Oh, terrific news trout! Great relief indeed.

louby86 · 04/07/2011 13:49

Great news Tiredtrout!

Just got through a 2 hour hair appointment without heaving once, that's quite an achievement for me at the minute! Hehe Grin

Millie26 · 04/07/2011 14:54

Bloody hell, have you seen the thread 'I'm so angry!' on the Pregnancy board??

Mumsnetters can be BITCHY...

Puzzletree, I'm so sorry :(

louby86 · 04/07/2011 15:13

Wow Millie just read that thread! Brutal!

Crazybit · 04/07/2011 15:36

Just posting this as not much time, Mums the word website-you can get 40% off using the code summer40. For morning sickness ladies, this may be helpful. Free delivery also, not a great deal left but may be useful for some.

Will go read the rest of the thread now and hopefully have chance to reply.

Maltesers88 · 04/07/2011 15:37

Woah Millie that's harsh! Glad we're all a bit more supportive on thus thread! Smile

phlossie · 04/07/2011 16:17

Hurrah tiredtrout! I bet you're really, really relieved.

Queenfee - a sling library - what a brilliant idea! I know so many people how have bought several until they found one they got on with. I have a Wilkinet, but it's very fiddly with straps round the back and legs would be too dangly for you, I think. I like it because I'm v tall so don't mind the legs!

Aw, going to be carrying a baby in a sling again... it makes the morning sickness worthwhile! And winter's the best time for baby wearing.

I'm loving Special K (the tasteless cereal, not Ketamine!), Extra chewing gum and seasickness bands are helping me at the moment.

InnocentRedhead · 04/07/2011 17:05

Oh puzzletree I am so so sorry, I can offer no words, just hope you get the time you need to heal x (unmumsnetty hugs your way)

tiredtrout That is amazing news, I bet you are so happy, are you going to be closely monitored from this point?

Funny puzzle should say about knowing your own body so well, I just can't shake the feeling something is not right either. I have had an early scan, i think it is still the disbelief that I am Pregnant tbh. My symptoms, albeit less so with the sickness thank god are still there!

Hope everyone is well, Go back to work tomorrow after a week off, and i am doing a 45 hour week, all on my feet, i may have to tell my boss I am pregnant after all. I am busy on my feet all day and with the fatigue I don't know how i will cope!! Well at least they have granted my time for the scan off :)

Hope everyone feels ok as they can.. I'm going to have a look at this PG thread you are on about xx

melliebobs · 04/07/2011 17:23

Where has this afternoon gone?!?!?!?! I had a 3 hour gap between clients so went home to do some paperwork. I woke up 2 hours later curled up on the beanbag and a cold brew on the table. Grrrr. Right back to work!

withoutanet · 04/07/2011 17:35

Hello all - that's me over there napping in the corner seat of the bus...

I got my scan appointment for August 12th and it's listed as a 'US Obstetric nuchal dating scan'. Could anyone give me a quick low-down of what this is and what will happen? (This is all so new to me and we're waiting to tell anyone, so have been very grateful for this thread.) I'm assuming it's a combined dating and nuchal fold scan?? I'm 37 and the scan will be at 12w 4d.

Also, does anyone else have a navel piercing and worry about what will happen with it during your pregnancy?

I'm with phlossie on the cereal - have nearly gone through an entire box of Bran Flakes over the past 24 hours. I swear they must have improved the recipe!

7 weeks exactly

InnocentRedhead · 04/07/2011 17:43

withoutanet My scan letter said the same - I am not sure what the US is, obviously obstetric is the department - like maternity. They deal with the medical side of PG (I THINK).The nuchal part of the scan means they will be checking the nuchal fold at the back of the neck, which is part of the initial tests for Downs Syndrome.
The dating bit means they will accurately date the PG at the growth they see. So you may be 12+4 on the scan, but you may walk out of the scan with a different due date give or take a few days... My friend had her dating scan at what she thought was 12+2 and she walked out 14+1. that is about the limit of my medical knowledge and may not even be right!

I know what you mean with the cereal - i like Special K - well Morrisons own version (cheaper and just as nice) made with Strawberry milkshake instead of milk, mmmmmmmm

7+2

hermionejgranger · 04/07/2011 18:01

so sorry, puzzle, :( hope you can have a quiet evening.

tiredtrout fantastic news for you!

withoutanet I have a navel piercing and have no idea what's going to happen to it. I'm assuming that it will have to come out at some point but haven't really thought about it any more than that!

millie saw the "angry" thread this morning - Shock

hermionejgranger · 04/07/2011 18:03

oooh innocent what a good idea! I'm pigging through a box of cheerios to supplement my mini babybel diet but the strawberry milk sounds like a PLAN!! Grin

louby86 · 04/07/2011 18:03

withoutanet I have a navel piercing too! You can either take it out or if you google it you can get an extra long plastic bar so it doesn't heal up. Personally I'm going to take mine out, I don't think I'll have my stomach on show as much anymore Grin!!!

hermionejgranger · 04/07/2011 18:06

sorry - 7+2 I think

withoutanet · 04/07/2011 18:14

louby like the suggestion of the xtra long plastic bar...but I think it's time for mine to go, too. I can't really imagine I'll be showing off my post-baby belly!

I did find it interesting that my scan letter asked me to 'please remove any belly piercings as they can damage the ultrasound machine' (!!) Seriously?

innocent I believe the 'US' stands for ultrasound.

InnocentRedhead · 04/07/2011 18:21

withoutanet YOU GENIUS!! Rather obvious now IMO! NOt got a belly piercing, but oddly enough, i was going to get one the day i found out i was PG... Quick question though.. I used to have my nipple pierced - will that affect anything to do with BF?

hermione you will love it!!

Read the angry thread... You would think she was in AIBU, she did ask if it was unfair, but she is PG and in a very vulnerable position and people postiong should know that and being gentle whilst giving their own opinions... She may have her own reason as to why she thinks she may need her mum! As everyone posting should know; we all need our mums some time in our lives!

Rollersara · 04/07/2011 18:58

Queenfee, I'm in Oxford so any recommendations welcome!

In other news, suddenly got very blurred vision, a sort of fuzziness like I've been looking at a bright light, anyone else had that?

QueenFee · 04/07/2011 19:24

I'll have a hunt roller and get back to you :)
No idea about the vision sorry

Bf after nipple piercing, it depends on whether there is scar tissue blocking the ducts. However I know a few women with piercings who have had no problems. Also it is perfectly possible to feed off just one side. Sites like kellymom and la leche legue should have some info.

Trout great news!

QueenFee · 04/07/2011 19:28

Ahh hadn't finished stoopid phone!

My news is out the bag as dd anounced it at news sharing time at club! Oh well they all said they had guessed anyway!

I better avoid that thread I hate getting wound up at the mo!

7 +3

QueenFee · 04/07/2011 19:33

There is one in Oxford

Jackpot!

Rollersara · 04/07/2011 19:40

Perfect, thanks queenfee

phlossie · 04/07/2011 19:42

Roller - maybe it's a migrane? I have low blood pressure and have had dizziness with black spots in front of my eyes. See your doctor if you're worried.

Queenfee - any sling libraries in Bristol? Mind you, my cousin has a pretty impressive collection of her own!

rowanbirchpine · 04/07/2011 19:45

Dear all,
thanks for all the welcome messages! have only just checked back as spent the last two days crawling between sofa and toilet unable to keep anything at all down. GP just gave me anti-emetics and thank goodness they work - feel almost human again :)

Rollersara - My sister-in-law had similar eye problems with her pregnancy, can't remember what caused it, but it went away after birth.

Miamama09- love your attitude to work!! I am on the 'vomiting virus' excuse at the mo. My line manager once went on a rant about how woment shouldn't come back to work after babies as their brains have rotted. As you can tell he doesn't like women much. Luckily for me he is moving jobs next month :0

rowanbirchpine · 04/07/2011 19:54

er..also can someone explain how I add my stats - can't find the list that was mentioned....brain is obviously not working properly.
