Posting on the phone and I have an essay to submit hereGrin

We got woken up by the dog in the middle of the night but didn't think anything of it. I got up early to do the food for dh's party (mil had offered to help but she can't cook so I thought it kinder to everyone if I did it). Dh came down from bed at 9, when he opened the front door he found tool marks on it. So I called the police. I love my dog he is a very clever puppy and had scared the bad man away!

Then we had the police round for paperwork and I was allowed to sit down while mil made a salad which took her an hour so it was a good job I did everything else.

Dh's party was good though and I've managed to sleep longer than I have in a week and so far touching wood, I've not had anymore big bleeds. He doesn't know it yet but after the last 2 days I'm not moving anywhere todayBiscuitBrew

hope all of you nauseous ladies feel better soon

sugarkane i've got a silver cross Lexington for my primary pram and I adore it. It's brilliant for the supermarket and there's nothing better for the baby than a proper carrycot with a mattress. If you need any parts for it try Baby birds, they've got a really good website and are very helpful. Where do you live? I'm in central London and for us the big pram works really well, but I do have an I icandy peach for bus trips.

Still no MS here, but incredibly tearful and having really terrible nightmares. I'm trying to concentrate on plans for dd's birthday on the 26th, Christening and party on the 24th and official opening of our Tea House on the 25th, but all I want to do is sleep!

Needle · 10/07/2011 07:25

That should be kensington, not Lexington!

Needle · 10/07/2011 07:30

trout that sounds terrifying! Definitely give yourself a day off. I've already decided that i'm coming home from church, putting dinner in the oven and sitting down with my knitting to the end of the day!

hermionejgranger · 10/07/2011 10:13

trout it sounds like you've not had much fun! is that your three things now, though? fingers crossed for you...

I've found a miracle cure for nausea. CHIPS. sadly I can't eat them all day and there is the added problem that the oven chips take 30 mins to cook - thinking of getting microwave chips when we do the (boak) food shop later today. DH despairs during the food shop...it's taking twice as long as usual due to my indecision over whether the food we've chosen is going to make me heave or not. Bless him.

melliebobs hope you're feeling a bit better now and that the curry went down well!

I've found a thread on here which has made me wonder about something - don't know if anyone can shed any light. A while ago (between 7-9 years I think) I had a colposcopy and loop excision following a smear test where they found CIN III cells. Is that going to be a problem? Does it mean I have a yampy cervix? Can I wait til Friday to tell the MW?

melliebobs · 10/07/2011 10:21

needle you have a tea house?! I am sooooo jealous. Having one of those as my own business is my dream! Lots and lots of teas and my home baked cakes (I love baking!) what kind of stuff will you be offering?!

Where I live in Preston there's a place called Mystery Teahouse. It's owned by a polish couple and it's AMAZING. Over 100 different types of tea served in traditional oriental teapots and THE best cakes and pies. Mmmmmm and you can buy their teas online and in the shop. Have my own little stash for when I don't have the money to go!

phlossie · 10/07/2011 15:12

Ooh, I like the sound of a tea house!

Glad your poor DH is ok, oddeyes - all the best for his recovery.

You do sound like you've had an ordeal, trout

I have no idea hermione - ask your midwife.

One of my BFFs is in hospital being induced - last heard from on Friday, still haven't heard a peep. I had an anxiety dream about it (shouldn't have gone to bed at 8.30pm, weird nights sleep).

I dragged myself to work this morning after being very sick at 7.20am! It was hard going in places, but I feel so much better now! Definitely think a bit of gentle exercise - like melliebob's walk on the beach (very Envy of the beach) helps a lot.

ITryToBeZenBut · 10/07/2011 17:52

hermione - I had a loop excision about 6 years ago now - from a gynae called Dr K Jelley actually Smile

I'd totally forgotten about it until I went to see the doctor on Friday and she asked about it and made a note on the referral to the midwife team. She said it can mean a very, very small chance of the cervix not dilating properly due to scar tissue but the complication rate is very small indeed (noone mentioned anything like this as a potential side-effect or any effect on future pregnancies at all when I had the procedure done) but the midwife would discuss with me. Interested to hear what your midwife says as my appointment isn't for another 3 weeks.

DonnaM82 · 10/07/2011 18:17

Hi all, I'm Donna, 29 years old, current estimate is that I'm due 26th Feb 2012 with my first child. As a mature student, I should have a lovely 6 months with baby till going back to Uni for my final year (if I get essay titles in good time and written before the birth!).

I am a natural worrier and haven't had much in the way of morning sickness. I'm sure that will make some of you jealous but I find it causes anxiety cos I just don't feel pregnant much of the time. Well, apart from being bloated from constipation :o/

Can't wait till my first scan - I think that will make it feel real. Till then, I'm being cautiously optimistic and trying not to buy every pregnancy test in sight "just to check"... lol

DonnaM82 · 10/07/2011 18:25

Sorry, forgot to add that I think I'm 7+0 at the mo, but my cycle was irregular after coming off the coil so I'll find out for sure at the first scan. :)

mistressploppy · 10/07/2011 18:50

Hi everyone!

Shock Trout, oh my god, how scary???

Welcome Donna - your symptoms are EXACTLY like mine, I don't feel sick (or very pregnant) apart from being constipated and bloated! It was the same last time though (I already have DS1, 20mo)

I got my scan date through today! Yippee! 1st August, when I'll be 12wks on the nose. Fingers crossed.....I do have a horrible intrusive thought that they'll do the scan and there'll be nothing there Sad

hermionejgranger · 10/07/2011 19:35

hi Donna congratulations :)

Zen Grin at the gynae's name! I had a dentist called Mr Chew once! I'll talk to the mw on Friday and come back with the answer. I was a bit worried about (not sure if this is the right terminology) "incompetent cervix" - is that where it opens too early? Hmm. Worry worry worry!!

hermionejgranger · 10/07/2011 19:42

In the interim, Zen, and thanks to google and cancer research uk, I've found this which gives a bit of info...

QueenFee · 10/07/2011 20:23

Mistress Ploppy I also have a horrible feeling that I will get to my scan to be told its all in my head!
I think this is partly perpetuated by the fact I conceived 1st post partum ovulation due to breastfeeding so keep thinking in my head that maybe I have just got a very long cycle... the bfp seems so long ago.

mistressploppy · 10/07/2011 20:25

Glad it's not just me, QueenFee Grin

louby86 · 10/07/2011 22:12

TiredTrout what an eventful time you've had, you must be so proud of your clever little puppy though! Bet he's had loads of treats and fuss as a well deserved reward!!!

Got my first midwife appointment tomorrow, really looking forward to it, more so I can get get my scan booked in really!

Went to a wedding reception last night and got asked if I was pregnant, made a conscious effort to wear what I thought was quite a loose fitting dress! Obviously alcohol gives people the courage to ask really rude questions! I should have said no and embarrased the person that asked but I just caved in! Hopefully she was that drunk she doesn't even remember it today!

Hope you've all had lovely weekends, with exception to the would be intruders! DH really wants a dog, and that story is winning me round to the idea more now! Grin

wompoopigeon · 10/07/2011 22:32

Oddeyes wanted to say I hope your DH is ok. It must be a really stressful time for you- especially with being pg and all- sending very best wishes your way.

My news is that I've already started to get twinges in my pelvis meaning the dreaded SPD is on it's way. It was a horrific experience last time so I was really hoping to avoid it this time.... Fingers still crossed.

I'm tired all the time and dreading work tomorrow!

I had a bit of bleeding at week 7 and a private scan at the Portland Hospital- they could see me straight away for £128 whereas the NHS mw just told me to wait and see or go to A & E, neither of these things I particularly felt like doing. I was feeling a bit superstitious anyway as my dad had died the day before, so it was the best cash I've ever spent to see the little heartbeat etc. Fingers crossed for the next scan which is on 26 July, and for everyone else on this thread of course.

Anyone else make the mistake of watching Marley and me on tv this evening? A little blond child crying over the family dog? I still can't stop crying!

herecomesthsun · 11/07/2011 02:20

By the way do you think it is acceptable to say "oh no I am not pregnant when you really are but it is too early to tell people?

Needle · 11/07/2011 07:17

bellies um, lots and lots of teas and home made cakes, basically! Absolutely everything is done in house- we've got an incredible cook who's going to make e everything fresh every day: cake and pudding, full English, toast, light meals, sandwiches, soups etc. No chips, coca cola, coffee or copies of the guardian. Otherwise anything goes. I'm running a baby group, a knitting/ needlework group and (if there's enough interest) an ante-natal "snortin

Needle · 11/07/2011 07:20

Bcks to my stupid bloody phone, that should say melliebobs, obviously and I was trying to say that i'm going to offer an antenatal "knitting for newborns" class. There should be more ways to make friends than through the nct imo.

ITryToBeZenBut · 11/07/2011 07:46

Thanks, Hermione. I'll take a look at those websites.

Mr Chew the dentist - hehe Grin

Purpletoes · 11/07/2011 09:48

Hi everyone

Just trying to catch up my this thread goes fast! Just a quick question is anyone else experiencing a dodgy tummy at the moment? Mine is unreal and comes on real sudden sorry if TMI Blush it is just everything you read says constipation not the runs!

phlossie · 11/07/2011 09:57

I have been, purpletoes, wondered if it was my weird diet. TMI ALERT I had really bad runs the other morning, and then had to turn round and puke into the same toilet bowl. Gross.

This bit of pregnancy is rubbish.

Grin Mr Chew the dentist. At school, the oboe teacher was called Mrs Blewitt.

I can't find my sunglasses.

I posted earlier about being worried about telling my Best friend about being pregnant as she's been TTC for over 2 years. Just to let you know that she was brilliant. She got a bit upset (in fact I think we both blubbed) but she was really pleased for me and I'm so glad she knows. We told DS (6) on Saturday, he fell over, then needed a wee, then asked if we were joking and once he finally believed us he said 'it's my dream come true' Smile.
Oh 10 weeks today I think.
