunately).
Trix, I am having a scan next Weds when I'll be exactly 10 weeks. It's not a dating scan, it's being done because my m/c was at 9wks 6 days last time.
Formes clothes are lovely, but I don't want to tempt fate by buying anything until I have had my 12 week scan, CVS, and whatever other tests they're going to advise me to have!
