Morning, I glad I'm not the only one getting spots! And I'm only 4wks+6 so I hope they don't get any worse otherwise it's paper bag time!

Hi everyone thanks for thinking about me this morn. Well i had the scan all is where it should be, they could only see the yolk sac so are dating me as 5 weeks (which i thought anyway as i ovulated late and didnt test pos+ till 4 days late for AF)they have put in report no reason for the pain and i have to go back next thurs for a repeat scan. Sac measured 12mm...fetal pole couldnt be seen as too early.

Arabica..i am still feeling a little paranoid, i thought they would be able to get heartbeat today, or at least see the baby.

Pucca, try not to worry, it all sounds encouraging. I'm sure your mind will put at rest with the next scan.

Sorry to hear you're still anxious. I think you have to be at least 6wks for them to detect a heartbeat. At least you know something's definitely there and it looks as it should for a 5 week pregnancy.

I know how you feel though. My 7-week scan was great but all I can think of is making it to 10 wks to get past the time my previous pregnancy miscarried. Then I can start fretting about all the tests I'll need to see whether baby's OK given my great age. Why didn't I do this 10 years ago???

Hello everyone - been for the scan, it went well the consultant said he could see the heart beat although I couldn't I will take his word for it. he said I was 5 1/2 weeks which is right im 5 weeks 4 days. I have to go back in 4 weeks for another scan. He also said as there was a heartbeat the pregnancy had 95% chance of being successful. However I had a heart bat at 7.5 weeks last time and it was not to be.

Pucca glad your scan went well - can you go back soon to see the heart beat?

Trix - fab news about the heartbeat - I take it that it was an internal scan for them to see it so early? Interesting to hear that your doctor said that it pushed the odds up to 95% for a full pregnancy...I wonder how accurate that is.

Pucca - I went through what you have been through with dd - she was 13mm and I had to go back in a weeks time to see if she'd grown/got a heartbeat. It was a very, very long week, but all turned out fine. Was yours external or internal?
It's such an anxious time, these early weeks, but you don't sound like you have anything to be worried about as you still have symptoms, they couldn't see anything wrong on the scan, your pains have gone and you aren't bleeding. I hope you can relax and try to not let it ruin your Christmas.

Rubles - it wasn't an internal scan, he assured me that he could see the heart beat and was trying to point it out to me but I could not see anything! I dont know how big it was he did not mention that. I wonder if he meant that due to the asprin and progesterone I am taking that was why I had 95% chance of a successful pregnancy now. I dont know. Confused.

Oh god i feel even worse now, I was supposed to be 6 + 4, so a week back would make me 5 + 4...and TRIX got a heartbeat (really glad all went well)

Pucca, you've got to remember that the heart at this stage is the size of a poppy seed so it's so so tiny.

Even when I had my 12 week scan with dd the heart was teeny tiny then.

Try not to worry, you haven't had a bleed and the cramps have gone. I'm quite sure they'll pick it up next week.

Pucca dont be alarmed - I did not see the heartbeat myself but the dr said he could definetly see it but I dont know!

I did get a picture - of a black hole there was nothing there!!!

You'll be looking back at that picture in August Trix, amazed that the little bundle in your arms was in that picture!

Would just like to stop in and say hi, I've had a bfp No idea about dates (I could be a week gone for all I know ) but I'll let you know when I've had a dating scan. I'm worried it's a m/c due to a lot of pain.. but like I said, hopefully I'll be here for the long run. Also have a ds of 20 months.

Congratulations Lunavix! Let us know more when you do. Maybe you'll be towards the end of August like me. I think I'm the last EDD at the moment on the 26th.

Add me to the list. Found out last week, when I finally got round to doing a test. We've been in Australia for 3 months, and although I was late I thought that the flight back might encourage AF to put in an appearance. When she didn't I got a BFP the day after we got back. So I'm assuming that I'm due sometime in August. This will be number 3 for us - Dd will be 5 in april, and ds is 3 next month.

I won't be around a great deal as we're staying with in-laws at the moment and internet access is sporadic (and we haven't told htem yet, so I don't want any snooping over my shoulder!)
