Im 15 weeks next week & ive booked a private gender scan! :) Excited!

woowa · 25/07/2011 21:07

Also with you on the night waking, utterly sick of it, and also trapped in the early to bed/early wake up thing. Haven't had time to sleep during the day for the last few days and i'm really feeling it. Couldn't even give DD dinner tonight as my brain just wouldn't work out what food she might need. Poor DH did it instead with me sitting there looking blank. SOOO tired! DH got to be up at 5am tomorrow, so even if my body wants to sleep that'll wake me up, and probably DD too!!

my SIL texted earlier saying the tiredness will be gone soon. I hope she's right. We'll all starve if i carry on like this!

Nothing else to report.

11+5 (2 days til scan!! - thanks moofins for the drinking tip, at my 7 week scan i was told to go sit in the coffee shop and have a coffee as bladder wasn't full enough, must drink like a fish ALL wednesday)

babycarmen · 26/07/2011 11:27

Had my 12 week scan yesterday which said i was 12+0 (even though scan on friday said 11+6?) so my official due date is now the 6th feb, not the 7th. big difference, i know! I think baby was sleeping but the heart was beating away so its all good. :)

I will be getting monitored from 32 weeks as my placenta stopped working before and DD had to be induced early, so terrified of that happening again..

Trying to eat, ice lollies and carbs are my diet just now, oh, and fruit, so its not all bad..

Also getting shooting pains in my hips and down my legs when i walk?!?! Its really painful and i dont see midwife for another 5 weeks!

Lovely to read about everyones scans :)

PamBeesly · 26/07/2011 12:23

Hi all, congratulations to all with scans, how lovely.
I'm finding it extremely difficult to cope with the constant exahaustion I don't know how mothers with other DC's can do it, I'm constantly drained and I find it so hard to wake up in the morning. Does anyone else (or everyone) have this too? It been constant for a week now and I just feel like crying (but have no energy) It really has overtaken the nausea as the worst. Any ladies who have been pregnant before do you know if this abates after a while? I'm 9+4
TIA

louby86 · 26/07/2011 12:34

Hello everyone!

Not posted for a while but I've been lurking! Lovely to hear about all the scans! Makes me look forward to mine even more! Getting even more exciting now I'm reading about gender scans being booked too!

Yesterday was my first day back at work after 3 weeks off with HG. Didn't feel too bad yesterday but paying for it today, can't keep any food down at all!

I'm really exhausted too and am in awe of all of you feeling this way and having other DCs to look after!

I've not really felt too emotional watching tv until Sunday and I really can't explain where it came from, me and DH were watching karate kid and when he won at the end, even though I know he wins, I burst out crying! And then tried to compensate by laughing hysterically to try and stop the tears (and out of embarrassment Blush )

Hope the nausea is starting to get better for everyone now we're on our way to the second trimester! Fingers crossed we all start 'glowing' soon!

clarinsgirl · 26/07/2011 12:46

I've added you to the stats madeindevon2

mummymccar · 26/07/2011 15:34

Pam - feeling so tired I have hardly left my bed since last week so you aren't alone!
Still struggling to keep much down, last night had three bites of dinner before baby said 'no'! Also been battling a splitting headache behind my right eye for the last three days. It's constant and is even there when I wake during the night. Having to have curtains shut because light hurts too much. I've always had regular migraines but this 100% isn't one, just doesn't feel the same. Is anyone else having headaches? Not sure whether to go to the GP or not. Booking in appointment and another scan on Monday - can't wait to see my little bean again!
9+5

PamBeesly · 26/07/2011 15:42

thats terrible mummymccar, I guess paracetamol doesn't even touch the pain. I would go to the GP just to double check, especially if its there all the time. It could well just be the extra hormones making the regular migraines worse but its probably better just to get checked out

mummymccar · 26/07/2011 16:15

Nope, paracetemal is actually making me feel a bit weird. Kind of fuzzy or something, can't quite put my finger on it but it doesn't usually do that. I saw a neurologist about my migraines last year because I started to slur and have absence seizures with them but they calmed down a lot this year, these last few days though I've been slurring again so it may be worth me seeing someone. It may be a migraine after all! Thanks for the advice, good to know I'm not totally out of my mind!

PamBeesly · 26/07/2011 16:17

You should se your GP and explain its no harm to get checked out. Good luck!

shipsladyg · 26/07/2011 16:18

It's worth getting checked out mumymccar. One of the questions at the booking in appointment is about headaches so I'm thinking its worth investigating. How's your blood pressure normally? Like the previous poster said, it's hopefully just hormones, but if they can in any way suggest a way to relieve it, its worthchecking out.

mummymccar · 26/07/2011 16:23

Update - just found a website that says that migraines can become a lot worse during first trimester because of hormone changes and can sometimes differ from how I usually have them. I usually see spots as a warning but haven't this time, but website said that instead I may find that I get dizzy, which I definitely did. Looks like it could be a mega migraine then! :-(
Thanks Pam xxx

mummymccar · 26/07/2011 16:26

Ooh sorry didn't see your message ships! BP is usually ok. Just rang dr but they won't speak to me until tomorrow now! I'll ring first thing and see if they can give me an appointment. Thank you! X

wompoopigeon · 26/07/2011 17:00

Hello everyone
mccar hope you get it sorted tomorrow- doesn't sound like fun. I know normal headaches go with the territory, but a mega migraine sounds most unfair.
Pam yes the tiredness should lift, but it is hard to promise exactly when as it differs for everyone.
I had my dating scan today and saw bouncing very active baby. So great to see. I turned to DH and said "I told you I was tired- look what I've been making!". Can't wait to tell DD (3.5 tonight).
I was a bit worried about getting the full bladder thing right- last time I went a bit mad and drank two pints of water and then the sonographer asked me to half empty my bladder WTF! This time I just had 2 normal drinks 1.5 hrs before and that seemed to do the trick.
Also I have invested in a bump bandeau from jojo maman bebe- my god it's comfy, and fantastic for this inbetween stage.

shipsladyg · 26/07/2011 17:18

Heh heh - in between stage. So true. I'm about to start using a rubber band on my jeans button. I was laying on my front playing with DD this afternoon and I could definitely feel a bump. I'm looking forward to and nervous about my scan on Monday in equal measure.

We're seeing an Indie Midwife tomorrow. Our experience with DD wasn't horrific but it could have been so much better so we're exploring the option of having a tame & consistent health care professional especially as we want a HBAC. I think DH might let me have one as I had a full on blub this morning worrying about whether we'd get treated the same this time.

Didn't think that much of Panorama's Maternity report last night. A bit of a "how to spin a five minute article into a half hour" programme.

Good luck mccar. I hope it eases inthe meantime.

Xavielli · 26/07/2011 18:01

Mccar If you are struggling to keep anything down the headaches could be down to dehydration, so worth mentioning to the doctor. Hope it passes quickly!

So good to hear about all the lovely scans! Mine is a week today, getting quite excited now. Love the first glimpse of a baby, always cry like an idiot!

Feeling much less sick but much more tired! The filthy dreams have started so DP was thoroughly jumped on this morning, poor chap!

Xavielli · 26/07/2011 18:02

11 weeks!

melliebobs · 26/07/2011 18:15

Hi gang. My word is anyone else struggling in this heat?! IRS making me exhausted and giving me thumping headaches. I'm actually looking forward to the parts of my day when I get to go work in the gym. Mmmmmm 18° air con!

Been having lots of baby name debates with dh (I know we're getting carried away with ourselves). Sometimes I don't know if he's being genuinely serious or taking the Mick. I mean he seriously likes the name Herod! Can you imagine when it comes to the school Xmas play?! NO! then there the names he comes up with that look like random words he's made up. And then there's the obsession of taking a 'normal' name then spelling it a bit dyslexic. Going to be a long 30 weeks!!!!!

10+4

PamBeesly · 26/07/2011 18:17

Grin at Herod! well at least he has a sense of humour

Xavielli · 26/07/2011 18:32

Herod!! Brilliant!! They are silly sometimes. I really hope this baby is a girl as we already have a name chosen. It was so hard to find a name for DS2 as DP just said 'Connor' ALOT! No matter how many times I said I didn't like it (no offence if anyone has a Connor!!) We finally settled on Finn, which we both now love, I'm not sure there is another compromise out there for us. Lol

QueenFee · 26/07/2011 19:06

Lol at Herod! We have used up all our names we agree on for boys although still love my girls name from last time (Isla Kate) but we necer agree on boys names. Then there is the extra complication of getting names that match the ones we already have (cerys olivia, finlay stewart and Alfie euan) oh well another 30 weeks to argue over it!

Scan in the morning i'm sooooo excited :) just explained to dh the possibility it might be twins backed up by stats lol we shall see.

Tiredness still here. Usually ends about 16 weeks then returns at the end.

QueenFee · 26/07/2011 19:08

Sorry 10 + 4

babycarmen · 26/07/2011 19:42

Just had dinner, put my plate down and it all came straight back up. :(
When will this end!!!!
12+1

Xavielli · 26/07/2011 19:44

Isla is lovely QF! Our name is Aoife. I always loved Seren, but DP surname sounds too much like 'dipity' !

QueenFee · 26/07/2011 20:00

Seren is lovely. Don't hear it much outside wales though!

Baby hope you feel better soon
