mistress Hope it's just discharge if not too much fluid and everything has been ok since. Fingers crossed for you.

madeindevon2 · 28/07/2011 12:35

Sry to hear about everyones sickness. I'm ok as long as I eat little and often. Ds been sick this week tho. I've been up 5 or 530 most days and I work full time too. So it's been a tiring week. went to gym last night too as need to keep exercise up but was very hard! Roll on weekend for a lie in! Just 8am even would be lovely!!!!

Hi gang. Today I have been extra naughty and got a spicy chicken and Cous Cous salad from morrisons. Dh told me off cos apparently I shouldn't be havin the pre cooked chicken. My opinion is I've my eaten properly for a month so when I have a desire for something and something relatively healthy I'm gonna bloody have it! Only managed half but it was good!

Unfortunately I'm at work today Sad just had a client cancel so u have a spare 60 mins so having a cheeky doze in the disabled changing cubicle!

Ah they joys of being a lone worker

Oh yerr 10+6! and 6 more sleeps till dating scan

Emz33 · 28/07/2011 18:15

Got my scan date today - 16 august, don't know how I'm going to be able to wait I'm so excited!

Sugar80 · 28/07/2011 18:42

melliebobs, no way is a chicken and cous cous salad even remotely naughty!! I thought you were going to say you had a whole pack of pringles, or 3 magnums or something!! Don't think there's anything wrong with eating pre-cooked chicken, as long you're not trying to re-heat it.

shipsladyg · 28/07/2011 19:08

Woowa - we have five pushchairs for our one DD. DH is cynical - but as two are landrovers (fabulous off roaders - one of which we've nearly worn out) one is a lightweight umbrella fold and one attaches to the back of his bike then i don't think he can really complain especially as I got them all second hand for less than the cost of a brand new bugaboo with all the trimmings.

Saw an Independent Midwife last night. I think we could be employing one as I'm already getting grief from NHS for requesting an HBAC. There is no clinical evidence for CEFM being necessary/improving outcomes for a VBAC and yet they insist upon it - which of course makes labour harder... I don't think I can put up with arguing with them, i mean being assertive, for the next 28wks.

QueenFee · 28/07/2011 20:51

Oh shipslady
I had to argue for what I wanted last time. I went to see the consultant alone at about 28 weeks ended up crying my eyes out as they were really not wanting to do what I wanted. I ended up going back 2 weeks later and dh argued the toss for me but it was stressfull. I do dream of a doula... sadly dh is out of work so its not an option for me.

shipsladyg · 28/07/2011 21:08

Thanks QueenFee. We're only able to consider it coz we had an unexpected windfall plus we've compromised elsewhere. It's a shame that our previous experiences have been such that we feel it is necessary.

I swear you could go into a meeting with a consultant armed with the latest research papers and a hard copy of NICE guidelines and they'd still bat you back with "but it is this Trust's policy to..."

Anyone else suffering with stress incontinence? I'm sure I can't be doing the PFE/Kegels effectively enough as I can't feel me squishing around the front. Bum and fanny, yes. Hmmmm.

QueenFee · 28/07/2011 22:10

I should have said that I went on to have a reallly positive birth experience. I just wish they would take note when i say under no circumstances give me an episiotomy grr they are so conviced they work.

I had stress incontinence till about a week ago I think its relieved now its moved up out my pelvis a bit

woowa · 28/07/2011 22:54

melliebobs, i seem to be letting out little bits of liquid all the time! I was worrying about leaking but since the scan was fine, i think it must be just wee. Nothing like standing up from the loo to find a little dribble running down your leg - where does it keep coming from?! It doesn't happen when not pg...

Pushchair is an Emmaljunga twin cerox - they were a bit naughty and put down that it was the newer model and i'm not up enough on them to spot the diff in the photos. Anyway, it'll do the job, put DD in it to see if she'd fit because it looked really narrow, but it was fine. she thought it was great fun. Only thing is it doesn't fit through front door. This might be normal for a side-by-side twin pram, but still annoying. I wanted an emmaljunga because they are the double only one i know of which has a parent facing pushchair, which has a fully reclinining seat back (rather than tilting bucket). I need a little baby cocoon thing for it, which costs £200 new! So i am going to try to make one, because that is ridiculous!! Nice to have a fun baby project to try out.

Right, today has been manic (marrowchutney making, plus visitors), but i;m hoping to sleep well because a kind friend sent her DH round to put our bedroom curtain pole back up, it's been down for a couple of months and SOlight early in the morning. (my DH is wheelchair user which is why he hasn't fixed, and I CANNOT face DIY at the best of times, which this is not!)

So i'm off to bed (well. already in bed, but lights out)

13+2 (can't get used to this new dating thing...)

wompoopigeon · 28/07/2011 23:08

Sorry to lose 4ever from the thread and best wishes for the future

Anyone else tried shopping for maternity clothes yet? My clothes are sooo uncomfy (yes yes I know it's bloat not bump Blush) so now I'm 13 weeks I've started looking. So far I have trekked round Top Shop, Dorothy Perkins, Next, Jojo Maman Bebe and Mamas and Papas. Oh some posh boutique Islington shop called Pretty Pregnant which tried to flog me jeans for £200+. I'm bloody knackered.

Sod all. Absolutely sod all. It's all gapey tops that show your bra, unlined skirts, under the bump trousers (personal gripe of mine), gypsy things, floaty kaftany things, and lots and lots of cheap thin black jersey. I am reduced to looking at Boden and Isabella Oliver online, then guessing sizes and (I bet) sending it all back. M&S have stopped stocking maternity in any stores even the mahoosive ones like Marble Arch apparently grrrrr.

I remember this from last time, it was a depressing experience! Still, my fault for giving it all away last time while shouting "I am NEVER NEVER NEVER getting pregnant again! Take the lot!" Whoops!

Crazybit · 28/07/2011 23:22

So sorry to those that have left the bus :(

For those that are buying double prams, they have 'Out n about Nipper' Doubles for half price [[http://direct.tesco.com/search/default.aspx?search=nipper here'' which is apparantly a very good buy. Think theres a £10 voucher floating about too.

Right, off to read thread properly

Crazybit · 28/07/2011 23:23

here even

Crazybit · 28/07/2011 23:29

Mistressploppy-I get that often, it could be a version of discharge iyswim, I'm naturally watery anyway Blush

Mellie-What's wrong with precooked chicken?? Don't say that's a new 'not allowed'.

Emz-Same day as mine.

I am (Fingers crossed) feeling a little better this week and have actually managed to clean the house and feed the children, not been on the couch 24/7 feeling miserable, it really felt as though I'd never ever feel human again.

QueenFee · 28/07/2011 23:30

Wompoo I am totally in matty clothes! Ive bought some nice bootcut jeans and black trousers from asda both over the bump :)
I also like new look stuff.

wompoopigeon · 29/07/2011 08:13

Oooh I can't get to an Asda but will def try New Look. Just thought of H&M too.
Hurrah for over the bump comfortable clothes!!

shipsladyg · 29/07/2011 08:30

Asda? Fab. Will give it a go. Tis annoying that maternity clothes are either five times the cost of normal clothes or are made from tissue paper.

Woke up to pink discharge this morning; typical as we decided to tell people last night having hit that magic 12wks. Trying not to panic or stress but failing miserably. DD and i will be having a CBeebies day just in case.

CoffeeOne · 29/07/2011 08:38

4ever - so sorry, take care of yourself x

wompoopigeon - I picked up a couple of bargains in the next sale and I've bought 2 denim maternity skirts off ebay for a couple of quid. I'd check out ebay maternity bundles in your size, you can get some good bargains. Also I've heard some good things about Asda mat clothes so I'll be heading there when I can't fit in my normals anymore.

I'm feeling v sick and v tired, still, and feeling rather guilty about moaning about it all the time. I'm also currently enjoying a cappuccino which I feel guilty about too but I just couldn't face work today without it.

CoffeeOne · 29/07/2011 08:40

shipsladyg - try not to worry. Have you had your scan? If not is it soon? Maybe try and book in with your GP who can refer you to the EPU to get checked out for peace of mind. I'm sure everything is fine.

shipsladyg · 29/07/2011 08:45

CoffeeOne - you are totally allowed to moan (I didn't think you were - sounded like a statement of facts). This baby building business is knackering - especially if you have a job too (including being a mummy to other DC) So have that coffee and enjoy it!!

Scan is on Monday. Just going to try to sit tight and eat lots of chocolate.

CoffeeOne · 29/07/2011 08:48

Thanks :)

Monday will be here in no time and I'm sure miniship will be happily bouncing about and waving at you! If you have worries though don't feel guilty about getting yourself checked out over the weekend. Plenty of rest and chocolate for you!

ITryToBeZenBut · 29/07/2011 09:42

wompoopigeon about to buy some tomorrow and just had an email saying gap have a new maternity range. There is a very nice wrap dress I have my eye on

coffee hope you feel better and a coffee now and then will be fine. Brew

Purpletoes · 29/07/2011 12:21

ships I have fingers crossed for you I also have scan on Monday which I am quietly freaking out about as I had an mc with last pregnancy and I am seeing this 12 week scan as first hurdle completed.

Hope everyone is doing well. I haven't even dared to look at maternity clothes yet although today I can feel a lot of stretching pains in pelvis which I am going to take as a positive sign. Smile
