You know I love the mn iPhone app but I should check messages before posting as predictive text makes half of them nonsense!! What that was supposed to say is 'aren't they both all in ones?!?' which in my mind makes them the same Wink

DS doesn't do covers or sleeping bags and never has so he's had to be clothed well!!! But I've seen some beautiful ones and when the twins share the cot bed I'll put them in them rather than blankets!

Re pumps I was quite lucky last time and had a really fast let down and sooooo much milk that my little tommy tipper hand pump that was in my steriliser set was more than enough to pump out! Going to see how I go this time around before buying anything else - if it's same as last time I'll be fine but can't help thinking two of them might just drain me dry Grin

Babygro's and sleepsuits are the all in one things with poppers in odd places to confuse new Dad's parents. :o Why can't shops just stick with one name?

The sleeping bags, or growbags as I call them are fantastic. We swaddled DD (a July baby) at night for the first 2-3 months, it helped her settle and made it easier to put her down once she was asleep without disturbing her. Once the weather turned colder we used the growbags. She's a very fidgetty sleeper so we used them for about 2 years, then we found some fleecey ones with legs which she used for about another year until she learnt to cover herself up in the night.

Pumps, I borrowed a manual one from my sister-in-law, my Dad had a serious op when DD was 3mo so I wanted some expressed milk as back up. It was a faff, it hurt, I hated it, and we never used any of it. Mum did try once but DD refused the bottle, and I arrived home just in time.

I've just booked tickets for DH to go and see his favourite band. They rarely tour in the UK and he's never seen them, even though he's liked them for about 20 years.
They're playing on 6th November. LO is due on the 24th October. Confused
I've just told my parents I'll be coming to their house that night.
This baby is having a lot of demands placed on when it can arrive. It can't be early because my in-laws will be in Cambodia, (it was booked before I knew I was pregnant) They get back the day it's due. But it can't be too late or DH might not get to see Throwing Muses.

Hey ladies hope all is well.

Just had my 32 week scan and all is not well in the BB3 household. The placenta has not moved, in fact it is wedged so far down I had to have an internal and is now blocking the passage by 4 cms. Sonographer and consultant are pretty sure it won't move but the registrar says there is still a small possibility - AND to add insult to injury both babies that were lovingly head down ready to pop have turned and are now breach and curled up so much the sonographer couldn't even get to their faces! Sad Angry. There was much deliberation on whether I should have steroids now for the babies lungs in case I don't make it to 34 weeks but in the end they decided that hopefully I will be fine and that come 36 weeks (if I don't see them before) I will be booked in for a CS (so between 12 - 16 September). Placenta is causing them some worry and if I bleed or have any labour pains I need to go in straight away. On the plus side I had a new consultant who was much better and answered all my questions and now I seem to have a focal point to concentrate on but I still feel a bit sad about it all.

Anyway - moan over, suppose I should buck up a bit and just be happy both seem to be growing well and healthy!

What's everyone up to today?

PenguinArmy · 16/08/2011 11:27

oh BB3 at least you know it will be a CS now and you can get your head around it.

I'm off for the repeat blood test...again. Got to take DD though as everyone will be out.

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 16/08/2011 12:19

BB3 sorry to hear you're not getting the birth you planned for, at least you have time to get your head round it and none of it will matter much when you have your beautiful babies!

how is every1 hope all is well.

i gone a bit nuts buying stuff for baby, i have lots of little outfits, hats, snowsuit etc but NO vests, socks or bootees Blush think i'm getting carried away with romance/cuteness of it all lol.

mpops · 16/08/2011 12:37

Aw BB3, sorry to hear things have not been as you were hoping. But, like you say, the babies are doing well and you've got a good consultant to rely on now. Fingers crossed for you!

sassy34264 · 16/08/2011 12:37

sorry to hear that bb3. i know how you feel cos i really dont think im gonna get a vbac either- im just not that lucky.
there was talk of me having steroids witg twin pregnancy at 29/30 weeks cos the babies were so big, but they decided to wait til i was 32. i got to 32, didnt see the same doctor twicw, kept my mouth shut and no-one else mentioned it. went into labour at 35+5 and they decided to give me it. it stings like a bugger. i had 3 areas of pain, contractions, carpal tunnel and steroid butt sting! Grin each one would be more prominent than the other at different times. its supposed to take 24 hours to work so it was a complete waste of time for me as i had them about 1-2 hours later. also bb3 i measured my bump yesterday for the 1st time this pregnancy and im 48cm!!!!!!! god help my stomach when this is over. i didnt get one stretch mark with the twins and not got one this time either........too bad its riddled with them from dd1. ha

PenguinArmy · 16/08/2011 12:41

they the bloods get processed this time, they checked and triple checked all the forms bless her. If I'm still in the area at 34 I'm too ring up for another check and it will just be the injection on Friday.

48cm Shock sorry probably not the best result. I might get them to remeasure me on Friday and see if it's grown.

I am now DD less for a few hours, what to do?

PenguinArmy · 16/08/2011 12:41

result response

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 16/08/2011 12:55

surely not 48cm round?
i measured mine yesterday and i'm 46INCHES Shock

sassy34264 · 16/08/2011 13:11

Blush i mean inches Grin

PenguinArmy · 16/08/2011 13:20

so is that round your tummy then not the fundus height wotsit?

BB3 · 16/08/2011 14:46

Hey ladies - thanks for the support - I know you are right and I am feeling a bit better about it - just not how I envisaged the last few weeks - waiting around for a section then being paranoid about every little twinge or lack of movement that twin 1's placenta has detached!! Anyway I've eaten chocolate and cake and a big lunch so am feeling better on a sugar-filled tummy!!! Sassy I think my worry now is going into labour naturally because it's so dangerous for twin one if it all happens too quickly - the consultant couldn't stress enough how I had to go straight there if my labour started and not wait to see how it progressed which I think worried me a bit! Anyway, all will be fine am sure they will stay warm and comfy until 36 weeks.

I was going to say sassy 48cms is very impressive (I think I was bigger than that before pg!) So far I don't have any just one from DS and a mark where my piercings were but there is still time!!

Penguin fingers crossed it's all sorted, thankfully they were really helpful so should be ok!

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 16/08/2011 14:47

Thank god I was picturing my baby walking out a toddler lol, think I've bn having braxton hicks this afternoon, been sent home from work MW thinks it's more likely to be pelvic pain?! So on the way home to have a nice bath and relax a bit before DS and DH get home :-)

BB3 · 16/08/2011 15:12

Oh edward do relax and enjoy the time to yourself!

BB3 · 16/08/2011 15:13

Although should it have been the case, we could have had a competition for the biggest baby!

sassy34264 · 16/08/2011 15:36

i'll play- im not kidding, if one of you beats me, i'll be very surprised. i had my last scan with twins and they were estimated at 6lbs 6ozs and 7lbs. i had them the next day and the came out at 6lbs 10oz and 7lbs 6oz- so i would say they are near as damned at my hospital. will be interesting to see what they think it is at 36 week scan. i think my only saving grace will be if they are prem- wouldnt want it go be before 38 though, cos had a few problems with twins.

cheekydino · 16/08/2011 15:43

Shame about the placenta BB3, I hope you manage to keep them in until 36 weeks. I have made it to 33 weeks now, and feel absolutely huge. I am seeing the consultant on thurs to finalise my choice for a c section, which will prob be around the same time as yours.

Haven't got anything to measure myself with, but the fact that everyone I see who hasn't seen me for a week or so says omg suggests i am comically large. And noone can believe I've still got 6 weeks left. I haven't bought any newborn baby things, just a few 0-3 and upto 1 month from m and s, and if she is smaller than I expect then she can wear the blue ones we have from ds!

cheekydino · 16/08/2011 15:45

Shd def enter big baby competition - estimated weight at 31 weeks was 4 lb 12!! That should make it about 10 lbs at 39 weeks. I blame my love of cake.

BB3 · 16/08/2011 16:35

Ok let's do the big baby competition - I am not going to win (at least I hope I am not carrying 20lb worth of baby) so can watch from the sidelines!!

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 16/08/2011 17:27

Well DS was 9lb 4 when he was born so if that's anything to go by think I'll be up there with big baby :-)

sassy34264 · 16/08/2011 17:42

my dd1 was 9lbs 12ozs and the twins were 14lbs combined. in the back of my mind somewhere deep within me- i am crapping myself!

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 16/08/2011 17:44

Think sassy wins for now Grin

CheshireDing · 16/08/2011 17:56

Thinking of you BB3. I suppose though at least you know in advance and can prepare yourself for a section, rather than the ladies who end up having emergency sections. So at least it should be a less rushed, calmer affair.

Why does everyone already know their estimated baby weight. I am about 32 weeks and I presume Midwife will measure again tomorrow, should I ask her what she thinks the weight is? How can she tell, surely it's just guessimates?
