Got my 12 week scan this morning, officially due on 31st Jan! Baby kicking and jumping about like a jumping bean! I ended up having to have an internal scan, which was so not the most fun, but lovely to see beany anyway! Down for a c-section, so will also probably be a week earlier.

I've asked to be sterilised during the section too...sob, no more babies for me!

Mellie, its smells that get me too, dh had a shower before me this morning, soon as I went in the bathroom the smell of his soap made me retch...the joys!

lilyrose123 · 19/07/2011 11:53

little monkey i retch when brush teeth, sneeze, cough, yawn, smell food/drinks/perfume/ or anything really its horrid, and like you say a lot of breathing to resume to normal before the next trigger!

phlossie · 19/07/2011 11:57

ONe of the bonuses of being a Water Babies teacher, eh lilyrose. Has anyone noticed your weight-loss and asked how you've done it? What diet are you on?!

I've been a bit better and brighter, but very very pukey today.

Yay for your scan, Esme.

Cleaning my teeth makes me gag! My teeth are going to be shot!

lilyrose123 · 19/07/2011 12:33

I have had to tell work (nurse work) and told boss at waterbabies, the other teachers dont know yet but i told my classes on a monday cos i wasnt feeling too good and thought if i have a funny turn in the changing rooms someone should know LOL
no one else seen the weight loss as apart from work i'm practically house bound so no-one seen me :)
although managed to get to cinema on sunday and watch bridesmaids, nearly vomited from laughing so much....everyone must see it ...it will cheer you up Grin

shipsladyg · 19/07/2011 14:04

Esme - sterilisation during CS? Interesting. I didn't know that was possible. Is that NHS? I might look into that. I hated the pill and DH prefers "naked" sex and at the mo I think he's trying to get in as much as he can... Something to look into; although ideally I'm trying for a VBAC.

I'm glad other people find teeth brushing difficult too. Blergh.

Xavielli · 19/07/2011 14:33

Off to see Harry Potter tonight!! So excited. Really hope I can stay awake through it!

melliebobs · 19/07/2011 16:13

Got to say I'm managing ok with teeth brushing at the mo. Hut got a tube of kids bubblegum flavour toothpaste just in case.

Ooo was on digital spy and saw this. Bloomin mental

EsmeWeatherwax · 19/07/2011 16:23

Shipsladyg- They were ok with doing it for me because this will be baby no.3, and I am 39, and also my third cs, so all in all, fairly unlikely I will be wanting it reversed anytime soon. But it is supposed to be less reliable when done after a cs because of the general swelling in the area, etc. But I don't fancy being opened up again at a later date, and to say dh is a big fearty is putting it mildly. I know I will be finished having kids after this one though, my body just could not take another pregnancy!

hermionejgranger · 19/07/2011 18:55

oooh m1nn1em0u5e and esme - congrats on your scans :) have 3 weeks to wait for mine...
feeling a bit more positive today which is nice! sorry for the moaning yesterday Blush fiddlesticks to you hormones!!!!

xavielli hope you enjoy HP - i must persuade dh to take me soon!

melliebobs laughed at your link - particularly "appetite for non-nutritive items" Grin - is that the polite way of saying "weird preggy eating nonsense"???

OddEyes · 19/07/2011 19:55

Evening all!

Husband home and coping well. Missing hospital bed and nurses!

Toothbrushing -bleugh!

Had booking appt today. 1hr of form filling! Blood pressure low which explains my fainting, dizziness.

Gap maternity got 112 quid out of me today, Opps! Jeans are lovely - hurray for elastic and no more buttons!

Scan on 4th August. Finally a date to look forward to!

Go on holiday on Friday, hopefully if dh can stand the journey.

Call from the GP saying I had to repeat my urine test from last week. Then MW called to say I had UTI and she had got doc to write prescription. SO didn't bother going for retest. Then MW called again to say GP said no to antibiotics it was probably just a contaminated specimen. I was so worried in the in between bits because I thought i'd read somewhere that UTIs cause miscarriage. But babycentre said no, so i have stopped worrying, unless it goes to kidneys.

Anyway, I went to the shops this morning as DD needed new shoes (AGAIN - now she's a size 4F :)) and it was so exhausting i thought I was going to pass out in the bus station. I even waited 20 minutes for an hourly bus which would drop me almost at my dooor it was so bad. Mornings are SOOOO bad. Went for a nap while DD was sleeping but took ages to sleep and finally fell asleep 5 mins before she woke up, so spent the rest of the afternoon on the sofa feeling miserable.

When does it end? Oh yes, February. Then we can rest lots, eh?

Bought a not very sexy but VERY comfy bra in M&S as I couldn't face a trip to the loft to hunt for the ones i already own. I probably would fall off the ladder anyway!

Envious of those of you on cinema trips! I'd love to go, just don't trust DD to sleep for a babysitter. One day...

Off on a Toddler group trip out tomorrow to a farm! very excited, as long as I can stand up without passing out. Roll on 12 week scan and being able to explain why i am so pale!

EsmeWeatherwax · 19/07/2011 20:49

Woowa, got a lovely comfy saggy maternity bra today too...oh the relief!

claricestar · 19/07/2011 21:23

12 weeks today with a massive bump which I suspect may be due to wind! Blush

m1nn1em0u5e · 19/07/2011 21:30

Evening, scan went very well, dated me a week further ahead, so im actually due 25th Jan, but im sure when I see the consultant he will just go off my original dates (this happened with my last baby).

Baby is healthy & everything looks absolutely normal, was amazing actually as the baby was asleep on its tummy!....She woke it up by giving it a little nudge & he/she jumped & stretched arms & legs out and then turned over!....Never in my previous 2 pregnancies have I ever seen anything like that!...He/she then gave us a little wave!....Sonographer said she could see fluid in the babies tummy so it shows they can swallow....big sigh of relief....wish my sickness would improve, been terrible again this afternoon, must have vomited 8 times.

Congratulations on your scan too Esme :)

hermionejgranger · 20/07/2011 07:37

oddeyes glad your dh is home and doing well x

mummymccar · 20/07/2011 08:27

Congratulations on all the fantastic scans ladies!
Glad to hear your DH is finally home and on the road to recovery OddEyes.

Has anybody been having MS trouble with fluids? Up until a couple if days ago I was managing with just a bit of nausea but yesterday I spent all day in bed so as to be close to the toilet. Eating wasn't too bad, just made me feel nauseous, but as soon as any fluid hit my stomach I was vomiting. I've tried a few different juices & typed of drink but nothing seems to be working. Any advice? If I'm the same today then I'm going to mention it at my scan tomorrow.

Ps please excuse spelling - on my iPhone!

ITryToBeZenBut · 20/07/2011 11:57

oooh lots of lovely scan updates. Mine is 7 aug so at the very last minute but excited to have the date now.
Sorry to hear so many people are sick. I'm lucky in that had very few incidences of actual vomiting but I'm struggling with the constant nausea. Nearly 10 weeks now so holding out for it to pass too. pleeeaaaaaaassssseeeeee.
I've taken some days off work and am lying on the sofa. I just can't manage long days with high degree of stress and beig away from home. I hve an interview tomorrow for a more 9-6 type of job that is desk based and in london where I live so wish me luck Smile

mistressploppy · 20/07/2011 12:20

Hello all. Nice to read the scan stuff, can't wait for ours.

I've got some kind of horrible coldy-sore-throaty thing which is completely flattening me; I've got NO energy at all, and no appetite which is very unusual for me Grin. And tricky when the only thing that staves of nausea is eating. Bleurrgh. Poor DS was most concerned watching mummy barfing on the front steps (it was only a teeny bit though)

Zen - GOOD LUCK!

ITryToBeZenBut · 20/07/2011 12:45

mistress thanks for the luck and hope you feel better soon and you can mange a dry cracker or something Biscuit

This is my first pregnancy but after spending sunday pm looking after my lovely 3 yr old nephew and taking him bowling, I was bsolutely knackered. I have SO much respect for those of you who are suffering and hsve other DC to entertain. Amazing.

mistressploppy · 20/07/2011 12:56

Cheers Zen - actually it's not that hard, DS is very laid back and entertains himself really well. I have much more respect for you lot that have to work! And your job sounds Scary and Important ...Shock...

I am obviously much better today as I've just eaten a bowl of supernoodles (I know...I know... Grin)

phlossie · 20/07/2011 17:17

Yeah, get more sicky with fluids - especially water.

Lovely scans! V jealous - I don't even have my date yet, though it's in the pipeline.

I'm with you mistressploppy - children are easy compare with work! My DD is an absolute angel. I can nap and she'll lie next to me listening to My Naughty Little Sister on audiobook. And she's a sucker for a Disney movie.

Off to France tomorrow. Wish me luck for the 7 hour ferry crossing. I'll catch up with you all in 10 days' time. Hope you all have good week.

ITryToBeZenBut · 20/07/2011 18:20

oh yes mistressploppy, my job is very important indeed Wink. Seriously, I could do it in half the time it takes each week if I didn't have to deal with constant tantrums from people who like to think they're more important than they are and have to behave like idiots to prove it, making getting anything done much more complicated than it needs to be. I'm thinking some of these people could really do a nap and some toys to chill them out and take a leaf out of your DS' book.

Happy holidays phlossie

mumnosbest · 20/07/2011 18:40
