Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
diedandgonetodevon · 06/07/2011 13:38

louby it does sound scary but at least they are making sure you are being looked after properly.

mistressploppy · 06/07/2011 14:01

Welcome Monkeybix! Can I make a request? If have a leap baby (boy), please consider calling him Frederic Grin

mrsrvc · 06/07/2011 14:03

Hi All.
Blimey you are a chatty bunch. I cant keep up!
So sorry to hear that people are leaving, and thinking of you all.
Cramping much better here so feeling mightily relieved. I also had a cheeky listen on the doppler, thinking "oh its too early, but what the heck", and there was one very fast and remarkably loud heart beat!
Now counting down the days to by Nuchal scan and MW apt. MW on 15th, Nuchal on 20th..

AverageHeight · 06/07/2011 14:05

Thanks louby, hope you're ok.

My first preganancy too littlemonkeybix! I missed that bit out of my previous post in my excitement. I've also not told anyone apart from a friend who guessed last week. My husband doesn't want to tell his parents until the scan and I don't want to only let my parents know as they do speak to each other regularly. It wouldn't really be fair.

DiamanteMaddy, I don't really know the answer for you. But I'm in the middle of moving and I contacted my new gp-surgery-to-be who got me to phone the community midwife co-ordinator directly to arrange stuff for once I've moved.

littlemonkeybix · 06/07/2011 14:07

@mistressploppy - LOL I like it!! We do have names already in the pipeline, but I'm not averse to a nickname ;)

mistressploppy · 06/07/2011 14:15
Grin

Anyone in Hampshire, btw? There's so many of us I'm thinking SOMEONE must be near enough for a meet-up one day.....

diedandgonetodevon · 06/07/2011 14:43

A quick moan from me. Have been very violently sick this afternoon, so much so I was coming out of my nose. I'm off to my first MW's appointment now and I'm paranoid I smell of vomit as it's all in my nose Sad

PamBeesly · 06/07/2011 14:46

diedandgonetodevon thats awful make sure to mention it to the midwife. If its an consolation a colleague of mine who used to be a midwife before she changed career told me that morning sickness is a good sign, healthy baby wise. Thats whats making me cope with the constant morning noon and night sickness. She also told me accupuncture is worthwile if it gets too bad

ITryToBeZenBut · 06/07/2011 15:25

Hello all - I'd like a single on the February bus to the end of the line, please.

I'm pregnant with 1st baby - first post and feels so wierd to write that even though planned pregnancy. Recently engaged but I'm in my mid thirties and been with my other half for over 5 years now so hoping not to get the cart before horse response from my parents.I'm nervous to tell them - I feel like I'm 13 again (blush).

I've only told a few people as I'm waiting until my scan, these being close friends who guessed from the fact I'm not drinking, am a pale shade of green constantly from the relentless nausea, have lost my caffeine habit and have developed a carb fixation.

Bought my first pregnancy book at the weekend and really wished I hadn't read the end section :-)

Looking forward to getting to know people.

ITryToBeZenBut · 06/07/2011 15:26

And I don't know how to get smiley's to work properly :-)

Needle · 06/07/2011 16:16

There's a guide to smiles at the bottom of the screen zen Smile
FWIW, dh and I were together for 3 months before I got pregnant, and got married when I was 4 months along, so we got every shotgun wedding joke going.

Welcome to all the new people, gosh it's busy in here!

Our dd was called Stumpy Fat Head in utero, and Gwiffle now she's out. This one has been dubbed Tadpole Face by dh.

So sorry to everyone who's suffering. I'm just peeing a lot and getting fatter. Oh, and am an emotional PSYCHO!

diedandgonetodevon · 06/07/2011 16:18

Thanks Pam, that's what I was thinking. Had hardly any sickness with DS so this is a whole new game.

I'm in a much more positive frame of mind now. My new midwife is lovely, a world away from my previous one who she has told me is no longer a practising MW.
My blood pressure was normal- was always high in my last pregnancy whenever I had to see the evil MW but normal with anyone else. So it all bodes well.

Because of the previous CSec I will have to have the same number of MW's appointments as I had first time around and will see the consultant at 20wks to discuss birth options.

The biggest weight off my mind is that I have been told that it is my decision if I go for an elective this time (which I most likely will go for) and I won't have to argue my case. Yay!

mummymccar · 06/07/2011 16:42

Hey ladies just an update from my end. Had the scan today and all is well. Saw little bean and a very strong heartbeat. Dr said she looks very good. So I'm digging my heels in and staying put on this bus!

miamama09 · 06/07/2011 16:46

mummycar that's great news! do you know it's a girl already btw?

mummymccar · 06/07/2011 17:32

No still too early to tell and we want it to be a surprise, but my DP keeps calling baby a 'her' so it's caught on here.
Telling our parents this weekend. A bit nervous about telling my mum in case she becomes hysterical (she says that when you become a grandparent you are old and she is terrified of ageing!) but at the end of the day we are happy and I'm sure they'll all be too. So relieved that all is ok with bean that I couldn't give two-hoots about anything else right now! Ha!

Xavielli · 06/07/2011 17:32

Great news on the scan mummymccar! Can't wait for mine, mainly as I'll be 12 weeks and the worst of the sickness will be over. Bought some sea bands today and they do seem to be helping and are more comfortable than I thought they'd be.

8 weeks(ish)

mummymccar · 06/07/2011 17:32

Ps thanks miamama!

Tiredtrout · 06/07/2011 18:02

That's lovely news mummymccar.

I'm in west berks if that's any good to you mistressploppy!

Spent most of the day at the epu for another scan as I've had 3 more big bleeds. One of which was on the way into the consultants room for the scan so at least they know I mean what I say about flooding Grin

I was checked over for quite a while and given quite a long scan where I got to listen to beans heartbeat for a bit. It's a haematoma which is causing all the bleeds and I've been told I can't do anything at all till it heals Hmm

phlossie · 06/07/2011 18:53

Oh hurrah mummymcar you must be so happy!

Someone at my dd's flipping nursery has slapped cheek, so I've been trying to get hold of my mum to see if I've had it! Another thing to worry about.

I feel so rough. Shattered and sick and I have a flipping horrible cold. I NEVER get ill normally, but I get everything when pregnant. Maybe you've got gastroenteritus diedandgonetodevon? I got it loads when pregnant with DD.

Blah blah meh. I'm feeling whingey. And my god, am I emtional...

QueenFee · 06/07/2011 19:17

Hi all
Trout glad your still here x take care

Jealous of all those scans!

Feel sick dizzy exhausted and emotional :( only got about 3 hrs sleep last night due to older dcs so still tired despite a 2 hour nap

Told my mum last night and all she said was i'm not suprised with a monotone.
I could understand if she had said oh i'm pleased for you because I knew you wanted another. I thinl I would rather she had called me mad than seeming not to care at all :(

MiauMau · 06/07/2011 20:39

Hello there! Joining the bus as well.
Due date is Feb 13th, but I'm hoping for a Valentine baby, as that would be the cutest thing possible :)

questforanswers · 06/07/2011 21:07

Hey guys room for another? I'm 6+6 with my first (OH's 2nd) and feeling incredibly anxious!! I've already needed an emergency scan to eliminate EP (thankfully all in the correct place with a lil heartbeat Grin) and that was only yesterday but every little pain terrifies me.......is it normal to still feel what can only be described as period cramps? And is next year a leap year? Crikey I hope I'm on time!!
23/02/12 here we come!!!!

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 06/07/2011 21:26

quest, yes, I've had that crampy almost period-y discomfort each time.

Yay for everyone with happy scans, and so sorry to all those leaving us. Hold on tight, trout, we don't want you going anywhere!

QueenFee, what a weird response. So sorry.

My appointments came in today for booking visit with MW and for dating scan - will need to update the stats thread. It's feeling a bit real-er now!

7+2

PDog · 06/07/2011 21:45
