I'm looking forward to birthday shopping in the January sales :)

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 20/07/2011 19:18

Zen, it involves lying on the sofa while they watch a lot of tellyBlush

Booking visit with midwife today - she has EDD down as 17th, which would make me 9+5 but I'm certain I'm 3 days behind that. I'm sure it'll all change anyway with the scan!

babycarmen · 20/07/2011 19:21

Hi! :) Still light headed and dizzy over here... and so, SO tired. Tried to nap today but felt nauseous as soon as i lay down so got up again :/

Dont know if any of you noticed the gender craving thread on the pregnancy board.. a lot of people saying they craved sweet things with girls and sour/savory with boys. Its quite interesting! I craved sponge cake with DD and craving salt and vinegar crisps and picalilli this time! Time will tell... :) Fun guessing though!

Good luck Zen and have a lovely time in France phlossie :)

hermionejgranger · 20/07/2011 19:42

good luck zen and happy holidays phlossie!

the liquids thing is weird isn't it? for the first time in my life since i was about 12 i did not have a hot drink this morning when i got up. went off tea about a week ago and same with coffee so have been on mint/lemon tea but this morning really couldn't face anything.

mistressploppy · 20/07/2011 19:44

Aww, Needtosleep, thank you for popping in! How lovely! And good point about the heating Grin

runaroundstartsnow · 20/07/2011 20:51

Had my Nuchal and CVS today, baby now due 30th jan and as im having a c-section it will be more like 23rd.So i may jump on the January bus.
Hope everyone starts feeling better soon, i am still waiting to bloom , i doubt it will happen!

mrsrvc · 20/07/2011 20:53

Hey all,
Had a manic few days here. We had a bleed on monday morning and so had an emergency scan. Thankfully all still looked ok, and after two days of spotting and cramping everything has calmed down. I had my nuchal scan today and got a good low risk result. It wouldn't have made any difference anyway (I have a downs cousin, so termination is just not an option) but still, its good to know that I we are low risk. Baby was wriggling about so much that the scan took an hour so I am guessing it will be another boy!
Hope the sickness is subsiding for everyone.

diedandgonetodevon · 20/07/2011 21:06

Sorry I've been a bit absent the last few days. Haven't had much to add really but have still been reading everyone elses posts.

I think the nausea is subsiding a little bit. I'm still being sick a couple of times a day but the feeling nauseous all day has got a lot better over the last day or two. Apart from that nothing much has changed here. Just waiting on my scan now...11 days to go.

Hi Ladies

Sorry for not doing personals, have been reading but not managing to post.

I am feeling utter shit, so sick and tired, and suspected UTI but cant keep abs down. Got some phenergan off GP yesterday and it made me practically pass out, dd1(age 11) woke me up and I nearly went for her. Blush After googling it seems it can make you nasty, I don't remember properly what I did but it was scary to her but she knows it was the medication luckily, so doesn't hate me!. Going to try and take half tonight and not take when on my own with kids. Don't know what's worse, the deliberating sickness or the struggle to walk for 5 mins to get dd2 to nursery before falling asleep on a bench Blush

I long for the day I feel ok again. :(

woowa · 20/07/2011 22:24

oh poor crazybit, that sounds completely rubbish for you. Sorry, don't knwo what phenergan is - is it for MS or UTI?

Did anyone else lie to their MW at booking appointment when asked if you were generally fit and healthy and were you eating properly now pregnant? :)

I've been craving savoury and salty, but I didn't really crave much with DD, and can't remember if i wanted sweet stuff. Will add to the evidence though, if i have a boy. I can't imagine having a boy, now that we have DD! What are boys like?!

Scan a week today, can't bear the wait!!

Rollersara · 21/07/2011 07:10

woowa - me too, used to love sweet stuff before I was pg, now not interested at all! Having said that, have asked DP not to let me go food shopping any more as I just want weird stuff - garlic stuffed olives for breakfast anyone? No? Just me then...

MW appointment next week, can't wait!

babycarmen · 21/07/2011 09:40

woowa i cant imagine having a boy either.. at all! My mum had 2 girls and so i guess i always imagined myself with 2 girls, would love a boy though, really dont mind either way! :)

rollersara give me some! Mm ive been eating loads of olives! Garlic stuffed ones are the best :D

pinkhollie · 21/07/2011 10:06

Morning ladies

As regards to the healthy eating I can't believe how much my diet has changed since wk 6. I used to eat so healthily and now it's carbs carbs and more carbs to get rid of the nausea.

I've not got a scan til Aug 12 when I'll be 13+3 so glad we had a private one at 8 wks or would definitely be going mad with worry by now.

Hi everyone, My scan is booked for 27th July, my booking in appointment with midwife not until 1st August though Hmm So sorry for all of you suffering from sickness, I've been very lucky again I think and have managed to avoid it (I'm 11+3) so hopefully it won't hit now. I'm finding exercise is really helping with energy levels, think I'll keep running, swimming and doing classes until it feels uncomfortable. DS(6) is still super excited and has told everyone at school that Mummy has a baby in her tummy but he won't meet it until after christmas! Interesting comment about sweet v savoury cravings, I want to eat red fruit and crisps so not sure what that means!

clarinsgirl · 21/07/2011 10:46

Woowa - Boys rock! Mine was an angel when he was a baby. It's all gone a bit downhill since then and there's a fair bit of teenage attitude going on now (he's 6!), but he's still really cuddly and loves his Mum!

kayb123 · 21/07/2011 12:41

i also only have DD, back then i craved sweets/chocolate and ice lollies this time cheese and salads, and real food.. cant even look at chocolate so makes me wonder if it a boy this time.

reading all your post seems like most of you have had a booking app already i haven't got mine till monday let alone the 12wk a scan date :(..

Cheese coleslaw. Mmmm.

Just had a male MW for my booking in. Very sweet guy. Still got the blank stonewall face when I mentioned HBAC... I hate hate hate how health professionals do that. i'M NOT THICK - talk to me sensibly with figures; not sweeping generalisations like "increased risk" How much? Compared to what? That's informed choice.

Xavielli · 21/07/2011 17:10

Boys are wonderful! I do need a girl this time to even up the numbers hehe. With the boys I craved savoury things, eggs, crisps, meat!! With DD and this one I'm pretty much eating everything I usually do but feel queasy!

DP told his mum today, her head didn't explode thank god! She was the one we were most worried about telling so that's a relief. Just my kids and his daughters to tell before it becomes common knowledge, which we will do after the scan.

Booking appointment tomorrow morning, hoping it will start to feel real then!

QueenFee · 21/07/2011 17:44

Dd I craved pickles
Ds1 I craved honey on toast
Ds2 I craved salt and vinegar crisps.
This one? Food in general but gone off sweet things so lets see!
Mw rang this afternoon and has changed booking in to sat and shes coming here so much easier than a visit to the clinic with the brood!

shipsladyg · 21/07/2011 18:02

Ohhhhhhh salt and vinegar crisps! Mmm! Yes please. Agh! DH working late so no way of getting them til about bedtime. I wish the co-op did take away style delivery. Feeling in need for them. Mouth watering at the thought!!!

PamBeesly · 21/07/2011 18:28

I told my mother today and she was over the moon! She was crying and kept saying how happy she was, its her first grandchild :) I told her its still early (9 weeks) but I hadn't seen her in a few weeks and wanted to tell her.
pinkhollie I'm the same as you carbs carbs carbs or else I'm sick sick sick, fruit and toast is all I can manage

babycarmen · 21/07/2011 19:30

Feel very.. fragile. Any wrong movements and i feel like im going to spew :/ not been sick though :)
I NEED s+v crisps..but ive eaten them all :(

Surprising some of you havent had mw appointments yet, ive had 2! 8 then 10 weeks. See her again at 16 weeks. And see consultant on Monday with my scan. Im quite excited! So exhausted, cant wait for all my energy to come rushing back and to start glowing next week (ha! we'll see baby books!)

babycarmen · 21/07/2011 19:31

Oh forgot - 11+4

woowa · 21/07/2011 20:14

DH made a gorgeous curry for dinner tonight. JUST what i've been needing! DD (17 months) spent 10 minutes eating pickles from the jars with a spoon while rice was cooking. I'm talking HOT lime pickle, carrot pickle, and her favourite, garlic pickle, out of the jars, with a spoon! When DH mentioned pickles she went and got them all out of the cupboard and put them on the table. She's so funny!! DH was determined she'd like curry and she had her first one at 6 months ish.

Anyway, after all the above chat about food i feel like ordering takeaway pizza, despite dinner! I'll have to root round the cupboards. Someone i haven't seen for a while today remarked on how much weight i'd lost, but my appetite is now back, sadly and i'm munching chocolate and biscuits. Biscuit

Found out today, one of the mums at the toddler group i go to today had her baby at 25 weeks a few weeks ago. Baby is ok, now 30 weeks and growing. What a trauma. I think being pg makes me even more emotional about it. Can you imagine?

6 days til scan...

QueenFee · 21/07/2011 20:47

I think you get much less appointments with subsequent pregnancies. Also I know the mw quite well as I work with then so its quite informal for me
I am much more nervous about this pg than I was with the other 3, I feel very nervous that something is going to go wrong :( A friend of mine baby was born at 32 weeks and he only lived for 2 days :( I think I have also been really affected by the amount of miscarriages on this thread. Sorry talk about emotional
Can't believe i'm 9 + 6!
