I will say sorry now for such a long post but want to include everyone...

Well done to trouts puppy hope he has got a big bone for scaring the burglar. If it was one of my three they would have just licked him to death. I hope you have been getting lots of rest you need it.

Needle thank you for the recommendation, it needs lots of little parts but will be fabulous when done. I live in Scotland so mainly will be my walking around pram but in all honesty I don't care if its only ever in the garden I've wanted one since I had my first so its been a long time coming.

Hermione my miracle nausea cure is salmon sandwiches but it has to have butter (which I hate) and has to be on white bread, brown etc will not do I'm afraid.

Phlossie hope your friend had a safe and easy induction.

Welcome Donna I can understand how your feeling if I don't get my morning sickness when I wake up I start to worry, but your mind will be put at rest once you have had your scan.

Mistress very Envy of your scan date I want mine now.

Good luck today Louby, I was at a party on saturday and only have one dress that fits at the minute, I kept getting these knowing looks at my huge belly thankfully no one asked me though or Id have given in like you.

Oddeyes I'm also hoping your husband is on the mend now, do try and make 5 minutes for yourself today.

Wompoopigeon I had SPD with both my DC nothing yet so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I will be third time lucky, wouldn't even wish that pain on my worst enemy.

Yes herecomes sometimes people really shouldn't ask even if its blindingly obvious.

Purple & Phlossie I am also on the toilet more than I'm off at the minute, if I remember right I started to "clog up" once I hit the second trimester with DD and DS.

Clarin so pleased she took it so well.

Nearly finished honest..

So my wisdom's are getting better slowly but everyday is a step in the right direction. I'm also very Angry with Victoria Beckham for calling her daughter Harper that was on my list so will have to be scrubbed out now, oh well at least it wasn't my number 1.

Sugarkane · 11/07/2011 11:28

I'm sorry all of that and I forgot to ask the part that's worrying me Blush. So after DS I have a prolapse and was due for an operation which was cancelled then I found out I was pregnant before I could rebook the op, has anyone else been in this position? Will I be able to push the baby out? Sorry TMI but at the minute I cant even push a poo out because of it.

LateToTheTTCParty · 11/07/2011 12:53

Hello, is there room for another one on the bus? Just had my booking-in appointment at the hospital this morning which, I guess, means this thing is actually happening! With this being my first & no symptoms except a bit of mild nausea, I am finding it a bit too easy to forget anything is going on down there! I'm an 'elderly primip' (37), first scan booked for 4 Aug & due on 17 Feb (I'll hopefully get in before the rush on the 20th Grin)

mistressploppy · 11/07/2011 13:17

Hello Late!

Shock at bein 'elderly' at 37!!! Round here, the average age is 38!

Herecomes - if people ask me if I'm pg or when we're going to get pregnant with the next one, I just roll my eyes and say 'oh, don't YOU start!!! Ho ho ho..' etc. I figure that's not ACTUALLY lying Wink

LankyLegs · 11/07/2011 14:35

Hello you chatty bunch! I haven't posted in weeks for a number of reasons so just wanted to say hi to everyone that has joined and also was really saddened to read about the losses as well. I really feel for you all and hope you will be back on another bus really soon.

I started a new job 3 weeks ago (perfect timing hey) and have been stupidly green around the gills so I am not sure how my performance is being rated with me looking and feeling like shite. No puking thankfully but the constant nausea is certainly not doing much for my work cred. Luckily it is only a 6 month contract so I don't have to worry too much about it (but need to get past the 3 month probation stage). I am however getting slightly stressed at not getting maternity pay etc. I guess that's the hit you have to take as a freelancer. DH and I are watching our pennies big time as a result and luckily my sister has just had all her kids so should be inheriting around £2500 worth of baby equipment, buggies, clothes, car seats etc etc thank god!

Good news is that I did go and get a private scan last week (couldn't resist and was worrying a lot for some reason) and all is looking good - got to hear heartbeat as well as see the tiny thing growing inside me. I have my booking in appt and nuchal/dating scan in 2 weeks time so looking forward to that.

Sadly I think all my friends have outed me due to lack of drinking at social occasions and have had to profusely deny any accusations (feel bad but its just way to early to tell the world).

OK my attempt at catching up with the last couple of pages (esp since you have moved onto another thread since I last posted!)

Trout what a crazy few days/weeks you have had. Am so pleased for you that the scan is showing all is good - I hear this can be very common in early pregnancy but I know google (the b*stard) doesn't help matters. I hope you are not too freaked out by the attempted burglars...

clarins well done for breaking it to your friend. I used to dread friends telling me their news esp sinc it took us 20 odd months to concived. Please you could be really open with one another.

late welcome! And congratulations!!

oddeyes sending lots of wishes and a quick recovery to your DH xx

flower I watched marley and me and cried a lot - friggin hormones!

Needle I am in ore of your tea house..... and very jealous as it has always been a dream of mine. Unfortunately my career sucked me into the corporate world which is tres dull. However I do bake a lot and am toying with some sort of business idea when off with baby....

phlossie am in agreement with you - this is definitely the worse bit of pregnancy, the sickness, not being able to tell anyone and the constant worry that something is going to go wrong...

Big waves to everyone else and I will pop in more regularly from now in I think!

hello allhaven't been online in awhile (anniversary holidayno internet!!) but wanted to say welcome to all the new people and that my positive thoughts are with everyone in their various states.

last week I hit a weird spot when I just wasn't feeling right about my pregnancy--I'd lost most of my symptoms and couldn't shake a 'bad feeling' I was having. so on our holiday DP and I went for a sneaky private scan...everything is fine, saw the heartbeat (lovely bright little smudgy flicker) and was then told that I'm not 8+ weeks along, but barely 6 weeks! Yikes! What a shock. Of course the next day a wave of morning sickness hit with a vengeance. Go figure. I have my 12 week scan in early August (when I'll really only be a mere 10 weeks) and will hopefully get a clear estimated due date then. I suppose this means our baby might not come until March...but this might make some extra room for the others due on the 20th? can I still keep my seat on the February bus???

most importantly, I want to suggest that if you're feeling any concerns and are unable to score an early scan through NHS then you should book a private scan. £99 is very little to pay for peace of mind!

(6 weeks...only 6 weeks.)

louby86 · 11/07/2011 16:58

Hello everyone!

clarinsgirl glad telling your friend went well and your DS's response was so lovely!

Sugarkane Sad at having to take Harper off your list but I'm guessing you've not had to cross seven off too? Grin

Hello late and welcome to our very busy bus!

I'm excited for all of you that have had early scans and seen your baby beans wriggling around!!!

Had my first midwife appointment today, went really well in some ways, not so good in others. She pretty much dismissed my hyperemesis, although it was already in my notes from the doctor, and told me it was normal even though I'm on two sets of meds now and have been tested twice in the last week for ketones.

Apparently I'm also in the 'very young' bracket for being pregnant (I'm 24, didn't think that was too young) so felt a bit like a naughty teenager when I was handed a chlamydia test to take away. Apparently I have to post it to the hospital and they text me my results!

On the plus side my local health authority or whatever it is called is encouraging people to have home births and go to birthing centres if they are low risk. I hadn't really thought about it until today but there's a birthing centre in my local hospital on the same floor as the normal maternity unit and the floor above has NICU/SCBU so I think I'm going to look into that as she made it sound really good.

Next appointment at the sugery is 1st September so I've just got to wait for my scan appointment to come through now!!!

Sorry for such a long post!

phlossie · 11/07/2011 17:41

sugarkane - just quickly - my friend had a prolasped anus after her first, and went on to have a second with no problems - she got it 'fixed' a year or so after he was born.

Crikey withoutanet - can those dates stack up with your cycle etc? That's quite a big discrepancy!

Shock at 24 being 'very young'! I was only 25 when I got pregnant with my first. 15 is 'very young'! People are weird.

And my friend had her first baby (girl) at 3.30am by c-section. The induction didn't go as planned, poor love had an ordeal. But that glorious thing where you hold your baby and all the horridness evaporates away has happened for her. Ahhhh.

I went to Mothercare today and bought ridiculous sized maternity bras. My boobies are very happy now!

withoutanet · 11/07/2011 18:15

I know phlossie, doesn't seem possible does it? But I had my coil (copper only-no hormones) taken out in April and the (one) cycle I had afterwards, before getting pregnant, was ridiculously long. So I suppose it does make sense if counting for a 35-36 day cycle. And it certainly explains why my 2nd & 3rd tests were so faint (those were Boots brand, our 1st BFP was a fancy-pants ClearBlue digital)--I was only 3 weeks along! All said, I'm not-so-secretly hoping that the next scan in August will show me to be further along. It's so frustrating to think that we've got even longer to go than we originally thought before we tell our families and friends.

Congrats to your friend and her baby girl!

ITryToBeZenBut · 11/07/2011 18:39

Hi late - I'm 34 and due same day as you.

Anyone else staying away with work during the week in hotels? I managed to get away with working from home today but I have to leave tomorrow until Thursday and not relishing the thought of sitting in the hotel room with my seasickness bands on in the evenings but trying to be positive and think that at least I get to hibernate and it's just me - no one else to think about.

Yoga keeps me sane. I'm a nearly qualified yoga teacher in my part time (october hopefully Grin ) so can give myself a little 'class' in my hotel room if I feel like moving whcih keeps me sane. I'm not able to practice with my usual teacher until after the first trimester so my current practice is very, very gentle. I went to the chip shop last week after basically breathing for 30 mins Wink. Maybe as time goes on I can give some advice if anyone likes yoga and has q's - may as well share the love as I paid a lot of money to do the pregnancy focused stuff. Smile

BillComptonstrousers · 11/07/2011 19:24

Look at all the people! And all the chatting, I've only been off a few days and there is loads to catch up on, I think my pregnancy brain might explode, I bet no one missed me me either

Do you think you can actually die from morning sickness? I have lost half a bloody stone, I'm wasting away.

No more bleeding since last week but I'm still going for my early scan in the morning so fingers crossed, but the way I'm feeling there must be a damn baby in there!

I had a letter from the hospital for an appointment, and when I've looked at the date I will be 17 weeks so lord knows what thats for!

Would love to say individual hello to everyone but I'm just going to wave rather feebly and try to catch up with the rest of the thread.

OP posts:
Xavielli · 11/07/2011 20:02

I'm almost wishing I could die from morning sickness! It would be a blessed relief at this point! Been so sick today, really hope it's not like this tomorrow as it's my birthday.

Hope everyone is feeling ok!

LateToTheTTCParty · 11/07/2011 21:08

Ooo Zen I love yoga and have been continuing my practice - I have two yoga instructors, both have told me different things! The guy said no probs, don't do anything different, the woman said don't do twists or anything involving abs Confused. What's your take on it all?

melliebobs · 11/07/2011 21:55

I'm no yoga instructor but I'm a fitness instructor and deal with 'clinical populations'. We are told only to do an work until 12 weeks. Then any exercise should just be maintenance so on that I wouldn't give any n e way. But end of the day it's personal choice

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 11/07/2011 22:15

So there was me hoping that I might be getting away with constant nausea and a bit of dry boaking. But no, as of today we seem to have hit Proper Barf Central. Envy

Yeuch.

Popping in 4 quick post. Hoping all well but can't catch up, sorry.
Dh in ITU, bad post op internal bleed that isn't healing and they trying to pump blood in as fast as it is coming out. Adrenaline seems to have cured my morning sickness Wink but did very nearly faint this morning, nice to have docs attention for a few minutes.

louby86 · 11/07/2011 22:49

Oh no Sad thinking of you oddeyes hope everything starts to get better soon x

Flower82 · 11/07/2011 23:22

All the best oddeyes, to you and your DH. Make sure you look after yourself won't you?

Emz33 · 12/07/2011 05:20

Is it just me or are any of you having trouble sleeping?

I didn't get to sleep until 5am yesterday and had to get up for work at 7.30! As a result I was so tired last night so went to bed at 9.30pm and slept until 3am (with a few toilet visits in between) and haven't been able to get back to sleep at all.

Not sure what to do at all! At least I'm now 100% up to date on all my emails though. Wink

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 12/07/2011 07:04

Thinking of you, oddeyes - how stressful.

emz, I'm really struggling to sleep too. I know the whole of pregnancy was pretty rough for me last time, but this bit is particularly tough.

Xavielli · 12/07/2011 07:34

I hope your DH recovers quickly oddeyes

Needle · 12/07/2011 07:37

Jeeze, louby, I was 23a? When I got pg with my first and am 25 now. I hated that the midwives made me feel like a chavvy teenager for being younger than average.

"billcomptonstrousers" i'll swap you your half stone off for my half stone on. I look like i've been inflated, and i've somehow got to get into my dress for dd's christening.

Still an emotional psycho.

Needle · 12/07/2011 07:38

oddeyes look after yourself, and best wishes to your dh x

Crazybit · 12/07/2011 08:06

Thinking of you oddeyes.

I've been up all night with what I thought was a urine infection but I've started bleeding now. Just waiting for docs to open to try and get an appointment. Sickness has subsided to a dull nausea.

louby86 · 12/07/2011 08:07

Xavielli ........coughs and clears voice.......

Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday Xavielli, happy birthday to you!

Wishing you a vom free birthday Grin
