All i can eat is breadsticks dipped in piccalilli and ice lollies. Hmm.

I have good news.... I think my nausea has GONE!!!!!!! :D Well, i still feel a bit sicky (usually when i think of food) but apart from that ive been fine the last 2 days.. please, oh please dont come back!
I have my scan next monday and i cannot wait!
DP wanted to buy something for the bump today (just a cute little hat) but i said no, just one more week til after the scan, i made let him buy me a maternity top instead ;) Has anyone here bought anything yet? OR do you wait til a certain stage before you buy things?

Euuuuurrgh. The sickness is getting worse. 6 times so far today. It's getting like how it was with DD. AND I've completely lost my voice. My job very much involves talking, so my lovely colleague (who knows I'm up the duff and that I'm Envy) was up for me coming home to rest my voice/puke/rest my weary bones in general.

Sad

Booking appointment with MW on Wednesday, though - sure it'll make it all feel s bit more real! But even though I've seen my wee bean already, I can't relax till i see it at 12 weeks. I keep reliving the MC in February in my head.

melliebobs · 18/07/2011 16:53

Hi gang, hope we are all good and had vomit free weekends!

My weekend has been mental. Was on an exercise course on Saturday and that has wiped me out, was a 9-6pm jobbie and it took 90 mins to get there!!! Then sunday it was MIL's bday so we took her out for a sunday lunch which was the worst experience ever because I have no appetite in the slightest. And it was a crap roast dinner. In my eyes anyway!

Anwho. Question. Has anyone else gone off tea and/or coffee?? I have and it's been almost 4 weeks since i've had a brew :( Will i get the stomach for it back?! And if so will it be at the end of these tormenting 12 weeks or even worse....February?! :(

phlossie · 18/07/2011 16:55

I've bought a maternity top and a couple of bras because my boobs were so sore and swollen. I've also been perusing carry cots for my Quinny Buzz (bought after dd was at carry cot stage, had a Phil&Teds before that - am total pushchair junkie) on ebay and reading Which? reviews on car seats - apparantly have to replace mine as its six years old.

I had my booking appointment today. I got offered the choice between a dating scan and an Oscar scan, and chose dating scan only. I wouldn't terminate and I don't want an amnio, so I decided blind ignorance was the best option.

The feeling rotteness is definitely easing off. I'm still being sick once a day, but I don't feel so rubbish anymore. Still off chocolate, which is a shocker. I acrtually declined a homemade chocolate brownie today!

I'm totally off tea and coffee - drinking hot choc or warm milk instead. It's very upsetting!

melliebobs · 18/07/2011 16:58

phlossie glad i'm not alone :( I can stomach a milky coffee if i really really put my mind to it! Me and DH booked our 12 week scan on friday and decided just the dating scan rather than nuchal. Ignorance is bliss and all that and if something was wrong you will still never know to what degree so it's not worth worrying about. You want to be able to enjoy it! Well that's our opinion anyway

shipsladyg · 18/07/2011 17:33

Afternoon all!

Mellie - I've gone off tea & coffee too. To me my tea tasted like cod liver oil! Vile. Coffee made my mouth feel similar to the morning after smoking a box of cheap cigars. Camomile or mint teas only for me at the mo.

Had a good talk with DH about our experience of DD's birth so I'm feeling much better. It wasn't particularly traumatic, just classical NHS & I needed to get it off my chest. No doubt with my MW booking appt on Thurs I'll start vexing again. I really need to just let go...

Having more non icky boo days than not which is good. Still shattered though.

littlemonkeybix · 18/07/2011 18:20

hello folks, not been on the PC for a few days... so much has happened on here!

So sorry that we've had a few more leavers Sad

Good news - we told our parents on Friday evening. Got them all over for tea, then sprung it on them!! It just makes it a teensy bit more real now. Everyone was made up... and I won the bet... my dad got wet eyes first Wink It is my side's first, DP's side has TONS already.

Saturday we spent telling my bro and his sisters, again whoops of joy Smile And told my best pal who lives away. So we're planning a shopping trip soon!

Sunday was a day out for my other pal, 3 girlies doing lunch and gossiping.. again whoops and cheers.... it's been marvellous!

We're not telling anyone else though until scans (mid aug) but needed to get it off our chests. So other nephews/neices and friends don't know, but the close ones do.

I still feel like I'm lying though.... reality definitely has NOT set in yet! I suppose because my symptoms are few and far between!! (sorry tothose really suffering)

Booking in on Aug 1st... PLEASE hurry up!!! Grin

Wishing everyone the best xx

(8+2 - I think)

kayb123 · 18/07/2011 18:38

hi,
just found this site, hope you dont mind another joining you. i am currently 11 +3 i already have three children, and this one was a huge shock to me and husband as thought our family was complete :).

I have been very lucky had no sickness etc.. and still have no pg symtoms if it wasn't for the early scan and postive tests i would really doubt a pg.. but im guessing i will have it rough towards the end to make up.

EsmeWeatherwax · 18/07/2011 18:41

Hi ladies, Been a while! SO sorry to hear some have left the bus, but glad we have some newcomers! I feel like one of them myself, since I haven't been around for so long! Been away on holiday for the past couple of weeks, lol, has taken me until today to catch up with the thread.

Whoever was asking about larger tummy mat jeans, I'm fairly ginormous, well, and 18, and have found New Look's bootcuts to be fantastic, really goos fit, don't fall down all the time! Its the first time in three pregnancies I've not been cursing my trousers. I like Asda's maternity stuff too, cheap and cheerful, very good for tall ladies like me!

Symptoms have been up and down so far, can't hang onto my lunch for love nor money, but seem to be fine in the evenings. DD2 produced a minky nappy this afternoon, and I only just managed to avoid vomiting all over her when I changed it, mostly by catching the vom in my cleavage...Hmm

12 week scan tomorrow, can't wait! But very nervous too...

hermionejgranger · 18/07/2011 19:51

hi guys...rant alert...

too tired to look to see who has posted what about what, but...
totally gone off coffee, and tea makes the nasty taste in my mouth worse so i'm avoiding it...
bought some maternity jeans and tops in the next sale at the weekend so fingers crossed i've not hexed anything...
seem to be on a 16-hour cycle with the vomming (which is far less of a hassle than some of you poor ladies) but my stomach muscles are killing me from the "heaving" and my throat is v sore from the acid...(tmi? sorry)...
in a grotty mood and very tired...

sore boobs and don't like my night time bra tops being tight around my chest...
everything smells funny...

want to go to bed but don't sleep when i'm there so dh has decamped almost permanently to the naughty bed...

when am i going to start to bloom and be horny and glowy, please????? Wink

Millie26 · 18/07/2011 20:17

Hi everyone, hi kayb123, welcome to the bus!

I've gone off tea too, so depressing, I LOVE it. I celebrated our wedding ceremony with a lovely china cup of Earl Grey and I miss is so much.

Seem to be puking and feeling dreadful every other day, such a bore. Going camping in a campervan tomorrow for nearly a week with DH and DD so hope I'm not too bad.

Listened to my baby's heartbeat on our AngelSounds doppler this evening for the first time, it was so magical.

12 week scan next wednesday, can't wait!

hahah, hermione I'm really looking forward to the horny and glowing bit too! :)

woowa · 18/07/2011 20:24

Sorry about the sickness hermione and esme and everyone else. There does seem to be a gradual decline on the bus of people being sick, so you've probably not got long to go. Then you can start glowing!

I haven't bought anything yet. I almost bought a total bargain double pushchair on ebay but sensibly (!) decided that I really should wait for scan. Not having twins, just for DD and baby. I think i've got enought maternity clothes from last time, although might buy one more pair of jeans and maybe a skirt. Can't find my pregnancy bras anywhere though, so popping to the lovely M&S tomorrow as I'm currently living in a very grubby one which is the only non-wired one I own.

We are doing lots of talking about names though. That's the hardest part! Agreeing on a lifelong label!

In bed before 8 again tonight, i really slept badly last night and so slept for over an hour this avo, but still feel utterly washed out. It's the only thing that keeps giving me hope that it's still there. 9 days til scan. I suppose i'd rather be this tired than sick, but it's still pretty awful!

10+5 (nearly there!)

woowa · 18/07/2011 20:24

ps my nipples are also getting much darker. I had forgotten this bizarre but reassuring sign!!

Millie26 · 18/07/2011 20:28

hahahahahah woowa I just got my nipple out to check if mine were darker and my male next door neighbour was walking past and looking in the window.

CRINGE

hermionejgranger · 18/07/2011 20:35

oh millie thank you so much for making me laugh! poor you though! Grin

melliebobs · 18/07/2011 21:33

hermione I'm desperate for the horny and glowing bit to kick in! Dh is climbing the Walls!

woowa · 18/07/2011 21:51

lol millie Maybe close the curtains next time you do a nipple check. That goes for the rest of you too. there'll be talk about the flashing mumsnetters in the Daily Mail.

shipsladyg · 18/07/2011 22:17

Horny & Glowing - heh heh. Yep; my DH hoping that's going to kick in too; especially as he knows thereafter follows a drought.

CoffeeOne · 19/07/2011 08:44

Horny and glowing should be the title of our next thread! haha.

babycarmen - I've not bought anything for baby yet and wont till my 12 week scan, although I have bought myself some maternity bras and some clothes from the next sale. I've mostly been dreamily looking at nursery decorations!

Still sick/tired/sore over here. I've accepted this as my state of being now!

m1nn1em0u5e · 19/07/2011 09:31

Got my 12 week scan at lunch time, im so excited/nervous!

Hyperemesis still there along with awful tooth ache which the dentist cant seem to sort out until after the baby, im on antibiotics now in the hope that will calm it down!

Xavielli · 19/07/2011 09:35

Oooooh! Good luck Minnie! How exciting!

I'm beginning to think there may not be enough orange juice in the world to sate my thirst....

10weeks (according to my bump app)

melliebobs · 19/07/2011 09:37

m1nn1em0u5e ooo how exciting! Good luck, let us all know how you get on!

I've just put on a stunning performance for the neighbours. Hurling bright yellow/green bile in the outside drain! I was about to make myself a bowl of coco pops, went into the cupboard and i don't know what it was but something smelt BAD and it proper hit my stomach. I'd never have made it upstairs to unco-ordinatedly made it to the yard! I've really hurt my back in the process but my god i feel so much better now! Until now all i've had is nausea and that is so the relief i was needing!

littlemonkeybix · 19/07/2011 10:45

Oooh mellie, glad you feel better after that!! How horrid!

I had my first full on retch this morning whislt brushing my teeth!! Sad

I managed to hold it together, and went downstairs for a juice. Took me a few minutes of breathing steadily to make said juice though... but boy did it feel better after that - phew!

Sat in work now, with no-one any the wiser, however I am still a touch queasy.... hope I don;t give in to it... work still don't know!!

lilyrose123 · 19/07/2011 11:24

still nausea and sickness still on buccastem, lost 11lb in weight, bloody hurry up 12 weeks.......although
a while back having terrible sea sickness the captain told us all there are only two ways to get rid of the sickness.....sleep or swim, turns out as soon as you jump in the water your sickness goes away, I tried this theory out on a hangover in cyprus a few months ago and worked as well
so teaching my last waterbabies classes until september yesterday.....
as soon as you get in water the sickness goes, getting out dried and dressed was a whole other matter but worth the 3hrs relief that i had actually in the pool!!! :)
