woowa · 21/07/2011 21:06

I suppose this thread started when we were only a few weeks pg and so there weren't more miscarriages than would normally be expected in the first 12 weeks, queenfee. In RL we'd never have known whether each other were expecting and possibly not known about the miscarriages. Everyone says they are more common than you think, it's just that we;re bad at sharing that experience. However, i am desperate for that 12 week scan, to make sure, as I know lots of ladies who've had MMC, which must be such a horrible shock at 12 weeks when you're expecting a lovely picture to show everyone. Would like it over with now please. I cry when I watch Marley and Me when she has that scan and there's no baby. Such a tough time.

Hard not to be emotional about babies passing away at the best of times, but when the hormones are going mad and we're carrying babies with us, it's doubly hard.

10+1 andsigning off for the night, so sleepy!

4everhopeful · 22/07/2011 00:18

Maybe a good time for me to very nervously step on board the bus? Have been lurking for a week or 2, bit scared to join as dont want to tempt fate as iv had 4 recurrent missed miscarriages, 3 around 8-9wks, 1 at 13wks.. However my last pregnancy resulted in our gorgeous precious little miracle DD! Grin Grin Turns out my body may have been rejecting my DHs cells in the babies and I had immunotherapy treatment, which we believe is what let me carry my healthy beautiful 9lb 5oz DD to term! Grin She is 14 months now, and here we go again! Confused Im 8w5d, have had my treatment again, and 3scans already, had weekly scans with DD due to obvious anxiety, my EPU are fantastic, so will probably do the same again, as despite DD, the anxiety is still very much there.. I never dared join an ante natal thread with her, and feel a bit wary about even posting now! Confused The last couple posts inspired me too though, but have enjoyed lurking and comparing notes! Smile MS not been full on at all for me, which i obviously worry about it, just waves of nausea, very tired, very hungry and occasionally dizzy... Confused

hermionejgranger · 22/07/2011 07:52

hi 4ever congratulations and welcome! this is a lovely thread with lots of chatty ladies who are really supportive. and funny. :)

BillComptonstrousers · 22/07/2011 07:59

Morning all! I don't want to jinx anything but I think I may be starting to feel slight better...

I actaully ate 3 meals yesterday, and the sickness is startinng to ease, only to be replaced with banging headaches, ah well the joys of pregnancy!

What is everyone up to this weekend? I'm moving house on sunday, so that should be much fun, mother in law is coming up for 4 days then my daugters birthday sleepover. The next few days are going to be a nighTmare, I haven't even bought her any presents as I just cant drag my arse to the shops, and now I've left it too late to order online-idiot!

I got two appointments for scans, one on he 5th and one on the 3rd august, I feel like being a sneaky bastard and going to both Grin I mightnhave to wear a fake moustache for the second one so they don't recognise me!

Morning all

welcome 4ever

Bill good luck with your move!

This weekend I am looking at houses I have never lived in a non-flat/houseshare since uni. I cannot believe I am going to get a HOUSE! Smile I am so habitualised to living in one room that I reckon I'll make one room home, occasionally venturing out into the rest of the house nervously.

Anyone else getting music cravings or just me? Grin Yesterday I just had to listen to the theme from the beach and woken up this morning with a real desire to listen to some wham! I'm hoping it bodes well for my energy levels and it might be a less sicky feeling day.

Had a funny turn on tue on my way to swimming - went one tube stop only and nearly face planted as had a heat wave and my legs buckled and I thought I was going to pass out. Luckily OH was with me and steered me onto a bench. Can't be low bs. I eat carbs every 90 mins! Got my mw appt on tue so will mention it but I guess in victorian times a lady fainting often was a sign of pregnancy so normal.

pinkhollie · 22/07/2011 09:31

Good morning zen have fun house hunting. Sorry about the faintness but the "eating carbs every 90 minutes" made me snort my orange juice out glad it's not just me. I'm having a bowl of porridge at 9 and by 11 I am at the toaster for my midmorning crumpet. Grin

Xavielli · 22/07/2011 09:36

Lol pinkhollie! Roll on the time when the phrase 'mid-morning crumpet' has us all reaching for our men Grin

melliebobs · 22/07/2011 10:21

Yey, lil melliebobs embryo is now officially a fetus!!!

Felt almost human yesterday and had a real pang for Pizza Hut. I think it's their cheese I was wanting. It was goooood, even managed 3 slices and some salad. That's the most i've eaten in days!

Going car shopping this weekend :-s really worried as we can't really afford it, but we've resigned to the fact that a 3 door KA really isn't going to cut it and with DH learning to drive and not being able to get any further in his career because he doesn't drive we're going to need a 2nd car :-s Worrying

10+0

ITryToBeZenBut · 22/07/2011 10:39

mmmmmhhhh crumpet. good idea pinkhollie! Smile

hahahahaha xavielli- that made me laugh!

currybaby · 22/07/2011 10:46

morning all. haven't posted for a while - been lurking though. glad to see a lot of you are coming out of the sicky phase slowly - and welcome to the new posters Smile

i had my 12 week scan and nuchal tests yesterday and it was mixed results. the baby looks fine - was jumping around and waving and we saw its little hands and legs waving around. my blood tests came up with problems though and we were given a 1:9 result for trisomy 18 & 13 (edwards and patau) - which obviously is high enough to be concerned. we opted for a CVS and could luckily have it there and then - we saw the consultant first and she had another good look at the baby and thought everything looked fine. the nasal bone is developed and hands look fine and the fluid on back of neck is normal - in fact the baby looked perfect. so now i've got a one week wait for that phone call to tell us all is ok! we're feeling quite positive about it but its just delaying us telling the world by yet another week.

we still got photos to share and get excited about. its weird having that tiny little niggle still hanging over us though.

i have to say all the staff in the hospital were amazing and we felt very looked after.

i'm going to go shopping for maternity clothes today anyway - i can't wait any longer my jeans are way too uncomfortable and i've been waiting for my scan to do it.

now 11+5 (thought i was 12+3!) and due date now changed to 5 feb - i'll update my stats..

CoffeeOne · 22/07/2011 10:54

mornin!

welcome to the bus 4ever :)

good luck to those of you moving/house hunting this weekend. Sounds way too energetic to me!

The last couple of days have been my worst yet, very sick and exhausted to the point of nearly fainting. I've had a good old moan and my DP is being wonderful and looking after me. I plan to sleep the whole weekend away!

currybaby best wishes for your results, I'm sure all will be fine and how lovely to have your pictures. Have fun shopping!

8+6 - come onnnnnnn 12 weeks!

claricestar · 22/07/2011 10:58

Had my scan this morning. Turns out I am 9+4 not 12+3 as I'd thought. I must have ovulated really late in my cycle. It explains why I didn't get a positive test until 20 days after my period was supposed to arrive.
It all looks fine anyway. Due date is definitely Feb now...it's gone from 31st Jan to 20th Feb.

hermionejgranger · 22/07/2011 15:38

bill no i've not managed it yet but i'm hoping to go in the not too distant future! lots of great reviews so far. good luck with the house move - with any luck you'll be able to sit in a comfy chair and direct others as to where things are supposed to go :)

love the idea of mid morning crumpet and reaching for OH rather than a bucket!

currybaby fingers crossed for the results you want! x

sorry if i've missed anyone - brain is in nap mode!! :)

9+4 (ps claricestar welcome to the extra long 20th feb seat :) )

gonerogue · 22/07/2011 15:38

Hey ladies just a quick post while in work - so no personals but will do those on Sunday.
Have my scan next Friady when I will be 12 weeks - woohoo. Am telling my family at a family 21st tomorrow so glad it's nearly out of the bag. Can't give them any other reason fo rnot drinking. Smile

Still got het constant nausea going on - but iirc that lasted for 15 weeks with DD1 so I have a ways to go yet. One of my weirder symptoms seems to be that I bruise like a peach these days - anyone else?

RIght better go before someone spots me

11 weeks today

melliebobs · 22/07/2011 17:05

Omg pancake day pancakes with sugar and lemon is one of the best and least gut churning thing I've eaten all week

runaroundstartsnow · 22/07/2011 17:10

Hi all got my CVS results and all was good , plus i now know im having a girl another one , it will be my 4th and im so pleased!

melliebobs · 22/07/2011 17:39

Congratulations runaround how exciting to know what your having already and everything is all as it should be

Gobolino · 22/07/2011 19:36

Hi everyone,
Would someone be kind enough to take me off the list as I'm in the early stages of miscarriage.
Thanks,
Gobolino

mistressploppy · 22/07/2011 19:50

I'm so sorry Gobolino Sad

woowa · 22/07/2011 19:51

So sorry gobolino, you're in all our hearts. I'm not sure where the list is - can someone else sort that?

We live in a tied house (comes with DH's job) and he has find a new job by May (end of training job, on to vicar job!), so we will be moving heavily pg or with a tiny baby, a toddler and 2 cats. I'm not sure whether i'd rather move v pregnant or with small baby! Think i'll just stay out of it either way!! My comiserations to others facing moves and new car shopping. Big things always feel bigger when pregnant!

Long walk today with DD on back for half of it, in carrier (how long will i manage that!?), so completely exhausted. Beautiful walk near a reservoir in northern County Durham though, totally isolated, far more sheep than people, hoping it'll make me (and DD) sleep all the way through. Feel more exhausted than normally!

mistressploppy · 22/07/2011 19:53

I have done the stats list Gobolino. So sorry for your loss xx

mistressploppy · 22/07/2011 19:55

Your walk sounds lovely, Woowa. Nice day today. Eek re house move!

Sugar80 · 22/07/2011 20:30

Well, the midwife came round this morning, so that's the booking appointment out the way - fairly uneventful. I feel a bit weird that I still haven't had any tests, or any confirmation that I'm pregnant apart from the test I did a month ago! Sickness has gone, so it's all a bit unreal again.

This week I've been mostly avoiding alcohol at work, and trying not to look incredibly suspect! Had someone's leaving lunch on Wednesday, out for lunch for my birthday yesterday, traditional Friday pub lunch then the work summer party tonight (which I've ducked out of)! Nightmare!! Usually I'm right in the middle of these things so I feel like I'm acting oddly, but no one's said anything yet!
