cherry this is the one we got www.preciouslittleone.com/product-information/19/8311/hauck-disney-condor-all-in-one-travel-system---classic-mickey/

I am not sure on the size of boots in micras, but compare t to the dimensions... it folds up really small compared to other travel systems... we got it cheaper than that price though, and it is actually lovely!

kri5ty · 01/08/2011 10:39

ps honey fingers crossed for your placenta! it will moev up!

kri5ty · 01/08/2011 10:40

god, i have been reading through my posts... i am very sorry for all the awful typos! I guess that is what happens when you try to hurry and type between customers!

HoneyLovesCake · 01/08/2011 11:03

Thanks kri5ty I've looked up the stats & the odds are very good (facts & figures calm me down) so I'm focussing on the extra scan I'll get & not worrying much about the chance of a cs.

Had a very productive Blue Peter style day yesterday; built 2 cupcake stands for my best friends wedding & made 120 monogrammed fondant cupcake toppers which look v. professional if I do say so myself Grin. Of course now I'm exhausted & I have tonnes to do today.

Can't wait for the wedding on Saturday; although I've just tried on my bridesmaid dress (bought when I was just 15 weeks) & I think it makes me look fat rather than emphasising my bump as I'd hoped. Oh well, I was never going to look my best...pregnant bridesmaid with braces Hmm I'll have to stay at the back of any photos!

I wonder if we have any breast feeding experts on the thread at the mo? I really need to wear a strapless underwired bra on Saturday...I've been non-wired since I got pg. As it's just a one-off will this be ok? I don't want to cause any problems later.

OiMissus · 01/08/2011 11:32

Hi honey, I'm no Bf expert, but i can't imagine that one day of under-wiring will have a negative effect. Unfortunately, there aren't many non-underwired strapless bras around! I bought one for my Summer holiday, but it was really uncomfortable after a couple of hours. In the end I wore a bandeau bikini top under my dresses (no wire!) and this worked well.
Despite going from a 32E to a 34FF (stand back Jordan!) my bazzoomers are so firm, I don't really need the support - I just needed the coverage. If you are quite firm and upstanding ( :) ), I'd suggest looking for a plain bandeau bikini top in the sales -- so much comfier!

mopsytop · 01/08/2011 11:32

Hey Honey one of my friends who is pregnant with no. 2 said she always wears underwires this time round and it's totally fine. For one day I'd say it definitely won't cause any problems, so long as it's comfortable.

OiMissus · 01/08/2011 11:35

p.s. I bought my bandeau top in Tescos a couple of years back - plain, no ruched bit, £2. :)

lalababy · 01/08/2011 11:52

Hi all... I hope you don't mind be gatecrashing the party... :)

kri5ty · 01/08/2011 11:53

yup mine are staying firmly in place too... in times when i have needed a strapless bra, i have just gone without and worn nipple daises to stop the peanut look!

HoneyLovesCake · 01/08/2011 12:09

Thanks for the advice ladies. I don't really need the support or coverage as my boobs are happily super-firm since I got pg but I do need the padding :( I had to go for a size up in a non-maternity dress (empire line maxi from Coast) to allow for the bump but it means the top is a bit big without a bra & I don't have the time or inclination to take it in.

OiMissus Blimey, I went from a 32C to a 34C I can't imagine being a 34FF!!!!! I'm vaguely Envy although my bump's causing me enough backache as it is.

kri5ty · 01/08/2011 12:25

what about a stick on bra? Like the ones they sell in la senza? I used to use them pre pregnancy as i needed the padding x

OiMissus · 01/08/2011 12:44

It's a crying shame. I'm 38 yrs old, have the most fabulous gravity-defying breasts, and have to dress them in solid, comfortable, cotton bras. Even in bed!
Anyone else fallen out with thongs??
I thought I'd never see the day, but all I want to wear now are big comfy cotton briefs. BRIEFS! There's nothing brief about them!
What's happening to me?!!

DarciesmumandBump2 · 01/08/2011 12:48

Afternoon Ladies.

DP & I are considering a 4D scan. just depends on how much money we have at the end of the month to book one. Have our 20 week scan in 10 days so looking forward to that.

My boobs have grown which is great considering I had a 32a bust before, just not sure what size I am now, so hoping to go into town at the weekend and get measured properly.

regarding a buggy. I really like the Cossato YO! and the Maclaren XT. Had a maclaren with DD have to say it was brilliant. so going to head to southampton soon and have a look in Mamas & Papas, Mothercare and Babies R Us down there and see what we like.

My DP forgot it is our anniversary on saturday :( and has arranged his brothers 2nd stag doo so he's spending the weekend in london. The first stag was a week in Las Vegas - so slightly down-hearted at the moment. Although DP isn't to happy with future BIL as he seems to think money grows on trees. Never mind.

kri5ty · 01/08/2011 12:56

awww darcies you poor thing :( big hugs hun xxxx

oimissus yup... i have fallen out with thongs and i am in asdas packs of 5 panites for £4 lol, they are huge but are cotton and very comfy... not sure if thongs would ever tempt me back now... whats happening to me... is it all down hill from now on? I am a 26 yo in big cotton undies!! (and secretly liking them)

DarciesmumandBump2 · 01/08/2011 13:09

Kri5ty Thanks, blooming hormones feel really :(

Oimissus I've been wearing asdas briefs since I was about 21. So comfy and TBH I prefer comfier and proper fitting pants. DD is exactly the same will not wear a pair of knickers unless they fit her bum properly.

OiMissus · 01/08/2011 13:09

I know! It's ridiculous.
I have now seen the light and understand how it happens. I could never understand how people let themselves go and develop these habits.

BEFORE I only wore french lacey underwear.
BEFORE I only ate healthy foods - NOW I eat sweets, chocolate, pies, anything.
BEFORE I kept everywear razored and tidy... NOW - well, I tried, but how can you tidy it when you can't see it?
BEFORE I only wore clothes that I thought did something for me, - NOW I'll wear whatever fits!

We should become the pg police and agree to check up on one another that after we are past our pregnancies, that we get back to our normal behaviours.
How can you bring up healthy children when mummy is hoarding white chocolate? How can you create a good impression with a car full of empty pie wrappers?

OiMissus · 01/08/2011 13:11

I might keep the briefs though. Wink

msbuggywinkle · 01/08/2011 13:12

BF counsellor mode

Most women find that underwired bras don't cause them any problems during pregnancy as long as the bras fits properly.

One day would be unlikely to do much, but if you are worried, you need to look out for any sore red patches on your breasts after wearing it...sadly you can get blocked ducts during pregnancy!

BFC mode off

kri5ty I haven't worn a thong since about this point with DD1...I was 21 at the time!

kri5ty · 01/08/2011 13:25

mrsbuggy i love having you on here for all useful tips and welcome advice :)

oimissus... that made me laugh "how can you tidy what you can't see" i'm having the same problem lol, a visit to the waxing salon is on the cards i think... as for the thongs, i think i am now converted and will be forever more in my comfy cotton asda knickers!!

and darcies... it isnt the hormones, i would be very :( anyway! Shame we dont all live near you so we could hold your very own anniversary party with non alcoholic vino hehe

DarciesmumandBump2 · 01/08/2011 13:34

msbuggy Will be asking for tips on express feeding. I want to combine breast milk with formula feeding. I didn't BF DD and ended up with mastitis - OMG that hurt, so not going there again. However, the thought of a child latching onto me freaks the hell out of me. So need all the tips available.

Kri5ty Thanks, will be drowning my sorrows on my own with some non-alcholic vino :(

mopsytop · 01/08/2011 13:39

haha I am having exact same problem with keeping myself 'neat' - can't see below my burgeoning bump! Will have to start visiting a salon to get waxed rather than DIY from now on I think. I am also part of the big pants brigade ... sexy!

DarciesmumandBump2 · 01/08/2011 13:44

I've booked a waxing appt too. as struggling to see below the bump now.

Mmmmcheese · 01/08/2011 13:51

Cherrypi, we got a Maxi Cosi Loola Up for DS as it has a complete travel system (using the safest car seat), you can have the pram or pushchair face either way, has a really snug footmuff that DS didn't even need a coat underneath, really easy to handle and folds up one of the smallest - it fits in our Peugeot 206 boot which is probably around the same size as a Micra. I really like it and have no complaints. Going to have to buy a double buggy now though!

jomouse · 01/08/2011 14:25

Lets all cherish the firm, high and full bosoms while they last...
However, hideous comment from a random man today "Mmmmm, lucky baby". There is so much wrong with that comment on every single level. I actually wanted to beat him.

Anger, anger, ANGER!!!

On a more positive note. I am getting insanely excited by buggies and prams and travel systems. Does anyone have any experience of iCandy? We are hoping to get the Peach Jogger when its out

Darcies, Mopsy, Kri5ty, Missus - see you down the salon. Its getting like a jungle down thereand needs to be sorted out, glad I'm not the only one whose standards are slipping.

msbuggywinkle · 01/08/2011 14:27

Darcies You have my sympathy on the mastitis, such agony. (But not difficult to solve or prevent for anyone who this scares!) Mixed feeding does work really well for some women, we usually still talk about needing to get breast feeding on its own established first though because of the risks of nipple confusion and supply problems if FF is introduced early on. Of course, that won't apply if you want to breast feed for just the first few weeks though.

As far as it feeling weird goes, I agree, when you look at it with your head, it can seem like an odd thing to be doing. Well, it is just so far removed from everything else that we normally do. You might find it helpful to find a bf support group so you can go and expose yourself to lots of women breast feeding, which might make it seem a bit more normal!
