Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LolaRennt · 05/07/2011 13:05

xavelli the competition doesn't start though until its who had the worst labour!

mistressploppy · 05/07/2011 13:12

Can I ask anyone who's already got two or more DC to pop onto my new thread and give me the benefit of your wisdom? Grin

miamama09 · 05/07/2011 14:40

Anybody mind if I just pop on to have a rant? I am so flippin tired. I mean exhausted. All I want to do in work is sleep. All I want to do at home is sleep. But I don't obvisouly, DD takes up all my time with DH who works long hours. I feel physically sick I am so tired.
I know this should pass soon, but it's impossible to keep going, trying to explain to DH why I am so tired, irritable, don't feel like cooking or cleaning after work....grrrrr
Plus, hayfever is killing me, and none of the medicines are suitable for use in pregnancy! my baggiest clothes even make me look huge, I am still trying to cover it up in work, so I feel even more uncomfortable (scan next Friday) and am literally dreading telling them as they won't be happy...
Sorry - rant over! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

lilyrose123 · 05/07/2011 14:48

coffeeone
dont bother with other peoples stories, I had a bad time, and you find comfort in talking to others who have had a long or bad experience, its a bit like complaining, people are quick to complain to shops/stores and never as quick to pass a compliment, and if I am honest if you have a long labour you secretly hate feel a bit of injustice for those that had a twinge and get to 5cms LOL
what will be will be and we all get through it and some of us stupid enough go on to have more :o

lilyrose123 · 05/07/2011 14:53

mia mamma
I am also suffering with hayfever really bad! wouldnt wish it on worst enemy and it increases your tiredness and rattiness!
i used to work at NHS direct and they used to recommend that loratadine could be used in pregnancy but when i went to pharmacist the other day they would sell it me!
so i checked the nhs choices website, now if you search loratadine it says not safe to take in pregnancy, but search hayfever and pregnancy and says suitable arrrrgghhh!!!
have now emailed them to say their website contradicts itself!

currybaby · 05/07/2011 14:55

ooooh miamama09 i know how you feel Smile ! i normally love cooking and usually do it for me and the OH every evening but at the moment I get home from work and need to snooze on the sofa and can't face doing any cooking. i find i've got about 7 hours of energy to do something each day - then i'm wiped out - so its either doing something in the day time or the evening - not both!

I went for my booking in appointment this morning too mistressploppy . it is just all the form filling but as an over-excited first-timer i found it good and my midwife was really lovely (which made a change from horrible GPs asking me why I'm there). And it was good to take away all the packs of info. actually - i read somewhere in all the info about pregnancy affecting eyesight - which I remember someone was asking about earlier in this thread (sorry can't look back without losing this i don't think). apparently the hormones can affect it so that might be the reasons for the vision spots?

thanks for the tip coffee i'm going to avoid that thread. i'm trying not to think about giving birth at the moment - although its great to hear that it can be not so bad!

i haven't been on here for a few days so welcome and congrats to those who have joined.

i'm so sorry to hear your news puzzletree . you were one of the original ones on this thread and its going to be sad not having you with us. i hope you are doing ok and getting good support Sad

miamama09 · 05/07/2011 14:58

Let me know if you come up with any other remedies, I am seriously considering going to GP and demanding some relief.
DH needs to sleep with the window open when the weather is so hot like this - which means I am waking during the night itching and sneezing and going into the spare room to sleep.
which is not helping with the zzzzzzz's during the day at my desk!

puzzletree · 05/07/2011 15:07

Hi all. Thanks for all the kind messages. Had the scan this morning and it confirmed what we knew, the miscarriage is pretty much complete. So I'm definitely off the bus :(
Willitbe I'm so sorry and sad you're going through this too. Take care of yourself and wishing you the best of luck for the future.
Everyone else Hope you have event-free pregnancies and births and looking forward to the february baby boom next year! Good luck lovely ladies :)

lilyrose123 · 05/07/2011 15:16

puzzlettree and willitbe very sadfor you both
i hope you both take care

miamamma have you tried local honey, i was using it before pregnancy found my local bee keeper through the beekeppers association, need the bees to have been pollinating in your area, i just cannot stomach it at the minute :(

Gp at work today said also try vasaline around/under nostrils and under eyes to trap the pollen particles???
I did also buy some sea salt nasal spray which basically washes the pollen out of your nasal passages, but this is only good if you can then try and stay pollen free!

CoffeeOne · 05/07/2011 15:20

so sorry puzzletree and willitbe thinking of you.

Thanks for the reassurance guys, I haven't even been thinking that far ahead but it is a very traumatic read I wish I'd stayed away! hah.

mummymccar · 05/07/2011 15:41

So sorry to hear your news puzzletree and willitbe. I think it was you who introduced me to this page puzzletree.
I'm halfway out the door at the moment too I'm afraid. I was in hospital all day yesterday with cramps and spotting. I have a UTI so hopefully it was just a symptom of that as I haven't had any more spotting or cramps since starting on antibiotics, but having a scan tomorrow to check on bean. Please keep your fingers crossed for us!

puzzletree & willitbe I'm so sorry and you are both in my thoughts.

I have finally got around to booking my first MW's appointment for 3 o'clock tomorrow and I've started knitting a blanket (I'm not a natural knitter but it gives me something to concentrate on to take my mind off feeling sick)

phlossie · 05/07/2011 16:31

lilyrose123 I know who you are! You're in the NW? I'm in Bristol, Water Babies teacher, already got two children aged 3 & 5... Your initials are RS. Am I right or am I right?!

phlossie · 05/07/2011 16:51

Sorry puzzletree, willitbe and miamama - it sounds like you're all having a rough ride. Hold on tight everyone else.

shipsladyg · 05/07/2011 17:14

Sorry to hear the bad news from those who've had some. Be kind to yourselves. I still think about my first little one. I know in reality she wasn't there (blighted ovum) - but still...

Had my GP's booking in appointment. And so starts the arguments about which size BP cuff they should use on me. They ignored me today and funny old thing, my BP was 143/96... I wish they would listen and use the correct cuff and get a normal reading. Ah well.

Right - DD needs supper.

blissfull · 05/07/2011 18:23

Hello everyone I havent been on for a while due to feeling so poorly , just wanted to send my heartfelt sympathy to those who have left the bus.I am due to go for my 3rd scan at epu on Thursday and hope to see a heart beat, so I can get booked in when they confirm a viable (I hate that word)pregnancy- has anyone had the trots? Its driving me mad had it for a week now , been the docs he said its hormonal....Wishing you all a nice , happy evening

QueenFee · 05/07/2011 18:55

:( to those of you leaving the bus

Hayfever. I went to the dr last time and he said the only one officiallly safe in pg is the drowsy one. Active ingredient starts with a c. I have used loads of kinds during pg as the 1st dr said if it was only on occasion it would be ok.

Crazybit · 05/07/2011 19:16

Sorry Puzzletree and willitbe :( Life can be so cruel sometimes.

Blissful-Me, I've had it for over two weeks now, going to get some different pg supplements tomorrow and hope they're more gentle on my stomach.

I had my booking in appointment today, took nearly 2 hours!! DD (3) started getting very restless, although she was fascinated at my blood being taken. I don't have another appointment until 15 wks now-also got my bounty pack but it was out of date so some of the vouchers where out of date grr.

I had planned to go to the supermarket after the appointment, but after dragging dd home in the rain after mw I was so tired that I put her a DVD on and went to sleep, then let dd1(11) make tea as she's been nagging to, she managed to make it raw and burnt, will have to get my ass in gear next time, and remember that delegating just means more work for me in the long run.

YellowSparkle · 05/07/2011 19:16

Sorry to hear that people are leaving.

Ive got my first midwife appointment tommorow so hopefully that will go smoothly. Hopefully it wont be to long before my sickness goes away!

melliebobs · 05/07/2011 19:18

Heartfelt hugs n sympathies to those leaving us

I think we need some happy talk on here. So. . . . . . What is everyone referring to their little critter as at the mo?! Heard alot of bean talk! Me n dh r calling ours pip at the moment!

PDog · 05/07/2011 19:36

Ours is Barney Mellie. I downloaded the Sprout app and when dh saw me looking at the 3d image at about 5 weeks, he said it looked like Barney the purple dinosaur! It has stuck since then.

My gp called this morning. She double checked some advice she read yesterday and turns out the advice was wrong. Means I have to inject myself everyday throughout my pregnancy Sad. Nevermind, had to do it last time and it wasn't so bad.

Back to work tomorrow, not sure how I am going to cope without my post lunch naps!

Welcome to maddy.
