I loved avenue Q, saw it in Northampton not so long ago and it was very funny.

I'm going to see the Inbetweeners film tonight. Not been to the cinema in aaaages so hope it is very funny. Love the tv series.

That is, if I can get away from prodding my boobs for long enough. Surely the fact that they are not as bad today as the day before yesterday is entirely insignificant? I also have a stinking cold which is why I'm out of bed at this ridiculous time on a weekend.

rocketleaf · 27/08/2011 10:27

That sounds hilarious medee :o

Ocarina · 27/08/2011 10:57

Well we made it to the gig which was good, but what I'd forgotten to take into account is that the venue is a converted church and a good proportion of the seats are the old pews. It was obviously built in the days when Presbyterians thought going to church should not be a comfortable experience, so they're not the most bottom-friendly seats at the best of times, let alone when 9 months pregnant! The saving graces were being at the end of a row so having plenty of fidget space, having remembered to take a pillow, and it being a festival gig so only an hour and a half. Glad we went though.

Now I just need to motivate myself to get this study finally sorted - I suspect the baby is watching and refusing to put in an appearance until it's done. (As long as s/he's not waiting for TH to sort his we might be OK).

LadyGoneGaga · 27/08/2011 14:16

Are you overdue yet, Occy? Hats off to sitting on an uncomfy seat for any length of time when that pregnant!

Ocarina · 27/08/2011 16:51

Technically yes, just. But I've always worked on the assumption that this baby would be late (so if s/he turned up early it'd've been a bonus) so I'm not climbing the walls quite yet. We'll see how long it takes....

owlbooty · 28/08/2011 13:34

Oi Occers is the baybee the right way up then? Did I miss that?

DammitJanit · 28/08/2011 13:52

Arses. I'm bleeding. Fairly heavily, and accompanied by cramps, so I'm pretty sure it's game over. I'm determined not to let this mc affect me though, holding my boys and thinking of good things.

But my last two mc's were much earlier than this (5.5 and 4.5 weeks) so I'm a bit anxious about whether I'll have to have any intrusive procedures. I don't want to ask anyone to go to any bad places, but if any of you can help let meknow if I willhave to have a d&c or anything, I'd be really grateful.

AlpinePony · 28/08/2011 14:16

janit I'm so sorry. :(

DammitJanit · 28/08/2011 14:40

Thanks pony. I'm veering between feeling very brave and stoical to tears and gloom. Still. It's only happening today, so I suppose I'm bound to feel a bit up and down I suppose.

Ocarina · 28/08/2011 16:18

Janit, you're allowed tears and gloom :(

Owlie the baby is indeed the right way up (unless the little monkey has shifted since I last saw the midwife but I don't think so). So we're on sitting and waiting.

ChoChoSan · 28/08/2011 16:27

Hello DammitJanit so sorry about this, hang on in there, girl...ill message you elsewhere. Chocho x

Orchid12 · 28/08/2011 21:52

Dammit sorry to hear about the bleeding. I can't help with what might happen medical wise, but sending much love nonetheless.

kat2504 · 29/08/2011 07:16

Very sorry Jannit. Hope you are being well looked after.
You shouldn't need any procedures if you are ok with letting nature take its course and it completes itself. If you go to the epu they will tell you if it is complete or not. If you don't want the d&c there is always the pills option. But unless you are at risk of infection it should be ok to wait. How many weeks are yoU? its utter shit though regardless of the procedure.

DammitJanit · 29/08/2011 09:57

Oh kat, I have been thinking of you lots, I am just over 7 weeks, like you. Thank you so much for your advice, that does help, I hate the thought of having to have a d&c. I'm off to the EPU now. The hardest thing is trying not to hope, so that when they tell me the inevitable I'm not crushed. I'm very lucky that I have my boys to hold and I'm focusing on them.

Because we are the same amount of weeks, I've been thinking of you loads and mentally scouring your womb to take away the non stick surface.

Thank you again, I feel a bit more prepared now.

MadameBoo · 29/08/2011 10:54

Darling Janit I am so very sorry.

I've had 2 d&c (12s week and 8ish weeks) and a natural mc at 8 weeks - think being at home and letting it come away naturally was the one I recovered faster from 'headwise'.

How is it today, still the same?

LadyGoneGaga · 29/08/2011 11:32

So sorry, Janit. My mc was at 7 weeks and was natural. But first scan I had after bleeding started showed a heartbeat, after about 3 days of getting progressively heavier everything had gone. Pain wasn't too bad, paracetamol helped. Hospital asked me to go in for a check once I passed what looked like a placenta. They rescanned to confirm. Can't offer any advice on d and c.

Will be thinking of you today.

macaroonie · 29/08/2011 13:25

Oh Damit I am thinking of you...sending much ESH-love.

DammitJanit · 29/08/2011 13:42

Oh, kat, boo and gaga, thank you so much for telling me your experiences. I'm pleased that I probably won't have to have anything, and I'm sorry if it took you to a sad place retelling me.

They couldn't scan today as it's a bank holiday, I have to go back tomorrow. The bleeding has stopped, but it did this with my first mc, so I'm trying so so hard to not hold out hope.

I'm so lucky to have two beautiful boys already, mini me is with his Dad today, but I'm holding miniFC with extra love today.

Ariesgirl · 29/08/2011 23:41

Thinking of you Janit :(. So very sorry xxx

Truffkin · 30/08/2011 09:21

Just wanted to call in to send lots of love to you Janit am so, so sorry and hope you are getting lots of cuddles from your boys

owlbooty · 30/08/2011 10:07

oh janit am so sorry. :( hope all goes as well as it can today. I too had mc at 7 weeks and there was no medical faffing at all, just external ultrasound and they let me go. Am sending unESHly hug your way x

Ocarina · 30/08/2011 11:25

Sending you much love Janit, and hoping that today brings conclusive news.

I saw the midwife yesterday and apparently the baby's in a good position. I opted not to have a sweep (interestingly the midwives didn't seem all that keen - they certainly were clear that they wouldn't put any pressure on me but that it's something the consultants advise). I'll probably go for it next week on the basis that it's a better option than induction so if it might help me avoid that then it's worth a try. Sounds like they'll happily leave an induction date until term + 14, and if I want to argue for leaving it later than that then I may be able to (although obviously they can't make me do it anyway!). I suspect by then I may just want to get on with it all.

Of course I'm hoping all this will be irrelevant and things will happen of their own accord. I did think I might be tempting things by leaving paperwork all over the lounge last night but nope, I just still have the tax return to finish. Such excitement.

Cosmosis · 30/08/2011 13:41

I just thought I'd check in here cos this time a year ago I was 40+9 and thinking Artie was never coming. I was utterly depressed, didn't leave the house most days and spending all my time on all fours attempting (without success) to turn him.

ocarina, I refused an induction at 40+13 and he came at 40+14. Seems like a lifetime ago now.

Janit hope you are doing ok today.

MrBitey · 30/08/2011 14:39

Very sorry janit, have been thinking of you today.

Hello to everyone else especially occy sorry not around much, having a rather nasty time at the moment with ill mother. Too upset to say any more but praying for good news tomorrow if there are any candle lighters out there.

BB is bloody lush though and the only thing getting me through, hate the fucking colic though.

Will resume lurking.

LadyGoneGaga · 30/08/2011 15:04

Sorry to hear your Mother not well, Bitey. Lighting a candle for you xx

Any news from, Janit? Am also thinking of you.
