Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Oooo melliebobs that sounded like a fun night! I had a similar situation at a party last week where everyone was getting in sumo suits and wrestling with each other, then it came to my turn and I think I pulled out every excuse possible! Roll on 12 weeks, it's getting hard with all these excuses, not to mention the dodgy looks at the bar when you ask them to make your lemon and lime in a glass the same as vodka lemon and lime!

Have a good day everyone!

Rollersara · 03/07/2011 09:59

Any wheelchair spaces on this bus?! am due on 20 Feb and currently underwhelmed by the lack of baby accessories for wheelchair uses amd wondering exactly what I'm taking on!

Xavielli · 03/07/2011 11:19

Ofc there is wheel chair space! I'll fold my buggy up for you as long as you don't mind holding ds2 whilst I do! There must be equipment to make life easier for you with a baby, I wouldn't have the faintest idea where to look though other than google! Welcome aboard!

melliebobs · 03/07/2011 13:29

Just done the 'big shop' was interesting. I don't know what I want to eat for me dinner let alone what to have for tea on Thursday!

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 03/07/2011 13:45

Welcome Rollersara! I think that's us up to double figures for those of us due on the 20th! At least there'll be some shuffling about once we start having dating scans.

Well, girls, my top tip for the day is not to go to see the penguins at the zoo on a hot day if you are suffering from morning sickness. The stench almost finished me off.

Tiredtrout · 03/07/2011 15:02

Had two more heavy bleeds in the night. Not long back from the EPU they've given me fluids and checked me over. Apparently my cervix is still closed so they've said it's a threatened miscarriage I'm to rest and go back to hospital if I have any more sudden heavy bleeds. I've got a scan in the morning so with any luck theres a little bean in there to wave at me while wondering what the fuss is.

littleboxes I hope it's all working out for you very unmumsnetty hug to you

shipsladyg · 03/07/2011 15:42

Hang on in there trout & boxes! Thinking of you.

Feeling rather blergh today. Been awake since 0400 and DD will not entertain the idea of a nap. I think this maybe the last long trip away DH gets to do until about 2031!

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 03/07/2011 15:52

Yes, thinking of you tiredtrout & littleboxes. How stressful.

QueenFee · 03/07/2011 18:32

Roller hi. I would suggest you get a sling! I was in a wheelchair during my pg with ds and had a toddler in tow. Check out www.slingguide.co.uk. changed my life with ds2 so now I want to tell the world about it!

Ds2 was 2 yesterday so jad a busy day. Oh they grow up too quick!

Hope things are ok for those of you with bleeds etc x

QueenFee · 03/07/2011 18:35

Oh also , I told dcs today and they were excited, told them it was a secret but wonder how long that will last!

Rollersara · 03/07/2011 19:42

Hi queenfee, thanks for that. I was looking at slings but wasn't sure if they were ok for the baby's legs if i was seated all the time, good to know it worked for you!

QueenFee · 03/07/2011 20:10

When they are in a traditional sling they are sitting in it so its just like them sitting too. I guess it depends how much space you have either side of you as they grow but in the newborn days they are frog legged in so would def be fine :)
Try and find a sling meet local to you and take a doll and have a try of some!

shipsladyg · 03/07/2011 20:15

Roller - I wouldn't try a bjorn or similar. Legs dangle far to much & prolonged use doesnt promote good hip growth.

I'm not a fan of the cradle slings as I prefer things on both shoulders and everytime I lean forward I was worried about squishing or dropping the baby.

Soft wraps are fab especially for newborns & you can handsfree breastfeed after a spot of practice (or when you get desperate and have to in my experience!). Try a Sabe or a Moby. Loopymumsy on the slings thread is a wise lady & resource of sling knowledge.

puzzletree · 03/07/2011 20:29

Hi all. Very sad to say it but I'm pretty sure I have to leave the bus. Will get a scan to confirm on tuesday morning but have spent the day cramping and bleeding, losing clots and other tissue, and almost fainting in various hospital departments. Finally home and resting up. As you all know I've been feeling that this pregnancy wasn't quite right for a while so it's not a horrendous shock, and I'm glad it's happening sooner rather than later, though it's not an experience I'd wish on anyone. Fingers crossed for anyone else who's having problems, I really hope you get positive outcomes. I'll update on tuesday, and will check back on the thread to see how you're all getting on. x

OddEyes · 03/07/2011 20:46

No! Puzzle! Am sorry. Sad Hope you can take it easy and you are looked after well and please do come back and check in.

OddEyes · 03/07/2011 20:50

Just a quicky from me about back and hip pain. Scared going to turn in SPD. My hips are awfully clicky and have lower back pain. Would understand if I was 35 weekd but.... What do folk recommend? Doc? Physio? Osteopath? Chiropractor?

mistressploppy · 03/07/2011 22:04

Oh Puzzle Sad

I think my bunged-up-ness is a wake up call to eat more healthily. I haven't changed my diet but I do need to eat more fruit and veg and being pregnant seems to mean I can't get away with a crap diet anymore. Have been consciously trying to eat more fruit/veg/fibre for the last two days and feel a bit better, still look really bloated though.

Hi Roller, welcome to the most popular bus in town!

melliebobs · 03/07/2011 22:21

oh puzzletree fingers and all my toes crossed for tuesday

Tiredtrout · 04/07/2011 05:32

So sorry puzzletree

Rollersara · 04/07/2011 07:38

Sorry puzzletree :(

Thanks for the advice re: slings, I will see if I can find somewhere to try some out.

louby86 · 04/07/2011 10:12

So sorry puzzletree, thinking of you x

miamama09 · 04/07/2011 10:32

So sorry to everyone having scary times and waiting for answers! Fingers crossed for you all...

Louby I hope you got things sorted with your boss! I think I will face the same problems where I work, but am adopting the mindframe that nothing else matters but my baby, so screw what work think!

Was at a hen do over the weekend, ended up telling everyone as it was too difficult trying to excuse why I couldn't have one glass of bubbles! friend has put pics on fb, with me looking mega pg, work colleagues already mentioned they've seen them.... eekkk! it's so obvious but I'm still too scared to tell them! Roll on 15th July for scan!

10+3

phlossie · 04/07/2011 11:08

Puzzletree - nightmare. So, so sorry. Funny (peculiar, def not ha ha) that you had a feeling about it, though. It shows how strong our intuition about our bodies are.

I've just had to seriously reorganise my work because I work in a very warm hydro-pool and it's too hot (over 36 degrees), My boss has been amazing (as always) and is shuffling everyone's hours round so I can teach in a cooler pool. I'm gutted because I loved my clients there, but relieved because I was getting worried that baby would boil in the bag.

Nice to have some positive responses about Oz! We're going to wait, though, I think the flight would be a nightmare (I'm 5' 11" for a start) and the jet lag too. Also, my brother's spending Christmas with his fiance for the first, and if I went my parents would be childless, and I can't do it to them!

QueenFee · 04/07/2011 12:39

Puzzle so sorry :(

Odd eyes my spd started at 6 weeks with dc3 and the osteopath sorted it. Not had any twinges yet this pg.

Roller I run a sling library! Whereabouts in uk are you and I will see if I know of one if that helps :)

Got my scan date today :) 27th.

Tiredtrout · 04/07/2011 13:08

I'm just back from hospital and the big news is bean is still there with it's heart beat and was wiggling like a wiggly thing. They said that part of the sac had come away from the lining causing the bleed and it was starting to heal already. We are very relieved Grin
