I have my first mw appt tomorrow - wish me luck!

Rowan - , glad the anti-emetics are working.

Is anyone else feeling guilty about keeping their pregnancy a secret? People keep hinting at when we might have another DC and I keep going 'oh...one day..' but it feels very dishonest.

mrsrvc · 04/07/2011 20:21

Hi there,
I just got pointed over in this direction by Clarins girl and wondered if I could join you all.
I'm due 2nd Feb, so am 9+3 today. All ok so far but experiencing some quite painful cramps which are worrying me. I am tempted to go to the epu tomorrow to get checked over, but don't want to cause a fuss.
This is pregnancy no.5 but would be my 2nd baby to come home if it all goes ok (complicated history).
Hope all is well with you all.
xx

mistressploppy · 04/07/2011 20:39

Hi Mrsrvc, nice to have you on the bus

GO to the epu. If you have history there's no way it'll be seen as fussing. Hope everything's ok

gonerogue · 04/07/2011 20:55

Helllo all

puzzleso sory to hear your news.
Trout that's good about yours. This thread is quite bittersweet isn't it?

mrsrvc welcome to the bus - we are all lovely and will offer Brew and Biscuit and an ear to any moans.

I've been back in work now for a week. It's a nightmare - I left all my work in such a good state - lists written, procedures etc The guys who took over have completely messed it up - I don't know what they've done but it's year end, the auditors are coming in next week and I am really annoyed Grin

Told my boss - had to because I am so unwell at work and had to give her a reason for it really. Glad it's out to be honest.

Right have to go DH just made me the aforementioned Brew

I'll catch up better tomorrow. Mind yourselves ladies. Oh and hello to all the new people too.

BondiBaby · 04/07/2011 22:21

hope74 · 04/07/2011 22:32

Greetins everyone! Just joined mumsnet and wanted to join the Feb 2012 bus. I am due Feb 16th. This is my first and am 35 so a bit nervous and finding it very difficult to keep the secret from my girlfriends and my family. Can't wait for 12 weeks and the first booking appointment/scan to arrive! Still waiting for the midwives to call and schedule.

OddEyes · 04/07/2011 22:48

Evening all!

Welcome to new boarders! Especially hope my date buddy

trout such good newsSmile

Am exhausted. Managed a trip to Legoland with dh and kids before dh has major surgery tomorrow. Was great but too much considering I am going to be coping for a week without himSad, will be sicker than ever tomorrow.
Right, must sleep.

Morning all, out already in the garden with a nice cup of lemon and giniger tea and the dog as gigantisnore is currently hogging the bed and rattling the windows. Had my booking in appointment yesterday and discussed home births which was lovely. My daughter came too. Should be no need for any follow ups after the bleed as it's all slowed down so much.

Hoping all goes well for those having scans today Smile

willitbe · 05/07/2011 06:13

Mrsrvc - congrats on your latest pregnancy, you know me from another board, so happy that things are going well for you so far.

I unfortunately am jumping off the bus, I have been sticking my head in the sand for as long as I could but I am losing this pregnancy. (pregnancy number 14, miscarriage number 11)

My best wishes go to all you lovely ladies and hope you all have beautiful and healthy feburary babies.

So I am signing off
would have been 7+3 yesterday.

Needle · 05/07/2011 06:54

So sorry willitbe, best of luck for the future.

TiredTrout was it you saying that your hospital was St Thomas'? What's their homebirth team like? I'm so glad there's a few ladies considering it; I had such a great experience with mine.

hermionejgranger · 05/07/2011 07:10

sorry to hear your news willitbe :(

PDog · 05/07/2011 08:37

So sorry puzzletree and willitbe.

Glad You had some goods news trout.

Welcome to all the newcomers!

I'm not feeling too bad today, although I seem to be worse on an evening so I guess there is time yet.

Had gp appt yesterday and am booked in to see midwife on 18 july.

Know what you mean about not telling people mistressploppy, it does feel rather dishonest. I do hate it when people ask when you are having another baby though - very rude, especially when it is random people at work Hmm.

Sugarkane · 05/07/2011 09:14

Amazing news Trout, now rest and take it easy

Puzzle so so sorry.

Mrsvc welcome and go to epu it will help put your mind at rest and thats more important than feeling like your making a fuss (which your not).

Im so tired and sickness has started to get worse but not being sick much if that makes sense. Wisdom teeth have started playing up which is normal for me when preg, you would think id have learnt my lesson after dc 1 & 2 and had them removed before ttc but oh well, nothing I can do now my dentist wont touch them.

Sugarkane · 05/07/2011 09:15

Big hugs to Willitbe too, shhhh dont tell anyone

lilyrose123 · 05/07/2011 12:08

herecomesthsun · 05/07/2011 12:09

Very sorry, puzzletree and willitbe.

Am feeling very nauseous -was sick this am - am looking on pos side and hoping it means all well with little one. I actually felt excited that I was feeling sick last week, but now am more just... feeling sick. Also have bad cold from DS Ithink.

CoffeeOne · 05/07/2011 12:23

ladies who are first timers like myself, a word of advice, DO NOT read the 'what's the worst part of giving birth' thread in chat. I am very freaked out right now :/

melliebobs · 05/07/2011 12:26

I might slowly be turning into a ritz cheesie cracker

Right off to work

mistressploppy · 05/07/2011 12:28

YY, Pdog - would they say 'so, you and DH doing much SHAGGING then?' Grin

So sorry, willitbe. I hope there'll be another bus along for you soon that you can settle onto for the whole ride Sad

Boo to all the grotty feeling people. Hopefully there won't be much more of it, then we'll be into the glorious 2nd trimester glowing bit.

Midwife appt this morning was uneventful! Lots of forms, 3 phials of blood and one pot of wee Grin. Need to wait to find out when my scan will be (prob early August). I am having the nuchal fold one and they'll do the blood test for Down's at the same visit. I don't have to see the mw again 'til I'm 16wks. Then there's the 20wk scan, and after that I don't see her again 'til 28wks!

When it's a subsequent baby (and 'straightforward') they keep you at arms length it seems (suits me).

TMI alert!
I still have ridiculously slow digestive transit (apparently this is because of all the progesterone) but the, erm, product is soft, so not to painful. Sorry about TMI. It's not nice to feel so full of sh*t all the time though Grin

mistressploppy · 05/07/2011 12:33

Coffee, I felt sorry for you first-timers when that thread appeared! Just remember that people ALWAYS talk more about difficult births. No-one wants to hear about the un-eventful ones. Mine was fine - hurt a bit, puked a bit, all over in 2hrs. I had stitches afterwards and couldn't believe it when they said I needed them, as I hadn't felt anything like enough pain to warrant them Grin. Didn't feel anything when they did the stitches either.

Be prepared, but don't believe the hype!

Xavielli · 05/07/2011 12:41

I agree with mistressploppy! I've never laboured for more than 5 hours and not had stitches with any of mine. People only tend to share horror stories as when people like me and ploppy talk about labour being ok others (in my experience) get accused of turning it into a competition! Lol silly.

Be aware that it does hurt but also that if it is unbearable there are options for dealing with it!
