Ghost about falling with a baby in a sling, I was really worried about that too and used to squirm a bit when I saw people with them. But once I had DS I found that the positives outweighed that risk - for me personally. It's strange, I haven't actually thought about it since having one! Confused I think it's just one of those personal preferences.

Also WTR to the iCandy, it's done a lot of miles since we've owned it and the only wear and tear is on the tyres, which of course you'd expect. We've not had to have it repaired at any point and will be using it for DC2 - pretty damn confident that it'll last with no problems Smile
There is just soooo much choice out there, I don't envy you having to choose between them all!

Hippyish is nice though Carlita! and it makes perfect sense. Smile
I don't use reusable nappies, they're just not for me. So no advice there I'm afraid.

Carlitawantsababy · 10/08/2011 18:42

ghost I am house-bound if it snows as slip and fall almost constantly (you know it's a result of hypermobility?) so regardless of sling, pram or buggy baby will be staying home too if it snows (we can play in the garden)Grin it's worth researching the different types of slings, i've decided, after quite a bit of reading, on a ring sling. It sounds like you'll need and all terrain pram/buggy too. Two of my friends use washables and my mum did of course, it is extra washing but they love them. The book ' Baby Green ' gives so many more reasons than I needed (I decided long ago) I'm happy to post it to you if you want to read it? It's a little OTT, I'm not going with edible paints or organic cotton (though would if I was loadedGrin) also happy to ask friends any specific questions.. I have read a lot about the not laying on your back thing, it can put pressure on the major arteries and make you pass out so you're probably better to find an alternative position! Wink on a super duper happy note, I just found out one of my best friends is pregnant! She started TTC the month after us and is also 3rd time lucky! GrinGrinGrin

Bun - lactating already!! blimey - that must have been a surprise!!

I had a look at other local NCT groups and worthing have a sale on the 8th October - I have a car (with a big boot!) so if you fancy it we could drive over and check it out?

I'm so excited to find someone with an iCandy! I am smitten with the Apple, but am umming and erring as some of the other systems they do are lighter... plus they have a new one ("the strawberry") coming out soon which looks promising too... A baby shop in uckfield will have one from 5th-13th September as a preview, so I might geek out and go take a look (you're welcome to come along too if you want)!

The travel system/buggy is the one thing I'm likely to get brand new (or rather, the two sets of grandparents will buy for us brand new - my Dad already offered and DP's mum will definitely want to chip in!). My arthritis means I have quite specific requirements, plus DP is nearly a foot taller than me, so it's been quite hard to find something that ticks all our boxes. If we can find one second hand in really good nick then i'm happy to have it second hand, but I think we'll end up having this as the one big thing we end up getting new. Planning on getting the carrycot and stroller seat and a compatible car seat (although we don't intend to attach the car seat to the frame that often - just for food shopping, that sort of thing, when baby is asleep and we don't want to wake them).

I'd love to just rely on a sling in the early days/months, but i'm likely to have a bad flare up around 6 weeks post birth and it's unlikely i'll be able to manage the extra weight of carrying a baby while i'm flaring... So having a pushchair is going to be crucial in keeping me mobile and not completely isolated at home! I do want to get / use a wrap sling whenever possible though!

(And ghost - you're not alone worrying about falling over with the baby in a sling - I have the exact same fear!)

carlita Hope the nausea isn't too bad!

carlita and ghost We're planning on using washable nappies! One of my best friends used them for a while, then passed hers on to my sister who has used them since my niece got big enough! (born at 30weeks, so too small at first). She's found them to be brilliant - she's going to let me know the name of the brand she likes best (she has a couple of different ones), i'll pop it up on here in case anyone else is interested.

We're keen to avoid buying too much plastic crap and unnecessary stuff - planning on getting as much as we can second hand and doing things in as minimal a way as possible; not a "nursery full of baby things" kind of couple! (although looking at my list of "things we need to get" it doesn't feel terribly minimal atm!)

I don't do pink for girls & blue for boys (going to be fun explaining that to some of my extended family...) so we're hoping to get bright and bold colours and patterned stuff for baby. Not going to be easy I know, as most shops/baby sales are full of pink & blue, and pastel yellow, but I figure if I start looking around 12 weeks (definitely not earlier, oh no, i'd never go round the shops looking at 5 weeks.. definitely not... ahem)... that gives me loads of time to find a small selection of nice sleepsuits etc. I have sisters that knit, crochet and sew so will doubtless get lovely bright things from them for the baby too!

(also as carlita said above - this is just my personal preference - no judgement on others doing things differently!) :)

Gosh - what else - so much to catch up on and I was barely away from the thread!!! Sex of the baby - we are planning on finding out, we haven't decided yet if we're going to share it with anyone else though. Quite like the idea of keeping that to ourselves to be honest...

We had got names picked out, but we're having a wobble about our girls name as it's super popular and the back up we had might be a bit too hippyish for us and a bit of a mouthful... on the other hand, the nickname for it is quite tomboyish and fun, so... gah - don't know! I have an uncommon, but not weird first name and a rather odd surname, whereas DP's first name was super popular when he was at school / still now and his surname is very common. It means he's nearly impossible to find through google and I am the first hit you get.. can't really decide which is better!

BunMyOven · 10/08/2011 21:21

Hi Trope! That NCT sale plan sounds great! Really nice of you to offer to drive too, thank you! Smile

I just had a look at the iCandy Strawberry I WANT ONE it looks really nice! There's also a stockist on Lewes Road called Great Expectations that were lovely and helpful when I bought mine from there (should I have told you there's one so close? Grin)

A wrap sling is what I'm going for this time round too (pretty sure I'll go with the Moby sling) because they're apparently the most comfortable to wear as they distribute the baby's weight really well. I did have the Baba sling, it was nice and easy to use but it did hurt my shoulder and back if I wore it for long periods of time, plus it's got a bloody awful name!

Definately with you on the not having too much 'stuff' front. Our families bought us so much stuff for DS it was unreal! Hopefully that trend was purely PFBGrandchild syndrome has has well and truley passed, as lovely of them as it was Grin
We were thinking all we really need is cot (going with a bedside one), car seat, bedding, clothes, sling and already have the pram. Sorted! ...I wonder what really obvious and essential item I've forgotten.

We have a girl's name decided and each have our own favourite boy's names that we're both too stubborn to give up, so we're at a bit of a stalemate atm!
I just think that it's best to go with your favorite without worrying how popular the name is. With DS (Oliver) his name has been top of the pops for the last 2 years but neither DP nor I have met another Oliver. I think it was about 5,000 Oliver's named last year to make it most popular, so not that many proportionately.
Now I'm dying to know what your names choices are!! Grin

Davinaaddict · 10/08/2011 23:06

Hi ladies - on my phone so forgive the short message. It's really hard to remember who's written what so I'll just refer to subjects & you might need to pick out who I'm answering! Hate not being able to refer back to the posts as I type! Sad

Anyway, here goes!

Sex of baby & names - we're not going to find out & we didn't last time. I liked having an extra surprise to wait for, as I feel that too much is planned in life these days, so I take my surprises whenever I can get them Grin. However I do see the advantage of knowing on advance and I'm a bit of a control freak so it's quite hard not finding out Grin. We haven't any names although last time we had names & it still took us 2 days to name DS1 & not with one that was on the list originally Blush. Think we'll just wait til baba arrives again. Smile

Prams - we bought a Jane travel system last time and loved it. The car seat is one that you can lay flat, although it is quite heavy. And it's a 0+ so DS1 is only just out of it (although he is a short arse like his parents Grin) The pram was designed to fit in sports cars so folds down really small as well Smile. Only trouble is now the brakes knackered, so we'll have to see if we can get that fixed before DC2 comes along. Otherwise we'll need another pram unfortunately.Sad

Nappies - afraid to say we're disposable uses here, which given the rest of our Eco friendliness is quite unusual! (We have a hybrid car, LED tv, energy efficiency monitors etc). But the reason being is that babies keep me busy enough as it is, so if I can keep washing to a minimum I will - lazy me, I know Blush

Laying flat on your back - I definitely found with DS1, that it did bother me (light headed, generally feeling a bit crap) quite a bit towards the end. I also feel a bit like that now but not sure if that's just me being neurotic Grin. It's not supposed to be a problem til 16 weeks I think so another 6.5 weeks to go!

Lactating at 15 weeks - :o (no clue whether that will work or not - no shocked face on my iPhone & no preview button!). I fed DS1 for just over 12 months but luckily didn't start lactating til he was born. Am now praying lots that I don't start early given the whole 'my body allegedly knows what's it's doing' lol! But if any of you other lovely ladies are planning on breast feeding, I highly recommend Boots own slimline breast pads. I stocked up when they were on offer but found they were the best for me as they had a layer of some sort of mesh that stopped them sticking to you (sorry if TMI). I know a lot of people like the Johnsons ones but I really didn't - too bulky, and they did stick. Not good with sore boobies!Grin

I think that's most subjects covered Grin except one - hope the nausea has gone Carlita! Will catch up properly when I'm back on the lapdog Grin. Hope you're all well!

Davinaaddict · 10/08/2011 23:10

Hmm just realised my 'short' message was actually a bit of an essay! Note to self - stop being such a chatterbox! Grin But it's hard not to be so excited & want to talk all the time! Grin

Carlitawantsababy · 11/08/2011 08:00

No nausea today thanks! Smile was only noteworthy because it was the first anyway so I certainly didn't expect sympathy! Grin
A note on iPhone use, I type it in to my 'notes' then copy and paste it in to the app so I can check back on previous posts! Also square brackets around the word shock produce Shock !
trope I think a new travel system sounds like an essential for you too! The iCandy's are gorgeous! Yay re nappies, please let me know what brands your friend recommends, I plan to get them on eBay, there are tons of lots that come up where people have tried them out then decided they are not for them (used once) so bargains to be had (especially as lots of people think that's a bit icky so won't be bidding!) I also don't do blue for boys and pink for girls, I bought lots of bright stripey sleep suits and t shirts, and ones with patterns, DH and I decided there wasn't anything we bought that we wouldn't put a girl in but my mum said we'd feel differently if we found out we were having a girl and she's probably right. What I mean about gender neutral clothes is if it's a girl I will still put her in the bright dungarees I've made but will also want dresses and tights, with a boy I love man cardigans and flat caps and old man type clothes that I wouldn't put a girl in! Grin
I really want to know your name choices too! BTW did you and bun reveal your true identities when you met up?! I like the idea of you calling each other bun and trope! Grin
bun I might get a wrap sling and a ring sling then if I can get bargains, they were the other type I was tempted by! Other essential items / bath seat or baby bath? Nappies (though you could count these as clothes)! Now I want to know your name choices! Oliver is lovely! Smile
davina Grin on the short post! good on you for waiting to find out, I kind of wish I could but am not really known for my patience! Thanks for the tip re the boots pads, I'll keep an rye out for when they're on offer! How many do you get through, say, in a week? I'm glad you're excited and wanting to talk all the time, it's great! This is now my favourite thread (also posting on the little march one and of course keeping in touch with the TTC one but check in here first Grin one more day of work and I'm off to northern Ireland tomorrow (DH homeland) for our nephew's christening on Sunday (we're godparents! Which will be lovely I'm sure, if a little scary - we're so not godly)! 7+6 today! Smile

Morning! Good advice on using the iphone notes Carlita! I've now moved my notes next to mumsnet so it's easier to access Smile Glad the nausea has gone & fx it doesn't return!

Loving the idea of Bun & trope using their mn names as well Grin

I'm the same with the whole baby blue & pink & much prefer bright colours like reds & greens. I like bright blue as well but would also put that on a girl - it was my favourite as a child, but then I always was a bit of a tomboy! We're a family of red heads too so don't really suit pastel colours - shame! Grin

Re: breast pads - I used to change both mine every time I fed and sometimes more in the early days so I would get a good few boxes to start with cos one box might only last 2-3 days. Boots online service is brilliant though so if you don't manage to get out much in the early days, I would use that. And as a bonus you can still collect boots points (although you need to actually go into the store to add them to your card). Btw -I don't work for them, in case you are wondering Grin

Also I'm going to treat myself to a tub of The Sanctuary Mum To Be Body Butter too - it's lush! I was bought one of their gift boxes last time and it is just gorgeous (if a little expensive) - no idea if it did any good, but the only stretch marks I got were those caused by my CS Angry

I agree, this thread is my fav too! As you can probably tell Grin. I might be a little less chatterboxlike when more people in RL know, so at least you other ladies should be able to get a word in Wink

Have a fab weekend in N Ireland!

PiggyMad · 11/08/2011 09:15

So peed off Angry
Wrote a huge message and bloody lost it!
Anyway, the gist was....

Glad nausea has gone carlita. I'm still symptom-free and hoping it stays that way, though the boobs do feel a bit fuller - bring on the D-cups Grin

Has anyone got/have experience of those side-car cots that you can co-sleep with? Really fancy something like that.

Re travel systems, I need something small that will fit into a 3-door corsa - the new type with the squished back. Will the i-candys be the best solution? They do seem expensive - maybe I could get a second-hand one? I also don't think I will want to remove the car seat every time - will it be easier just to keep a car seat in a car and remove the baby?

Def plan on having a sling - will be so much easier with dogs and the rambling we do. Have heard good things about calin bleus and mei tais (not sure if spelling accurate!).

Am reserving judgment on reusable nappies until I've tried them - a friend of mine tried them but did not get on with them at all - they seemed to leak all the time and needed changing more often. Is that what you found davina? Don't have a drier and live in a wet region so the idea of damp nappies hanging around my house fills me with dread! I might borrow a couple and try them out.

Feel like I'm getting very carried away with all the planning etc, but research is good! Makes a change from my PhD research (which I really should be doing....) - baby stuff research is so much more exciting!!

Hope everyone has a good day :)

ghosteditor · 11/08/2011 09:19

gosh this is a busy thread! Not much to add really except to say I'm glad I'll have people to ask when I'm dithering about choosing between things.

Am also glad to hear that the falling with a sling is not just my crazy concern. Carlita - oh no! Playing in the snow is one of the most fun things ever - just not on my way to work when I have to sit in wet clothes for the day! After that morning I made sure I went to work in wellies and waterproof trousers as well as a jacket - and the snow lasted at least a couple of weeks here.

Oh and I'd really love to see that book carlita, it'd be great if you could send it to me. PM maybe? Thanks!

ghosteditor · 11/08/2011 09:24

piggy I hate it when that happens - there seems to be a bit of a MN glitch at the moment!

re co-sleeper beds - I don't know anyone who has used one (hardly know anyone with children) but I have seen some very enthusiastic endorsements of the NCT one. I am a heavy sleeper so would be unlikely to feel safe with the baby in bed, but plan on bf and would love just to be able to slide the little one back into his/her crib without getting up. I do have a stokke sleepi already (sort of impulse ebay purchase as there was one that's very very local) which I'm planning on having in the nursery but it would be great to have something smaller in our bedroom in the meantime. FIL is actually a carpenter so am seriously considering asking him to build one at a standard size (once he's finished our kitchen Grin). He offered to build a cot but they have so many safety requirements and features these days that I thought it would be expensive and difficult to build; a tiny co-sleeper would be much easier I think!

Davinaaddict · 11/08/2011 09:46

PiggyMad - I'm afraid to say I didn't even get that far Blush. Although a friend of mine does use them & we found on the odd time we've babysat, they are a real hassle compared to disposables. Plus I too hate the idea of having them lying around to dry!

I like the idea of a co-sleeper too but we don't have the room down the side of our bed unfortunately Sad. I don't mind co sleeping, as I did fall asleep a few times with DS still in bed with us. BF makes you very sleepy! I found I didn't move a muscle during the night so I don't think we need worry, but DH is TERRIFIED of it, so back to the moses basket for us I think Sad

BunMyOven · 11/08/2011 10:24

Morning! Wow we really can talk ay?! this may get long...

Davina that Jane travel system looks great! I need to stop looking at prams, I'm not getting another but I want them all!

I didn't have any problems laying on my back with DS that I can remember. Although I hadn't heard about it being an issue until recently so no doubt now I've heard of it I'll subconsciously jump on the bandwagon! Grin

I was a little suprised about lactating yes! I didn't with DS until the last few weeks of being pregnant. Odd.
Thanks for the advice about the Boots breast pads too! I'm with you on the Johnsons ones, never understood why everyone raves about them. I used Mothercare ones but will deffinately give these Boots ones a go.

Carlita you've made dungerees? How sweet! I love dungerees on babies Smile I'm with you on the bright colours too. We got so much blue (blue's my favorite colour but it was all blue), with slogans like 'daddy's little boy' really not our cup of tea but I didn't have the heart to tell people. I used to put DS in them, take a picture to send in a thank you card and then change him Blush

Name choices - Isabella Rose for a girl and either Harry or Charlie (though Elliot has never been vetoed) for a boy. It's odd though because last time I was pregnant we couldn't agree on a girl's name and had Oliver's full name decided - this time it's the opposite which obviously means we're having a girl! Grin

Haha no Trope and I went the real names route - She's called Betsy and is a caberet dancer. It's true.

Ring slings were the other type I was tempted by too.
Bath seat is needed yes, nappies might come in handy, thanks Grin

Oh and as Davina said, breast pads changed with every feed and depending on how much/if you leak you might need to change in between too. I certainly did. Agree with stocking up to begin with to gauge how quickly you get through them

piggy do you mean this type of thing? I didn't have one with DS but will be getting one for DC2, they're a great idea Smile

With the iCandy Cherry that I have, you have to take the seat off to fold the frame so it's not very small boot friendly, I don't know if other models are the same though.
It probably is easier to leave the car seat in the car but if the baby's asleep it will probably wake them up taking them out of the seat. It's an awkward one Smile

Hadn't heard about Calin Bleus, Mei Tai's (not sure of the spelling either, they make me want a cocktail though!) look really nice too.

I think it's good to get excited and carried away with planning etc, enjoy it while it lasts because no doubt it'll go too quickly Smile

This is definately my favorite thread too Grin

Davinaaddict · 11/08/2011 11:23

Aw that bed nest looks looooovely! Only thing is, it looks a bit small so might not last very long - the sensible & financial side of me thinks I should just stick to our Moses basket! And also that Buddy Bear Maurice is not the best name for our DC Grin

Love your name choices! We've not even discussed them yet...except for the one above after I showed DH the photo Grin

I do love my Jane pram so very frustrated about the brakes situation Sad. Hoping we can get it fixed rather than buying another one. If not we probably won't go with another travel system, purely because we've already got the car seat now.

Btw (forgive my baby brain if I've missed this Blush) is anyone suffering/does anyone know what SDP/PGP feels like? TMI ALERT - I've been getting this funny pain down around my pubic bone area which I first put down to being a bit full because of slow digestion IYKWIM Blush But now I'm not so sure, as that has cleared up a bit, but I'm still getting the pains Confused. Will have to mention to my MW next time I see her but that's not til 22nd Aug so was just wondering if anyone had any experience? I may well just be fussing about nothing in my own neurotic way though Grin

ghosteditor · 11/08/2011 12:08

Davina if you already have a Moses basket then probably best to stick with it, but I only the other hand have no existing equipment so am in full on dither mode. From comments people have made it looks to me like Moses baskets often only last until 3-4 months while the bednest seems to last until 6-7 months (or longer if they're not rolling over/sitting up etc). It does look really small in the photo though so it's hard to tell.

I don't (yet at least!) have PGP but what you describe sounds exactly like it - definitely mention to the MW. (puts tiniest rant hat on) But don't let the MW tell you it will only go away when the baby is born - there's definitely physio help available and there are exercises you can do to strengthen the muscles in the right places if it doesn't go too far before you get treatment. (end tiny rant).

I'm now getting a lot of comments about how pg I look - my pilates instructor hasn't seen me for a few weeks and said 'WOAH! Look at you!' when I saw her last night - and I wasn't even wearing one of my floaty-look-at-me-I'm-with-child dresses! I'm 18 weeks today so according to common wisdom shouldn't really be showing at all at this stage - I'm blaming it on being a short arse Grin

BunMyOven · 11/08/2011 12:41

Yes, moses baskets are great, especially for the ease of moving them around the house. I had one with ds and the only issue was how quickly he grew out of it (4months). But I can't complain because it was free (a hand me down) and if I hadn't passed it on I'd use it again.
I agree the bednest does look quite small, there are other bedside cots on the market that seem plenty big though, haven't done much research into them yet - very unlike me! I'll be wanting quite a big one because we're in a 2 bed place so will be keeping DC2 in our room until quite late on, in a vain attempt to limit disturbing DS (ha! yeah right)
Buddy Bear Maurice indeed Struggling to pictue a 40 yo Buddy Bear! Grin

I have PGP Davina and it's recently started to flare up. Sounds very similar to what you've described, as of yesterday, with added hip pain/clicking/grinding Sad Will be talking to MW about it on Tuesday. Maybe book and appointment with your GP if it's too uncomfortable to wait until the 22nd? As Ghost said, the sooner it gets picked up on, the more they'll be able to help.

Dress came this morning, looked lovely apart from the slight issue of my boobs needing twice as much space! traipsing round the shops it is Sad (I hate clothes shopping with a passion)

Davinaaddict · 11/08/2011 13:14

Thanks ladies - just looked back through the thread & realise you have discussed this before & I had actually read it so now feeling a bit Blush Baby brain obviously kicked in early this time! Grin

Think we will be sticking with the Moses basket as we're going to have to buy all new furniture for DS1's new bedroom so it seems silly forking out for extra baby stuff that we don't really need. It lasted us about 3-4 months as you said ghost, which actually then should give baby a little time to get used to being in his/her own room before I have to go back to work Sad

I'm a short arse too and quite looking forward to looking pregnant again instead of just fat Smile. That plus I can't wait to get my Baby On Board badge on! Called in at the tube station when I was about 5 weeks to pick one up. I think as well, people take much more notice when they know you're pregnant & not just eating all the pies! Grin

Sorry about your flare ups Bun Sad - hope they go away soon. And sorry about the dress too - I hate clothes shopping too, but don't mind online too much. Hate the sales that are really just gloried jumble sales & the people just get in the way -aaaargh! Rant over! Boobage does become a problem Sad Really hope you manage to find something - have you tried eBay? I found they have some good stuff that's usually not been worn and it's cheap which is always a bonus Smile Although I haven't dared started looking on there yet as I know it will cost me a fortune!

BunMyOven · 11/08/2011 16:34

Haha don't worry Davina there's a lot that we've been gassing about inteligently discussed to have to remember! Grin

I agree with everything you just said about shopping, esp the sales!Smile
Yes, that dress was from eBay - a bargainess £10 for a JoJo Maman Bebe dress with tags still on Sad Ah well, the hunt continues! There's an apparently great maternity wear shop around the corner from me that I'm going to check out. Trope it might be handy for you too, it's Yummy Mummy Maternity on Portland Road. Actually they have a website too for online shopping....here They have fake bumps to try on with the clothes so you can see how they will fit later on in the pregnancy!! Grin

Carlitawantsababy · 11/08/2011 17:56

bloody hell, do you people not have jobs to do? Hi all! Wow that was a lot to catch up on Grin thanks for the advice on breast pads, I'll stock up accordingly!
piggy always copy your post before posting it, mumsnet regularly consumes my posts or decides that now I nit the time for them so I copy each one Si that I can the paste and post again if the worst occurs! Smile I love te look of those side car cots but bought a 1950's bassinet instead as it was too beautiful! I'll have a look at those slings, thanks. Re nappies, my friend who uses them (been 10 months now) lives in NI without a dryer, she uses a clothes horse for them in the nursery, they're not all over the house Wink leakage is due to a poor fit or more likely not putting them on properly. They do need changing more often bit some would say this is a good thing as otherwise the baby spends extended periods with urine drying on their skin (even though the bulk has been sucked into the nappy. The other downside is they are bulky so they often need to wear a size bigger in clothes, I now think disposable wearers bums are tiny! Yes, ghost PM me your address and I'll send it, I found it on a shelf at work, strange as my job has nothing to do with babies! Tell me when you've PM'd me as I only use the app usually. Lovely you're looking so pregnant!
bun, yes, making dungarees in various fabrics, just made some black cord ones with maroon lining - babies don't wear enough black IMO! My mum has strongly advised them too as no elasticated trousers would stay up on me or my sister! (wish I still had that problem!) I know exactly the kind of clothes you mean - "mummy's new man" [puke] I love the names, especially Isabella Rose, beautiful! Do Bravissimo/Pepperberry do any maternity dresses? Or a style that does hug your belly perhaps? They are pricy but my goodness so worth it! I love the sound of the shop with the bumps!
davina sorry you're not feeling so good, hope your midwife can help! I also have a baby on board badge already! I always carry it but have only used it a couple of times when the tube os very busy - strangely I feel like a fraud! Blush I'm another short arse so hope I look pregnant really soon too!
Where is Betsy today? Surely it's too early for her to be at work? Wink

You'll have to see if you put the dress back on eBay Bun & see if you can make £11 from it Wink Those shops with bumps sound awesome though!

No Carlita I'm on holiday this week, so no work to keep me occupied Grin I'll be quieter next week - well at least during the day! I may well need to vent about pregnancy things at night though, cos I'm trying to avoid telling work until I'm 12 weeks. I'm sure it will drive me nuts though!
Those dungarees sound lovely - do you sell them or is it just a hobby?

PiggyMad · 11/08/2011 18:20

Hi carlita I think you should put some pics of these dungarees on your profile - they sound so cute and I want a sneaky peek!!

Also, davina and carlita what is this baby on board sign for the tube? Never heard of it - is it a sticker you put on yourself?!

Carlitawantsababy · 11/08/2011 18:25

piggy my profile? I had no idea I had one?! Where do you want me to put pics? Explain and I shall do it!
Baby on board badges for use with ignorant Londoners who'd otherwise pretend they didn't give up their seat for you in case you were just fat and got offended! I have frequently asked others to move for 8/9 month pregnant women who they are pretending not to see. If you wear the badge they can't ignore you!

I agree Piggy I want to see Carlitas dungarees too!

The Baby On Board is a little round badge (the ones with a safety pin to attach it). You get them for free from London Underground, in the hope that the commuters notice it and are kind enough to offer you a seat. In reality this only happened to me once and it was a couple of young lads which I really didn't expect Blush. It also states 'I've not actually been eating all the pies' Grin

Ooh that sounds a bit rude! Just glad I didn't change dungarees for pants Grin
